The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

My flight to Europe was cancelled on July 10,2017, due to a building fire in the air traffic control building in Leesburg, VA. No flights could depart Washington Dulles Airport due to this fire. My flight was reinstated for 25 hours later, but I had to cancel my entire vacation itinerary because of this fire and could not make it to the hotel I had booked through booking.com. I called booking.com to explain my situation-- all out of my control. I spoke with a representative named Sarina. She explained to me that it was all on the hotel and that they had no ability to cancel. I asked to speak to her supervisor, named Angeliki, and was refused. Supposedly, Sarina contacted my hotel in Austria, and asked for a full refund, but was only given 50% credit for me. My issue with booking.com is this: there should be a company policy in place to give credit to individuals who have booked rooms thru this company in circumstances beyond the customer's control, as this. It is shameful that this company has no policy in order to assist their customers. I will NEVER use booking.com ever again because of the lack of support for their customers. Shameful! Buyer beware... I would hate for anyone else to go thru what I have had to endure, losing major money due to a lack of customer service with booking.com.
They are not honest in the information they provide and pictures are fake, they don't support their customers even they are biased and they judge against you with the property because of the conflict of interest.
I won't use it again
I reserved a hotel room in Lubbock. I got my confirmation email, confirmation number and PIN number. When I went to hotel, the hotel person check my reservation but he said it is not on the system. He tried to reach booking.com, he talked with the customers service, but they did not solved the problem. I could not cancel the reservation because it was too late. Finally I pay again for the room. They charged from me two times.
I recently booked the room thru their website, i only found out the room i booked is with no window! They don't hv it in their description, i only knew after i got the confirmation email. I contacted their customer service to upgrade my room, i dun mind topping up. But they said i can't do anything about it. N the most important thing! Price compare my $#*!! I found a cheaper price for my room at agoda, contacted their cs to revise the price. Till now no reply, i will stop using booking. Com for my vacation. They just can't be trusted
On the site when I booked it said I could cancel a reservation without incurring any costs, but as soon as I booked I was locked in and couldn't cancel without having to fully pay.
Customer services had me on hold for 20 minutes each time I tried to get through - they didn't really care - bad experience - never bothering with them again.
I booked hotels with booking.com in the past and initially it seemed a good idea. Maybe we were in luck with the first two or three hotels but after booking the fourth hotel things started to change. We always book with their so called free cancellation, no deposit and pay later at the property option. The fourth hotel took a deposit immediately after our booking despite the free cancellation for three weeks and no deposit guarantee offer. We phoned booking.com customer service and after spending nearly half an hour on the phone, they reluctantly agreed to phone the hotel and request the deposit to be refunded. Booking.com told us that was just a mistake from this hotel and some hotels may charge a fee to check the card given during the booking, (oddly enough this was not advertised anywhere when we booked). Now this is the scam booking.com is using to allow hotels to charge upfront money to their customers. Their so called hidden ''fee'' is clearly a deposit the hotel in most cases will charge ''to check the card given during the booking'' is the excuse. The amount was taken from my card the bank confirmed. The hotel will take your money well before the date of arrival without your consent. The problem is that this is not advertised before you make the booking! In brief booking.com are con artists partnering with dodgy hotel owners. Recently another booking, momentarily forgot about the issue we had with booking.com last year. Another hotel that advertised free cancellation, no deposit and pay later. The hotel B&B took a deposit minutes after the booking. Booking.com again stated free cancellation, no deposit, pay later. When I checked the B&B hotel website terms and conditions, there was absolutely no mention of a deposit or fee due after the booking. We could phone the place and complain. Definitely time consuming. We are now faced with three options: to use this hotel, to complain and spend more time/money on the phone or to lose our deposit altogether. This is a scam pure and simple, a well thought-out one. There is no real free cancellation or no deposit or pay later but lies and lies. This is really the last time we are using booking.com.
I started using Booking.com and Hotwire exclusively to book US accomodations. Booking.com consistently has the lowest prices for named hotels and Hotwire sometimes beats it with their secret deals.
One advantage to Booking.com is you can hold reservations without paying anything. Bookong also has a generous cancellation policy tjat other sites didnt have.
I took off a star because Booking does inflate their hotel scores and manipulate reviews to make places sound better. I have booked some questionable holes due to their recommendations.
Overall though a reliable hotel bookong site.
