I asked a rep on the phone with Affirm about logging in to my account (who was speaking some foreign language)
I then asked about a product to finance and I was not sure about the product, so I said I will call back at a later time.
30 minutes later I get a email from Affirm they ran my credit report with zero authorization.
I called them right after and they had no idea what I was talking about. RUN FROM THIS COMPANY

I recently received a text message indicating an attractive price for a product I was searching for. The text came from a fraudulent source but used Affirm for loan application and payment. None of this was clear at the time of the sale.
When the product was not delivered and inquiries made, the site I thought I was buying from had no record of the sale, and therefore, no product would be forthcoming.
My complaint to Affirm was why did they pay a fraudulent site. Doesn't their security know the difference between a legitimate source and a scammer? When I told this to Affirm all they kept asking me for was correspondence from the order site acknowledging the order. The site used by the scam artist had no order, so I couldn't send anything. When I told them that, they still insisted there policies do not cover fraud like this, so I had to pay because they had to recover their payment.
They are bogus and should not be trusted. They do not have adequate security to protect themselves and are leaving everything up to the consumer to verify and manage.
I will never use them again under any circumstances.

Customer service is trash

I had fraudulent activity done on my account and contacted affirm several times over a month, talked to 20 different reps/supervisors to get this removed and resolved and they still sided with the merchant stating that I had to pay affirm for a loan I never authorized payment for. Once I received the resolution I contacted affirm again stating I never made a reservation with this merchant and the activity was fraudulent they told me I shouldn't have disputed the charge but I should have contacted their securities team. THERE IS NO NUMBER FOR THE SECURITIES TEAM ANYWHERE ON THE SITE. So I didn't know there was another Avenue to take but neither did the 20 different representatives. Needless to say they are still actively looking into my case but won't close the loan even though there has been fraudulent activity reported…that compromises me, my information and well being! I will be reporting this!

I purchased a piece of furniture through affirm 9 months ago. I was waiting on the order to be shopped and cancelled the order through the vendor as I had already found another piece that I liked and would take less time to ship.
I contacted affirm and this store multiple times to process a refund. Both refused and I waited until the order arrived so I could return it (which arrived 8 months after ordering). The order gets here and I process a return through USPS and contact the store and affirm so they are updated.
I waited 2 weeks after processing a return to contact the store and see if I could get a refund. They could not process it as the card that affirm gave was void. I contacted affirm through email and phone where they hung up on me multiple times with one representative finally answering and saying that they could not help, so I transferred the refund to my bank account instead. Affirm made my payments have a high interest rate after I tried to return my order and I am still making payments on an item I had returned. If the store hadn't helped me, I never would have gotten my money back.

The affirm staff seemed nice in the beginning. I was asked to provide my website for final approval. A few days later I was told my site was not approved. I wrote and asked 'why' and asked to speak with a manager. I simply wrote the representative, letting her know I am a black woman in this industry and all my competitors have affirm. I was unsure why I was not eligible for an affirm business account. I said it would help potential customers be able to afford my luxury furniture. The representative read my email, but she never responded. A week later, I reached back out and created a new ticket. A representative wrote saying they reviewed the file and they provided me with the 'eligibility information'. I met all the eligibility requirements and even offered to provide the names of competitors with affirm business accounts. No response. I went to Klarna's site and I was approved in 10 minutes. It was not meant for me to have an affirm business account. I just want other potential affirm customers to know my experience. A simple valid response or call from a manager would have been sufficient.

Horrible Company

From what I can tell this is mostly just a means to steal your information. They are worthless as far as loans, nothing short of a Loan Shark, and they likely sell your personal information. STAY AWAY FROM THIS FRAUD!

Not HAPPY AT ALL!

Just recently paid off my affirm account. Was back at credit limit of 1700.00. Decided to use the affirm card to make purchases for coffee and sweets on my way back from dialysis. Went to the store this morning to get coffee, tried to use my affirm card, amt declined. Tried to use the tap and pay with affirm on my phone, amt still declined. I thought it was my pin number, so when I got home, checked my account online and change the pin number just in case that was the problem. Then I went to check my available credit limit for the day, the amount said 0.00! How is this possible?! I just paid this account off in full two weeks ago--all caught up. Contacted affirm customer service, rep could not tell me why my available credit limit was sitting at 0.00-- when he confirmed that my account was paid in full! I burned the card! I'm not going to be stuck somewhere thinking that I could use this affirm card as an emergency backup or to get a cup of coffee, and the card gets declined due to lack of available credit. This is Just a rip off! DONE with this company...FOR REAL! 12/26/2023

I traditionally used Affirm for Christmas shopping on Walmart's website yearly. I always paid on time until the balance was zero.
Then I needed to update my phone number after moving. They kept telling me the old number I provided didn't match their records therefore I could not be processed. Evidently, they had the wrong number on file and I had the responsibility of guessing what that number was. Unbelievable. They had me do so many submissions etc only to have the end results be the same.
When I complained to management, who also was no help, they told me to use different info, whatever that means. Clearly I'm wrongfully blacklisted all because of a phone number update. It's just plain stupid to have a phone number be more important as a verification than a social, address, copy of my DL license, etc. The stupidity is unreal, they lie, and will say they'll send emails to you that never arrive that are suppose to contribute to solving the issue.
How many customers have been wrongfully blacklisted over such trivial things?
AND of course Walmart was no help either. They only use Affirm and no other similar such companies. Well, thank goodness the U.S.A. has so many more options.
I'll be reporting them to other agencies as well now that I've given it thought. BBB, Atty general, the bank that operates/funds them etc. I'm just so annoyed all over again anytime I think of it.

