The overall reputation of the company is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding its customer service and communication. While some long-term users have appreciated the quality of templates and ease of use, many express frustration over unresponsive support, billing issues, and the loss of website content. Common concerns include a lack of timely invoicing leading to service interruptions, inadequate support during critical times, and the perception of being ignored by the company. This trend indicates a deteriorating customer service approach that could jeopardize long-standing relationships and drive clients to seek alternative providers.

Like basically every other review in here, my problem pattern is the same. Every year site goes down, I stop receiving emails. In the beginning I didnt realize this, and I had customers writing to me on my social medias to tell me their emails dont get through and my website not working. This has happened since the beginning with them and they have never fixed the problems.
I contact Bludomain, and they said my domain expired because I didnt pay my fee. But, I never get a payment request (never, during the years I have been with them) So they send one, I pay it, and the next year it all happens all over again. Same story. At some point I learn that the hosting expires in March every year. Though, Im not sure about the date. They dont tell me. So it's impossible to find out.
So last year I try to be proactive and reach out to them early in the year. They take a long time to respond - then I tell them I dont want to host with them again, and ask them to release my domain.
They say that my domain expired 2 days ago, so you have to pay the fee for this year. I again say HOW can I pay the fee on time, when they never send a $#*!ing invoice?!
The on top of that, they come up with a story that I didnt pay my website OR hosting fees during the 2 years pandemic time. Say what? I had PayPal proof to prove all this, though it took me some valuable time (can I sue them for stealing time?!) They finally let THAT issue go after I proved them wrong (what kind of accountants do they have?!) But I eventually had to cave and pay for another year of hosting. My email was down during all this for 3 months, and I probably lost alot of work during this time.
This year, I reached out even earlier after finally finding out the exact date last year. First they try the same SCAM as last year "(according to our records you didnt pay the fee during the pandemic)" I immediately called them out, they let it go, sent an authorization code to transfer my domain, but then, nothing. I have since receiving the code sent 6 other tickets, none which have gotten a reply. I asked them to authorize the transfer before the weekend as I had a fundraiser I wanted my domain to point towards my new website - but nothing.
On top of that, in Summer 2023 I spent many hours rebranding myself and redoing my website, updating pricing, updating galleries, only to find out at the end of the year - that it had gone back to the way it was before! I know for sure in the beginning it worked because I had friends and family check my new site for errors etc. All of a sudden it's my old pictures, old color scheme, old pricing!?
I finally after multiple tickets again, get explained that there was a crash or something that summer that "unfortunately" reverted some sites back to its old ways.
OK, well then WHY on earth dont they email their customers and tell them of this, and asks us to double check our websites?!
I didnt get an apology, although this likely also may have affected my bookings. They could have done a nice gesture and not let me pay the website fee that year. But nope. Instead they are trying to suck more money out of you that they are not even entitled to.
This company has extremely scammy and fraudulent tactics. Its like they hate you, and do everything to make your life miserable.
Bottom line is; If I pay my invoice late, Im happy to pay a late fee. But only if they send me an invoice. Otherwise how do I know when to pay?! I dont understand WHY they dont send out invoices? Or have an easy way to see all this in your account? It's like it's meant to fail.
They motto is truthful. I needed to create a website for a very small event of our company and as one of the heads, I was forced to do that. I started to search for various solutions and found these guys.
Terms were veeeery tight, I got to meet all the deadlines, and due to them I managed to create a beautiful website within a couple of hours, just from the scratch.
I ain't know maybe i got lucky, but if I am so lucky, then I need to go to the lottery :D
I realize I will only be echoing the other 140 horrible reviews for this company, but anyone who has read the multitude of 1-star reviews of Bludomain and decides to go with them is seriously a crazy glutton for punishment! I will say, they have a wonderful tech team who has always been helpful, smart, timely, and they have always helped me get my problems figured out… BUT….
