I booked a hotel through this site for two nights totalling $588.00. The booking went through like normal. An hour later I get an email that there were not any actual rooms available and my booking has been cancelled and a refund will be issued. A couple of days later I check my bank statement and realize I was charged the $588.00 anyway. I call Cancelon and they apologize, they "forgot" to issue me a refund. They then tell me they will issue one now but it will take anywhere between 3-10 business days for the funds to be transferred back into my account. I recommend you skip this site entirely and go directly through the hotel to ensure you are not ripped off, or out of funds for several days until a refund can be issued.
Made a reservation through Trivago with cancelon.com. They took the money out of my account immediately. The next day I received an email saying that they have cancelled my reservation because someone else booked it a few seconds before me! I did not see the refund in my bank account so I called them and they said it would take 3 to 10 business days before I would get my money back. Do not use this company. They're untrustworthy and it's hard to get your money back.
I made a very early reservation to get a good rate. Paid for it in full and got a confirmation. Just to receive few days before travelling that they didn't confirm with the hotel & need me to pay double the amount to confirm my reservation because they just realized that my nationality is different than what they guessed it was, without asking me from day one for my full information. This is the most unprofessional and untruthful website I have ever had to deal with. Stay away.
They don't pay the hotel directly after reservation, and keep it till the last moment to discover that rates change and ask the client for extra charge.
P. S: I got a refund for my money but lost my planned vacation.

This September, I booked a hotel in Ottawa through TripAdvisor and received a confirmation from Cancelon? I have never heard of Cancelon but thought it was just an outsourced service provider that TripAdvisor uses so thought it was legitimate. When I arrived in Ottawa (from Toronto) the hotel indicated that they did not have a reservation request - despite me "evidence" from Cancelon of my confirmed reservation. I called the customer service and received a rep in Singapore (or so they said). Long story short, I'm still without a refund! How do we know, as consumers, that Cancelon would be involved when we are booking through another entity (like TripAdvisor, Hotel.ca, Expedia, etc.)?

Booked though cancelon, I'm worried as am having the same experience. Hotel has no record of my booking and we have already been charged. This is a get away for my birthday and the hotel tells me that they are fully booked and that the do not book though cancelon. Called cancelon and they tell me I will receive confirmation in 2 to 3 days hoping this is true after reading reviews am very worried.

On May 11, I booked a room and received an email with my credit card payment reflected. When I tried to check into the hotel I was told they did not have my confirmation and no rooms were available. Upon investigating, I found that Cancelon had sent an email the next day saying it had been cancelled and my credit card would be credited. I had never opened the email as I knew my card had been charged which indicated to me that my room was confirmed.

We booked a family vacation through Cancelon and when we arrived the hotel had no record of our reservation. Cancelon said they'd call us back in 5-10 mins and never called back. We had to call them. This is 100% shady and I would HIGHLY recommend NOT using this company. We are filing a report with the better business bureau. 6.5 hours later dealing with them and we have no where to stay. HORRIBLE!

I ordered a room not realizing this was not Trip Advisor, seemed really nefarious the way they linked the booking opportunity. I needed the room and it was available so I was pretty stoked. Come to find out after that I may not get a confirmation number until the day before the trip. I am driving 1000 miles to this destination and this site lists several horror stories of folks not getting their rooms, how do you do business like this? I have contacted customer service and was assured it never takes that long to get a confirmation number but it has been 7 weeks now and I still do not have one. Every time they give me the same BS answer, I just need to wait. Obviously I need to make arrangements for a room but they took $376 from me and will not refund me. I think this site is a total scam.

It offered me a price for a room, I accepted, filled out all the info just so the site can tell me the room was unavailable! Then why was it listed in the first place? Chat told me, maybe I waited too long and to try again, well I did and guess what. That room was again unavailable. False advertisement and a waste of time, will definitely go elsewhere! Booking should not be this complicated and deceiving!
Trying to book a room, chose the more expensive room because we wanted the "flexible-refund". Was on the payment page, and right there on the left was the flexible-refund option. Put in the credit card, PRE-PAID, not just saved, and my confirmation states: Your reservation is non-refundable. It can not be cancelled and can not be amended. I've reached-out to customer service, sent numerous screen shots and even got an email stating that the flexible-refund would be available if necessary. Then two days later, received a second email stating that it was a different room, and that the flexible-refund is no longer available.

