I ordered and paid price gouging money for 2 gallons of hand sanitizer. Over 50 dollars a gallon. I received an email claiming due to the Corona Virus situation, shipping was slower then usual. That being said, It took almost 2 months to receive the nastiest smelling putrid hand sanitizer that you could imagine. It smelled as if the ingredients were as follows. Take 60 ozs of vomit and blend it with 40 ozs of septic system fluid and top the remainder of the jug with spoiled milk. No response to complaint emails. I had no other choice but to discard this disgusting delectable muck. But I could not do it in conventional way. I took 1 gallon 30 miles out into the desert and buried it as deep as I could treating it like a Jumanji Game Board. The other gallon I encased in a 40 cubic yard concrete pour we were doing on a bridge job. I am imagining 100 years from now some poor guy will demolishing this bridge abutment only to be overcome by the stench. I felt the need to separate the 2 jugs so that they could never blend together like a terminator and become even more powerful. It has been 2 weeks and 100's of hand washings later and I can still smell it on my hands. If there was an upside to this product, it would be you would not have to worry about social distancing issues. No one would want to be within 10 feet of you if you use this. Do yourself a favor and stay clear.

I ordered 2 gallons of hand sanitizer March 21,2020. After my card was accepted they said that orders would not ship until 2 weeks later, which I thought was fine, I will not mind the wait. Today is April 11th and I have not even had ONE email sent to me saying my order has been delayed even more. The 1 800 number is a joke. I suggest you people who have purchased and not received their orders take it up with your bank or credit card company. They have a duty to investigate, pursue and resolve your purchase(s). I only gave 1 star because you cant give negative stars. I have my account # handy in case anyone wants to dispute my claims.
UPDATE: I received my order on May 1,2020, that's 40 days after purchase. (I only received 1 email on the 24th of April stating UPS had my package and was being shipped via Ground). I had decided not to dispute charges just to see if this order would go through. I wont buy from them again or recommend them to anyone. Hard times like these are what separate the good companies from the bad and I suppose they need to take a hard look at their business model. By the way, the hand sanitizer smells crappy and goes on just like the 70% Alcohol it is.

I ordered a gallon bottle of hand sanitizer on April 2, and was told they were running 10 days behind on shipping. We are now at 20 days and the status of my order has not changed.

Company has taken down their telephone number, and is replying to email inquiries with boilerplate responses which do nothing to resolve the issue but indicate it may be another month before the product may ship. This is not because they don't have product in stock, they emphasize, but they are completely overwhelmed and can't get stuff out the door fast enough.

In which case, I as a customer must ask why they're continuing to take orders that they know they're not going to be able to deliver in a timely manner? Their website still indicates a 14-day lead on shipping, but both my experience and that of numerous others on Yelp indicate that this is just a pipe dream. Other companies I have dealt with have gone to the lengths of stopping taking orders until they get caught up with the ones they have already received and been paid for. Not this outfit - they just keep taking orders in regardless of the fact that they know they're not going to be able to deliver them when promised.

Avoid. They talk a good game, but their internal practices are extremely unprofessional and unreliable.

I was excited to shop at Bulk Apothecary. I first ordered oil and over 25 pounds of Shea Butter. I was happy as a new customer... Until I ordered $60. Worth of Candles. They advertised "Very Strong Woodsy Scent." Upon opening up one box. I smelled Nothing. The packaging was beautiful, with 3 wicks and a beautiful top. Ready to be labeled and sold. I called and spoke to Bridgette on 9-9-21. At first, she was pleasant, but when I told her that the candles had No Scent. She switched to a full blown Nasty attitude. I said "I can't label and resell a candle with no scent. She said "Well, you're in your 30 days to send it back". She then said "We don't provide labels for returns, you'll have to pay for that on your own". I said "But you sent me candles with No Scent, how is this my fault?" She said "It's just our policy" You are responsible for your own returns and we will refund you, less shipping" So I have to pay for the shipping twice for a defective product. With a terrible attitude she said "That's just our policy'". After considering I woul be out of over $40.00 with No product, if I sent the candles back. I decided to keep them and use them for ambiance at an event. They Should Not Advertise What They Clearly Do Not Have!

