The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

In May 2021, Booking.com took full payment of 4435Euros for our 2 week reservation for a Greek villa for August this year. Last week they emailed to say they had made a 'mistake' with the price and we had 24hrs to pay an additional 4765Euros or they would cancel the booking and return our payment. We emailed to say we considered this a breach of contract but their reply did not answer any of our points, and repeated their demand for more money. Whilst we tried to get advice on what to do, booking.com refunded our payment. We have lost money on the exchange rate and also on the flights we have booked. Booking.com also were re-advertising the villa for the dates we had booked and paid for while they were demanding more money from us; very sharp practice. This company should be avoided at all costs.
My friend he staying in Windrose hostel Istanbul it's actually very clean and good service too very comfortable and nice staff work in there.and good price too I advise my friends when they go to Turky they book there
I booked a reservation for 6 nights in Sarasota. Cancelled my booking in less than 40 min and they kept 300$, booking.com says it's not them and the property says it's not them!
I didn't check these reviews and it was a complete scam. Not going to use that site again. Booking.com is a complete waste of time. I got my refund eventually but it took time. And was super annoyed.
We have used Booking.com for hotels for over 5 years all over the world. Last year I would've given them a 5 star review, but I never had to deal with their customer service. I booked my first flight with Booking.com this year, and when the airlines changed the flight, Booking never informed us. We are losing money on non-refundable hotels (also booked through Booking) & busses, and Booking.com will not do anything to make up for their mistake. They're customer service is useless and not accommodating.
I tried to book a room at oyo hotel in las Vegas it was listed for 165.48 cnd
I went to book it it looked like it had gone through Booking had taken my money off of my credit card
Then i get an email saying that it did not go through and thry were refunding me my money but it would take 7 days Then i check their web site a hour i see the room is still available for 165.48 I call booking up i was told it did not go though because of internet failure That bull $#*! they want me to buy the higher price Room Booking should honor that price because a room was offered for 165.48 i paid 165.48 off of my credit card offer and acceptance it a contract If they had not taken that Payment I would not have cared
Had to cancel hotel reservation the day of due to last minute fight cancellation from Frontier. Complete run around with Booking.com. Called hotel and they said they would waive fees and cancel stay. When I spoke to Booking.com they blamed hotel and charged us $272.72 and kept reservation open so they could continue to charge. Run around. Stay away from Booking.com.
Unfortunately I had the worse experience while traveling, and when I ask from help from customer service, they did not help me at all. I explain the situation to them as follow. I booked a room with them online and when I arrived to the property they informed that they did not had any business with booking.com and that I had to pay for the room on site. I contacted booking customer service they weren't able to help nor even able to find another property where I would be able to sleep that night. I had to find my own accommodation. After I came back from traveling I try explaining the situation to customer service in the USA they did not help either. I asked for a refund they said will take about 12 business days then they changed it and gave me a 20 day date I had to have my bank intervened and reimburse me the money because booking.com did not comply. They also said they will reimbursed me the difference from the other hotel I got on my own which they did not do either. Unfortunately I will never have business with them and I just hope you don't have to go thru all this trouble. I look on their site and the hotel still is advertised as part of their deals. I asked them to pull it down and they have not done it, for me that is fraud. I am pretty disappointed and I don't know where to report them. Thank you for reading and good luck in your travels people.
I hate giving them even a 1 star review because they are not even worth that. I booked international flights through booking.com in January. I called to have the date of the return flight changed and told it was going to be a $195 per person charge. Little did the very unprofessional customer service rep that I finally got on the phone (after being placed on hold for 30 minutes) I did my homework on the fare increase before I called to have the flight changed. When I asked him why the $195 fee per person change I was told because of fair increase. Total lie! I looked at both booking.com and the airline website and the new fare was only $63 more per person. When I tried to explain this to the not so customer service orientated rep who took my call he very rudely cut me off and went on what sounded like a "scripted" spill of that the price I was looking at was for a new fare not existing and I would have to pay the difference to change the
Flights. When I began to out to him that I would have to pay the difference in fare and it's not $195 per person but $63 per person he pretended as if he couldn't hear me and hung up on me. I also called the airline and was told it was only $35 per person to change my flight because it's an existing reservation but it would have to be changed through booking.com. I filed a complaint with booking.com and yet to hear back from them other than auto generated email. I will be canceling the hotel bookings I have made with them for my upcoming trip. Stay away from this company at all cost! Very sketchy to say the least.
We had booked a hotel for an upcoming Jays game at the end of June. After buying our game tickets, the hotel was cancelled without explanation. Not impressed. Talked to Booking.com and they said they might be able to pay the difference but AFTER the stay. Sounds too fish.
Becareful when booking a hotel with booking.com. They do not back there bookings. The hotel has any right to give you any room, so the room can be in the worse area of hotel. They are third party booking so they are given the left over rooms. The hotel has the right to do as they please. The hotel doesn't have to help you and booking.com won't help you. I stayed at Avanti international in Orlando. I stayed one night instead of the three. The place was so rude and the room was horrible. I lost three nights pay, booking would only refund me 30.00. I learned a very hard lesson. I will never ever use booking.com again and I just want to warn people to be very careful if they are going to use this site.
I did a booking for a service taxi and my booking was canceled. They say was me, but I dindnt cancel nothing, was a app mistake? I don't know.
