I was very excited when the UPS man came to my door. But comes to find out. BD only delivered just the frame... Where are the rest of the bike? Wheels, tires, seat, handle bars, etc... And worst yet, there is no phone number to call, only phone number if you want to order... email only. This is BS as i already signed up for a race this Saturday. Major disappointment! Never Again!

Josh- we resolved this quickly and gave you a full refund. We do have a phone number to call during business hours 9-5pm M-Fri. EST. 904-249-2453. The warehouse made a mistake by sending you a frame and fork package. They are human and we strive to make as few mistakes as possible. We regret this error and have refunded you in full.

Ordered tires and found tires cheaper. Spoke to David at Tires direct he could not any correspondence even though i had their reply stating no problem with price match. I sent David the links to the price match and he said he will just send a return shipping. After 8 days i havent received tires
They are to be delivered Thursday 9 days after ordering. I have UPS to return to sender! Terrible customer service.

I got a bike from these guys and they have all over their site that you have to buy now because their prices are so low. I know this is my fault I should have done my home work, but i found out after I got the bike that I could have gotten it from other sites 100 less all with free shipping. So just make sure you do your homework a lot of the stuff they say about their crazy low prices, and that you better get the bike now because it will never be at this crazy price again is a lot of BS.

Good bike and experience

I ordered a Gravity HD Trail 27.5. Assembly was super-easy and it looks like it costs way more than I paid. Bike shops in my area had many jobs in the queue ahead of mine so I asked my brother-in-law to do the adjustments for me (as I am new to biking) but it seems he didn't do a good job so I plan to wait on a bike shop as gear changes are not smooth, etc. I don't think it's the bike. I think it just needs proper adjustments. I will see and let you know with an updated review. So far the suspension fork is very responsive with good travel, and the hydraulic brakes are great! The bike is advertised as having 2.25 width tires but it came with 2.10. I informed BikesDirect and they offered me a $25 refund. Larry handled the issue and was very prompt and professional. My experience with BikesDirect has been positive and I would recommend them.

I recently ordered a bike from Bikes Direct. It was received on September 17. Within a few days during assembly it was determined that the fork was not the correct size. It was for a larger bike. I have called a number and goes to voicemail and made 4 email requesting assistance. Their site is great for ordering but awful for getting service. Everything leads back to emailing where you are assured a quick response. No response in 12 days and multiple attempts. I want to send the bike back and can't get clear instructions on the website. Again another email to use. I would not give them a 1 star.
My grandson does not have the bike he wanted for his birthday!

So far I am not super impressed. You spend $1500 dollars with someone, you kind of expect a rapid response. It has been a couple of days and I have tried to call (no. Way to get through or even a message machine) I will alter this review if they get back to me soon (perhaps they are overrun with bike sales today). If not I will simply call the cc company and work it out with them.

They are cheap bikes. I had a few problems with my bike - after seeing such great reviews. 1) You can't call and talk to a live person nor will they call you back. 2) Their email address are personal accounts 3) I had a problem with my frame (broke) and they basically said it was my fault and never called me back. I learned my lesson! PS: I suggest buying from a reputable name you know and can trust!

As of today, I bought 4 bikes from BikesDirect.
Out of these 4, two had minor issues (thanks they were not major).
Front wheel on one bike was defective (still is). I wrote couple of requests but received no answer. As for other bike, I only asked for an invoice (PayPal did not send me one) and received pretty rude treatment. Speaking with BikesDirect representative was a major disappointment and she hung up on me (!).
As you can see, on my scale, BikesDirect gets 0 out of 2.

P.S. In response to BikesDirect rep previous comment.
Mike, BikesDirect operates from Texas and all bikes come from TX.
Why would you say you work in EDT timezone?
If you are genuinely curious, I'll tell you who told me that no one would
Help me because all personnel has left for the day (it was early afternoon in TX, though).

I decided to buy a Gravity F XD road bike from Bikes Direct because the price was very attractive and it is my first serious bicycle I have purchased. Unfortunately when the package arrived I found the bike stuffed into the box with no protection except thin foam sheets. Ended up with a bent brake disk, bent spoke, and multiple scratches and gouges. Larry wouldn't even send me some touch up paint. Pretty sure I will never do business with them again. You will be much better off to buy a better quality bike from a known bike shop and cut your best deal or get it on sale. These bikes are not the best quality but it is my first and I will deal with it.

Figured I'd give these guys a shot. Website looked flashy and kind of cool. Prices weren't too bad, but their packaging and their shipping company beat my item up pretty good. It's still usable, but a little better packing would be nice. I'll probably use them again, but just be aware that your box may be damaged.

