Would have left a - 1 if able. I try to focus on the good some companies do and write good reviews and not bad on the not so good ones; but this "outfit" deserves the time. Ordered a so called " drive tested" cvt trans from this " company" for a 2010 nissan maxima. Received trans and mechanic removed the old and installed this "drive tested" trans. When mechanic teat drove the vehicle it was pouring fluid from pump gasket (If trans would have been so called "drive tested" this would have been obvious to a non mechanic) so had to pay again to have trans pulled back out, pump gasket replaced; and trans reinstalled! Test drove and trans would not shift out of low range. Took car to nissan dealer and had ecm and tcm reflashed. No difference. Service tech said something "wrong" with trans. Took car to trans shop where they priced us a total of $3975 for rebuilt nissan trans and labor. Left the car with them and they were good enough to check the trans before replacing it and found the valve body was bad and replaced it. Operates like it should now. How can a " drive tested" trans with a really bad leak at pump gasket and hung up in low gear not be noticed by whoever " test drove " the trans? (Common sense) The only answer I received from them was the old go to " it was fine when it left here". HOW CAN THAT EVEN RESEMBLE THE TRUTH? I guess the freight companies are now in the business of removing good valve bodies and replacing them with non functioning ones. This little endeavor with this company ended up costing us over 5k. This is partially my fault for thinking this company might do business like my great grandfather did at his ford dealership; honorable and took care of his customers but I'm afraid there is not many of those left as apperant with this transaction. Tried to file a what they call a "warranty " claim. " I need diagnostic codes and seal recpts" is what I was told. No where in the warranty does it mention replacing pump gasket but does mention replacing other gaskets. So how does replacing gaskets (that aren't leaking) going to prevent pump gasket from leaking? Do those gaskets also cause a valve body to go bad? NO THEY DONT! (AGAIN, COMMON SENSE) This company evidently does not have the morals that companies used to have and choose to not see facts. I agree the seals mentioned in their so called " warranty " were not replaced (because they weren't leaking). Did that cause the pump gasket and valve body to be bad? I hope they don't honestly believe that; although it appears they do instead of looking at facts and doing the right thing. Trans may have been " drive tested"; years ago.
If you are trying to decide about buying from this company I hope this review helps. Hopefully you will get good parts and service. All I can do is be honest and share the "TERRIBLE " experience whe had with them and voice it on "BBB" and other sights.
Bad cot trans
I purchased a used engine from AM Used Auto Parts on 7-3-2023. The way the purchase went was, I went to their website and put in the engine I was looking for. It asked for Year, Make, Model, Part Type, and Engine size. I filled out the form and submitted it. A couple days later I get a call from Bryan, one of the sales folks that works for AM Used Auto Parts saying that they had the engine I was looking for. I asked him if he needed the VIN, which he never asked for prior to telling me they had the engine. This is critical because in 2014 Ford made several versions of the 1.6L engine and the only way to tell what version you had in your vehicle was to look at the 8th digit in the VIN. In my case, this was "X" which tells them I needed a 1.6L GTDI with a cylinder head temperature port. I gave Bryan the VIN and told him to be sure to note the "X" in the VIN.
When looking for a replacement engine, I contacted multiple salvage yards and every one of them knew the correct engine I needed when I gave them the VIN, I contacted Ford who told me the only 1.6L engine that went into the 2014 Ford Escape was the one with the cylinder head temperature port. They should have known that if they had performed the slightest due diligence on the VIN I gave them.
I had the engine sent directly to the auto shop that was working on my car. They installed the engine only to discover it did not have the necessary port. The engine would not work because as soon as the motor reached operating temperature, the computer would shut the engine down.
I contacted AM Used Auto and told them that they had send me the wrong engine. They denied any fault and stated they gave me exactly what I asked for. I drove the engine back to their place of business and returned it to them. A few days later I received a check from them for $1837.50. They had deducted $420 from my refund for a restocking fee. Their sales paperwork clearly states they will provide a full refund for any incorrect items sent.
I have sent multiple emails trying to explain to them that they could have easily looked up which engine went into the vehicle if they had only taken the time to do so. I made sure they had the VIN, I told the salesperson to make sure he noted the engine type character in the VIN, and they are saying it's my fault because I did not tell them specifically to make sure they got and engine with the cylinder head temperature sensor.
