Never come here for eye glasses or contacts. The customer service is terrible. I sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes before sitting outside the exam room for another 30. I wanted to switch from monthly to daily contacts and they made me schedule 3 separate exams spanning across 3 months. The employees actively argue in front of customers about who is in charge when the manager is out of the office. The store is inefficient and an awful experience every time.
This company is the worst. I paid $444 for prescription glasses. The lens kept popping out unexpectedly and flying away. In less than a year, tiny scratches were all over the lens impairing my vision, especially at night with oncoming cars. When I took them in to be fixed, all they said was that I have to pay for new lenses. I would never buy lenses from them again. The frames were apparently faulty because they didn't hold in one of the lenses. What a terrible decision I made to buy my glasses from them.
My appointment was scheduled for 11 o'clock it is now 12:40 and still waiting to see doctor with someone ahead of me! When asked if running behind why don't they contact their clients and let them leave for appointment later or a chance to reschedule. I got the dumbness look and said don't do that. I was offered to reschedule but after waiting so long I'm staying. Because she said I'd most likely have a long wait then again. I will not come back as my time is just as valuable as theirs. Very poor policy on scheduling
To many games, know one can answer a question, went in for eyeglass AND contacts. They only did eyeglass exam, won't give me a copy of my prescription so I can go else where. Woman whom answered phone was rude to the point of offensive. Will never go back or recommend. Stay away their horrible.
So I called to get an appointment and was sure to ask all the questions about the appointment based on a email I got from Americas best. First question was, is the eye exam free, they said yes with the purchase of a two for $79 glasses. So I'm now at the appointment where this that and the other is a different charge. End of my exam and I thought at the most I'd be paying $120, no no no it was $423 I didn't have any thing special done
The negative reviews I have read I find surprising. Apparently, these folks did not go to America's best in DeKalb Illinois. I have been there three times and was always happy with my results. Today, April 22,2021, I had an appointment with America's best and I was extremely pleased with the level of professionalism and kindness shown. I give very high praise to the young lady(Alicia)at the end who help me with the ordering of my new glasses. She was very sweet and kind with an endearing sense of humor that placed me at ease. I wish only the best for all of the staff. My heartfelt thank you, Timmy Rogers.
Long waiting for anything, just to get prescription after the exam taking forever. Bad running business and bad practice keep people waiting just to get prescription. If I go to Costco, its already done. This will be the last time coming here.
On June 19th, I went to an appointment for my eyes to be examined and to get new contacts at 3190 S. Central Expressway, Suite #530, McKinney, Texas. The doctor was very professional and so were her support staff. That's was the best part of the visit. The sales staff was sluggish to assist. An employee was sitting and not helping anyone. I had to ask him if he was working on another order. He said no, but didn't offer to help me. I asked him if he could help process my order for contacts. Reluctantly, Andre, said he could. Incidentally, his appearance was unprofessional with greasy, unkempt hair and wrinkled clothes. This was my first time there and I assumed the employees would have been more professional like going to any other medical office. I was told my contacts would be back in within 7-10 business days and I would be called. I waited for a call to tell me my contacts were in and never received one. I called on June 28th to ask if they had been delivered. The customer service representative, Arwen, said, "They had just come in and she would contact me when they were through being processed." I never received a call. I ended up going there to get them. This place has poor customer service. The name is deceiving. It's NOT America's Best and the name should be changed to America's Mediocrity. This was my only interaction and I won't use them again. My money can go somewhere else.
There getting to high on cost for eye exam the will do exam and now they are charging more for the same for the last time I was there, there a additional $20 charge for the same thing I got before and glasses and exam was $373.00 for two pairs after this I will never go back to them, every were you go now days it looks like there scammers on cost I give them a 3 on rating
I have been very pleased with my in-store experiences. My main issue comes from the dozen emails, texts, and phone calls you receive. I got 3 texts messages in 2 days for an appointment I had confirmed I would be attending, after the confirmation. I received emails reminding me about my appointment after my confirmation. I have received several calls and emails and text messages about my contact and glasses being ready. It is wildly obnoxious. I get it. They're ready. My contacts have been ready to pick up for 2 days and I've gotten calls, emails, and text messages already. I wish I could opt out but I need to know when they're ready. I wish I could lower the number of reminders.
