Stay away! Buyers beware. Order a water filter. Listing said it would ship in the US and arrive with a week roughly, April 30, it's May 13th and it never even shipped. Right after I paid for it, the Ali Express app stated it would deliver in 33 days from China. Immediately asked AliExpress and the seller to cancel the order. AliExpress said it depends on the seller. The seller didn't even ship the item and said since it was in process they couldn't cancel. In the US it is illegal to market something and then change the terms after the purchase. But apparently this is how business is done on Ali Express. I'm out almost $300 and still don't have my product. My first and last time ever ordering from AliExpress again. Their communication and process is terrible. In addition to the bait and switch marketing they created. Not a reputable business at all. Stay far away.

I have purchased with them before and felt safe so long as stuff arrived. When it doesn't, the site 'customer service' is carefully designed to appear helpful while doing nothing. I waited til long past the 'latest promised delivery date' and reached out to the seller, who made up a fake delivery date which they couldn't support when I sent photo evidence of the real date. They promised to help then ghosted me. After far too long Aliexpress 'stepped in' and proceeded to lead me in a drawn out process which looped on itself for several weeks. They lie about having 'real agents' because they are also bots, after the first bot gives you useless loop solutions. The second bot will 'make sure you are contacted in 48 hours' and this email will take you to a page promising an update in 'ten days'. After ten days it updates to the current date and repeats the 10 day message. Over and over. After receiving another loop 'resolution' after weeks of 'resolutions' I just reported as scam to my credit card with screenshots. I will never waste my time on this site again. They protect and propagate scammers.

I wanted to order some S size pants but by the time I reached the payment step it automatically switched to XL without me recognizing it, so it made me order a size XL this way. After I received the pants I ordered the S size that I wanted with special attention to this. I once again received an EU size XL instead of the S size, even though now the order said S on my profile. At first they denied to provide a shipping label to send it back. Then they refused to provide me a full refund stating that the evidence I sent was not good enough for them. I had to waste so much time on this sht meanwhile they were trying to nick me purposely (the pants' size tag was empty, but they stitched an S size card to it with a pin). I had to take pictures and measure the product for them, I had to open several tickets through their chat because they kept closing them after 24 hours with no solution. They simply do not care and the only people you can reach - the chat agents cannot do anything, it is a giant waste of time. It is not even possible to leave a review on the product to warn other people, cos they check them and only let the positive ones go through. For example on this product, which is called 'popular' there are only 4 reviews, they're 5 stars and it's not showing anything else. I left a 1 star review with details and it never appeared.

I've been using AliExpress for a couple of years without major issues—until recently. I ordered three rabbit brooches and three cat brooches, but instead, I received three cat brooches and a silver ring originally packed by the manufacturer and a seller with a label " Fashion punk style hollow lines rabbit stainless steel gold-plated 18K brooch, black suit accessories, wedding matching set". I contacted customer service and submitted a return request. I tried every available return reason: "Wrong item sent" – Rejected "Missing parts" – Rejected "The description is misleading" – Rejected Each time, I submitted all required documents: photos, videos, seller communication, tracking info, and even official documentation from the logistics company. Each time, I was told it was insufficient. The customer service chat was completely unhelpful and repeatedly misled me. Even though the purchase was under Choice Policy, I was told I'd be charged $10 per return label—but the label never generated. Now I'm being pushed to return the wrong item to Hong Kong at my expense ($30), for a $10 purchase. This is a scam. It's fraudulent, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. AliExpress places the entire burden of proof on the customer, only to reject claims and wear you down until you give up. It leaves you feeling scammed, frustrated, and frankly, insulted. I highly do NOT recommend AliExpress. After this experience, I will never buy anything from them again.

I tell you honestly about AliExpress shopping, I shop here a lot and am a long-time customer of AliExpress because I am a buyer who wants a good item to use, not that I want to buy and then complain and return it because doing so is a waste of my time. I am proudly one of the least scammable people on the planet so, understandably, I am reluctant to admit that, yes, I got scammed by an AliExpress seller and AliExpress helped them do it. I ordered a number of items and they all came together, individually packaged but all in a big additional bag. This is not unusual. What was unusual, were two of the items I received. One was a wooden teaspoon in a little sealed bag (like you might help yourself to at a coffee shop) which I immediately discarded as it was of no use or value. The other was a small air tight bag that may have been filled with a white powder. I was DEFINITELY not going to open this. For some reason I kept the sealed bag and most of its packaging.
Shortly after this I noticed an item worth about $14, which I had not yet received, was showing as delivered. I raised this as a query and that's when the fun started.
The scam is simple. Instead of sending the $14 item they send me a useless item of zero value which I am almost guaranteed to immediately dump. The $14 item shows as delivered because a delivery of an anonymous wooden teaspoon was recorded.
Because I no longer have the teaspoon or its packaging I can not prove any of this happened and the Ali Express version of justice requires ME to supply proof of innocence.
So, I can kiss good-bye to my $14 dollars.
I have to say that the scam is clever in its simplicity almost to the point of them deserving my $14. Almost.
If it had been $140 I might think differently, but as it's the smaller amount I can right it off as swings and roundabouts. So, the moral of this cautionary tale is to beware of wooden teaspoons or any zero vaue useless item and if you do receive one photograoh it and its packaging from all angles before disposal.