Ordered Elite Trail Blue23. Paypal paid April 27th. May 9th call to find out why no bike, no email, no word at all? Very friendly woman looked into it. Order placed on hold, they can't tell me why. Best they can do is ship it out today. If your going to place a hold on a order after you accept payment how about sending a email or some contact informing the customer? At least then i could have taken care of it. Still waiting on bike, will update review when on road.

Its a nice bike, however it says, compare to $1200 trek bikes... So, they sent with resin pedals on a bike for a person 6 Foot tall, *aka* a heavy person, one broke on the 2nd ride, the boy fell off and got hurt a little bit yet not bad, but its just that the pedal snapped in 2 days from only standing on it and riding on the pavement. It says professional bike on the listing or something like that. I do not think any pro rider would be happy with this bike, as it says competition ready in the claim also. The bike itself is nice, but its not a $1200 valu. The $429 dollar bike price is more like compared to a 500 dollar bike in reality. The support is sending us more plastic based pedals and I would have told them to just keep them. I just cant trust more plastic based pedals now after this. I read many nice reviews about the company, I just do not think this set up was really all what they claim. It should say compare to a 750 dollar bike maybe and thats pushing it. He likes the bike, I just don't understand the weak azz pedals they send under a compare to a $1200 bike claim. The shifters are ok, but again, they are really not comparable to a trek or giant at $1200, I am just being honest. The brakes are ok, but the schwinn from walmart had much better brakes for much less money. *we had to return due to the plastic parts inside the tube/fork area. It was a fine bike besides that. I think the bike direct bike is very nice though its just not all the high end components you would think it would be per the claim.

The bikes are pretty good, and unbeatable for the price from what I've seen. Mine required some replacement parts and extra service out of the box; Larry from Bikesdirect customer service was super helpful and responded promptly with good solutions.
I'll be ordering from them again and referring my friends. Thanks!

Received the bike 3 weeks ago and it's great. To anyone questioning that the website looks dicey I say relax. I've bought 2 other mid level road bikes from them. They were both great. My new mountain bike was great also. They have fast shipping and great customer service. If you aren't comfortable assembling your own bike then go to a bike shop. Bike came in great shape and assembled it with not much problem. I got a blue tooth shifter that I had to get professional help with for a whole 20 bucks now works amazing. The bike shop was amazed at what I got in my bike for 2100 bucks. It rode great. Don't hesitate and get a great deal with them. Thanks bikes direct again.

Bought a new Gravity 29er full suspension mountain bike from Bikesdirect.com. Took about a week for the bike to arrive. Out of the box the front suspension fork was defective from the manufacturer so I emailed tech support. Larry at tech support was excellent and emailed me back in less than two hours and that he was very sorry for the problem and was sending out a new upgraded fork via usps priority mail right away. I received the fork within two days and finished the assembly the next day. The bike is awesome for the money and the customer support that Larry provided was wonderful. I've already recommended bikesdirect.com to several people who were unware of the company who were asking about my new bike. I will definitely buy again from bikesdirect.com and hats off to Larry who provided superior customer support!

Had an issue with a Chain stay protector. It was damaged in packing, and it's really nothing more than tape. I asked if they could just mail me a new one. It's not a part they can source, so they refunded me the cost of the part. I'll get it fixed on my own, but I'll be happy to. I hate FedEx, but that's a separate issue and while there were issues getting the bike to my house, I know it's because FedEx doesn't care about anything.

I've been on the market for a new/cheap/sturdy bicycle to ride in the city for transportation purposes. I consulted with my cousin, who is a professional cyclist, and he said that bikesdirect.com has unbelievable deals on any kind of bicycle you can think of. They may not all be name brand, but they are solid bikes. Definitely better than getting one at Wal-Mart or Target.
I'm now getting a mountain bike for $399 that's actually worth $899.
I highly recommend this site if you're looking to save some money on a great bicycle.

Great experience with BikesDirect! I placed my order Wednesday morning and the bike arrived in flawless condition Friday noon. Great bargain when compared to other bikes of similar components.

Caution if you have not done much work on bikes…it will need some tweaking to get it just right.

Despite looking a bit "old school", Bikesdirect certainly delivers on quality.
Simple buying process, reasonable shipping times, saved me quite a penny.
I got a 2015 Mirage Tour and am excited to get into the world of road biking. The bike rides great and feels well-made.
If you're worried about using them, rest-assured that you'll be fine and happy with the result.