They USE to be great!

It's so sad these guys have gone downhill so deep. A few years back this was my go-to for all my apothecary needs but, then they started taking orders/money, without even having items in stock. This is not good at all as us smaller business look at suppliers who have the availability at the time they need it, and if they do not have it we need to be able to get it from other suppliers, but here you just never know if they actually have it in stock. The other major reason I am so unhappy with them is that a few of my most popular scents of fragrance oils are now only available in huge industrial sizes and are continuously out of the 8 and 16oz size bottles. Now you must order 25 pounds starting at 6 or 7 hundred dollars, which I feel is because they are selling to major industries now. I call that a "sell out" because they were a company that prided themselves at servicing small businesses and DIYers.(Oh but they will sell you 1/2 oz tiny bottles which are expensive and won't make much at all) I spent thousands of dollars at this company over the years, now I spend zero here just for the principle alone.

When I placed my order they stated it was a 12 day delay for hand-sanitizer. A month later there is no delivery, no communication from a human, they won't refund my money, but just keep stating they are backed up. BUT THEY ARE STILL TAKING ORDERS! I have no idea if I lost my money or not. These guys are the WORST

We have found Bulk and current policies to be unethical and criminal. We have used them over the years and we have found them to be reliable when product arrives damaged or leaking or incorrect. We received last shipment on a quite large order and received 3 incorrect products supposedly mistaken for an item we ordered 15 of; and we were missing completely 2 x 5 lbs of two separate products. We reached out and requested overnighting the missing items, but they required us to cover the shipping on the mistake of the 3 switched out products AND will only be sending them once they see movement on the return shipping of the incorrect items. Then we were informed that upon further investigation the 2 5 lb products will not be sent as they were already mailed. These items come to over 1000$. We are a a cGMP manufacturer where 2 large 5 lb metal EO containers would have to grow legs and jump into moving car and be whisked away to not be located and inventoried immediately upon receipt. It is unfortunate that they have conducted themselves here in an unethical manner. We will no longer be ordering from Bulk.

Bulk apothecary is honestly an abysmal joke of a company. Expensive items, along with expensive shipping that they take zero responsibility for. I used this company for an entire year, with minimal issue. But, now, they have just dropped all pretense of caring about good business. My last order was stuck in Ohio for an entire 2 weeks before, I had to call them to find out the issue. They immediately reshipped the items--fine. This most recent order, they used UPS without a REQUIRED signature--who ships to NYC and doesn't require a signature for delivery? And, then, when I saw that the products were marked as delivered, but, not delivered to me, I called Bulk Apothecary. This is where the drama begins. They will not refund, or reship my items until UPS does an investigation on the missing shipment. Never mind my company is now going to have an issue with delivering products, never mind I'm a long-term customer, never mind I actually paid for the shipment in the first place! They refuse to take any responsibility that NO ONE clicked the "signature required" button on the original shipping order. I've filed a complaint with the Ohio BBB. And, upon doing so, found they have 135 complaints registered. DO NOT BUY from these people. I'm a believer in small businesses, but, not greedy businesses whether they are large or small.

Said item was instock, but had a 2 week lead time but as it was hand sanitizer, I gave benefit of the doubt. They still haven't put it on a truck after 3 weeks but they printed the shipping label! And they changed terms to NO REFUNDS so I am just stuck! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! Those other reviews must be from employees paid to write them because as an actual customer, they wouldn't be writing anything positive. I will be contacting the BBB to report them!

