The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

Becaful when you read on booking.com that you can cancel without cost or charges. It is all lies. Their business exposes you to forex risk. This company lacks integrity and do not stand by their words. They are cheat.
I paid nearly 200 for a hotel room and it was dirty. The staff were awful. The pool stunk and looked like shreks swamp! Booking gave me 16 bucks and was like your lucky you got that! When I called corporate of the actual hotel they said they would've already refunded me had I not booked through a third party but since I did I would need to get booking to refund. They won't give me a refund. I think it's a complete scam.
THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY TO BOOK ANYTHING! MY HUSBAND HAS TO TRAVEL FOR WORK AND WAS BOOKED FROM TUESDAY-SATURDAY. DUE TO MY HUSBANDS JOB HE WAS SCHEDULED TO GO IN ON A WEDNESDAY INSTEAD. SO I CALLED TO MAKE THE CHANGE. EVERYONE I SPOKE TO WHEN I CALLED ABOUT 8 TIMES SAID THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE RESERVATION AND THAT THEY COULD NOT CANCEL ON THEIR END. EVEN THOUGH I BOOKED WITH THEM! I DONT KNOW WHAT KIND OF COMPANY THEY ARE RUNNING HERE WHERE THEY CAN'T CANCEL A RESERVATION. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, IF YOU HAVE ANY ISSUES JUST KNOW THAT YOU WILL NOT BE HELPED!
I had to cancel a trip because I had covid. Booking.com promised me that it could be done and that I should be ok. I ended up not going to the hotel and I was charged $191. Why did they tell me that it would be ok if they were not able to change the dates?
We have had a reservation of appartment through booking.com in Zagreb. When we arrived, nobody opened and we were not able to stay in the ordered accomodation. With 3 small children we were looking late in the night for another possibility to stay for night. When I wanted to give a bad review to the appartment, I was told that I couldnt, because we were not accomodated in the appartment. A terrible joke! You cant use what you paid for and even you couldnt give a bad review when you are cheated. From this time I use booking.com just to see a prices and reviews for accomodation, but never order something through this page.
Watch out! Booking.com does NOT have your back with their zero cancellation fees. They will give you the run around just to make their commission. This is a scam and a waist of money! I have been dealing with booking.com for almost a month now trying to receive my refund, and they want to blame it on the hotel. What a JOKE, and total run-around scam of a website. I also tried calling and how convenient, their number was busy. If I could save someone else from getting ripped off please take this into consideration. Book only on the actual hotel site.
Bad customer service/support. No help from England. Avoid at all costs. They do not support their customers.
They will cancel your flight, send you an email with no contact information, reference numbers that don't work once you do locate their phone number online, then use a third party company to manage the problems they created, emails go back and forth with zero actions. Phone line frequently gives a busy signal. Do not use this scam site. I can't believe they are still in business with this garbage service. Stick with Expedia or the airlines themselves, although in the case of Avianca... but that's a different unpleasant review. This site will frustrate you beyond belief if you use if for airline tickets. DO NOT USE IT FOR THAT, YOU WILL BE SO SORRY.
I have used booking.com for many years without a problem. But after a BAD experience with Jacó Lodge in Costa Rica, I learned that when a hotel capriciously cancels a reservation, the offended customer cannot leave a review on Booking.com, a very convenient escape method for a bad hotel. I guess I will now use Booking.com only for searching and will use hotels.com or Expedia or TripAdvisor or actual hotel websites for making reservations
I've been trying to get a refund since August for a trip I took in October. I've spent days and hours trying to get this refund. Alaska airline canceled the flight in August. I immediately ask for a refund. I know Alaska cut a refund check to you an 1/14/22. It's my money and I am intitled to it since Alaska canceled flight not me. I will never use booking again and I have nothing good to say about booking.com. It's been a nightmare! I've asked several agents for management but they all say there is no management. They suck!
DO NOT RECOMMEND! BEWARE, THEIVERY AT ITS FINEST.
