They cost me for getting a job they didn't meet their promises and it took me 4 months to finally get a job I will not ever recommend them to my worst enemy
I have been to America Best twice. The first one was TERRIBLE!. I gave it another try, the Customer Service Representatives were nice BUT HIGHLY INCOMPETENT. They talked me into buying one pair of eye glasses for $635 for the progressive lenses. I went to pickup my glass and it was horrible that I could not see that well. The staff asked me to go to my eye doctor to have the eyes checked again. I persisted that something was not right because my prescription was new just about a month from my eye doctor. I asked them to check again to make sure the measure was correct or the lab might have made a mistake. It turned out the lab did not do it correctly. In summary, glasses and progressive lenses qualities are very low. The staff are highly incompetent and not qualified enough by directing customers into wrong directions. That really wastes time, energy, and money!
I had one of the worst experiences I have ever had in their establishment yesterday. Their technician (KIANA) was incredibly rude to me. She did not greet me when I walked in the room, she did not make eye contact, she acted like she was angry with me the entire time, and she did not explain the process to me at all. She then proceeded to become frustrated when I did not know what to do next. I find all of this very disturbing. She seems ill equipped to work with the public. I can't imagine they want that type of attitude representing their business? I am a business owner myself. I found all of this so disrespectful and rude.

I ordered 2 sets of glasses online on 7/4/24, they showed estimated ship date of 7/14/24. It's now 7/19/24 and I can't even get a status update, after waiting over 30 minutes on hold I gave up and left a voicemail message. We'll see if I get any response from "customer care" or should I say "customer, we don't care".
I have been coming to Americas Best for years... even the same location (The Forum), because they were always friendly and showed they cared and wanted to make sure I got all my questions answered. Well today the first person / eye exam was a robot...the Dr...she was GREAT... then to pick out my glasses and the check out process. The young lady made me feel like I was a bother. Every question I asked, her eyes got closer and closer to rolling to the back of her head. I think when I pay my portion after insurance of over 300$, I have the right not only to ask questions, but to know the itemized charges of the cost. She was very pissy when I wanted this info. I hate making this post. But darn it if you cannot give good caring customer service, find another job!
I have been a customer for several years. Multiple glasses and lenses purchased due to changing eyes.
The staff at America's Best in York, PA have been great to work with. When their supplier for a sun glass frame had difficulty with the lenses, they provided alternatives and worked with me. I experienced excellent service from the staff. Mike the manager was involved and was super to work with.
Next time I need glasses I'll be back. I recommend the York, PA America's Best! - Doug D.
America's Best truly is the best period I've been going There for several years now. Special shout out to the staff at America's Best in Colonie New york. Today they found me a wonderful deal. And in addition as usual they were professional kind patient and helpful. Thank you extremely satisfied customer Alexandria K Nelson
I went to America's Best thinking I would be getting two pairs of prescription glasses for $79 which is what they advertise. The frames I picked were labeled two for $79.99 so I picked two frames. We have insurance and I was told that was only without insurance and only frames though the advertisement online states two pair of prescription glasses. Customer service isn't great and I wound up paying as much as I did at Pearle Vision and they had a bigger variety of frames and customer service was top notch. I can tell these frames are cheap and I really regret going there. Of course they don't tell you about the bait and switch until after you've had the exam. I should have taken the prescription and taken it to Pearle Vision for far, far better frames.
They charged me $85 dollars for an exam that was supposed to be free. Now I see that there is one examination that is free and another which is not. So the information they gave me was confusing. On purpose? They try to send me expensive frames. In the end, the reading glasses they gave me were defective and they only refunded me $10 once they told me I had to leave the glasses!
Never again, not me, not my family, not my friends. Ever!
I went to the Americas Best in Crestwood about 1 week ago. My exam was rushed and my concerns not addressed because the doctor was headed out for lunch. I will never go here again or recommend them! They showed no compsssion and during my pre exam he shot about 25 puffs of air in one eye. My eye was irritated and he kept right on. The worst experience ever, I understand why people dont go to the doctor for nonsense like this!
Worst experience ever. Not to say the glasses were not made to prescription. The instore personnel do not have the correct training in my opinion. They bent my frames to get the lenses to be in focus...come on. I will never use America's best or suggest it to anyone.