How to survive (and thrive) with AliExpress.
It's been almost a year since I wrote my rather negative review of AliExpress and I have learned a lot since then. To be fair, I think AliExpress has also learn a few things as well. I've continued to use the platform, but my MO has evolved. This, and the fact that AliExpress has also evolved leaves me with fewer murderous thoughts and even, dare I say, a growing fondness.
There are mainly 3 reasons for this:
1. I now rarely order anything that is not in the "Choice" category where, for orders over $15, the entire delivery is free. Also the delivery times are way shorter at around 2 weeks and often even quicker.
2. Also, accessed from the home page, there is another category of personal "picks", which requires the buyer to order at least 3 items to get the free delivery. The items available here are sometime at crazy low prices and the actual items offered seem to be influenced by what you have previously been looking for.
So, I start off by looking for my target items by selecting the "choice" filter, but before going to my cart and purchasing. I look in the "pick" section to see if any of the items in my cart are available here at knock-down prices. This required a bit more effort, but I feel that the rewards make it worthwhile.
3. I have also found that AliExpress has improved their refund policy in several ways.
If an item doesn't arrive by the due date and I request a refund, it will often come through immediately and automatically if the item was of a lower value, and still quite quickly for a more expensive item.
Of course it is still possible that some of your purchases will be total fizzers but a refund request, if accompanied by some good evidentiary photos and a properly laid out written explanation, will now usually be well received. Often, for cheaper items, no return is required and when a return is requested they send a label to cover the shipping cost.
Thing don't always go to plan. I recently received an item I forgot I had ordered 7 MONTHS AGO. As I said in my original review you will need to look at the big picture. Yes there will probably still be disasters and disappointments, but if the overall pricing is leaving you well ahead of the game, you'll come out smiling.
There's ALWAYS a problem.
The AliExpress system appears to have guarantees, but of the wrong type. Their low prices are immediately obvious although it is quite common to suddenly find a delivery charge applied to a "Free Delivery" item, or wildly disproportional delivery charges as the quantity increases. And that's OK, because if you are vigilant, you can avoid these many crafty traps.
What you can't avoid is the result of being sent a totally different product to what you ordered and also finding that it is unusable because of a very obvious manufacturing fault.
1. The cost of returning the item is often greater than it's value.
2. AliExpress has a very Chinese approach to justice which is impossible to negotiate by western standards. Some of this could be explained by the language barrier and problems with auto-translation which is mostly only entertaining.
3. Their appeal system is totally hit-&-miss.
4. Any statement from the seller is taken to be absolutely correct, even after you have proved it to be total load of rubbish and provided stacks of clear supporting evidence.
I ordered a "10 inch" keyboard. The "8 inch" one I received was (obviously) not the one I ordered. It was also faulty with a large manufacturing bulge fault on the back which caused it to spin around when trying to type, AND the escape key did not work.
IT WAS TOTALLY USELESS.
I requested a FULL refund of $14.54 which included the money I also wasted on postage.
After appealing weeks of plain stupidity and standard delays I got a refund of $5.82 which was outrageous and unacceptable, but VERY final.
AliExpress had already offered me a refund of $12.38 which I had rejected, on principle, because I wanted a FULL refund, including postage, because IT WAS TOTALLY USELESS.
The moral to this sadly typical story is to take a statistical approach:
If the items you order are a third of the local price and you only receive half of them in working order, you're ahead of the game.
SO, if you start by expecting to receive a wrong, misrepresented, or faulty item, (or no item at all) you may survive (and find yourself trying to retain your sanity by writing negative reviews like this one).

Purchased an Aqara smoke detector which constantly disconnects from a genuine Aqara Hub gen2. I have many other sensors connected to the hub which have never disconnected. I supplied lots of logs to show how many times the detector disconnects. I supplied a video to show the position of the hub to the sensor. Aliexpress sided with the seller and refused my return request. They never offered any sort of solution so I'm stuck with a faulty smoke detector which is untrustworthy.
Absolutely rubbish customer service so have deleted my account. I will also delete my Lazada account in Thailand as its owned by the same company.
I got a reply when I left a review on Trustpilot but it was just standard saying I had deleted my account so they couldn't contact me. Well if they had read my review they would see I told them I had done that.