Booked a great deal in NYC for my family. Shortly after received an email that they needed the ages of my kids, ages 13 and 15 (which I had clearly provided when booking). After sending them that info they cancelled my booking claiming that someone else had booked the room "seconds before" I did. Very disappointing, first and last time I will use CancelOn!

This site stole from hundreds of customers by canceling reservations without any warning to them and they didn't refund the payments done. They announced bankruptcy on March 2020. Be aware!
Total scam artists. Avoid at all costs. The conference I booked a room for was cancelled due to corona concerns. I asked for a refund because the actual reservation had not yet been made. They refused. I then tried to list the room for resell (their core business) and they refused because the room was refundable. So if it's refundable, why not refund?!?! After hours of fighting, I got nowhere. Someone needs to file a class action against these criminals.
Their cancellation policy (immediate $210 after booking... though they fraudulently state free 24 hrs. Cancellation) and Best Price Guarantee (within 24 hrs.?!?!- if you click on link buried at bottom) is not industry norm and honestly just wrong. I ended up cutting my loses and cancelling a booking that they wouldn't price match 48 hours after booking because the ridiculous fee of $210 was less than the $400 I am saving going with another vendor. So they are no where the lowest and very "gouging". Hopefully no ones end up paying like I had to.
Terrible company. We saw an available hotel room through Trivago and it took us to book through Cancelon. We paid in full and booked the reservation, forfeiting other opportunities to book somewhere else in Napa. Two days later I got an email saying the booking was canceled and now there are no other options for us to stay. HORRIBLE! Do not trust any booking through this scam of a website. The name is fitting... Cancelon... cause they will cancel on you.
Booked rooms weeks in advance, fully paid and even checked in with the hotel. Literally cancelled on us the day we arrived leaving us stranded and the hotel could not do anything about it. Should've known from the name of the company and reviews that this was a scam.
When we called for customer support we got sent in an endless loop of waiting times and redirects. This stalling just made things worse as it kept our hopes up for no reason.
I am a regular traveler (at least 10 hotel bookings each year for the past 20 years), and I came across Cancelon this morning as I was checking rates for a booking over the next 3 months. The rate was better than other options I had and the cancellation policy allowed me cancel it one week before my stay. I jumped on it, but after entering the credit card number and pressing the confirmation, I was notified that there was a $25 processing fee for any cancellation! This was a shock. I did not see this fee before confirming my booking and I don't remember anything like this in my past hotel bookings. I checked the pages leading to the booking and the fee was not mentioned anywhere on those pages. I immediately called the company and they confirmed that the fee is there and I will be charged if I cancel my reservation even right when it is made! Stop misleading your customers and put that damn $25 fee on the booking page!
I just booked on Cancelon for a room tonight (June 3-4) and when I got to the Waldorf Astoria in Orlando, they had nothing for my reservation. Then 30 minutes later I got two confirmations from Cancelon. With dates different that what I booked for. I booked for tonight June 3-4. One confirmation they sent shows July 3-4. And the other shows 3-7-3019- 4-7-3019! What a complete scam! I then called to question why they confirmed the wrong dates... and no answer after a 20 min hold on music with automated answering! What fraud! Horrible! And their email says non refundable rate! What a scam! I booked for tonight and they charged me for a date next month! Then when u call to fight the charge... no answer! If they do not refund me after I just called my visa to stop payment on this, then I will be contacting the Better Business bureau immediately!

Just when COVID was shutting down travel, this thieving company went around and cancelled all the reservations they had. See when you first reserve through them, they make sure you don't see their NO CANCELLATION policy, that way any money you give them, its theirs to keep. They cancelled my reservation only 6 days AFTER I had made it and I didnt find out it was cancelled until three days before I was supposed to arrive at the hotel. They stole everyone's money, filed for bankruptcy, and used that money to start up something again. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES RESERVE ANYTHING WITH THEM!
Cancelon does not respond to customer service emails but immediately responds to bad reviews saying how sorry they are. Same answer everyone else gets. We could not find your reservation please send its the details. WHY dint you respond to one of my 10 emails and tell me that? You sent me the confirmation and I copied it and included in my many emails. Instead of apologizing here again can you just answer to everyone why you dont respond to emails?
