Worst experience ever
April 17, 2021

Had the worst experience with this store. I have placed an order and want it to be delivered as soon as possible, for that I want to do next day delivery and they said we can not offer it. For that reason, I chose the express deliver in 2 days. I placed the order on the 14th and should arrive on the 17th, they did not process the order till the next day and was not delivered to me on the 17th as I paid for. When I called the customer services representative her name was Silvena, she said I dont know what to do? I was so angry it was my brothers wedding and I dont have my item. The representative was more concerned to offer a refund, but not bothered to call the UPS to ask about the item.
When I placed my order I made sure to ask the representative more that once if I would get my item on time, and she kept confirming to me it will be delivered on the 17th. Please dont trust this store representatives they just try to get the customer to buy and get their commission.
The only store I would trust would be Nordstrom, the representative would tell you the truth and would not mislead you just to buy staff that you would not get on time.

DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING ONLINE FROM BLOOMINGDALES! Bloomingdales calls me one of their Top of the Line retail customers, and I will no longer be purchasing anything from Bloomingdales. I made the fatal mistake of buying an expensive pair of earrings online for an event that has long passed. They sent me the wrong earrings. I immediately reported this to Bloomingdales and returned the wrong earrings they had sent. They said the earrings were in stock and I'd receive them in 2 - 3 days. Since then I have phoned and written to customer service repeatedly. It's been almost a month and still I have not received the earrings or gotten my money back. And the last phone call I had I was told they were not going to reimburse me for their mistake, nor were they going to send me the replacement earrings. Bloomingdales has treated me rudely and unprofessionally and worse they have pocketed my money and did not deliver the earrings I ordered as promised. I will NEVER order online from Bloomingdales again, nor will I shop with them ever again.

UPDATE: FINALLY a month later, Bloomingdales did the right thing and refunded my money.

I placed my order 1 week before Christmas to make sure I receive order before Christmas so I could give gift. The Day before Christmas I receive only half of order. I contact customer service on chat. All they could do was keep apologizing. Bloomingdales doesn't reach out to you and notify you that item is on back order even if they have all your contact information.
What terrible service! The only thing they know to do is inform you if you order now there's free shipping so hurry and place your order. They totally overcharge for such horrible service. I say to Bloomingdales if you're going to give bad service maybe you should lower your prices, or invest your money in improving customer service. This is why stores like this will go under! High prices and bad service.

I always enjoy coming to Bloomingdales to shop. Got some good deals on Black Friday and I always feel treated well and the staff is always very knowledgeable and professional. Definitely much better than Macy's or Nordstrom.

THE WORST
October 18, 2020

Not only did they bait and switch me with their "Sign up with your email for 15% off your next purchase" but then I placed my order, they charged me for it, and cancelled it an hour later with NO explanation. And on top of that, they've yet to refund me after several hours! Terrible customer service as well.

I ordered a pair of Gucci slides for my husband for his birthday. They sent me and email that I had to call to verify the order but mind you they already took the money out my account. I call and spoke to a guy and asked him not ones but a few times if he was sure I was gonna get the package before 7/15 he said yes, ok I thought everything was ok until I got a alert from my bank that they took another $270 which made an total of $542.16 that was taken out my account. So I call to find out why they took money out my account without me authorizing it, the lady had the nerve to tell me Macy does it I was like I never ordered from Macy's. Long story short found out that the shoes wasn't gonna be shipped until August so I asked them to refund me. As of now I have not gotten my money back. I have contacted my attorney. Don't ever do business with this company

PLEASE NEVER SHOP WITH BLOOMINGDALE'S, THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR A PRODUCT THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE IN STOCK AND MESSAGE YOU TWO WEEKS LATER, SAYING THE ITEM IS OUT OF STOCK. THE BEST PART IS... THEY HOLD YOUR ACCOUNT FOR THE PURCHASE AMOUNT FOR 3-5 DAYS AFTER THEY NOTIFY YOU THAT THE ITEM IS NO LONGER IN STOCK. PLEASE NEVER SHOP HERE, THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND SEND YOU NOTHING.

I had to change the delivery address, the day after I placed my order, so I tried to contact the customer service it was impossible to reach out to them for 3 days, on the 4th days they told me "it was too late, they couldn't do anything now, I should have tried before" I explained to them that I tried, they said sorry it's the policy, you should try to call UPS, I called UPS, UPS told me Bloogmindales were the only one to be able to change the address, as they are the sender! To finish no one is able to change the address it will cost me 100$ of uber to get it to go back to my place!

I was really excited to find a bag on sale at a price that did honestly seem too good to be true so I ordered it $95 from $350. The next day they cancelled this item in my order and said it was no longer available. It felt like someone had screwed up and listed the bag for cheaper than it should have been. I kept checking to see if the bag would be back online and sure enough about a week later its up there for $185. I tried calling customer service to see if they could honor my order since they had cancelled it since it was "no longer available" but of course because of covid there are no customer service reps to answer the phone. Literally there were no options to connect you to a representative only prerecorded messages.