Half of my sons flight home was canceled by the airline. (Austin to Florida), the Florida to Kentucky was not... with no other appropriate flight options available, we canceled the second leg of his trip. Got the refund letter on Jan 2. Called airline a few days later (holidays) they say it was refunded to cc on file. That cc was thru booking.com. Gave it till the end of the month to follow up, couple weeks to get from airline to b. C then a couple more from b. C to me... I've called booking twice and both times I'm told there's no time frame for the refund. The first call I was told that it showed they had NOT received the refund from the airline, but with further review, it appeared as though it HAD been received and my issue was being escalated for answers, with no time frame for me to expect any kind of answer or the refund. Though she mentioned 72hrs so I gave them a few more days. The second resulted in them NOT receiving the refund, no escalation, and STILL no expected time frame. I have never experienced this. As far as I understood, a financial institution is responsible for getting redunds (or other transactions) completed within a certain time (not seen it take more than 14 business days, but MAYBE 30)... not according to booking.com they say the refund could take as many as 1 day, 1 yr, 10 yrs, even 100... wtaf!?!? There's noone to go to for further help. B. C: "Or you can email the complaint department." Me: what's the email address, who do I contact? B. C:"I told you, email the complaint dept". Basically, they'll get your refund to you when they feel like it, IF they feel like it. Meanwhile, I'm paying interest on a flight that should have been refunded on top of the additional cost to get my boy back to school on time. Booking.com is a crooked company and their customer service is a joke.
Booking.com list hotel for $185 per night, little did I know the second night was $374, What a scam. We also search and booked a Pet Friendly hotel. Nothing mentioned about added pet charges at the hotel. We called the hotel after the booking and they charge $200 pet fee OMG! I could cancel the whole thing and I'm still charged $200 less than 24 hrs after booking. DO NOT Use Booking.com!
Booking send me a "refund email" for a cancellation done (car rental) back in August, after 6 month I still don't get any refund, is impossible to find them
This site is a scam, as I say this as they claim on their site that they do price match, but when you get the same hotel and same room on the same day, for a lower price at another site, they state it's not the same cancellation policy so they cannot price match it, to me, this is the biggest marketing scheme ever, and it is truly hidden bait and switch, and for that reason, I find this site to be DISHONEST and advise any travelers to avoid using this site, as you will get burnt in one way or other.
I rented a car through one of their affiliates, rentalcars.com. When I got to the desk at Thrifty, they said the reservation had been cancelled weeks ago and they would not recognize my voucher. Booking.com simply refuses to acknowledge their mistake and reimburse my money. Nobody in customer service responds.
I have used Booking.com for many years. I always read reviews from other guests before actually booking and always book a room that I can cancel should I need to. At Genius level 2 I get great prices. I have never had bad service or stayed at a hotel that was awful or even bad. I guess I am just lucky to make the 'right' choices…
They suck... Horride C. S. No response, they should be shut down. After 3 days no tespinse, nothing. I will never use them again...
I recently realized I was going to be overpaying anywhere from $68-115 for my upcoming hotel stay of 2 nights. I collected my data which 100% matched my booking and sent it all in more than 24 hours prior to check in per policy and for several days I got the run around from staff. I was lied to several times because I confirmed things with the hotel which they didn't like. I was told things didn't match because they made it where it couldn't like changing the words on their site from "standard 2 queen room" to "queen 2 queen room" which I confirmed with hotel was same room type and not a suite but I wasn't given my full credit due to that wording. I was hung up on twice during this experience after 40 mins on hold. Very upsetting customer service. I have used this app for many years and after this and feeling constantly lied too and undervalued as a customer I will no longer use them sadly.
We requested a flight to and from specific cities... they changed to a different city because there wasn't anything available... but there was no mention that Hey, since there isn't anything available within the time frame at this airport we are switching you to other cities... here you go... they switched us from BUR to LGB OMG... this is almost a two hour difference to travel to the airport... I called within 5 minutes of booking and got the most unbelieveable run around... we have to ask the airline for permission... yada yada yada... I'm like just let me me cancel and I will reschedule the correct way... blah blah blah... and then Let me speak with a manager. NO. I'm like WHAT? NO... I won't transfer you to a supervisor... they're busy with important things.
NEVER... I told him, EVER again, will I use Booking.com. I will cancel everything and NEVER use your service! This is the WORST ever... The last time we used them we canceled a rental car within the time frame specified and they and rebooked a different car for a different time. They promised no cancellation charge as it was not specified in the contract... but two weeks later... a cancellation charge popped up on my card. HATE bookings! They're not helpful and liars!
I regretted using booking.com and I never do it again. First of all they support the merchant not the customer. In my trip I tried to cancel few reservation but still fighting for the refund. In one area says call this number which is an international call and I had to buy a calling card to call yet I was on hold until my minutes run out. Cost me $20 for nothing. It looks good but when you are in a trouble, you are on your own.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
