The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

I "like" when she (host) threatens with pepper spray, because you dare to argue with her.
Calle Juan Ortega 32, Alicante, Spain
Because you are not allowed to return after 23pm after easter processions (like carnaval) in Alicante.
It was not described in her rules, but do you think she cares about it?
She gets mad crazy and calls the police.
But she is free to return 5am and make the noise everywhere. If you like to play the master and slave then you found a good place to try.
She talks loudly with her friend 6am on phone, then comes to bathroom and asks why I making the noise with water.
If you argue you will get evicted, without the refund. And it happened.
Not the first time in her accommodation history. As she has another account and the same story happened to another traveller from Austria in her property
She talks with her dog and with herself frequently. Come, listen and enjoy
You can sniff smoke of cigarettes, which she will spread to the flat, because she likes to close the ventillation. If you open, she will find and close again.
No refund refund from booking.com
No INVOICE from the property
I booked for my family and a friend's family. They never sent a confirmation email There is no way to communicate this and resolve it.
I accidentally made a reservation with the wrong dates within an hour I tried to change it. Booking.com will not allow me because they said the property was not answering the phone. So I called the property myself and they answered and told me there was plenty of availability 2 months later booking.com has yet to help me change my reservation. Telling me the property still does not answer that is a lie cuz I called today and they answered.
They took 500 dollars out of my account and said they can't refund it. Then they proceed to say go to the store and purchase a card for another 500 and then they would cancel the complete refund in 90 business days. Who has $1000 to throw away. I have kids and bills. I just don't understand thieves. My hard earned money stolen. No refund.
I booked a private residence through Booking a month in advance of my travels. Host was supposed to send check-in instructions at least a week ahead of my booking. No instructions were sent, despite my multiple attempts to contact Booking and the host all the way up through the day of check-in. Booking then canceled my reservation, blatantly lied about me being No Show, and rejected my dispute through my credit card.
Booking is on my blacklist, do not use unless you want to be stranded with no accommodation in a foreign country, I would never go back again.
I had a reservation booked weeks in advance at a Days Inn in Portsmouth, VA. Unbeknownst to me, the hotel canceled 30 mins before my arrival. They claimed they tried to run my card and it was declined. This was total BS as I had $84,000 in that bank account. Basically, the hotel - all hotels - lose money if a customer books any 3rd party ap so they will cancel and make more money if someone walks up and pays the regular nightly rate. This is what they did here, cancelled my reservation - lying about the credit card decline -because someone walked up and paid $115 as opposed to my $84 reservation. I contacted Booking.com and told them of this and that I had to pay $20 more to get a room and no offer to reimburse me. Just a 'sorry for the inconvenience.' I told them, 'Well, sorry for the loss of a customer.' They didn't care. Avoid this company. They don't care about you and will hang you out to dry before losing a penny of their own money.
Liars. The money was neither transferred to the hotel or returned to us for two years. The same lie every time you call, wait a few more days and the money will be transferred soon. Not a single letter was answered. Not all consultants provide specific information but lie to both the hotel and us. Two years! Don't trust them, money just stolen.
This review is about their rental car division. I paid for car A (which I wanted) and they gave me car B (smaller, not enough room, not what I wanted). Bottom line - don't ever rent from rentalcars.com. Yes... you WILL get a car. NO, you will NOT get the car you PRE-PAID for. I ended up speaking to 5 customer reps during the course of a 72-minute call. Result? "We will look into your case, sir." I've probably booked dozens of hotels on Booking over the years. But, because of their choice to ignore their mistake, I choose to never use them again - and share my experience on reviews like this.
Wish I'd have read reviews before I booked my hotel on this website. Booking.com offers a price match, however the difference is $300.00 and they keep telling me the reservation doesn't match for the price match. I've sent them the website link, screen shot, etc. I went to the hotels website directly and that's where the Price is $350.00 cheaper! I can't cancel thru booking, as they want to charge me $515.00, the same day I booked. What a ripoff!
Hi, I am writing this review fully disappointed at bookings for having fake people on the site who steal money. I was having guests arriving in my country went to bookings and booked, sometime after I was sent an email from bookings detailing I should pay before a certain date and when I did, the property supposedly canceled my stay and I haven't been able to reach them since. Its a horror for people using the site. Please be cautious and always pay after you have seen the property/ been/ or arrived at location. Now the LAVISH VILLA is not even on the site where I booked but I was able to obtain some screenshots to prove my experience.
It's not the first time that I make a reservation that is very desappointing and not at all like the description in the site of Booking.com... I asked to get a refund and got NEVER been understood and reimboursed... I won't book with them again even tough I was a "Genius 3" (which means 'very good client").
