Nothing. The cable and Internet were out in the entire hotel. The clerk agreed to cancel the reservation, however, they will not send the written confirmation for the cancellation. As it stands now, I've called the hotel 5 times and booking.com 10 times and I still do not have my money back or any resolution to this issue.
I mistakenly put in the wrong date and realized it five minutes after booking. Try to get them on the phone- good luck. Very poor service. This whole non-refundable pricing is a scam.
After a week I was given a phone number by the hotel to contact Booking.com. I called- got a live person who conducted a cancellation with the hotel for my extra night stay. Easy. Okay so Booking.com gets another shot at redemption. Based on this I raised my rating to Three stars- but still Buyer beware.
Took my money and gave me a confirmation, only later to realize that the property had no electricity and were unable to entertain us. Three days they kept promising that they would compensate us and relocate elsewhere. To my surprise the third day when I was expecting an option from them, I got an email from them saying that the booking has been cancelled and they have initiated the refund. Two days left for the scheduled stay and all hotels and resorts are full now. They screwed the whole holiday. I recommend everyone that they shouldn't take their confirmations as 100 percent, instead call the property directly to avoid last minutes surprises
Booked a hotel in Florida. Booking. Com texted my wife and said the hotel was having electrical problems. We would have to cancel or stay at a motel 10 miles away. Cancel for a full refund. Later that day my credit card was refunded $35.00 and was charged a $815.00 cancellation fee. I'm still trying to recover my money, and customer help desk, just hangs up on me. This is a complete scam. Do not believe the commercials. Instead of Booking. Yeah, they should have said, Booking. SCAM
I spent weeks searching for the perfect place for our group of 20 to spend New Year's Eve. After finally finding a place, getting every person to agree to it, and booking it I felt immensely relieved. One day later I received an email that an error was made and the price would be $800 more than I had already charged to my card. This put the price outside of my budget forcing us to cancel and begin the search all over again. Regardless of if the error was made by the property owner, Booking.com should work to make things right with the customer, in this case covering the difference in cost. If I booked a room on any other website (like Orbitz, Priceline, Expedia, Hotels.com) for $100 and the hotel meant to charge me $120, Orbitz would NEVER try to come back to me for an additional $20. These other websites are real companies who care about maintaining their customers, clearly Booking.com is not. I will never use this website again and I will make sure my 20 guests never do either.
We booked guest house on 04/05/24 until 05/05/24 and when we reached their we were told it is cancelled.we travelled to celebrate our marriage anniversary in london about 40 miles and cancellation at the last moment put us in awkward situation whether to find any accomodation in night time as it was too late to find new property esp. London is expensive.when we called booking.com we were told that we cancelled and refunded you but no compensation was offered for the time lost and our otger arrangements were affected as we had to return back to our home.the experience was not good one and no apologies from booking.com
Worse customer service
Watch out on discounts offered by booking.com
E.g., Whether offered a discount with deadline f.I.15 July, please be aware that the code exported on the 14th at 23,59
Non critical but unfair (or misleading) practice
Today I had it confirmed that Booking.com fixes reviews. That is to say, if you have a bad experience with an accommodation and make a complaint, booking.com can chose to bar you from leaving a review for the property. They simply do this by not sending out the review link. It seems that they just want the better reviews on their website, to encourage potential customers to book! Previously, all the places we'd stayed at had been great, so I had left very positive feedback. This was our first disaster stay... and I am not allowed to leave any feedback. What a con!
Booked a room at the Polynesian in Myrtle Beach. When we arrived at the Polynesian it was the filthiest place I have ever encountered! The room was uninhabitable! Had not been even vacuumed... food or some unknown substances stuck on floors... beds were filthy... bathroom was disgusting... lobby was filthy! We were refused a refund! Booking.com should remove this business from their list! Will never use booking.com again if these are the types of places you get when booking through them!
I booked a hotel in New York City up front for what I thought was a good price. I double checked for extra costs before submitting my credit card for the full price of my stay. Once submitted my booking confirmation stated that I will still have to pay an extra $560 in taxes and fees upon arrival. I immediately contacted the site and they refused to refund me my money (although my trip is still 5 months away.) Terrible customer service. I do not recommend using this site for your travelling needs.
I have been working with them for the last 9 years. The customer support is getting worse every year. My messages are being ignored even though I write once or twice a year when I have a serious problem. The last two questions were not answered at all. All I get are template emails from bots. "We have forwarded your message to a specialist on this topic. They generally respond within 3 days." Well, they don't.
