I pre-paid my hotel through booking.com. After 12 hours of driving, when I got to the hotel they did not have my reservation listed. With 3 percent of battery left on my phone, and with two tired, hungry kids in the car, I called booking.com. After giving my reservation number, pin code and explaining my situation, customer support hung up on me FOUR times. Only on the fifth phone call, do I get a resolution.
I made it to the hotel Ramada Inn by airport and the reservation was not done. After driving 10 hours, I needed to wait over an hour to reach someone at customer service, then it took another 25 minutes for that person to reach out to the hotel and make the reservation. Alejandro at the Front desk show me when they made the reservation and then confirmation number came up, for him to give me the key. With all the others sites available, I advise everyone to stay far from booking. Com.
Most hotels I use hate booking.com because they manipulate rates, dates and even refunds. While I find full refunds available from hotels in most curcumstances, booking.com prefers to interfere, deny refund availability and chase away customers. Do not be angry with your hotel when these issues occur, just stop using booking.com
Booking.com sold me a direct international flight ticket where the flight number has not been in operation for more than 3 years.
Impossible to get a hold of them, and I ended having to pay for another ticket to reach my destination.
I wish there was an option for zero
Worst customer service ever. It took over 4 months to get a 700 Euros refund. Had to call at least 15 times and each call got told different response. Would not even consider any compensation for the delay and the aggravation caused due to the delays and the calls I had to make. Each call had a difference promise from their customer service team. They spend half and hour apologising reading the company script but do nothing about solving your issues. I will never ever ever ever use them again. Having seen the ratings they have I am not surprised why they have such low ratings. I am however totally shocked as to how they manage to stay in business with such bad customer service and reviews.
I had a highly disappointing experience with Booking.com regarding a supposedly fake apartment in Amsterdam. We were not only scammed out of 910 euros but also subjected to a distressing situation that's hard to put into words. Despite providing ample evidence of the scam, Booking.com and their customer service not only refused to refund the money but completely dismissed the matter. It's incredibly disgraceful and unprofessional. The company's behavior is nothing short of cheating and fraud, preying on innocent victims like us for their financial gain. It's essential for them to be held accountable for their actions, and if any semblance of professionalism remains, they should reach out to rectify the situation. This experience has left me frustrated and disappointed with Booking.com's lack of integrity and accountability.
Honestly I had a good experience with the customer service representative over the phone. I believe he did his best with my situation. What I am not satisfied with is the fact that only 2-3 weeks out from my hotel BOOKING date (let alone rental date) there is no way to refund my $132 rental because the hotel I checked out on the site was basically a scam. I won't use booking.com anymore, not because of anything the customer service representative did, but purely due to the poor moderation practices that booking.com itself uses to decide which hotels it is affiliated with. At the time of writing this, the hotel is STILL on the site for leasing which just further proves the point that booking.com is perfectly fine with stealing money through faulty reservations.
I booked 3 times cars through them and each time it was a very bad experience. Be ready that car rental companies will tell you that they cannot help cause you booked through booking, while the support team of booking.com is really bad, no help at all.
Pity cause the hotel booking is great.
I booked a room and paid on their website. I received a confirmation and pin number. When we arrived hours later, the manager of said hotel said they had no reservation for me and they were booked solid. We had been driving for over 10 hours and were exhausted. We were then asked by customer service to wait 30 minutes while they found comparable accommodations. We ate dinner at a restaurant near our supposed hotel, however the offer we received was at a sub-par location and not a King bed which was what I paid for. I was then told that it would take 7 - 10 days for a refund. We were forced to drive hours later to find another hotel on our own as a separate charge.
They will just blame you for their screw ups and refuse to resolve issues
Booking.com is literally disgusting. Their system rejected my modification request even though the property approved it, so we got screwed finding another place to stay last minute (ant infestation at the property we were staying at before) and then we showed up for our original booking and were told we were expected on the modified date. We almost lost our booking. I called and spent over an hour on the call with booking.com (50 minutes of which I spent on hold because they just keep putting you on hold) and I was told by both Mayar in and the supervisor Mazeen that everything was my fault because I used the online modifying option instead of calling a real person. But just to be clear, they were more than happy to try and blame the property first. This ONLINE business policy is to blame their customers for their ONLINE system not being reliable and then refusing to put a warning to that effect on the website because AND I QUOTE it "does work sometimes". I can't believe a business is allowed to operate this way.
Mean spirited, heartless company
Even though the booking is 2 weeks away, booking.com won't refund our payment even though we have supporting evidence of a heart attack and can't travel. Mean spirited, miserable, rotten company. Don't use them.
I make a booking for royal Inn motel in Sparta tn from. Booking.com and when I went there the property owner said that they did not have any Booking from Booking.com.i have suffer a lot because of them.i highly recommended NOT to go through Booking.com
Disappointing customer service experience.
Booking.com chose not to respond to reasonable request move out a booking due to current travel restrictions and took the option to charge a cancellation fee of 50%.
The service is a sham and endeavours to isolate itself from direct communication and does not log any request through the customer service app to fall back upon.
Don't waste your money go direct to the hotel and ask them to price match, guaranteed you will get a better result...

Terrible company, of the worst sort, we had an unavoidable situation arise that left my wife without a debit card to lodge with Avis, car rental booked via booking.com.Avis cancelled our booking and booking. Com refused point blank to refund us, except for the insurance element of the hire. Awful customer service. Will never ever use this parasitic company again. Beware avoid at all costs.
We used booking.com to book a room at studio 7 barker heights. I paid for the room immediately on booking.com web sight we arrived at the hotel to be told that no rooms were clean so we could not stay at the hotel. It has been over 2 weeks and I still don't have a refund
Booking.com will not call and their is NO contact info to call them directly.
Do not use this sight. It is a TOTAL SCAM
They showed photo's of normal hotel rooms. Lobby looked ok. The room they gave us was Filthy. Mold in shower, Punch holes in the door both sides headboard had hand and foot prints and dried Semen running down it. Torn curtains. Filthy sheets. Stained walls. Smashed bureau with drawer missing and telephone was broken. Toilet looked like the $#*! pipe was leaking. Spider webs in room corners. Booking. Com refused to give our money back and so did the hotel.we were there only 3 hours and had booked a week.We were charged more than full price. Pakistani scum... A Dirty Brothel is all it is...
I booked an hotel here called Motel-6 Mississauga unfortunately this hotel does not even exist on getting there the property has already been sealed off and booking.com has refused refunding my hard earned money.
I have been travelling for decades, without a single problem. I booked several rooms through book.com for the first time and have had nothing but trouble. Payment policies are outdated and difficult to control/keep track of. Credit card information got mixed up. Email communication was horrific. I will NEVER use this site again.
My husband passed away two weeks before our trip to Virginia Beach.
We were only married for 8 months. I was devastated and wanted to cancel there was no option to do that! Do not book through this company they are awful. So sorry to learn the hard way. Will never use them again!
Booked and cancelled a reservation with 15 minutes. The following day my debit card was charged for a nights stay. By the time I realized it, my account had accumulated over $200 in overdraft fees. Have spoken to Booking.com who assured me a credit would be issued. Three weeks later, I'm still waiting. Would completely advise against ever using this site for any reason. Ridiculous! If I could give it negative stars, I would!
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