Affirm is an extremely dishonest company. If everything goes well with your transaction you will probably be ok. If something goes wrong, however, thru no fault of your own Affirm becomes a company that makes NO effort to solve your problem. I in seven months have never received the product I purchased. Affirm won't assist me with the two other companies involved in this mess. They literally won't dial a number and discuss this situation with another financial company to determine where missing money is located. What they will do is manipulate you into making monthly payments for a product that was never delivered. They will tell you what to do regarding placing chargeback discrepancies and then telling you it is in your best interest to end it. It sounds confusing because it is confusing. The easy part, however, it that Affirm will not help you. Affirm will help themselves. Look on any site and they have a terrible reputation. They will also threaten your credit score, which is funny and ironic, because I have a very high credit score... and they do not. AVOID AFFIRM AT ALL COSTS and do your business with someone else.

I have Returned an item 45 day ago forwarding the acknowledgment from the company to AFFIRM. I have contacted AFFIRM questioning WHY I'm still paying for an item I have returned over ONE MONTH AGO. They continue to tell me they are investigating the problem even after I have forwarded the acknowledgment from the company that they have received my return. This is unacceptable business. Warning do not due business with this scamming company

I got a simple loan on Amazon from your company, and within a month or so, I made a lot of payments, I'm ahead about four or five months, and the loans are almost paid for, I never get any emails, or anything towards my credit report, from your company, do you actually report, some of the $#*!tiest companies in the country I actually still report to your credit history when you pay them..

On December 11th 2021 I made a purchase with capelot apparel apparel. I didn't receive my item until until February 11th 2022. I spent $328 total. I placed a complaint with AFFIRM in January because I didn't receive my item. Capelot apparel then sent my item and I received half of my items on February 11th. The items were 3 pieces clothing that have been washed and used I then complaint again to AFFIRM. No response back from AFFIRM just automated message. I then asked AFFIRM to please refund me the whole amount total purchased for all my items which was $328. A firm had told me that they are working on the dispute the dispute and that I would hear something something 30 days from now. It is now May 11th 2022. 6 months later while my case is in dispute with AFFIRM they sent me to collections. Not only did I lose $328. AFFIRM ALSO MESSED UP MY CREDIT IN THE MIDDLE OF A HOME PURCHASE.

I tried to order a Samsung phone through Affirm and was approved. The order was placed but Samsung cancelled the order the same day stating that they didn't have the product on hand. I called Affirm today to check the status of my refund and was told that Samsung is still processing it. I called Samsung and was told that they cancelled the order and refunded the funds back to Affirm. I called Affirm back and they told me once again that Samsung is processing the order. They basically giving me the run around because they don't want to refund my money. Asked for a superior and was told non were available. How can a order still be processing when it was cancelled? These people are horrible and I will never do business with them again and I warn you all to do the same. I already got my new phone through my carrier without any hassles. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH AFFIRM UNLESS YOU WANT TO LOSE YOUR MONEY! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!

Before using Affirm, be sure to understand credit scoring ramifications. Affirm discloses installment account activity (opening of accounts and payments) "could" be reported to credit agencies. However, the company doesn't reveal just how much credit scoring is impacted. I purchased items via Amazon and didn't want to pay by debit or credit card. I opened two Affirm installment accounts for a total of $415. Once Affirm reported the installment accounts to the credit reporting agencies, my score dropped 27 points. Yes, you read correctly -- 27 POINTS. I would've been better off paying for the purchases by credit card, which would've caused perhaps a 2- to 4-point hit to my score. I've worked for years to pay off bills and achieve a "very good" credit rating. However, because I opened Affirm installment accounts, my rating took a substantial hit -- FOR $415. For those who wish to use Affirm, I'd advise establishing a low-dollar installment plan, preferably below $100, or, better yet, just simply use a debit card or a credit card.

I DID NOT TAKE OUT A 2000 LOAN WITH THEM. I WAS SPOOFED. THEY SAID THEY HAD TO INVESTIGATE IT, AND THAT WOULD TAKE ABOUT 90 DAYS TO DO SO. YOU CANNOT SPEAK WITH ANYONE THERE ABOUT YOUR PROBLEM EXCEPT THE OVERSEAS AGENTS THEY HAVE THAT JUST READ FROM SCRIPTS AND FORWARDS YOUR PROBLEMS TO ANOTHER DEPARTMENT THAT WILL ONLY COMMUNICATE WITH YOU THROUGH EMAILS. HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF A COMPANY CALLED "REFUSED" THAT IS WHERE THE MONEY WENT. THIS IS JUST RIDICULUS. I HAVE ALWAYS FOUGHT HARD TO KEEP A GOOD CREDIT RATING WHICH I HAVE AND IF I NEEDED A LOAN IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN WITH AFFIRM AND THEIR HIGH INTEREST RATES.
