We purchased over $1000 of various size bamboo blinds for our mom an pop cottages/motel needs. My online purchase was so easy. The delivery was very quick and free shipping. Purchased several other items for our business needs and was pleased with everything we received. Even the stickers came off easily an quickly from the tableware we purchase. Some very unique items I have found nowhere else. Very pleased with all my purchases.
Bought a couch from big lots. Thought it was cute, simple, and cheap (if you call 400 cheap). As broke college students, it fit the budget and the lifestyle of simple lounging. However now after a few months the backboard pieces are breaking apart. Couch is very gently used by fiance and I and our cats. No reason it should have broken this easily. Very disappointed because now we're out $400+ and comfy living room seating.
Cart I used had the metal bars cut where a child would set, I didn't see the cut bars and cut my hand. I asked for help, the store manager got irritated with me asking for some first aid/triple antibacterial cream and a band aid. I was given a band aid and a paper towel soaked with rubbing alcohol. This happened 3 months ago and I now have a 3" scar on my hand. None of the store employees tried to help when I went to the cash register, I was bleeding and asked for some one to please help me
What a horrific experience at one big lots store in particular in Hamilton NJ. Their site claimed to have an item (12) in stock. After traveling an 1 hr to get there no stock at all. Ask cashier for some help. Long story short she decided to walk away bc obviously she did not want to work. Customer were coming in to pick up online orders and were being told they were so busy they did not have time to pull the online orders due coverage on the register. THERE WAS NO LINES AND MAYBE 10 customers in the entire store. What an awful experience. Other big lots I gave have frequented have helpful customer service. Proof is in the pudding!
Stopped at Big Lots today and bought a number of items, including many on their 40% off sale. Most of the 40% off items rang up at regular price. When I brought it to their attention, the cashier grumbled and after 10 minutes of adding the discounts manually, still fidnt get it right, charging me twice for some items.
Not worth the hassle - stay away from this store. The company is very poorly managed.
I gladly made a $7,000 furniture purchase at Big Lots with the expectation of the current deal that was going on that I would get rewarded $10 per every $100 spent. Three weeks pass and no rewards so I call and they tell me it won't show on my accoung until March 7. I check on that date and it's only $100 so I call back because it should be close to $700. They tell me that it caps off at $1,000 yet this was not told to me when making my purchase. I go into the actual store to tell the employee that sold to me and she even said they were not aware of it capping off at $1,000, she also told me that no where does it even say that. So I think someone needs to be at fault for this situation. I was expecting that $700 to help me purchase another bedroom set, but this company would rather loose $7,000 because I'm at my wits end and will be returning everything and getting my money back and taking my business elsewhere.
I have never had such a problem ordering online from a store till I encountered Big Lots. They make u jump through so many hoops to place an order your head is spinning. Between I'm not a robot and all the other junk they make u do I had a migraine headache by the time I was done. Please redo your website. Geezus!
I like to give Carlos, the manager, five stars. He is a great person that cares about customers. He always has a big smile and never says NO. Always look for a solution to make the customer happy. The women at this big lots were so rude to me, and i genuinely believe it was because i was pretty. Y'all need to get ur act together and be more mature. I had an interview at 2:20 and didn't get taken back for it until 3. Awful.
No one wants to help you, I was in hold for 20 minutes. Nobody can go and check if they have a Christmas Tree that I was looking for. Awful customer service and vey lazy employee.
Purchased a Halloween inflatable. It worked the day I got it, worked for two days and would not turn on any more. Called big lots and was told it is past the 30 day return window and they will not refund my purchase. I purchased it on August 19th and it stopped working today. So I was supposed to know by September 18 (well before the time I would decorate for Halloween) that this product was a piece of garbage and would only last two days. Never shopping at Big Lots again. I shop there quite often. DONE!
Greeted by store employee as soon as I came in. The employee asked what I needed, I told them and they walked me to the correct area to get what I needed. My experience was more than good. My wife and I were happy with our purchases from Big Lots and will visit the store more often.
