Arranging for taxi service with Booking.com at Miami International was a HUGE mistake! First we were texted by "someone" who never referenced Booking.com and said he would be our driver a couple of days in advance of our trip, Gave us a bunch of directions, NONE of which jived with the instructions Booking.com gave us about how to meet with our driver at our destination airport. Then a few hours in advance of our arrival we received an e-mail from Booking.com naming a completely different driver name who would pick us up. Neither driver arrived according to the Booking.com instructions we were provided with. We were stranded after pre-paying our taxi fee ROUND-TRIP! Thanks for nothing Bookings dot com! I will be disputing the credit card charge since we did not receive the services we paid for, And received a lot more aggravation than we bargained for. I will be posting this feedback on Trip Advisor you can be sure!
Booking.com said the hotel was 1/2 mile from my location so I booked, drive the 1/2 mile only to find out that the one they advertised was actually 15 minutes away, downtown. Not the convenient 1/2 mile they stated on the Internet. I cancelled within an hour due to the misinformation and received a message that I would be charged anyway. Country Inn & Suites policy states that I will be charged one night if I cancel. I'm still trying to find out if Booking is planning on charging my credit card. Their misinformation just created a hassle I didn't need. Don't trust too quickly!
Never use booking.com. As long nothing goes wrong it is a decent platform but as soon the customer needs protection they claim they are not responsible for anything.
I recently stayed at a hotel (Hotel Tamara) in Amsterdam, booked via booking.com, where during the night I realised there were mice running on the floor of my hotel room. I immediately checked out and asked support from booking.com, they said they cannot book me a replacement and it is all my extra costs. I needed to find a hotel room and I never got refunded my first stay. No measures were taken to ensure that this could not happen again at the same hotel. Booking.com is a shame...
We booked a round trip plane ticket through this company. I never received the tickets on either my email address or on my phone app but they charged my debit card. I tried to call the 1-800 phone number and I was unable to connect with a live person because I did not have a confirmation number which I never received. I emailed them several times only to receive generic emails back stating that they need my confirmation number that they never gave me. I entered my phone in the email but no one has ever called me to discuss this matter. I had to re-order the tickets and pay for them again through a different company and file a dispute with my bank. My bank stated that I may not get a refund because I authorized the transaction. I would never trust this company ever again. The emails I received clearly came from another country and did not even have my name in them. Do not trust this company with your hard-earned money.
I booked a dream Italian vacation and one of the reservations I booked required an international wire transfer for the deposit. My dates changed and I had to cancel the reservation. I have been attempting for almost 3 months, no less than 15 phone call to get my $1500 deposit back, They have used every excuse to not refund. I called booking.com prior to making the deposit to make certain they would stand behind the booking. If yo use them absolutely only pay with credit card they will not assist you if you need help.
It right next to a Strip club. Live entertainment
There was people lounging around and in the hotel.I felt very unsafe. Booking.com should have informed me about the strip club. I could have booked somewhere else. They wouldn't give me a refund only half. I didn't even stay. I had to find another hotel later that night. Very unsatisfied with this site. I will never booked again
Made a hotel booking for a trip to Canada, which was cancelled well ahead of their deadline.
46 days later and counting
It has been one flimsy excuse after another for their inability to make a full refund.
Either they have not received my mails or they are waiting for a respond from the hotel, who should not have receive the funds before my arrival or they want to see my bank statement as proof of payment... Why i don't know especially when my bank statement was not needed to debit my bank account during the booking process nor was it needed to send me a confirmation of my booking.
Furthermore, the refund is been paid directly into the account it originated from, so why all the additional stumbling blocks?
It is very obvious that their unfair and illegal practice is all in an effort make sure customers are stranded and have no other option but to use their services rather than use another service provider.
Booked a taxi 12 hours before flight. When taxi did not arrive checked my phone and saw they had cancelled an hour before arrival. Could have missed my plane and had to pay more than double and scramble at last minute to find someone else. Why run a credit card, send confirmation only to cancel. Garbage.
Just checked my credit card and the quote was in DDK and they charged Euros. Its still pending so hopefully I don't have to open a dispute with my credit card company on top of the cancellation.
The customer service was ridiculous. They were giving form answers that didn't even match what we were talking about, but they were happy to make me pay twice for sub par accommodations (turns out the only "Reviews" of the hotel on the site were fake). It's just been a terrible dragged out and expensive experience thanks to them.
