I have had nothing but terrible service from this company. I called in for help and spoke to 8 different people and still have this problem. NEVER AGAIN will I use their service
Why we go thru this same problems with sensor at home. Bad enough deal with rudeness of people that work for ADT security company, especially customer service. How hard is it to take information? How hard is it to set appointment? Does not matter how many times explain your situation customer service. What you need get done. Give all information too why ask again again. Feels like really don't listen at all. Why? But Some people need get fire from jobs. You don't like your job then find another job that your happy with and let other people get hired that do better job than you. Customer service tell you they don't mail there sensor they mail which they do. Make someone feel that we are lying about that sensor been mailed to house since it's virtual appointment by technician. Really upsetting go thru so much nosense why? I work nights and most hate is alarm system that goes off when trying get rest before I go work. Nothing knock of sensor of alarm for it to go off. Because a Five sensor issues for no reason at all to go off one after they other after they other. Miss another days at work. Because this happening to many times now. Already 1 year and six months and. Same old thing this system Doesn't work properly. Do I recommended ADT security company "NO" we had patient enough deal with nosense time after time but now NO! Would I renew my contract "NO" Yes I am really upset and mad thru this nonsense again. ADT security company not same what it use to be back then. This is short story what we been thru... I've had the system for 1yr I've had issues with the cameras. I've had issues with the system. They always want to try to trouble shoot over the phone. My system not work properly in a month due to being out town they wanted to trouble shoot 1st. Guess what it ended them having to come out anyway. I would had more benefit taking the money I spent on this system and whipping my $#*! with it. On top that I've been broke in 2x with the system. Secure I think not!
They are a scam. They trick you into contracts that you never agree to. Had us "sign for the cameras" they were sending us it ended up being another contract! After we were trying to get out of the contract we already had. They are not to be trusted at all. Don't use ADT
Do yourself a favor and don't utilize ADT for your security system. My experience has been awful. Calling ADT for anything other than "Sales", is impossible. The "Sales" division is readily available. Any other department is impossible to reach. Often times, their phone system will disconnect when you're being transferred and their web-site doesn't function properly. Stay away!
Horrible experience. Arrived at 8pm, offered a "1 time deal" that we had to decide before they left. Did not want to let us discuss our budget privately, finally we convinced them to give us 24 hrs (VERY sketchy sales approach). Scheduled possible install, were promised no charges until AFTER work was done. We canceled the work (expensive, saw reviews about their customer service and hidden fees, etc). We were charged $109 for service even though we never received any products and no technicians ever arrived at our house. The charge was made the day the service had been originally scheduled for. Had to have my bank advocate for me to get rid of the charges. Very uncomfortable now with all the private info they gathered, considering how they used my credit card info. Will never deal with this company again. They want to walk around the inside of my home, install items, and have 24/7 surveillance, yet they can't handle my credit card info properly? No thanks.
After hearing on fox news, 2/18/22, that we could be subject to cyber attack in U.S., and also no burglar alarm working after next Wed. 2/23/2020 if have 3G, must have 5G, etc., I called ADT to get clarification... spoke with Ashley... went on and on about upgrade, etc., kept asking for me to give her some time, lengthy call, then put me on hold after saying forgot where she was with conversation... then cut me off... never called me back, nor emailed me any info... she had asked me for my email add. During conversation... took forever to even get to her to begin with... wasn't going to start over, no time... this occurred yesterday morning, maybe ADT will go back and review the call... never before have I had service such as that.
Despite having cancelled on the phone previously, no record of cancellation could be found so a balance continued to grow. After getting cut off and then enduring a long hold time, cancelled service AGAIN and paid balance for services in a home no one lives in.

Trouble from the start with ADT. "Subcontractor" only wanted to install the minimum window/door sensors. I was to have up to15, he only installed 5 doors, said the motion sensors would catch anything else. Suffered through my contract, cancelled in Oct. 2021. ADT said they owed me refund. They never sent me the refund. A different, story or excuse when I call customer service. The second time I called asking about my refund (which they say I am due) they sent me a check in December with the pay to the order of: ADT Security Services with my address. They made the check out to themselves so the bank would not cash it. I have called every month since October 2021 and still no valid check. Last week customer service and complained again they said I needed to send my request to *******@ADT.com get my refund. I haven' heard a thing from them. I want my refund of $111.66 now!