They like to use phrases like "Have a Blessed Day" to give you the impression that they are God fearing Christians, but they are just like the online scammers that invoke God in their scam emails to try to get their victims to trust them.
Nothing
Purchased a too good to be true transmission from AM Used Auto Parts. Had it shipped to my mechanic (whom wanted to use his parts dealers as he didn't know anything about AM. He wanted to deal with a company he felt was reliable. However, I was trying to stay within my budget, and I stupidly requested he let me purchase from AM).
AM, sold me the transmission for $1825. Said it was working when they shipped it.
My mechanic installed it, and it broke down almost 3 months exactly from time of installation. When pulled from the vehicle, my mechanic found pieces of metal in the pan. It wouldn't go into drive, nor reverse. Left me stranded.
Now I'm out $1825 plus about $4000 for installation.
AM says they have a warranty, and agree to refund me if I spend another $450 to return the transmission to them within 30 days. Which I did. They then charged me a $400 restocking fee for a transmission that is not in working condition (i.e it isn't a new item being restocked, nor is it a working item being restocked. It's a broken item... being restocked for what purpose). There is nothing to restock, nor should they have even wanted it back. Which means they plan on selling it to the next unsuspecting customer that's in a financial bind and can't hire representation to defend themselves against this business.
I ended up having to purchase another actually rebuilt quality transmission, and have it reinstalled at another $6000 out of pocket.
AM basically owes me $6275. Yet, I'll never see that money. AM said they would also provide a full refund in an email that I've sent to the BBB in my complaint.
This business is fraudulent, and if an attorney would like to do a class action lawsuit, I would be very interested.
As bad as this company is, I have no doubt that any positive review they have is either paid for or from their staff members, family and friends. This company is a scam, and there is no way anyone is receiving anything worth installing in their vehicles. Simply isn't possible. It is possible that people leave reviews before giving the purchased transmission time to run before it breaks, and then they aren't updating their review. In which case, those positive reviews are short lived relief for the purchaser.
They also do not provide any assistance with shipping the transmission back. I'm guessing they are hoping you lose hope and simply do not ship it back within their 30 day timeframe. Or, that you will lose hope and just accept that you've lost all of your money.
You need to contact a long haul transportation company. They will assist you. You'll need to make sure the transmission (which weighs somewhere around 300 pounds) is on a pallet. You'll receive a shipping label for the transmission, your records, the driver, and the receiving AM.
You'll have to pay for a lift gate truck both picking up and dropping off, which adds to the price about $200.
It may take a few days, week, or couple weeks to arrive so make sure you start this process right away.
The transportation company will need a credit card on file, and money up front (which I'm sure is also a reason poor and impoverished people do not send back their broken items from this company. Which means they lose all their money). Be prepared to pay upfront.
Then file a claim with the better business bureau. Then follow through with a complaint to the Florida Consumer Alerts at http://myfloridalegal.com/pages.nsf/Main/C279C5BAAB84F*******845C005C79C6.
AM will respond with something silly and meaningless but they think it makes them look good. They will say when they received it back it worked great, or you didn't follow their return policy. If any customer is reading their reply's and thinking they sound reasonable. Think again. They sound reasonable because that is how they make their money. They draw in their next victim by sounding like they know what they are talking about, but they know full well what they sent you was a lemon.
Keep that in mind - they are lying to potential customers for the sake of scamming another unsuspecting victim.
Don't purchase from them. The risk of losing every dime you spend is approximately 99%. They are scam artists. My professional mechanic installed the piece of junk, and it broke in about 3 months. AM does not stand behind the quality, value nor their warranty. They'll try and bleed you dry, and hope you go away. All the while posting their apology online that you had a bad experience. They aren't sorry, their gaming you.

On February 1,2022, I ordered an engine for my 2009 Honda Accord, from AMuap. The order went through, and I got a confirmation. On February 3,2022, I received an email, see below, from AMuap asking me what engine I needed. I had hoped that my engine would be shipped by February 3rd. Not only that, how can they not know what I need when they sent me a confirmation on February 1st that they have the engine in stock? That same day i. E., February 3rd, I did some research and found out that AMuap was not reliable. I then decided to cancel my order, which I did. I got a refund in a form of a check with $239 for restocking fee. So, I contacted the sales department and explained that there cannot be a restocking fee if you never got an engine out of stock. In fact, you sent me an email asking what kind of an engine I needed. You cannot just $239 for no reason. As the reviews showed me, it is complete silence until this day. I want you guys not to fall for scams. Look for parts locally; meaning within a couple of dozens of miles away so you may drive and check what you're buying.