As a small hotelier we are constantly having problems with booking.com The Cancellation policies are displayed in a misleading fashion and we receive more time wasters than genuine guests. The commissions are constantly rising. Companies like this will end up driving customers costs up as the hotel owners cannot continue absorbing the commissions - 15% of our income lost just for facilitating a reservation when we have the same facility on our own website. Book direct people and actually deal with the hotel - leave the middle man out! They are pocketing your possible discount!
Booking.com has been stolen my card USD 180 and cancelled my reservation. Please be aware using booking.com website regarding hotel reservation. It's my experience to share with you. Booking.com charged for reservation then cancelled I couldn't get my money back my bank declined to return it because booking.com hold my reservation payment then cancelled my confirmation. Be aware of scammer company.
I have been using booking.com for over 8 years now and I've observed that what you see is what you get. I most often got better deals through booking.com than when I go directly to the hotel/apartment website. I also find the trail of customers' review on booking.com very helpful as it at least provide some guidance on which properties or locations to avoid when searching for decent hotels/apartment. The search and filter engines are also great for quickly narrowing down your search.
Was visiting my daughter in Ayr Australia so looked on booking.com which only showed me 4 motels so I thought I'd look at b&b, but at this point it redirected me to Ayr Scotland. Whether it was I was on a small phone I did not notice or see anything to indicate this, so I booked immediately realised what had happened and cancelled. The ad said pay at hotel but the hotel (beechwood guest house ayr scotland) took the money. Booking. Com said nothing to do with them but always evaded directly answering the point of how I came from Australia to Scotland, tried 4 times and never got anything but contact hotel, the hotel whom I contacted a couple of times just completely blanked me no response what so ever. As with many large companies now they feel so large you get the 'what's one person syndrome' what's it matter to us if one customer goes elsewhere!
I used to be an avid booking.com user but will absolutely no longer use them. They don't communicate all fees on the hotel's main booking page until after you book the non-refundable booking. Then the final fees show. The last time I booked, there was a $150 hidden pet fee that was communicated only after the booking was confirmed. No ability to cancel. It doubled my entire booking cost. Book through direct hotel sites instead. Absolute garbage business.
Best Western Cape Suites is situated right next to the Cape Tech University. Students share rooms, party, drink, do drugs, fight, throw up, shout all hours of the day/night. The poor security gets abused whenever they say anything. Police gets called in, Security companies only to sort out a situation for a couple of hours but then it continues again. I never felt safe and being a sophisticated young lady I would not advise you to stay unless you are here to be a student and party! For the same price, check out other spots that do NOT allow students to share rooms. Very disappointed and fear for the future of this establishment, unless they get rid of all the students!
While traveling, I learned that my brother had a plumbing emergency at his house (where I planned to stay). Went online to find an alternative. Booking.com did not reveal that there was a cancellation charge (in fact, the entire one-night stay) until AFTER I had made the hotel reservation. Even then, the information was halfway down the page, buried within a list of other things. While this may be legal, it's sleazy. I'm a frequent traveler, but I won't be using Booking.com again!
Avoid booking.com by all means. I missed my flight due to a taxi driver's strike in Milan. I ended up canceling my trip to Berlin, therefore, the week-long hotel reservation with Lime Home. Most hotel charges one night as a cancellation fee but refunds the rest of the nights. Lime home refused to communicate with me after I sent the cancellation notice. They pretended the reservation was still valid. How do I know they are not double charging for the room? Booking.com rejected my review, which reflects the fact. Before this happened, I had made several reservations thru booking.com on the same trip. So... avoid booking by all means. They won't be the advocate for you even though you spend a lot of money there.
Booked through booking because of a free taxi offer. It's been chaos on all airports everywhere. Taxi driver left after 30 minutes while booking promises 45 minutes after landing + 15 minutes. Received a phone call from booking where they told me too bad you missed your slot, not our fault. The least they can do is TO NOT offer taxi offers these times of airport chaos. First and last time booking.com
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.

Hello,
I am sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction. Situations with cancellations will always depend on what type of policy you select. Booking.com will list the various policies that are provided by the hotels. There are policies such as Free Cancellations reservations, Special Conditions reservations and Non-Refundable reservations. I would like to investigate this matter further, and would appreciate if you would share your booking number.