When you pay $259.66 for a motel room and you have a brother that has just been placed on Hospice, they refund $10. Booking.com should be shut down by the FTC
Booked a hotel in Florida. Booking. Com texted my wife and said the hotel was having electrical problems. We would have to cancel or stay at a motel 10 miles away. Cancel for a full refund. Later that day my credit card was refunded $35.00 and was charged a $815.00 cancellation fee. I'm still trying to recover my money, and customer help desk, just hangs up on me. This is a complete scam. Do not believe the commercials. Instead of Booking. Yeah, they should have said, Booking. SCAM
I thought I had reserved a stay in "Pueblo Mágico" Taxco, Guerrero but since Booking.com itself had no more hotel vacancy they diverted my options to a city an hour away. The website carefully hides this from view and si I unknowingly reserved at the Hotel Centenario. I realized this the morning of the prográmeles stay But Because I am unfamiliar with the area I decided to go thruough with the reservation. Only to learn it was 60 km away and not 30 km as the hotel personel told me. At the hotel, several employees where well aware of this modus operandi sin other guests had been diverted on many occasion.
Also a hidden comission is charged u pon arríval. The website price of stay was 2200 but I was charged 2681 pesos with no reason as to why I wasn'n informes previously.
Worst service with no reason they canceled our reservation today in NY, just a couple hours before we got into the city. We were travelling and then we read the message we webt to the hotel and they charged us twice the price we vooked months in advance, unfortunately we had to pay because is late at night we don't know anyone in the city our only option was staying on the street…. But we have no money even for stay the rest of the weekend. The only answer from Booking is sorry not our fault. NEVER EVER AGAIN we will use or recommend this nasty page
This is terrible experience to coop with booking.com. A guest booked two rooms for two nights (25th -27th of March) in my place (Booking number: *******786), but the guests didn't show up and I marked as No Show on Booking.com system following Booking.com's procedures. After that I was NOT able to get his credit card detail, even I am sure his credit card has been validated by Booking.com. Then on 28th of March I give a phone call to customer service to explain what happened, the customer service told me that, "Don't worry, booking.com financial team will charge from guest and provide the virtual payment detail for me before 2nd of April". However, until 2nd of April, booking.com financial team cancelled this reservation with a reason of "This reservation's no-show fee could not be collected from the guest.". So, I did a phone call to the customer service again on 8th of April, the CS confirm with me that reservation was cancelled by booking.com, not me, not guest. The funny thing is, that same guest booked a room for two nights (29th April to 1st May) again with me (Booking number: *******338). And under this booking, I can see the mobile phone number is exactly same as the previous reservation. And also, his Card validated by Booking.com again... Obviously, the financial team on Booking.com could make the charge on his card, just don't want to transfer to me. After this, no matter how I connect CS, they just reject my request at all. Booking.com is stealing my money like this! Break the law, I really hope some economic police should involve this case. If they do this kind of stealing every day per certain mounts of host, think about it, how much money they could stealing, billions of billions...
DO NOT USE THEM! This site pops up when you try to go to any brand car rental and appears to be the car rental agency itself. I travel a great deal and always book directly with car rental agencies - not an online booking company that makes it's money by ripping people off. Their website states "free cancellation". Every car rental company that I use allows me to cancel up to the time I pick up the car. When my flight was changed 12 hours before departure I had to cancel the reservation and booking.com charged me for the entire rental.
I booked an accomodation by filtering by pool and bar, when I arrived to the hotel, both facilities were not available. I sent 2 message to Booking customer service and I opened a complaint and I have never got an answer...
The customer service was the worse I had ever seen. They canceled my hotel reservation without agreement. Furthermore, they asked me to buy booking.com gift card at CVS in order to rebook the hotel for me. I was so disappointed about it. Even senior manager was not being helpful at all. I won't book anything through booking.com again.
Second worst company I've dealt with in the hospitality world, nudged out only by Marriott. Claim they "price match" but then pulled the sketchiest dodge of all time not to have to honor it. And their supervisor was a snotty jerk who couldn't have been less helpful.
Do yourself a favor: use them solely as a research tool. Then book directly through the hotel and benefit from their special rates and actual understanding of the word "hospitality."
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
Booking.com provides online bookings of hotels, resorts, hostels, and other travel accommodations around the world. The site attempts to separate itself from rival reservation sites by offering deals and its own hotel reviews. Booking.com is a subsidiary of Priceline.com, a publicly traded company (Nasdaq: PCLN).