My experience with America's Best was absolutely 100% positive. Got an easy appointment, took care of me right away and extremely professionally, great value for designer frames, pointed out designer frames on sale, made sure I got my insurance discount, received completed glasses in about a week. I got two pair of bifocals for little over
$100.00. I will not go anywhere else
Went to LensCrafters but left after our exams due to the fact that we were being pressured into purchasing high dollar frames and lenses. Drove over to America's Best and immediately spoken too and offers of help with information on what type of frames that would be suitable for our faces. Received a call a week after we picked up our glasses to let us know that they are always available if we need repairs or adjustments. We will not go anywhere else for our eye care.
Location in Blue Springs MO. Decided to try this place because I didn't have insurance. Exam was fine. Dr was professional and thorough. We did find out there are stipulations for a free exam. Advertisement is a bit misleading and the add ons add up. Nathan was my staff person and he was very helpful in explaining the pricing and in assisting in picking out the frames. I don't have the glasses yet so I can't speak to the final product. I will say, if I had insurance I would probably pay the same amount or a little less.
I have a broken nose and it's very difficult to fit a frame perfectly. But this time I picked up a frame which fit perfectly, with transitions and bifocal, I finally found my perfect partner
People are polite and helpful. Still use face mask in store, smart. Been their customer for years.
Went in wearing a CDC approved Gaiter double layer mask, bought $578 worth of glasses and returned wearing same mask to pick the prescription up when ready... no problems. Went back 1 week later for a quick adjustment again wearing my USA flag double layer Gaiter style mask and was told they are not acceptable and was handed a paper thin blue CVS brand disposable mask that clearly was inferior. I refused to go sub grade with this crap mask. After refusing to let me show the manager the CDC.gov website citing that double layer gaiters are approved masks, I was yelled at and told to leave. I insisted to be refunded before I would leave. I think Karen had had enough of my American flag mask. I got my money and there are lots of better places to buy Ray Bans.
My husband and I both purchases glasses at the Huber Heights, Oh location. The representative was very helpful, professional and knowledgeable. She didn't try to push products on us but suggested what lenses would work best for our lifestyles. Will definitely return
America's Best has never sold any glasses for advertised price. Even with $200 insurance my co pay was $67. Two -Three weeks before delivery. Seniors should be warned Medicare Insurance can not be used in $99 eye exam & two pair of glasses special. Not one thing positive for me to say about these crooks!
This is by far the worst experience. Eye exam was great until you pick up your glasses/contacts. Wrong prescription for 2 of us and then didn't even bother to place the order a second time. They led us to believe that it would be 2 weeks. When we called for our order they dismissed us like trash not taking responsibility for their mistakes and then was hung up on multiple times bt the front desk lady. No apologies and I had spent over $600. What a joke. You lost a whole family for life.
I booked my appointment two months in advance. Walked in for it and yet was told that they called yo cancel. I have no calls from them at all. Even if they did try calling why would they not leave a message cancelling the appointment. Just lying to try to cover their asses. Never again.
Although I could not take advantage of the 69.95 deal as I have progressive glasses the staff worked with me took time and listened to my concerns afterward when I struggled with my new prescription. I had no issues with the service and the end result was a faster than expected return on my order (told 2 weeks) 10 days they were in, Alejandro did a great job for his first day on his own, Dr Ferguson great sense of humor and very attentive.! 00% recommend,
Answer: I got a super cheap clear plastic case, very cheap
Answer: From my experience, calling America's Best customer service is an exercise in wasting time. The telephone supervisor I spoke with displayed no interest in the mistreatment at the store, the store's loss of eye exam/purchase records, or the manager's apparent hostility towards the disabled. I was actually informed all America's Best stores have a partially hidden ("not-prominently displayed") sign stating the store can refuse service to anyone. This should be investigated.
Answer: Thought I would be getting two pairs of glasses for $79.99. False advertising there!
Answer: Potential customers have the option of going online and going through the wide variety of frames (divided into men, women, and kids and price-point categories). Then, go to the store, hand your list to your consultant, and try on the frames. There are other on-line sellers that glasses by mail. I was turned off at the complicated criteria for measuring one's face for a proper fit. I prefer to get fitted on-site, not online.
Answer: I can't answer for any store but the one I visited. My eye exam there was conducted on Saturday morning. I do believe all stores do offer Saturday appointments, but best check by calling first.
