The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

I booked a hotel stay on Booking.com and completed the purchase for a room on
3/19/22. When I arrived at the hotel, the front desk informed me that there were no
Rooms available and that they would not be able to accommodate me. The front desk
Staff informed me that booking.com overbooked and were selling hotel rooms that are
Not available. I was not able to stay. I contacted booking.com and they have yet to
Refund me. They did not distribute the money to the hotel and did not provide me with a
Room. Now they are saying they do not want to give me a refund. All I want is my
Money back. Selling a product that isn't available is basically fraud. This is
Unacceptable.
Do not use this booking site. Requested a on day delay in check-in date. Their representative lied about contacting the hotel to change date and raised my my reservation rate $49.00 per day for the remaining 5 days. Spoke to 5 representatives to request change and none called be back or made the change. I will never use them again and suggest you not either.
Tried to book a hotel in Chicago, comes back saying there is an issue with my payment card and to use another. When I try to pay again I'm told I've already paid, and can't process another payment, and my American Express still shows a charge from them, but I've received no confirmation email. You can't speak to anyone if you don't have a confirmation number and pin for their automated system. I now have no idea if I have a reservation or not. Useless site and company if you can't get help with what should be a simple issue.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY OR THIS WEBSITE! IT IS A COMPLETE SCAM AND WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY, THE ONLINE BOOKING CHANGES YOUR DATES WHEN YOU SUBMIT AND WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER IS VERY RUDE.
Hotel was meant to be 4 star not even 1 star. Dirty sheets, mould, cockroach poo in cupboards, 2 inch dust under bed, bed broken and could feel springs, tiny room, no sound barrier was given ear buds! Hotel didn't care when left early was rude called booking.com to ask for help getting money back they hide behind hotel having no refund policy. Their site was misleading strongly recommended you never trust or use booking.com
I made a review through booking.com for a property in Juneau, AK. The property advertised that no cancellations would be accepted, however it was portrayed that changes could be accommodated. I requested a date change through the booking.com message portal and the host denied, saying I would have to contact them directly for a modification request. I contacted the host directly and finally reached them after two weeks of multiple ignored phone calls and emails, who then informed me they would credit me for a future booking if I cancelled the existing booking. Having this exchange documented in email, I cancelled the reservation and requested new dates. The host then said that since I had cancelled I was not eligible for a refund and that I was no longer welcome to stay at the property, they refused to credit my old reservation toward a new one as they had promised. I contacted booking.com regarding the fact the host had intentionally defrauded me and booking.com simply insisted that they would handle the issue internally and would not issue me a refund or accept changed dates. They clearly have no desire to resolve issues with dishonest hosts, so I will never do business with them again and you shouldn't either.
I've booked a taxi to airport in Budapest, paid it with my credit card. After few hours I received this message:
Unfortunately we have been unable to take payment from your credit/debit card ().
Since you have not provided us with a new payment method we unfortunately had to cancel your booking.
Money wasn't returned!
They got me out.of $600 wouldn't refund my flight ticket and wouldn't let.me re book my trip
They don't tell you you have to make changes within 24hrs of your flight! Will never book threw there site again!
The customer service is absolutely appalling. When speaking to the customer service representative I had asked to speak with the manager. They responded with "why do you need to speak with my manager." "no, you don't have a valid reason to speaking with the manager." I spent more than 5 minutes going back-and-forth with the customer service rep to transfer me to his manager. I was repeatedly told that I did not have a valid reason to speak to the manager. 1. I booked a hotel with this website. 2. Booking.com charged my card. 3. The hotel never received my reservation. Those are valid reasons to speak with a manager. THIS WEBSITE IS A SCAM. Don't waste your time. Book else where.
A godsend for people trying to save while also planning ahead. Bummer that rewards points usually don't count using this service, but understandable considering flexibility.
It was $200 cheaper to book directly with the hotel for the same type of room for the same nights.
In other words, an identical reservation but saved $200 by booking directly with the hotel.
Apart from one costumer service agent who was very kind and empathetic, my experience with booking.com which so far had been OK turned up tipo a nightmare. From failing to dispute with the hotel the cancellation of a reservation that only happened in the first place because of their buggy website to having operators hanging up the phone on me or gaslighting me and shifting the blame to the hotel I booked through their website. Horrible, disrespectful, abusive. I will not use this service again and will close my account as soon as this dispute is solved.
Been trying to cancel/change hotel dates. Can't seem to get a response. Won't make the mistake of using them again. I hope I'm not out my 403.00
They stated one price and then overcharged my credit card by $110. Said they would refund-didn't. Should give a zero.

I had to cancel a flight because the airline changed my flight time by more than 4 hours. That did not work with the rest of my plans. I cancelled 6 months ago, the airline has confirmed that they gave the funds back to Booking.com but after 20 calls over the last 6 months, I still have no refund. THEY ARE HORIBLE!
I've saved for 3 years to surprise my sister a 5 day stay at a resort in Florida. I came to find out, two seconds after booking, I couldn't cancel (like the site said, free of charge) I would have been charged $604 to cancel. Then (both Resorts have said Booking.com has been made aware of this too many times to count) Booking.com set my vacation 12 miles away from where my other 9 family members were staying, so only once in 5 days did we all get together. One is called Vistana Resort in Orlando (where I thought we were staying with all my other family members and the other Resort is called Vistana Villages. Both Resorts put 100% blame on Booking.com, it's the only way you can book one of the places, so I spent a small fortune on cabs going back and forth from our place (Just me and my twin) to the other Resort where the rest of my family was. Terrible, Terrible! 4-6 hours wasted in calling and waiting for cabs to pick us up! Every single plan we made for the week had to be adjusted because of us. Disney, Cocoa Beach, Clearwater Beach, our Helicopter Tour, just everything. These are Resorts where you can see your sister and brother-in-law in the next building, or maybe four buildings over. You never have to leave the Resort if you don't want too. They had 7 outdoor pools and I think 12 hottubs, on-site Grocery Store, Gym. So we would just meet up at one of the buildings and go from there. Now, everyone had to wait until the two of us showed up. So disgusting, heart-wrenching. We didn't get a rental car. And it could have been the happiest celebration of a lifetime between all of us# had Booking.com just once had their $#*! together. First time I used them, last time too!@
I canceled 2 rooms, in plenty of time. I was charged full price for cancellation. They told me the Hotel charged, I called the Hotel only to be told Booking.com did. Still fighting with them for a refund!
I am beyond exasperated that booking.com (priceline) is still in business. I booked a trip for myself and my 2 daughters. Due to covid the event was cancelled. I called them 48 hours after booking and was told they could NOT refund my hotel amount. I lost $350 on my hotel. They told me my airfare would be available as a credit and to contact the airlines when I was ready. Well yesterday I was ready. The airlines could not help me, booking.com could not help me. I spent two days getting the go around with both companies. They said the ticket had expired three weeks ago, yet I was given no notice that it could expire or that it was about to expire. The supervisor continued to say there was NOTHING he could do. Booking.com took $1500 from me and could not give me any form of credit. It was basically like giving them free money. They were happy to take it and not help a customer at all. I would spend a little more and book through the hotel or airline site, they are always more accommodating then a 3rd party who simply just wants your money. You pay for what you get and frankly I paid for one big $1500 headache and heartache!
Believe me, it will only take you one bad experience booking through a 3rd party. Take warning... I will NEVER EVER do it again!
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