The problem is their billing person (Aundrea) who has singlehandedly ruined the company. I stayed with them far too long because I'm not web-IT-savvy, and I kept hoping I could avoid the headache of a new website, email, and getting my domain name switched. Every year, I paid my invoices within a couple of days of receiving them, and often, I was even proactive when I didn't receive an invoice on time and reached out to THEM to get an invoice and pay early. But EVERY year, in the middle of my business, without word or notice, my website and email were shut down for "non-payment of my fees". Immediately, I had to begin proving that I did in fact pay my fees by providing paid receipts. However, when I provided copies of my receipts, Aundrea ignored my MANY (from 5 or more) attempts to get it straightened out. Then, without ever having responded to my tickets, my site would magically re-appear - but up to 2 weeks later! 2 weeks with no email, no website, no response from them! Then… the exact same thing would happen again the next year! This year was the last straw!
I can not stress enough what a nightmare trying to run a photography business has been while having so much of my business dependent on whether or not my website and email were working! I wouldn't wish my experience on my worst enemy!
We appreciate you taking the time to express your concerns. We always aim to resolve any issues our clients might face with the utmost professionalism and efficiency.
However, I must clarify that our records indicate a different scenario regarding the payment history and communication attempts. According to our billing department, there have been consistent delays in the payment of your invoices, 6 months or more. We have made several attempts to reach out and resolve these matters amicably even renewing your hosting and domain automatically without payment every year. The PayPal confirms these issues above as they receive all payments. Your payment due August of 2023 hasn't been paid to this date.
It is also important to address the public statements made regarding our company and staff. We take accusations of this nature very seriously. While we respect the right to free speech and customer feedback, allegations of this kind can be damaging. We kindly ask that any further public statements be made based on factual information if not we will take further action. We are a 20-year old company with hundreds of thousands of clients.
Our goal is to ensure that all our clients, including yourself, have a positive and satisfactory experience with our services.
I had been with bludomain for many, many years without issue. I thought the templates were great and easy to use. However, all of that is absolutely useless when you are completely ignored! Previously, I had no customer service issues, however, when my renewal came up for this year, I never received an invoice. I reached out with no response. My site was removed so I submitted an emergency support ticket and again I was ignored. I reached out though facebook. NOTHING. No acknowledgement at all. Now I have lost my entire website content, hours and hours of work, countless photos and my DOMAIN NAME. I am absolutely devastated. I have to start over completely. Do not let the bludomain website fool you, they cannot be trusted.
I never received my annual hosting invoice & they pulled my site. When I contacted them, I got no reason, no offer to assist—nothing. Not the way to treat a customer of 14 years. All my galleries lost, as well as info pages, & the years of SEO can never be replaced.
Val, we don't have any tickets from you under Val B. We don't pull down websites due to unpaid hosting invoices. What is your URL?
After 12 years of hosting my website and email with bludomain and sticking with them through the hack and losing my website I start getting billed $200 for my hosting fee. Last year I assumed it was because I a month late and had to pay up front for the next year but that was not the case. After evading my questions and holding my website hostage I was forced to pay the $200 to hey my email and site back.
Fast forward to this year I was billed $200 again for hosting and receive nothing in response to tickets. Their own website states when purchasing a new template that the hosting fee is $100. I wish I could speak with a human being at blu!
Hello Aaron, during COVID you were given a choice to pay or delay and you chose to delay as the accountant never received payment. An olive branch to our clients during a very hard time. Hosting is $100.00 a year - you're behind $100.00. No one is evading your questions, your invoices are clearly written out. We answer all e-mails daily! You can send an email to info@bludomain.com
This is probably the 5th year in a row I've had issues at renewal time. Every year I either don't recieve an invoice and my site and email just go down, or like this year I've paid yet my site and email still are down–21 days after paying and trying to reach out over 6 different times. If I hadn't paid already, I'd have just swapped domain hosts. Next year. I've been with them since like 2010 or so–please take my advice, find another service provider. You'll regret bludomain.