I stayed at 901 oceanfront in Galveston TX my experience was awesome the place was lovely, roomy, an pleasant if I had any questions the owner Steve answered them all and was very polite the condo came equipped with everything I didn't have to purchase a lot of things because it was already in condo. I will definitely make another trip here
Just completed a trip and one hotel, which I paid for in advance, was not actually booked so I had to go elsewhere and pay for yet another hotel room for the same night. The hotel said they could not help and I needed to contact Booking.com BUT... I have looked and looked on their site and cannot find anyway to contact Booking.com directly... just the individual hotels. SO... I will now cancel the next trip I have booked via them and just work with the hotels directly. And, it seems that we have been cheated on the price of one hotel room.
A friend of mine and i booked a hostel through booking.com where the website did not specify that the room we booked was a mixed room. We reported the matter immediately to the owners and the owner contacted booking.com. They have been unhelpful, uncaring and taking the side of the owners. They do not respond to emails and have given us so much grief. If anyone is in Leuven, never stay at the Cube Hostel! I have never met people who are so ill-mannered and rude to clients.
It's a scam. The worst experience ever. Put it this way don't waist your time or money. You don't need the drama when on vacation
I am getting charged full price for canceling a room where the stay is 3 months out. I will never use booking.com again. I called to see if they could help and all they said was to contact the property directly. I call the property and they tell me they can't do anything because the payment is through booking.com. He said, she said... never using booking.com
Booked a room through Booking.com. Was guarenteed I could cancel up to 6 pm the night that I booked. Cancelled 3 hrs before that, Booking.com confirmed that, and was still charged by the hotel for the night. Took 4 weeks to get the charges reversed, because Booking.com kept dragging me along with lies of calls to the Hotel on my behalf.
Finally turned over to Credit Card and was promptly credited, as this was the first the hotel knew about Booking's guarentee. Should have called the Hotel in the first place, but Booking is who I originally dealt with the they made the guarentee. I will never trust them again as their promise & guarentee is no good. Buyer Beware.
When you reserve something (dining, hotel, hair appointment, anything) you are assuming that time is just that... reserved. And if you have a confirmation number, you are even more confident that you have a reserved booking. However after reserving a week in Vancouver over 4 months in advance and getting a confirmation number, booking.com sent me an email that they could not accommodate my reservation due to overbooking. The email came one month from our stay making rebooking difficult in this area. This is not a review of the accommodations or owners of them, because the place looked great and the owner seemed very nice. (and was very sorry about what happened with booking.com... perhaps not the first time?) I will never use booking.com again but will go straight to the source. Booking.com gets 40% of the booking which means either the hotel has to increase prices to book through them or they are not getting much profit. I would give no stars if I could.
I made a booking in protea hotel in south africa or tembo airport via booking.com. I got a confirmation that my reservation was confirmed. Surprisingly, on my arrival at the hotel, I was informed that my booking is not confirmed and my room was not booked. I am very disappointed with booking.com
The apartment is very clean and tidy.
All the facilities are available in the apartment.
The owner (Dr. Mrs. Sangita Mule)is very responsive and friendly.
Really liked the locality and area.
Pool & Gardan are very clean and nice.
Thanks For Your Co-operation.
I will suggest your apartment to my friends and relatives.
I don't know how those European companies can be so unorganized with basic functions like collecting payment and customer info! I think a company working out of garage would do a better job! Booking.com is not even able to collect full address from a customer at the time of booking! I can do this with a $10 webpage form. Not collecting basic info let customer put fake credit card info is a source and heaven for criminals and bad people booking trought the site! Looks like the corporate office in Amsterdam does not know what the are doing!
I absolutely love booking.com, it is easy to use and I will recommend it to those I know. I had an issue with one of my booking's so I called and spoke with Nicholas in customer service, very knowledgeable and helpful young man, he resolved my problem promptly and my expectations as a customer were blown away! Good employees to represent your company are imperative and difficult to find. I wish more companies had more employees like Nicholas they make a difference in wether a customer continues to use that company or not! Great job booking.com! Thank you very much.
Deceiving, tricky, a site that robs you with their tempting beauty of their website. I booked by mistake in their booking and their promising parking in their hotel. But they rob you off and the total price is in a smaller font.
I recently booked a hotel using booking.com and when we arrived it wasn't as it had been presented online by the merchant - the staff at booking.com worked with the merchant to provide me with a full refund and a follow up email and call to ensure I was a satisfied customer. I will most certainly remember the care they took when I choose booking.com for my next travel booking :)
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