I am still hoping that AMuap will reimburse me my $239. Otherwise, I will post this review on every single site that deals with reviews.
1. Here's AMuap's email confirming they HAVE the engine. This is on February 1st. In number 2 below, you'll notice that on February 3rd they still don't know what engine goes into my car (and then they talk about restocking fee).

Don't read the reviews AMuap has on their website, because they are very misleading. Look at the victims reviews. AMuap has a 1 star overall. It is for a reason. Stay away!!!
None. I cancelled the order before they even knew what kind of engine I needed. Please read the contents of the complaint. Thanks.

If you're looking for a good used engine, DO NOT buy one from AM Used Auto Parts! I needed a replacement engine for my Toyota Camry and bought one online on December 9th, 2019 for $1,500.00 plus an additional shipping cost of $80.00 to have it delivered to my house. The engine was supposed to have a 3 year warranty if certain conditions were met and it was guaranteed to have no more than 68,000 miles on it and free from damage.
I received the engine, strapped to a pallet on December 19th, 10 days later, at about 1:48 PM. The engine came with extra accessories that were not covered under the warranty, such as the sensors, wiring harness (that was cut from the car), intake manifold, etc. I immediately began to remove these items so that I could get the engine ready to install, using my own accessories, which were removed from my old engine. As I began to remove the lower, forward engine mount, I didn't have to remove the last bolt because the mount just fell off because it was broken from the engine block. I discovered this less than an hour after receiving the engine.
I immediately called Joseph Miller, the salesman who sold me the engine, to let him know what I found. He asked me to email photos of the damage, which I did within minutes after speaking with him on the phone. I followed up with a phone call back to the salesman and he informed me that he would have to send the photos to his manager before he could do anything, but he did tell me that the break looked fresh, and that he suggested that I am the one who broke it. I explained to him that the engine was still strapped to the pallet, and the pallet itself was not damaged. I expected that AM Used Auto Parts would immediately send a replacement and I would send the damaged engine back with the same shipper that would deliver the replacement. It was a week before Christmas, so I was willing to wait another 10 days for the replacement. As I said, this is what I expected. However, every day leading up to Christmas, I called AM Used Auto Parts only to get their voicemail. They never returned my calls. A voice message on December 23rd said they would be on vacation until December 30th, so I had to wait until they returned from their vacation to speak to the salesman again.
On December 30th, I finally spoke with the salesman, and he informed me that they determined that I was the one who broke the engine and they were not going to do anything to help me. He suggested that I have it welded. But, if I wanted a refund, I would have to ship the engine back to them at my expense and if it was determined that the defect was not caused by me, they would refund my money. Reluctantly, I shipped the engine back to them at a cost of $275.00 and filed a dispute with my credit card company. My credit card company gave me a conditional credit until they completed their investigation.
On January 22nd, 2020, my credit card company reversed their conditional credit saying that unless I could provide further evidence, I would not be given a refund. At that point, the engine was in their possession and so was my $1,580.00. I sent the credit card company further evidence and finally, on January 25th, 2020, the credit card dispute was resolved in my favor and I was given a permanent credit of $1,580.00.
I made a couple of mistakes with this transaction. First, I bought the engine, sight unseen. I strongly recommend not doing that. Second, I didn't research the company before I bought the engine from them. I was seduced by the 3 year warranty, with conditions, which they make nearly impossible to meet. Everyone else seemed to only offer 3 or 6 month warranties. And third, although AM Used Auto Parts is located in Lithia, Florida, this engine actually came from a salvage yard in Wichita, Kansas. I suspect the engine was damaged as it was being removed from a vehicle in the salvage yard. On the bright side, while waiting for a resolution, I rebuilt my original engine, using genuine Toyota parts, for around $1,100.00. I should have done that in the first place.
Stay away from this site! The company is located in Lithia, Florida and the salvage yard they used to ship my engine from is in Wichita, Kansas. All returns are at your expense, even if the parts arrive damaged.
I returned the engine at my expense and didn't purchase anything else from them. I never will!