This sanitizer like many others made during covid19 are made with plant based alcohol. This is the new norm as synthetic alcohol is in short supply during the pandemic. Plant based alcohol is not odorless like synthetic alcohol Is. You may think that GERM ATTACK smells bad when you use it for the first time. It's really not that bad. Believe it or not some companies plant based alcohol sanitizer smells much, much worse! Now that I have a better understanding of the situation I'm changing my review from a negative to a positive for bulk apothecary's GERM ATTACK. It gets the job done. You will get used to the tequila smelling odor of the sanitizer pretty quickly and won't even think of it after a few uses. BULK APOTHECARY is a good company that stands by it's product.

HORRIBLE SERVICE

I made a purchase on may 2nd, got an email confirming the purchase and let me know that we will have the tracking number within 24-48 hours. 2 weeks later, we still had not heard of our shipment and we reached out. The Sales contact did not respond until 3 days later and then told us that they were 17-23 days out from shipping. I asked why there was no notification on their delayed shipping and why did we have to wait to hear 2 weeks later. The email that was sent out seemed to be an automated response because it was the same repeated email. When we finally received our shipment (25 days) not all the items were with it. There was a receipt saying that one of our items was backordered. We paid for all items expecting to receive all items and did not receive all items. We have reached out multiple times since receiving the shipment and sales has not returned a single email to tell us where our items are and when we can expect to get them.

This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in a company. They refuse to answer questions or respond to emails and at this time, they wont answer phones due to COVID?

Terrible customer service! Ordered a product and when I received it, it was rancid. The smell was extremely strong. I called to request a refund and was emailed a return shipping label. I returned the item unused. The foil top was partially pulled back, which is when I discovered the butter was rancid, however the butter inside was untouched because of the disgusting smell.

My refund was short $3, I assumed they were being shady trying to charge me for return shipping, which was unacceptable because they sent me a RANCID product. When I called customer service, I was told that my account was notated with the blatant lie that I'd "used 3 ounces" of the product and that's why my refund was short. Utter bull$#*!! As bad as that butter smelled, I didn't even want to touch it let alone drill out 3 ounces.

The rep claimed she couldn't override my shorted refund because of what the "notes" said but she offered me a coupon code for a future purchase. *******@ck that, why would I ever shop again at a company that falsely accused me of being a thief. Tuh! Never again.

Buy your products on Amazon or Vitacost where shipping is free or free with a $49 purchase.

I'm disgusted with this company on principle alone and there's a reason for their low ratings.

I made a bulk order of the 4oz Amber glass bottles, which on the site are advertised with the droppers, and when I received my order, it was only the glass bottles, no lids or droppers included. This was a HUGE setback as I am a small business and not receiving the accurate product caused a delay in being able to deliver to my customers in time. And then I called to return the product and they refused to refund the full cost of what I paid to receive the product that they falsely advertised. DO NOT SHOP HERE.

I PLACED AN ORDER ON MARCH 8,2020 AND PAID $16.70 FOR (GUARANTEED DELIVERY OF MARCH 12TH. I RECEIVED MY ITEM ON MARCH 25TH, BASICALLY TWO WEEKS LATER THAN PROMISED. I NEEDED THE ITEM BY MARCH 17TH AND THAT IS THE REASON I WAS WILLING TO PAY NEARLY 17.00 FOR SHIPPING. TOTAL FRAUDULANT SHIPPING INFORMATION AND I INTEND TO CONTACT THE ATTORNEY GENERAL. I BELIEVE THIS COMPANY IS SCAMMING CUSTOMERS TO MAKE ADDITIONAL MONIES ON SHIPPING. WOULD NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY EVER AGAIN.

Quality oils

I used to spend obscene amounts of money on one of the well-known MLM brands (Rhymes with Loung Yiving) Like, I was faithful to that brand, and that brand only. In a pinch, when my go-to brand was out of a very popular blend (Rhymes with Crease & Yawning) I found this site and ordered a giant bottle of their version for about the price I typically pay for 5mL. I wasn't expecting much but when it arrived I was shocked at how close it was to the real thing. So, I slowly started replacing my expensive stash with oils from Bulk Apothecary and I couldn't be happier.
