The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

They will scam you every opportunity they get. The money you pay goes to them not the hotel and they refuse to give you a refund unless the hotel writes them? But they'll give you the run around all day and it's so hard to contact them. If you find a deal on their website, just book through the hotel because booking.com is a SCAM!
I dealt with booking.com a lot. And would book hotels on through this app. Recently, one of the hotels dream apartments silk hotels asked for a deposit and didn't refund. Booking.com told me they will. I kept contacting them several times and every time I contact them their response was to wait 24 hours and they never refunded my money. The hotel dream silk apartments and booking.com are both scammers and will steal your money. AVOID THIS COMPANY as much as you can
This travel site SUCKS $#*!! They make it impossible to contact them if you need assistance NEVER use them!
Booked with them Feb 2022 for Oct 2022. Found out I was pregnant 2 weeks later. I have been trying to cancel or change my reservation since. I am 8 months pregnant and they have not been of any help. I highly recommend not using them. TERRIBLE customer service. I have waisted a lot of time and money with them.
This ompany is scam, they advertise what they don't have direct link to, book flight with them its scam, hotel with them a scam, taxi with them a flop
Unfortunately, I had to give a star in order to leave this review... don't waste your or time with these thieves!
I booked for a 2 night stay in Orlando, had to cancel due to Covid and got lies and excuses... not to mention, getting hung up on 4 TIMES! Diago, Carlos, Imelda and Nikko ALL HUNG UP ON ME! I was told they can't help at all because it was a " Partner Offer". No Supervisor to speak with, I was refused an email that states their cancelation policy and they will not do anything to help!
They are liars and crooks!
I made the booking for a group at the earliest month of the year, booking for December holidays. I submitted my banking details though it was stated that there was no need for deposit payment. It appeared in my profile that my reservation was secured but l was worried that there was no communication that was taking place between me and them. I tried to contact them but in vain as there is no direct contact number. It is very difficult to communicate with them since everything is programmed, you can't say what you want to say. To cut the story short, on the last day before departure l decided to google the number for the accommodation l had booked, only to find that my name didn't appear from the guest list. I don't want any thing to do with Booking.com!
I will not be using Booking.com again. The people at Hampton Inn in Georgetown were kind enough to refund my "no-show" fee, but that should not have been charged in the first place as I followed instructions to cancel my booking through you with 4 DAYS NOTICE. If you don't plan to monitor and respond to emails, I suggest you don't instruct people to reply directly to them for assistance.
Friday February 18 2020, I called to reserve a hotel room, from Friday to Tuesday February 22. I get to the room on Friday to find out booking.com made my reservation is for August 2022. So I was left with no place to stay and my debit card short $150, I have a email saying my cancellation was free, and a email saying I owe the $150, both emails from booking.com...
They will cancel your reservation and rebook it with someone else without telling you. To avoid ruining my plans in the future, i will not be using booking.com again
Reservation at a Best Western Resort was never received by the resort! Was peak season and unfortunately the resort was completely sold out, as were most decent lodgings in the area. Booking.com agent was no help whatsoever. Alternate lodging Booking suggested was a rat-hole. NEVER AGAIN!
Storm Eunice hit and all trains cancelled which consequently led to us not making it to the hotel. They refuse to give us credit to even just stay another day or give refund. With prices soaring it's disappointing that a massive corporation refuse to help a customer out. When I used to book as a business and they were very flexible because they only think about money. Don't get me wrong if everything is going smoothly, they are fine. Very disappointed
We had a reservation for one night at a hotel and when we got to the hotel they said that they had to cancel many online bookings due to over booking. I did not receive an email, phone call, nothing! This is the worst experience I've ever had with online booking. You all can go $#*! yourselves.
I will never use this scamming company ever again. The reservation ended up costing twice as much as they told me it would. Reserve directly through the hotel.
I used to love booking.com but now it should be called booking.con. I have just booked a hotel and it was a) a confusing process with all the room configurations and b) they made a promise about not charging me and then the hotel charged me within one hour of the booking. I have phone customer services and it's not their fault - it's the hotels fault?! This company had seriously lost its way. I won't be using it again.
I recently booked a hotel through Priceline. The room we were checked in was substandard for the amount we paid torn and dirty curtains very loud exhaust fan, coffee maker non-functional dirty fridge, and much more. Upon calling Priceline I was connected to Booking.com somewhere in Asia I was quite surprised to know that Priceline has a partnership with Booking.com, anyways I talked to their customer service couple they absolutely were unhelpful and completely lacked the customer mindset they asked me to send them pictures and videos, which I did. No response I called them a couple of days later none of them seemed to have opened my complaint and all the pictures or videos. I hung up on them. I wouldn't at all recommend going through Priceline or Booking.com. Extremely poor and unprofessional customer service. The hotel room was not worth $60 a night I paid $190 for a total of $1070.
I booked a trip through booking.com 2 weeks ago and today i received an email saying that my trip was canceled. I have 2 days before my birthday trip and now i have to find another room. This is my first time booking through bookings.com and will be my very last!
I had booked a hotel in Tucson, AZ for the gem show, and drove all through the night about 12 hours. When I got into Tucson, my hotel that I had booked was under construction and it was fenced off. I contacted customer support, asking for them to put me into another hotel, or to use the money that was already spent towards another hotel for the night. They said they couldn't do anything but refund me, between 7-12 business days. I had only emergency money left in my account due to the gem show and peoples acceptances of cash only for purchases. They had told me to ask somebody else to pay for my hotel since I wouldn't BSs getting my refund for the trip. Completely unprofessional and terrible customer service. The first person I talked to was a broken record of saying "Sorry". I wanted results not apologies, but they do not care.
I have proof, but the file size is the image is 3mb too large.
Booked a hotel, canceled, and refused to return money while also lying about talking to the hotel where I booked. I reached out to the hotel in question and spoke to the Director who stated Booking.com never reached out to them, however, they were not holding and money and not charging me. Booking stated they did, will not be using it again. Booking.com stopped talking to me as soon as I called them out. Contact with booking.com only holds money if the hotel holds it. The hotel in question also stated they had issues with booking.com in the past and were not happy with it.
I've tried to call to confirm my flight schedule change only to be transferred and shortly after hung up on 6x's. Most of the reps are rude, argumentative, short and unhelpful. They cut you off when you're talking and do not allow you to explain that you don't need to be transferred to the same department you were just in. I was also trying to cancel two passengers on my booking and spent 3hrs, most of which was spent calling back after being hung up on and repeating myself. Before I could get the words REFUND out of my mouth I was interrupted and told my flight was changed and I had to confirm. Round and round on this merry go ride I went, time I will never get back. I will gladly pay any amount to never deal with them again. If you value your time in the slightest do not book with them.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