I had a Bloomingdale's card for over a decade. Recently, I became more fiscally responsible, so when I realized they were charging criminally high interest of like close to 28% I stopped using the card this past fall. My last charge was for a pair of children's sneakers for $40 in September, and I paid off my full balance in January and cancelled the account. I checked my card, though, at the beginning of my billing cycle in February. Still zero. Covid happened the next month, and it didn't occur to me to check a cancelled account. Well, mid-February they had charged me an "interest" fee of $69. On WHAT I ASK YOU? On the Converse sneaks from September? On a paid-off balance? I didn't see the interest charge and just a few days ago, I get a letter from Bloomingdale's informing me they'd sent my "account" to a collection agency. TO THE TUNE OF $138 with a bunch of bogus fees tagged on. I called and paid it off, but the damage was done. They'd tanked my credit score. I had never once been late on a payment in ten years, I'd paid off my account in full. When I called back again a few days later to make sure that this time the account was actually closed, a guy with a New Jersey accent laughed at me and told me to go complain on my blog. This to one of their best customers. Heartless, soulless customer service.

Not to mention, unlike any other high-end online boutique out there- Shopbop, Revolve, Sephora-- they will frequently cancel your order with no explanation. Just a giant, terrible, soulless conglomerate of a company with SO MANY hidden fees and scams. Please save yourself the headache and have nothing to do with them just as I will have nothing do with them from now on.

Several months ago, I used an unsolicited gift/rewards promotion Bloomingdale's sent me.

A few months after that, I purchased another item that was not as it was described nor as it appeared online. So I returned it.

The next month. I did NOT receive full credit for the returned item. So I called the Bloomingdale's customer service general phone number and was told that I could deduct the missing amount in my payment for the bill, which I did. Someone there explained to me that my return credit had been reduced because I had used the original reduction offer their company had sent me for an item that I had kept. I stated that if the company was going to do so, there should have been such an explanation on the unsolicited Bloomingdale's rewards/gift card I originally received and used. If they had done that, I would have torn up the promotion, because it would have required an unwanted, complicated tracking system on my part.

Then on the next statement, not only didn't I receive the deduction, but I was charged a late fee and interest. By this time, I was quite upset. Once again, I called Customer Service and was told that the incorrect charges would be removed from my next statement.

While the next statement showed that the original incorrect charges were removed, an inexplicable interest charge appeared.

Shortly later I spent several hours trying to reach Customer Service by phone and online, only to be told that the department was unavailable due to the current pandemic. After trying the Bloomingdale's "live" number to place an order, I was told that no one there could solve the problem--despite the fact that I asked to speak to supervisors who either transferred me to the original "nonworking" number; or claimed they could not reach out to their manager. The last supervisor, Hector, did say that he had someone to call if he had a problem, but could do nothing to help me.

So Bloomingdale's is taking advantage of the Covid-19 crisis to take advantage of their customers, even long-time ones! Somehow the current health crisis prevents them from helping customers they've charged incorrectly, but allows customers to place new orders. Such seemingly corrupt behavior calls for never doing business with the company again. How could you ever trust them?

Order canceled
March 18, 2020

I placed an order for an item that was in stock, I received an email later stating the item was back-ordered, no big deal I ordered it because I wanted it. I found out over three weeks later my order had been canceled. I won't waste my time ordering from Bloomingdale's again.

Update to my product return experience
February 29, 2020
Updated review

I wanted to provide an update - after 8 months, I finally received a credit on my Bloomingdales's account for the shoes I returned. I never received a note or email letting my know that my account was credited - the credit just appeared in my statement one day. I'm very disappointed with Bloomingdale's overall handling of this issue.

Date of experience: February 29, 2020

I've shopped Bloomingdales for years, and this is the worst customer experience I've ever had. I bought a pair of shoes several years ago when there was no time limit for returns. I tried to return it to the store back in February 2019 but they refused to accept it because they no longer carried the shoes and said they had didn't have the SKU any longer to do the return. I decided to use the return shipping label to return the shoes to their Cheshire, CT facility.

Never heard back or received a refund from Bloomingdales even after spending a couple of hours on the phone with their customer service to follow up on the shipment. I even tried to call the facility where the shoes were sent for a refund but there was no direct line and customer service could not contact the Cheshire facility either. I even wrote a letter to the president of Bloomingdales in NYC in Sept and have not heard back from anyone.

I guess I will have to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau since Bloomingdales hasn't bothered to contact me. What a disappointing experience this has been!

I noticed that six days had passed since my high-value item shipped, and I had neither received it nor gotten any updates from Bloomingdale's. This is not the kind of merchandise that usually goes out on "slow boat" shipping, so I am concerned. I use the link in my "item has shipped" email to go to the Bloomindale's website, to track my purchase, but their system won't let me check my order. So I phone customer service and get an automated response telling me that UPS has not provided updates "in a while," but that it "sometimes takes up to 48 hours" for them to update. That is just not true, FYI. UPS provided real-time tracking. I get an agent, finally, and she provides a projected delivery date: Ten days after shipping, twelve days after order.

Not good enough, Bloomingdales's. I will not be shopping here again.

WORST Experience Ever
September 15, 2019

I spent 3 hours searching for perfect outfits for my daughters back to school. I completed and put in the order. No problems. I was sent a $50 gift card notice via email. Then, I received an email saying that I needed to call to verify something on my credit card. The lady started with, "Well, your order has been cancelled because we couldn't verify it." I wasn't even given a chance. Then I asked for someone above her and she transferred me out of credit to orders and the lady just continued to reiterate the same issue and then said, "By all means, please try again." So I have to place the order all over again, seek each item, repurchase.

Bottom line Bloomingdales is an antiquated brand. It happens to have terrific options, which I can just get elsewhere. So I will.