Used booking.com to book 3 rooms in Florida for me and my family, website said £1830, there was a bit about extra room charges but did not think this would amount to much, so imagine my surprise when total cost was £2700! My complaint is, if these charges have to paid why were they not included in the initial holiday amount? I feel I have been duped over this, a holiday cost is what you base your choice on, not 2 thirds of it, once i got over the shock i checked and it would have been cheaper to have a package holiday instead!
Very simply put they allow their partner hotels to rig their reviews. Made a booking at a hotel with an almost 9.0 review total. What a joke the place was not even a one. They hide negative reviews to where it is almost impossible to locate them. Bad business all around. I will stick to hotels.com or make my bookings directly.
In the apartment we booked in Barcelona a desktop which was bolted to the wall crashed to the ground. I narrowly escaped injury. The owner rude and unsympathetic when asked to either offer another apartment or return money.
The repairman came to fix the table into an already compromised hold in the wall. No confidence in safety of that apartment. When contacted Booking.com with attached photos and other documentation, no support at all. Will never book through them again! Poor business model.
We had booked Paradise hotel at Myrtle beach SC w breakfast & kitchenette, we had paid around $400 per night end of July, when we got there we were kind of shocked how filthy the place was, stuff not friendly at all, the pool looked like was not cleaned for the entire summer, while next door's pool was clear blue, we also find out that the room avg price was $150, where we had paid $400 per night, in the next morning we were denied free breakfast according to front desk, breakfast was available only for those who had booked directly thru the hotel, even-though breakfast was published on booking.com site. For the entire stay it smelled like lots of folks around here were weed lovers, you open the balcony at night time and that all you smell, I could probably write a book about this experience, it was a big disappointment for us, we tried to call help desk, they're in Philippine, we felt we were scammed!
I have just spent over two hours trying to book flights on Booking.com and most of the flights I select end up not being available. Somehow the website needs to figure out how to keep up with what is available and what isn't, rather than continuing to display flights as though they are available.
I also contacted customer service about this, both via email and by phone, and did not receive satisfactory help in making a booking.
I had booked a vacation about 6 months out and 36 hours before our flight I get an email that says our hotel was cancelled. They said our credit card did not go through. Fair enough, it might have changed in the last 6 months. But I did not recieve an email, text or phone call to remedy and pay for our hotel. It was a three week vacation, I had planned it out for months, took time off work, spent many hours making plans for our trip and then it was wiped away with no help from Booking.com, our hotel room was booked already, and no reasonable hotels were available. I will never use Booking.com again and recommend going directly to the hotel.

So my wife and I booked an apartment for 3 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary here in Hungary, Budapest.
Our experience with using booking.com was a nightmare. The guy from Emerald gave us a different apartment which was 3 times smaller than the one we were supposed to have. He was very rude and even told us we can cancel the booking if we want. (the cancellation costs is equal to the price for renting the apartment which for him was an excellent deal)
We decided to stay in the smelly, ugly and very dark apartment rather than staying on the street...
I definitely do not recommend booking.com I think they should be responsible for the service of those businesses that are using their website.
They use to be good when started but now they are absolutely... bunch of unprofessional people got together and dont know which way is up.
I called them over 10 times to modify my flight, they keep on transferring me and either they disconnect you or they answer and once a lady picked up whom I did not understand a word she says.
They are hiring cheap unprofessional labor and process of modification is extremely hard and in my case as of now impossible to get a reliable person online to help.
I book through booking.com every year and have been burned a few times so, finally leaned my lesson and will not use them anymore. I booked with free cancellation dates and had an emergency that made it impossible to travel. I cancelled my reservation 3 days prior to the last day I was able to cancel and not be charged. Surprise! I was charged anyway and told there was nothing they could do because the hotel would not refund the charge. Not what I expect from a company that makes a mistake.
My dad thought he booked one room, and we he arrived, he was charged for two! We could not get the a refund, because it's impossible to talk to someone! Why is this legal? Why can't you do business and help people instead of your criminal practices?!?
I revered an apartment BROWNSTONE LIVING in Brooklyn NY for few employees. Once my employees arrived, they were not able to access the facility. We called the property, messaged them through booking.com but never heard back. Meanwhile, our employees stranded in Brooklyn all night long. I called Booking.com demanding full refund, the rep on the phone could not find any record of charges and asked me to send her screen shots from my bank. I called American express and they reversed the charges in minutes. Save your employees and family! Do not use booking.com.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