I placed an order for an AV receiver on AliExpress on April 5. The item was listed as "shipped from the US," but this turned out to be false. The next day, the seller uploaded a USPS tracking number that only showed "label created" with no actual shipment. Days later, AliExpress support told me the item was actually coming from China, not the US as advertised, thus there was a delay -- but that's not true based on the later development. Then, things got worse. On April 14, the seller changed the tracking number to one that showed a USPS package delivered on April 10 — but that package wasn't addressed to me. It was just something delivered to someone else in my city. AliExpress (and USPS tracking visible to buyers) only shows the city, not the full address, which the seller exploited to fake a successful delivery. I obtained proof from USPS, including the actual shipping slip, showing that package went to a different address. I submitted this as part of a dispute with AliExpress. Still, on April 16, they emailed me saying I needed to prove the package was lost. I explained the package was never mine — it was delivered to someone else. Despite this, AliExpress closed the dispute in the seller's favor on April 18, because I couldn't "prove" a package that wasn't mine got lost. Thankfully, I had used PayPal to pay. I filed a dispute there, and although AliExpress initially provided the misleading tracking info, I spoke to PayPal agents who requested proof of delivery to my address, which AliExpress could not provide. PayPal ultimately refunded me. Throughout this process, AliExpress customer service was useless — they repeated the same lines about "escalating" while the dispute team (which I had no access to) made unreasonable demands. AliExpress not only failed to stop a fraudulent seller, but actively enabled them by ignoring clear evidence and hiding behind flawed dispute policies. If you're thinking of buying anything valuable from AliExpress — don't. Their protections are unreliable, and in my case, they sided with a scammer using USPS loopholes to fake delivery.

AliExpress has proven to be one of the most dishonest and misleading online marketplaces I've ever encountered. Their product listings are designed to deceive: attractive photos, exaggerated descriptions, and false promises like "Free Returns" are just bait to lure in buyers. What you receive is often a cheap, fragile, low-quality version that looks nothing like what was advertised. Worse, trying to return the item is like being trapped in a never-ending loop of excuses. Even when a product is clearly listed with "Free Return," there's no actual option to return it. You'll be forced to submit evidence, wait for vague decisions, and if you're "lucky," you might be allowed to return the item—but at your own expense and back to China. After that, you still have to wait and hope they "approve" your refund. They control the whole process, and it feels rigged in their favor. There's no such thing as customer rights on AliExpress—the platform always sides with the seller. This is how they're making money: by misleading customers, blocking refunds, and avoiding responsibility. Recently, I ordered door locks with handles that looked premium and solid in the listing. When they arrived, they were cheap junk—not even worth a single penny. I contacted AliExpress support immediately, only to be stonewalled. Despite the listing showing "Free Return," there was no option to return the item. Their support was useless, and they flatly refused to help. I'm sharing this to warn others: be extremely cautious when ordering anything from AliExpress, especially if you think you might need to return it. If the product turns out to be a scam or not as described, don't waste your time arguing with AliExpress. Instead, go directly to your bank or card issuer and file a chargeback dispute. It's the only way to protect yourself and get your money back without jumping through hoops or losing more money.

Purchased 2 smartphones that were supposed to work with US carriers. They did not. Contacted seller but seller was argumentative. So I initiated return thru Aliexpress platform. They provided prepaid return label. Aliexpress refunded only 1 phone, refused to refund 2nd phone. Tracking confirms delivered. Returned both phones in same packaging (as they were originally shipped). Even after several reconsiderations, they still refuse to refund full purchase price. Now trying to resolve thru Paypal and my credit card company, but Aliexpress is trying to oppose. This company is absolutely criminal.

Answer: I purchased 3 pair of van's brand shoes via different companies on aliexppress and all were true to size. The off brands are not, so you need larger than you wear. But, ask and ali will usually provide a size comparison chart for you to use.
Answer: No customer service. Some sellers are dishonest. No way to recoup your money for items never sent. Bogus tracking information since no custom number unavailable. Sellers asking for your your PayPal account to make a refund when they are suppose tp use Alipay. Clean up dishonest sellers like co-co fashion store. I have ordered tother items thru Aliexpress without a problem but you should get rid of the bad ones. I am reluctant to use Aliexpress again after this bad experience.

Answer: Do not buy from aliexpress the quality is terrible and lots of sellers never send the items. Also they sell counterfeit designs too which is illegal to purchase.