May 2022 I have had my email and web site with BluDomain since 2009. I suddenly was unable to receive or send emails, and my web site that I spent years creating was gone on, or around May 2nd. I have sent several emails to customer service from my personal email referencing my BluDomain account with no response whatsoever. It appears after reading other recent reviews that BluDomain is eliminating, without justification, many long time BluDomain customers. That is an unforgivable travesty. I would not recommend BluDomain to even my worst enemy! With regard to the five star rating, I doubt BluDomain would even have a one star rating if there were a zero star rating available.
I feel like this review is going to be VERY redundant, as most of the other reviews express my sentiments almost to a T.
BluDomain is downright scaly. I cannot fathom how they are still in business. Don't let their beautiful website fool you. Once you are a customer they couldn't care less about you! They WILL NOT respond to messages. You cannot call them. You cannot email them. You need to send your inquiries through their website, and then proceed to ignore you.
Every. Single. Year they would shut my site down for non-payment... but they don't send invoices? How in the world is a customer supposed to pay for a service if they don't know where to send the payment or the amount due. I would message asking for an invoice (as SO MANY other reviewers have had to do!) and when they finally did respond the message back was insanely condescending stating that it must be my email provider who isn't delivering the messages. I checked my inbox and spam folders multiple times, there were no invoices.
Today I found out that my domain was SOLD and to get it back I will have to pay THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS! I am a small business and I rely heavily on my website for business. BluDomain has basically shut me down. My inquiries have slowed to almost nothing. My website has been down since the beginning of June and it is now the middle of August. I have been BEGGING them since June to help me and they just absolutely won't.
The last message that I got from them simply stated "We don't have your domain name anymore"... One line. That was LITERALLY all they wrote. Of course you don't. You sold it!
BUYER BEWARE. I have done so much research in the past couple of months and there are SO MANY GOOD companies to host with... don't make the same mistake that I, and so many others, have made. Stay FAR FAR away from BluDomain and Aundrea Hasselbach, the registered owner. What a complete joke!
I have taken this issue to the BBB and Aundrea Hasselbach hasn't responded. She won't. Most of the BBB reviews have gone unresolved. The next step will be legal action.
Lacy, we're turning this over to our legal team for defamation, if you do not remove these these false allegations we will sue you for defamation. You forget to renew your domain name and lost it. We did not sell your domain name.
I have used Blu Domain for many years, now I cant get on my site or my emails. I have sent tickets to get help with no response. Now it looks like they are working under a new name called Socia Sites. STAY AWAY!
Been with them for over 12 years and now I wonder what took me so long. The worst Customer Service in history. They will delete your site and auction it off with no warning and no means to recover it. Do business with them AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Gloria! We have never deleted a website that's untrue information. If your domain is expired past 10 days, the national registrar can now make the domain available to investors. We don't auction domains. The registrar gives you plenty of time to notice your website, domain and email are down before they allow the investors to buy. If you domain is gone it's because the registrar felt you were out of business for not responding. Will pass this onto our legal time, we don't tolerate defamation of our character.

I have been with Bludomain for 14 years now and their customer service has been deteriorating. I Typically receive a bill in January/February for my $100 hosting fee. This year it didn't come through and being away I didn't have much chance to look into it. Last night I received an invoice for double that amount wanting to pay for his year and next years hosting. In the morning I come to find my domain is down and they will not respond to my emergency tickets. I stuck with them after the hack in 2018 but I think this is the last straw.
Would give a zero if possible. I have hosted with BluDomain for a few years. Each year they "forget" to invoice for the domain name, which takes the renewal from $75 to $100. This year, it happened again, but there's more money on the line. I had just paid for a new template and the upload service. I've repeatedly emailed and submitted support tickets, but my site remains down. This has been going on since mid-January. I've reached out to the owner and received no response. One employee emailed me and said I needed to contact GoDaddy, but after two hours on the phone with GoDaddy, they confirmed that BluDomain holds my domain name. Even though I have paid my domain and late fees, BluDomain has not renewed my domain name. BluDomain has not responded about getting my domain name back since I paid $120 for them to retrieve it. They do not have a contact number to call, so customers are forced to email only.