The gentleman that sold us our couch said the warranty would cover any rips or stains. We asked, "if our dogs ate our couch, would they cover it?" We were just being silly, of course, but the guy said "yes!" So, we got the warranty. Then I came in one day and there were 2 rips in my couch. It was either the kids or the dogs, I didn't know. When I went to collect on my warranty the guy told me it wasn't covered. I'm extremely pissed. I will not be shopping at big lots again.
We purchased our third mattress service from Big Lots and it was our first King size purchase. We have been fighting with them for almost two years to replace a sunken mattress. I have called Corporate 6 times and the district manager blew us off. The manager worked us a deal but because I called Corporate we were told the mattress when it finally arrived had been damaged in a flood, only our mattress was damaged but it was dry out no rain in weeks. I contacted BBB and they said Big Lots was going to work with us. Now conveniently the manager doesn't want to deal with us, another manager hid and would not come out, so they guy we talked to looked for our deal and our paperwork had disappeared. Just called Corporate again and in the middle of me talking I'm disconnected. We just want to sleep well and not walk up sunken in and hurting. My next step is to call The Fixer on our local news.
I was in Big Lots, Franklim NC and there was a girl about 9 yrs old riding a hover board all over the store! Also my cashier was on the phone the whole time I was checking out. This store needs to do better.
Big Lots in store price not matching on posted price. The item 5 shelf bookcase was not advertised price in store after confronted cashier she asked Manger and Said it was not price advertised on sign below item even after I photographed Said sign for item, to me if its posted that price it is. Therefore I did not buy false advertised price item. Cashier said $50.00 buy showed her price on this item on sale.
Big Lots just recently reintroduced their freebies weekend giveaways, for Big Lots reward customers. Their most recent giveaway was for either a candy bar or a bag of candy costing no more than $1.39. This is for the Big Lots ad dated for March 11-12 of this year I chose the snack size 5 piece Almond Joy candy package which was $1.39. There were other types of candies available for the same price. I took my candy to the checkout counter and showed the store clerk my email rewards and. They told me the only candy they were told to give away was a York peppermint patty and nothing else. I showed them a copy of the rewards email ad which showed different types of candy that cost $1.39, but they wouldn't allow it. Talk about bait and switch!
Bought A $500 Gazebo in the spring and turned the people next door on to Big lots. We Both bought a Gazebo but never made it through the winter Lasted Aprox 7 months The Canopy was so Chintzy it dry rotted so bad and rain water collapsed the Gazebo. I looked over the fence and sure enough the neighbors was collapsed too. Calling big Lots is like a Foreign Country... never respond has no phone numbers and really don't care... Will have to take legal action and bad mouth them as much as a can... Food For Thought!
I have shopped at Big Lots for several years and love it as a whole. I would say though I have some favorite stores that I will only go to now because the store is always clean, shelves are stocked, and the customer service is always good. Have bought everything from a bedroom set to a living room set to simple groceries and household items (Broyhill lavender and sandalwood candles are my favorite) and most have lasted for years. Only negative item would have been a dining room set, it didn't last for more than 6 months and the extended warranty on it when I called was almost impossible to navigate and the people were not very helpful with it. Other than that it has been a good experience and we will continue to be a customer for years to come!

We went into the local store yesterday to check out a Broyhill sofa I found online. While in the store, we realized online offered same day shipping for $99. In-store purchase would've been next day. We chose to sit and do the order online. (We did this while still in the store) Well it is well after 24 hours early and we still have no sofa. 3 calls have been made to Customer Care which was a joke. If we file an investigation, it'll be 1-3 business days for them to look into it. We asked for a refund of the shipping fee and we were denied, stating it's a set delivery fee and not guaranteed delivery in a certain time frame.
This is very frustrating because, had we known, we would have chosen to buy in our local store. For that matter, we could have rented a truck same day.
Answer: Only during business hours and good luck. They all seem very busy and unable to help beyound try the website in a couple of hours if you can't complete your order.
