In Gurnee IL the Dr examined 3 patients, while the "fitters" were working on one. Waited 1 HR before I left without my glasses were ordered. The staff weremaking faces whenthey had to take some one's order, or just walk away to return after 10 min or so, and start complaining about something to the coworker. Will never use their service.
One pair of glasses hadn't even been put together. I should have went to pick up my glasses myself so that I could have complained there. There was no screws in the frame or glasses case. Like they forgot to assemble them. Then my sister has gotten two pairs of glasses from them one pair the tint was not put on right. It looks like the lenses are shattered and another pair they are so foggy you can't see out of them. I myself spent 280$ cash on the pair of glasses that wasnt assembled. That is rediculous. I have also called numberous times to America's best in Lakewood by the Lakewood mall and have asked them over and over again to email me or fax me over my prescription so that I may order glasses from somewhere else they always tell me yes and never do.
Don't waste your time this place is a scam... Just find a good Dr or go to walmart where you know what your getting. I made an appointment I had frames they told me I could use the frames that I had... It cost $75 for the exam. I sat down they told me no we can't use your frames you have to use ours. So I picked out theirs. Which were crap. And they cost another $105$. I didnt even get a nice pair of glasses they were just ok. I feel so upset that they scammed me. I would not ever go there again. And I would not ever tell anyone to go there. This place is crap. I hate walmart and I would tell everyone to go there first. Plastic frames and lens...
Salpi and the staff at the location on Foothill Blvd did a great job in reviewing the condition of my vision, taking care of the chore of my getting new eyeglasses and the best options for me. Thanks to everyone..
I have purchased glasses from America's Best in the past.
Today I went to the store in Holmdel N. J. to have two pair of glasses repaired
The screws fell out of them.
I was greeted by Kervin he immediately took the glasses and fixed them which took him
Awhile it wasn't an easy fix. When finished I asked what I owed and he politely said no charge.
The service from Kervin and the Holmdel store is unbeatable.
I would recommend Americas' Best in Holmdel to everyone.
Especially Kervin
Carol O'Hare
Went to mentor store everyone there was great special shout out to Katie she was so funny and so nice I got three pair of glasses for less than I paid for one at lens crafter and nicer people all of them are great
I visited the Monroeville store and had a great experience. I was impressed with the wait time, the cleanliness of the store, the pleasant, friendly and very welcoming staff, price, selection and Tracy, the manager. She was so knowledgable and helpful and not pushy at all. I was very happy when I left and I will be going back for all my eyeglass needs.
Could not get my prescription right! Charged me for 2 separate exams and still could not get it right. Ordered contacts wound up canceling the order due to no traceability of the order and people at the store could care less!
Yeah, my exam & everything was great... all I needed to know waa when my eyeglasses were coming in and I thought that was a simple question, but I was put on hold 30 minutes a shot each time never got the answers and I went through about four or five different people instead of saying I'm really not sure will try to get back with you nothing no customer service no personality it was horrible got my glasses and now I believe I either had him lost or stolen I thought there was a warranty with it the lady in the place that I got it that answered the phone she put me on hold just left the receiver setting on the counter off the phone jack... my question is if that's how they do business I won't be back I'll take my prescription elsewhere like Walmart the guy that did the exam has pretty decent I'll probably go back for him to review my eye health and well-being but other than that I would never go back
When someone goes above and beyond for you It should be recognized. That's why I am writing about Katlynn Tyler.
I am from out of town and don't have an eye dr here. I started having vision problems and pain. I made several calls and couldn't get an appointment for a month. Until I spoke to Kaitlynn, she spoke with a nurse where she works and determined that I shouldn't wait to be seen. Katlynn then spent a lot of time calling many places until she found me an appointment for the next day. I can't thank her enough for what she did. Katlynn is a true asset to her field.
Went in and had them precheck my insurance and got all the facts. Seems like it was a con from the word go. They were trying to charge me 459. For
Lenses that is straight lenses with bifocal. When I declined because they couldn't break it down I left with the frames. Seems they maxed me out on the frames. Insurance said they charged me as if they had used the prescription and advised me to go back and request a refund. I went in and got dirty looks and had a 20 minute wait. The GM was barking at me and they did a refund rude and not happy. Same glasses same prescription down the street I Had 15. Out of pocket. Lot different than 459. For the same identical item.