I was a previous customer. I looked up special ( 2 pair of glasses) online for $69.96 before visiting the store in Plano Texas. Went in with a prescription from my eye doctor and picked out frames 2 frames for the special, I wanted 2 pairs of sunglasses and was told they were $50 more per each pair, picked out 2 different tints and was quoted $250 without any coatings. I ask what happened to the $69.95 plus $100 for sunglass lens. They said I had to get exam for the special, I said OK and waited 45 minutes for exam. And optimist said no I didn't, took me back, still $250. WILL NEVER RETURN & TELL FRIENDS!
Not very professional support staff. Manager took my prescription and processed my glasses effortlessly. However the logistics and dealing with other store personnel could use some improvement. Start with learning basic people skills. Had I not just spent $400 with your company I would've walked out. I will not return for my future prescriptions. The customer experience left nothing to be desired. Store manager was knowledgeable but could've used more experienced help that day.
Went to eye doctor at America's best for glasses and exam. On commercials it says something like $59.95 for general exam and two pairs of glasses. What I ended up with is a blue pair of regular reading glasses and not a very thorough exam at all. My insurance was charged over $250 and I had to pay a few dollars out of pocket. Definitely will never return to this company! Their commercials exaggerate what you get and what they end up doing is cheating insurance companies by charging so much for so little. Don't go to this place! You have been warned.
First, they take 2 weeks+ to fill your eyeglasses prescription! Second, they put the old prescription in my new glasses! I was then told that it would take a few days to correct the problem. So far its a week later and still no call from them. At my last eye exam at a different optometrist they checked my prescription on my AB eyeglasses and it was off by. 25! This place should be out of business! Save yourself the headache of dealing with this horrible place and go elsewhere.
I paid for my daughters contacts 6 weeks ago, that's right, 6 and still no contacts! I call the store 2-3 times a week and everyone says "they will look into it and call me back". Well, that never happens. Finally got the manager on the phone this weekend, thought I was making progress, nope! He promised to call me back Monday with an answer and nothing. Here I go again, calling the store to get some clarification. The manager still after 6 weeks has no explanation? Please just give me money back and let me order from someone who will actually get contacts in my daughters eyes before the start of the school year.
Just got my glasses after 2 weeks and almost 700 dollars and there worse then my 3 yr old ones. Two different focal points and wrong location of focal points on the lenses. Sad when a 90 yr old man at Fred meters does a better job. Think I will be looking for a full refund.
My experience with this company was very bad, I bought some beautiful glasses but after three months they no longer worked. The ink they use was all broken preventing visibility and the worst of all that when I went to complain they told me that I had to buy new ones because they had no guarantee but for a month, after having spent my insurance and an additional amount of almost $ 400... I really tell them that they use very bad materials and the customer support worse left me waiting for a call that I never received... Don't put your eyes on that irresponsible and unreliable company.
Never come here for eye glasses or contacts. The customer service is terrible. I sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes before sitting outside the exam room for another 30. I wanted to switch from monthly to daily contacts and they made me schedule 3 separate exams spanning across 3 months. The employees actively argue in front of customers about who is in charge when the manager is out of the office. The store is inefficient and an awful experience every time.
This company is the worst. I paid $444 for prescription glasses. The lens kept popping out unexpectedly and flying away. In less than a year, tiny scratches were all over the lens impairing my vision, especially at night with oncoming cars. When I took them in to be fixed, all they said was that I have to pay for new lenses. I would never buy lenses from them again. The frames were apparently faulty because they didn't hold in one of the lenses. What a terrible decision I made to buy my glasses from them.
Answer: I got a super cheap clear plastic case, very cheap
Answer: From my experience, calling America's Best customer service is an exercise in wasting time. The telephone supervisor I spoke with displayed no interest in the mistreatment at the store, the store's loss of eye exam/purchase records, or the manager's apparent hostility towards the disabled. I was actually informed all America's Best stores have a partially hidden ("not-prominently displayed") sign stating the store can refuse service to anyone. This should be investigated.
Answer: Thought I would be getting two pairs of glasses for $79.99. False advertising there!
Answer: Potential customers have the option of going online and going through the wide variety of frames (divided into men, women, and kids and price-point categories). Then, go to the store, hand your list to your consultant, and try on the frames. There are other on-line sellers that glasses by mail. I was turned off at the complicated criteria for measuring one's face for a proper fit. I prefer to get fitted on-site, not online.
Answer: I can't answer for any store but the one I visited. My eye exam there was conducted on Saturday morning. I do believe all stores do offer Saturday appointments, but best check by calling first.
