So I didn't even realize I was booking through this horrible site. I received the order confirmation but with no hotel confirmation number. I started googling "CancelOn" to look at reviews since I immediately started feeling skeptical about my "deal." Sure enough, a ton of bad reviews with people claiming their reservations were not booked. I immediately called my bank to reject the transaction, they couldn't so I filed a dispute instead. I called the CancelOn customer service number only to be serviced by a snarky representative who did not want to cancel my "reservation" or issue me a full refund. She persisted saying they were a legitimate site even after I told her they had horrible reviews and all the likes of a SCAM. I too persisted in cancelling and requesting my refund but I was told that they still had to charge me a $52 fee. I asked to talk to a manager and of course there was no manager. I insisted but they only confirmed cancellation and a refund less the fee. By the way - the refund will take at least 10 days. I feel like such a fool! I can only hope to get my refund back despite what I was told. I am writing this review to keep people from spending their hard earned money on SCAMS and LIES.
I called to double check my hotel reservation with the hotel only to find out that the name cancel on gave them was incorrect. I contacted them and they told me to give it 72 hours and they would fix it. They did. I called a few weeks before the reservation and was told it was there and good. I called a day before the reservation and was told it was cancelled five days ago due to the hurricane. I never got news of any such cancellation. Cancel on then went to tell me that it was not cancelled, even though I had JUST spoken with the hotel and they said it was. Called them back after being reassured from cancel on it was not cancelled. And low-and-behold, there it was. Cancel on had called the hotel to reinstate my reservation. WHAT A NIGHTMARE! If I hadn't called the day before check in, I would've gotten down there and had no where to stay. In my opinion, all of this trouble isn't worth the discount I got. I would've much rather booked through a hotel and known my reservation would be there when I got there to check in. NEVER booking with cancel on again! Avoid at all costs, unless you double check EVERYTHING.

I thought I was on Tripadvisor I always book my travel on this safe site. I booked my hotel I always stay. When I printed out the confirmation it said Cancelon. I thought "what is this my hotel is cancel?" The reservation was for more then the other sites I had just been on. I went on line to see what Cancelon was and I got all these BAD reviews. I was so scared that I had just lost 300.00. I called my hotel right away, I asked them if I had an reservation and if it was secure.
They said it was through a 3rd party but it had been made. I went back into the site to see what could of happen. I notice when I went into the Tripadvisor to make reservation the screen took me right off the top of the page down to the middle. This was a steal from the heading so I would not see that another site grabbed the site. I had no idea it took me off Tripadvisors page until I printed out the confirmation. I went onto the scam page and this site does it to all the hotel sites not just Tripadvisor. Priceline is another company that has a bad reputation and I see they own this site.
BEWARE just because Cancelon finalized it does NOT mean your hotel has a confirmation at all.
The way I understand it Cancelon purchases rooms, they do not book your reservation until someone cancels their vacation and then they buy out their loss at discount price and then give you their reservation. You get booked when someone cancels their vacation, that vacation gets resold and Cancelon buys it for cheap and then they book your trip. I was lucky I was not out of money or it could of been a whole week, I had book for just two days.

This was an easy to navigate website that gave me a great deal, though the emails are confusing I think I will figure it out.
I'll submit a review once I get to the hotel and find out everything is good.
I've seen a lot of bad reviews so I still have my doubts.

I cancelled my trip to California on March 14th due to the US Government travel restrictions put in place with the COVID-19 travel restrictions. I cancelled my reservation via email with Cancelon two days before we were to stay at Kings Inn, San Diego on March 16th. I also called the hotel, they were very accommodating and cancelled my reservation with them. They were unable to refund my money because I had booked with a third party, Cancelon. I have not yet recieved a refund from Cancelon.
We lost our money and had no booking at hotel and they did not refund

Cancelon has been awful. I booked a hotel in Austin for 4 nights for a conference. I arrived at the hotel and there was no record of my reservation. We tried multiple times to get through to customer service. After over an hour of trying, they answered and said they'd call me back. Thirty minutes later, they call back with a confirmation number-- still nothing on the hotel's end. They say they'll call back again. Call back, different confirmation number-- still nothing on the hotel's end. They say they'll call back again. The hotel has only 1 room for 2 nights (not 4), so I book those since there is NOTHING else in the area of where I need to be. This time, they call back and give me the confirmation number of the room I JUST BOOKED, trying to claim it was my original, 4-night booking. They then tell me that the hotel I booked is in the UK, not Austin. Not that I'm a moron, but I check my booking anyway-- address is for the hotel in Austin, not a hotel in the UK. THey then tell me that they'll refund me the money and argue they now also owe me the difference in cost for what I had to pay for 4 nights and for more expensive rooms, they argue but eventually say they will email me confirming they will refund and compensate me for the additional costs.
Weeks go by, nothing. I call and they tell me '"they're waiting for an update." They also say I need to provide them a receipt showing that I paid the hotel. I provide them that and they say they will email me. Another week or 2 goes by-- nothing. Email again-- they reply with the same, generic "waiting for an update" email. I have now received the same, generic email 3 times. It has been 6 weeks since my trip and I am no further along in the process than when I first communicated with them. I ended up paying twice as much for the hotel for half the number of nights. They are blatant liars and just seem to make things up and delay the process in hopes that you'll stop fighting the charges and keep the money.

NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! This is the worst experience me and my husband ever had. I booked a room through them and then a couple hours later they decide to tell me they needed my billing info with the card I used to confirm my reservation... AFTER THE FACT THE PAYMENT WENT THROUGH. Then about 5/6 hrs later I call the hotel just to be safe to confirm my reservation and it was confirmed. THEN... at 12:17 at night I get an email saying that my reservation is refunded. I called to see what was going on and Cancelon said that the hotel I made reservations at is completely booked and it will take up to 10 days for my refund! What?!? Talked to a manager and didn't do me any good so now it's Fourth of July week/weekend and now I had to pay out of pocket again to get a last min hotel (which everyone knows costs more). They did NOTHING to accommodate for their screw up. They accepted my money knowing the hotel was completely booked. Talk about furious, talk about disrespectful, talk about completely WRONG! NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!
Total waste of money and time. We booked 3 nights in Paris hotel Las Vegas total pre paid to cancel-on was $411 including resort fee.
When we arrived the hotel did not have a reservation for us and had never heard of this company. We were attending a wedding so had not choice but to stay at Paris and pay the rack rate which was $780. Now we are out the $411 and the $780.
Each day of our 3 day trip we spent at least 2 hours on the phone with this company and they assured us every day we would not have to pay anything upon check out. WRONG. They are a complete scam.
The Hotel was very nice and tried to help us and even got their Wholesale department involved but they too had never heard of this company. When we asked cancel-on to provide us who their 3rd party booking firm was they said that information was private.
Cancel-on said they will refund us the $411 plus the extra $300+ we paid out of pocket. They also said they will pay us through a pay-pal account. Hah...
I told them I believe that when VEGAS freezes over. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY JUST TO SAVE A FEW BUCKS. You will be disappointed.
If they ever do refund us I will reply here but over all, even if we get our money back one day, they ruined our trip and was a complete hassle.