I know i contacted them to amicably reactivate my booking or refund my money and they said they can't do that! Will I lose my money and continue without the service?
Please. It is not fair. I am a booking.com for many years, but this time was my fist time to use a taxi service and happened this. :/
Our holiday was booked 3 months ago and cancelled 3 weeks before. Booking.com took absolutely no steps to sort this out and the property claims that shareholders booked the same time period prior to us. The attitude and lack of interest is very off putting.
No longer using booking.com. I received a confirmation for a stay at a motel (6 nights) for $513.02. I stayed for 3 of the 6 nights expecting a credit of somewhere near half of $513.02. But no... I learned that booking.com sent motel 8 a charge for the 6 nights of $906! Yet, the confirmation I received from booking.com stated in bold letters "The final price shown is the amount you'll pay to the property"! Ie, $513.02. I can't really blame the motel, but had I known I would be paying $906 dollars, I would had figured something else out. Now here is the kicker. The amount of my stay for 3 nights just happened to be $513.02! What's the chances? Booking.com didn't make good on the error, and motel 8 did not (again, don't really expect motel 8 to make good). In the future, should I ever book "ANYTHING", I will need to double-check and double-check again! Call the motel, etc. What is one to do when arriving at the motel with no other place to stay other than the car?
Booking.com made a mistake in a reservation I made in December, 2021, but refused to modify it even when Diamond Resorts, which owns the facility I was going to stay, agreed to modify the reservation. I ended up booking directly with The Suites at Fall Creek in Branson, MO that is managed by Diamond Resorts. Booking.com claimed they had no access to my information to cancel the reservation I made through them, neither were they ready to speak with The Suites at Fall Creek in Branson, MO, nor refund my money. They then asked me to contact Bedsonline.com, whom I had no business with. So, Booking.com charged me for a reservation I did not make.
To get your peace of mind, I strongly advise everyone to avoid doing business with Booking.com. They are scammers with customer service agents in Singapore, India, Egypt, El Salvador, etc., and they should be out of business altogether.
Horrible Horrible Horrible
Their customer service exceptionally untrained. I just lost over 3000 dollars cause they passed me around and did not responded to me on time. I will go Youtube on my experience
Outstanding service negative experience, service and stuff also the property all 1 start are mystifies a mean of safe and professional accomodations.
Stuff can't understand or communication is poor, money trump abuser l, pay them stay with our accomodations. Not refund provocation and insinuations - tragedy, online rubbish sense.
Property reception could show more responsibility just after 3 hours arrive at the property and treatenig do not provide or allowed for accomodations with out radical reason, just request to booking.com Cancel the reservation reason of not show customer.
What happened next?
Booking.com after 3 time of 30 minutes call about incident directly speak with support - they are just cancel and do not refund money event do not included any content about more.
They overcharged you on your credit card and claimed they can't find out why and of course they don't return any overcharged amount. Such A SCAM!
Whoever runs the back office has poor communication skills. When I tried to check in and showed him my confirmation, he attempted to lock it in the manager's office until I requested it back as proof of the reservation.
This is supposed to be a bed and breakfast. When I inquired about food, the response was "... we serve no food." This means no meals, no vending machines, not even a coffee area in the lobby for customers who wait for initial check-in. No breakfast, lunch, dinner snacks provided whether paid or unpaid. Then you are not a bed and breakfast. False advertising.
The outside of the building is deteriorating, unkempt with dried vines. I was given one old towel and not a set for a least one individual (solo). You do not receive a set, that is (1) large towel, (1) hand towel, and (1) washcloth. Nor was a towel provided for the bathroom floor. When he returned with one it had several stains not even of a consistent color as well as a hole. One stain was black, another was of a food stain. When I saw what he laid on the floor, I placed it outside the door to the left as it appeared to be a rag used when repairing a car or to clean something in the kitchen. The bathroom window has no curtain, covering or shade and faces the street view. I had to request a piece of fabric before taking a shower for privacy.
My personal property was stolen last night. I asked for the police. He goes and returns with elder male who pretends not only that he doesn't speak English well, but also stated initially that he did not know the number to the police/station. Eventually I was provided with one.
This place looks abandoned on the outside and you have to be a locksmith magician to open the door to your room after the first try. The only way the personal property was taken had to be in the middle of the night while I was sleeping as I had it lying on the bed. Major creep factor, violation of privacy and you know else was likely to happen.
They provide you with little to no toiletries. No shampoo, no conditioner, no lotion. I had to request for the toilet to be cleaned properly because fecal matter was stuck to the left of the commode. They provide you with a bar of soap about the size (a bit smaller) than the pinky finger of a normal sized young woman.
Don't stay here. Do not even look at the property. It is likely cursed. Low standards. No concern for the well-being of guests. Poor management. Pay the extra 30 pounds and book your stay at legitimate business establishment that adheres to the basic quality standards of receiving guests.
STOLEN property has yet to be recovered.
I book with Booking.com last February. I was told I could cancel without a charge by a certain date. I did have to cancel reservation and did it prior to the date given. It was a complicated transaction because I could not reach them by phone I had to do it on the computer and I had to pay a $37.00 charge to do so. I was never informed that there would be a CHARGE TO CANCEL. On top of that I was charged for a night on my next visa bill. I will NEVER use a booking company again. We have done so twice before and have been very disappointed.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