A year ago I went to "America's Best" to get 2 pairs of glasses for around $100. NOT!
While they do have a small selection of $79 glasses the prices of their frames are mostly around $149. Even though I found 2 pairs of frames I liked that were each $29.00 "closeouts" I was quoted a final cost of $589.00! I told them I wanted GLASS which they said they don't do. They tried to sell me their "top quality scratch resistant plastic" which is total crap since no Matt how much I've been charged in the past THEY ARE SCRATCHED within a couple months. I do wear bifocals so I understand there is an upcharge for that but I requested NO EXTRAS! The final cost was $450.
I will never go back to America's Best Rip Off again.
Worst place ever had a phone call a day before appointment just to let me know I need a extra adult to be im with my children when they are 15 Year old 13 and 12 I don't know for what when they are not little kids waisted my time scheduling appointments instead of just saying it when people schedule it ahead a time meaning not a day ahead but a whole week ahead time not even worth a whole star
I purchase a $90 dollar pair of glasses and within three weeks one of the lens fell out. I was able to place it back into the glasses. Then within 6 weeks I simply put on a hoodie and the wire frame came out and my glasses were useless. These are America's Worst Glasses, STAY AWAY!
My exam was very though the ladies and girls there were rude not helpful and never thanked me Very poor customer service I needed to return glasses as I felt they were not fitted correctly and was rudely told they are fine do you want a refund or not I will not recommend them,
Went to America's Best for eye exam and new contact lenses on May 28 and the order wasn't sent out from the store until June 17. And probably wouldn't have gone out then if I hadn't called to see where they were. I will never go to America's Best again.
I went into the Tamarac location to get an eye exam which I regret. I normally go to LensCrafters at Aventura but didn't feel like taking the drive and dealing with the traffic. I wish that I just went to my doctor. I had an eye exam at American Best and it is taking them a month to get back my trial pair contacts. I never had to wait so long for contacts let along a trial pair. I would never go back to this company!
Followed all the rules. Filled out all the forms and talked to an associate on the phone. Asked what their policy was and was required to wear a mask. All good.
Walked in and more paperwork was required but it was all about Covid. I have had covid. I have my shots. But I was honest and said I was outside at a function with my mask on and there were people who said they were testing positive. She said 2 weeks I was good. Went to sit down and they told me I had to leave.
Why wasn't this told to me.
No apology. Wasted my whole day said I could come in for another week.
Lost my business.
They claim your time is important to them.
They do not care about you time.
Going to LensCrafters
If you know you need glasses bad it might be ok but no matter how well you see they will try to sell you glasses. I went for the exam only and was told nothing.
There are two female receptionists at the front desk (Reynolds Crossing Location) with serious coughing problems. You can clearly hear the phlegm come up in their mouth and instead of them spitting it out, they sit there and swallow it, DAMM.
SIMPLY NASTY. Someone needs to teach a course on office etiquette, especially as a customer service provider!
Answer: I got a super cheap clear plastic case, very cheap
Answer: From my experience, calling America's Best customer service is an exercise in wasting time. The telephone supervisor I spoke with displayed no interest in the mistreatment at the store, the store's loss of eye exam/purchase records, or the manager's apparent hostility towards the disabled. I was actually informed all America's Best stores have a partially hidden ("not-prominently displayed") sign stating the store can refuse service to anyone. This should be investigated.
Answer: Thought I would be getting two pairs of glasses for $79.99. False advertising there!
Answer: Potential customers have the option of going online and going through the wide variety of frames (divided into men, women, and kids and price-point categories). Then, go to the store, hand your list to your consultant, and try on the frames. There are other on-line sellers that glasses by mail. I was turned off at the complicated criteria for measuring one's face for a proper fit. I prefer to get fitted on-site, not online.
Answer: I can't answer for any store but the one I visited. My eye exam there was conducted on Saturday morning. I do believe all stores do offer Saturday appointments, but best check by calling first.
The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in certain locations where customers report positive interactions and helpful staff. However, a significant number of reviews highlight serious concerns regarding customer service, including perceived incompetence, rudeness, and a lack of adequate support. Many customers express frustration with misleading pricing and service delays, particularly related to glasses prescriptions. Overall, while some locations provide satisfactory service and quality products, widespread complaints about inconsistency in service and product reliability suggest a pressing need for improvement in customer care and operational efficiency across the board.