After many repeated attempts to get a response as to why my website is down, I have received no answer or fix to the problem. They certainly were happy to take my money though which I will be disputing on my cc bill.
After several attepts of asking for a detailed invoice for the $120 to have my site up again after 11 years of having it with this company, I just got today what I call a ransom note saying "pay the $120 plus $100 for redemption! I really think the "redemption" should be on them. Thank God there are other choices and I am getting a better site, hosting and a domain name that suits me well! Class-action anyone?
The web site always is down, web site not work properly, custom services is taking a ticket,
Do not have phone number to better services.
I've had my website with them for over a decade but in the last 3-4 years have struggled with site being down over and over again according to them due to a blocked IP address that they'd manually have to unblock over and over with no long-term solution. Two years ago we designed a new site but still had it routed through our bludomain hosted domain. Twice now (currently in the middle of it) the site has gone down with NO reply to our emergency ticket submission.
I now cannot access/receive/send any email, my site is down and my request to receive the information I need to transfer our domain and cut bludomain out of the mix was met once with false invalid information and now with silence. At this point I just need them to give me what I need to leave and never have this headache again.
I never write reviews but I now regret ever having done business with them and don't wish anyone to be in this position of not even being able to be free of them without abandoning a site I've spent years promoting and putting on promotional material.
I would give them zero stars if I could! Their servers crashed and I barely got an apology. They just said I should start from scratch as all was lost. I've been trying to get my site up and running again, but the template, although cute, doesn;'t work! I've been trying to get assistance for months and nothing! They are horrible. Stay away!
I have had my website hosted through bludomain for a few years. Each year, I receive an invoice via email, and have paid. This year, I didn't receive one at all, and then all of a sudden, my website and email are not accessible. It's been completely embarrassing, and REALLY frustrating. Not only that, but it is salt on the wounds that they are not even answering emails or service tickets at all! Not worth it at all! Do not use them!
Answer: Bludomain is out of business, I've used them for three years and they are gone, no site, no email. Nice of them to leave me hanging, Hope the same happens to them
Answer: No one steals domains. If you don't pay your domain name renewal fee, then the registrar takes your domain, email and website down. At day 26 your domain is available to the public auctions should anyone wish to buy it. Usually, this happens by domain name investors if they feel your domain name is worth buying to resell.
Answer: I had an issue again with not getting response to my emails using the contact button on the website, so I went to the Facebook page, and actually posted a message on there- got a quick response that same day. Problem solved - not to my liking, but problem resolved. I will be looking for a new hosting site soon. If you would like any help with the DBD I would be happy to help- shoot me a message www.lauraleephotography.net

We appreciate your long-standing relationship with BluDomain and understand that domain transfers and renewals can sometimes be frustrating. We’d like to address your concerns to ensure clarity.
Domain Renewal & Invoicing – BluDomain sends domain renewal reminders to the email on file, and clients are responsible for keeping their contact information updated. If emails were not received, they may have been filtered to spam or an outdated address. Regardless, domain expiration dates remain the same annually.
Hosting & Downtime – In 2018, we experienced a major server issue due to our hosting provider, something beyond our control. Since moving to a new hosting company, we have not had a single downtime incident. We’ve worked diligently to ensure stability for all clients.
Domain Transfer – We approved your domain transfer request and provided the necessary authorization code. Once this step is complete, the process is between registrars. If your transfer has not finalized, it is likely due to settings at the gaining registrar’s end, and we encourage you to check with them directly.
Customer Service – We always aim to respond promptly and provide support. We have been in business since 2003.
You have threatened us today, that if we don't make your domain transfer go through today you will write negative reviews and call the Attorney General, we don't have control over the registrars.
