My husband passed away two weeks before our trip to Virginia Beach.
We were only married for 8 months. I was devastated and wanted to cancel there was no option to do that! Do not book through this company they are awful. So sorry to learn the hard way. Will never use them again!
Booked and cancelled a reservation with 15 minutes. The following day my debit card was charged for a nights stay. By the time I realized it, my account had accumulated over $200 in overdraft fees. Have spoken to Booking.com who assured me a credit would be issued. Three weeks later, I'm still waiting. Would completely advise against ever using this site for any reason. Ridiculous! If I could give it negative stars, I would!

Do yourself a favour and stay at this charming guesthouse. The hosts are most welcoming and extremely savvy. Their art collection is amazing.
We stayed in for dinner, a wise decision.
Believe me, you will not be disappointed.
We arrived at our caravan to a disconnected unit.
No hot water electricity or heating.
Haven reconnected it, but the boiler didn't work.
Why is booking. Com letting places that are not fit for purpose?
Almost £300 for 3 nights last weekend in October, stay completely ruined by these people. Compensation offered £21.10
Avoid booking with these, cowboys without compassion.

Booking.com accept customer mis-statements, incorrect facts and outright lies without checking the veracity of comments even when the host points this out to Booking, Com's so called Review Panel. I was advised over the telephone that their only concern is if profanities are used and that bookers can make any comment regardless of accuracy or truth, what a system, I gave them an opportunity to review one such guest, my next step is to seek legal council for libel and threaten the writer, why should I have to go through this
Hotels and B and B's deliberately over rated probably for bigger share of commission. It is actually far far cheaper using a household name like travel lodge as there standards are extremely high because of the obvious reason of reputation. Used booking dot com. They are just a money making machine. Not interested in your holiday or if u had a pleasant stay or not. Also a site that tells lies. I have the proof. I hope this review will be helpful to at least one person.
Do not use booking.com under any circumstances, they took money from my card without my permission and have had me running in circles trying to get a refund, ive had the phone put down on me twice, been constantly asked for proof of bank statements, which I continue to send amongst other details, how these companies are allowed to continue whilst appearing to be fraudulent is amazing
Booked an apartment hotel for a night in Brussels. All of sudden there was an addition 50 euros "Cleaning Fee" taken by the company. I've put in formal complaints and said these hidden fees go against EU regulations, but the only reply I get form Booking.com is a simple copy paste email, saying this fee is mentioned in my booking confirmation email. I've told them many times that it's too late to inform the consumer until AFTER they've paid, but it's like talking to 5 year old children. It won't go into their brains. Seriously, stay clear of these scammer!
First few times I used them I thought they were fantastic. Straight forward OK cheap accommodation. Then latest dealings terrible. If you need to change, cancel enquire or check something its impossible.
Ended up in terrible accommodation, cancelled just inside the cancellation period still been charged and no refund.
Not worth the effort. Saved about £20 on my successful stays. Lost about £90 in clerical errors and no 'customer service' to deal with problems.
Bad customer support for hosts. No phone calls from them, only irrelevant emails 48-64 hours after being sent. Staff is incompetent. All they know is how to charge a commission each month. I'm absolutely disappointed.
I booked a flight with them. Never received a confirmation.and there's no reservation on the website. Money got charged on my credit card. Cannot reach these people through phone, just emails back and forth. Basically stole 4 thousand dollars from me
Used booking.com to reserve a hotel room in New York for an important business meeting months in advance. Traveling from Hawaii, booking.com informed me two days before my arrival that they cancelled my reservation. Horrible site! I will never use them again!
Computer generated responses to request to change booking after 3 days got nowhere, local office in Thailand very helpful and sorted out for an additional cost. Give them a miss and save yourself the hassle
After MANY phones calls and email back and forth with booking.com agents, they continue to come up with excuses as to why they will not do a price adjustment to honor their price match guarantee. I have sent numerous screen shots proving much lower prices (best was over $100 a night less with identical rooms available) on other sites (no discounts applied), including the actual hotel's site. Their latest excuse for refusing is that I selected a city view when I booked through them. I called the Manhattan hotel to confirm current pricing, and there is absolutely no difference in price. It just tells the hotel to place you on a higher floor. Getting through to booking.com customer service is a challenge in itself, but half a dozen times this morning is ridiculous. I am now waiting for a manager to call me back. So far, they are 15 minutes later than promised. Never again will I consider this site.

Got text from host while stood in doorway. Had to find our own alternative accommodation. Booking.com still not refunded our full payment several weeks later as apparently we were a no-show - despite evidence otherwise! They do very little to follow it up in the hope we will just forget about approx £200. Never use again, they do not care or wish to resolve matters when things go wrong - can easily see now why reviews for them are so terrible across the internet.
I cancelled my booking only a day after I booked it which was well into cancellation policy but one and half month later I'm still struggling to get my refund. Booking.com has been of no help as the property owner refused to pay me back.
Dishonest site giving unfair discount without any reasons I cancelled my account today as I was given a lower discount rate than my wife who was on a lower Genius tier. Customer support for this company is the worst I have ever experienced. Did not bother fixing anything. Don't understand why big companies keep using these pointless call centres which fulfill no purpose whatsoever. Stay away from this company whenever possible…
Will charge your account even though they claim full refund before certain dates. Awful, AWFUL customer service and extremely false advertising. Constant run around to get answers. Dispute all charges with your bank. 2020 scam artists.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.

Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.

I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.

Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
