I was a little hesitant to purchase a transmission based on bad reviews. But I will tell you Brian Johnson took care of us all the way. The transmission arrived within seven days of purchase. The customer service has been outstanding any questions were answered in a timely manner. Couldn't be happier

We ordered an engine for my 15 year old sons car. He paid for it with his own money. We received the engine and sent it off to be installed. The mechanic called and told us it was the wrong engine. So we call A & M and told them about the situation. They want us to pay for the engine to be returned and also for the shipment of the correct engine. We've already paid $700 for the first engine now the want another $300, via money order or cashier check! This is bull$#*!. We will be contacting a lawyer and also sending this to the BBB. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE

I was looking for a transmission for my pickup due to mine not able to be rebuilt so I ordered a transmission from A and M used auto parts, took a couple weeks but eventually showed up. When I took it apart the fluid was burned and bad in smell and color they said it was tested so I put it in and it only had 2 out of the 5 gears, took it out and tried to
Use there warranty to send it back for a refund but they make you send it back at your cost (that's how they make their money) got quoted $400 just to return it, payed it and sent it back and now they won't reply to emails and getting a refund is like pulling teeth. This company has ZERO stock they find parts from junk yards close to you and send you the cheapest parts to make the most money and it's all a huge gamble if you get good or bad parts. Very unprofessional. Very untrustworthy.

Scammers!
December 30, 2019

I live in CA and purchased a used transmission for my 2012 Nissan Murano without checking for reviews and sorely regret it now. It took 10 days to receive a tracking number and over two weeks to receive the part. If that wasn't bad enough, the part they sent was defective and my mechanic refused to install it.

I contacted them via phone and email and even sent video clips of the defective transmission and compared it to a proper working one (since there is no way to diagnose it without it being inside a vehicle). They reviewed my video clips and agreed over the phone that it appeared to be defective and would contact me after submitting it to their warranty department and let me know if the costs of shipping it back would be covered. That was over a week ago on December 20,2019. I never got a call or email so I called them back on Monday December 23rd, only to find out they are closed the entire week for Christmas (something they could've mentioned over the phone!).

I followed up again today, December 30,2019, and the rep I have been working with since the purchase (Joseph Miller) acted like he didn't know what I was talking about, so I asked for a manager. He put me on hold for 15 minutes to "get a manager", then came back on the line to tell me the manager wasn't available until after the new year (how convenient), and that he now remembers my issue and will follow up with their warranty department to cover the costs of shipping the 250+lb defective transmission back to them on the East Coast.

I am without a vehicle for over a month now, incurring rental car costs during the worst time of the year for this to happen, and let me tell you, a single mom of 2 kids on a fixed income, $1,200 for a defective part and the hassle of dealing with such dishonest and uncaring people is not how I envisioned spending my Holidays and my hard earned money.

Perhaps I am naive, but I am still hoping these people will do the right thing so that I don't have to incur more expenses and headache to take legal action!

Ripoffs and liars
September 6, 2019

To those who are about to write a negative review, please go to "http://myfloridalegal.com/contact.nsf/contact?Open&Section=Citizen_Services" the attorney general in Tampa and fill out a complaint form. Every bit will help. PLEASE!

I paid for a used engine which was told by mike smith that it had only ******* miles. They kept changing the date as to when the engine would be delivered. I suppose they took my money, and then started shopping for an engine as a middle man. An engine arrived after 15 days and looked like it had 3******* miles, dirty with oil leaking everywhere. Even after putting new front crank shaft seals etc. it still leaked oil like the mississippi river and the car cannot not go beyond 50 MPH. And they still told me that it was a good engine. Spread the news and save others from a bad experience.

I ordered a 2003 Dodge Motor from them. Said on invoice that I was shipped a 2003 Dodge Motor. After installing, it was discovered by my mechanics that the motor was incorrect. The motor turned out to be a 2004 Jeep Cherokee engine. Their only response was sorry it should work but if not ship it back. I would waste 2000 in labor cost plus still need a replacement motor and re-installation. DO NOT ODER FROM THEM EVER.

Sent a bad engine and won't honor their "warranty" They say the warranty is void because I took the heads off to see why there wasn't any compression. Don't be fooled, there is no warranty.

This is a middle man for selling engines. They purchase motors and resell them at a higher price. I would imagine they have no clue of the condition that the engine is in, they take a gamble and put a warranty on it hoping that it doesn't go out in 1-3 years. I received a motor that looked like it had been sitting at the bottom of the ocean, all the components were so far deteriorated that the required parts couldn't be replaced without extensive repairs. They did send me another motor that was in a little better shape with a few more miles than the original motor and I was able to install with still quite a bit of extra work. The company appears trying to be fair but when it comes down to it they got the better of me. I went this route to avoid spending the extra money of a new motor and in the end it bit me in the rear. (Shipping was ridiculously slow on both motors, not in transit, them getting the motor to the carrier)(

The company is based out of Florida but my motors came from the Northeast.

Bryan was the only part of the experience that was not horrible, however I believe he has no knowledge of the parts he is actually selling due to the fact they appear to be middle men.

Buyer Beware
September 10, 2018

We purchased a transmission for our sons truck in plenty of time for him to begin senior year of high school in HIS truck.
We have had one run around after another. They sent us a bad transmission although they state all of their products are tested.
We started the refund policy on 8/4 and as of today 9/10 we still have not recieved a refund. We had to pay for their tore up transmission to be diagnosed by a mechanic out of our own pocket.
The accounting department had no record of a refund request from 08/04. We have emailed approximately 20 times and made phone calls to them approx 80 times.
They refused to refund our money back to the card they charged the amount to.

Do NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY with these scam artists!
They simply want your money and could care less from there.

Seen below is the bad transmission they sent us. The 2nd photo is a picture of our sons truck as it sits and he drives mamma and daddy's vehicle to his most memorable year of highschool.

I bought a Hyundai Sonata Turbo engine and AC compressor $2395. 00 from them... First of all they didn't ship the compressor at all and they sent a broken engine when I called they said they were going to ship the compressor which I never got and asked me to ship back the engine out of my pocket $800 before they could think of sending me my money back... This company is a scam and I am so taking their ads to court, they must either send me a good engine or give back money.

People beware!

Purchased a used Mini Cooper engine from this company and the engine arrived with water mixed with the engine oil. When I contacted the company with pics of the oil and explained what I received they claimed the water was from pressure washing the engine. Impossible. The water was fully mixed with the oil and flowing out of the oil drain hole. They said that was my opinion?

They said if I wanted to pay to ship the bad engine back to them on my dime they would refund me less a 20% restock fee. Unbelievable. I immediately disputed the purchase with my credit card company and it has been charged back. Do not do business with this company.

My story is very similar to others seen here. Bought an automatic transmission for a Mazda 5 2010, allegedly with 50K miles on it. The shop installing it was not impressed with the condition, referring to it as having dirt jammed in places, and corrosion in locations. After installation, it behaved poorly, clearly not a good used tranny. So I start up a warranty claim, and low and behold, the email address printed in the warranty paperwork to send it to doesn't exist. That shows their commitment to honor their warranty. The people working here are going to hell, eventually, because this is awful, unethical business behavior.