I cannot overemphasize how unethical and shady this company is. Not only is their service expensive to set up (we paid close to $3000 for everything), but once you stop paying them $60 per month the system doesn't even work - and the $250/piece cameras are useless. It was insanely difficult to cancel our contract (we got out of it when moving out), and we get harassed constantly by their sales agents mailing us, showing up at our door - even at the door of our NEW HOME. Not to mention the terrible customer service by phone - don't count on getting ANY help if you have issues with this incredibly overpriced system. And we had steam from a shower turn off our smoke detectors, I told the ADT dispatcher when they called that their was no fire, but somehow ADT called the fire department anyway. I was back in the shower home alone, could not hear the firemen and my fence was broken down as they attempted to get into my house. ADT did nothing. Completely unresponsive and uncaring about their customers. AVOID at all costs, learn from those of us who suffered through this criminal company with its negligent services.
When we bought our house, the former owner had ADT. ADT said they could transfer the system to us, but when it came time to do that, ADT said the system was outdated and they couldn't (even though the system WAS CURRENTLY in use with the old owner). Then ADT said they could sell us a new system, but not now because they weren't doing that due to covid. Bunch of rotten rats trying to squeeze the consumer. I hear their customer service is about on par with all of this.
I have been on hold currently for over 3 hours. Not to mention the numerous other days I have called and waited on jold for over 2 hours. I have been trying to cancel my security service for over a month. Paid balance and they are still withdrawing money from my account. I call and call and am transfered 3 an 4 times then told they will call me back. Every time I call to speak to the person I spoke to last time they are nor available so of course the process starts all over again so I will never use this company again and I strongly suggest no one else to use them.
When I decided to use ADT security services I thought I was getting a good company. I sure was fooled right from the very beginning. The 1st service technician showed up only got part way into the service and told me he had to leave for a bigger job. That made me feel like I was not good enough. They sent another technician who completed the job. Problem is shortly after she left our home several monitors fell off windows and door. I called to ask for help since we where a new customer! Well the answering service said we would have to pay them to send out a new technician. I told them we're a new customer and they said it doesn't matter. So I tried to do my best with double sided tape. When my contract time was about over I called the complained to complain. A service manager or PR person was sent out to my house. I showed them there sloppy work and what I had been told. They said I received poor service and treatment and wanted to offer big discounts. Oh that was after their prices more then doubled during my contract time. Very, very poorly run and managed company!
ADT salesman came to my door when I first bought a house and convinced me to sign up. The tech came out and spent all his time trying to upsell me and was here for like two hours spending most the time on upsales. He handed me the tablet and said this is the contract for three years with these devices sign here, blah blah blah. Fast forward three months and a strong wind storm blew in a window and set off the alarm, which I learned I could not hear while upstairs. The police came as promised but without a doorbell were unable to reach me. I then received a ticket in the mail for failure to obtain an alarm permit. I had NO idea that was even a thing, let alone that one was even needed. I called ADT and they said that informing me of the Permit is not their responsibility. I told them I wanted to cancel and they sent me to the sub company that apparently is the one that my services are through. They told me that I should have received an email notifying me of the permit. I searched my inbox and there was only a sales receipt from them. I never received it. They were trying to figure out if they could credit me the ticket or waive the cancellation fee and promised to call me back. Never got a call. So I called the next day and talked to a super fake "chipper" manager. Who said that there is also a line in the electronic contract that says there may be a requirement to get an alarm permit based on the municipality. So that clears them of being in the wrong. I asked why o don't have a copy of the electronic contract and they coups not answer but sent me a copy after we ended the call. Unbelievable experience. They lost a customer because of bad sales and technicians over $187 ticket that was not my fault. Do not recommend them, there are better agencies and systems out there.
The technician that originally came and installed the system took our outlet out of the wall and it won't go back in after years of trying to resolve this issue ADT has still charged me every month even though they are very aware of the issue and that my system hasn't even been able to be plugged in. I'm constantly getting the run around with this company
Their system breaks all the time, u ll need a technician to repair the issue, cuz they can't charge u for the service as u it's included in your monthly bill 65$, they ll charge u "trip charge" 60$ for MA residents. Totally ridiculous company and I can't wait to be done with them.
I ll make sure to spread the word so that others won't fall for their fraud sales pitch.
Was promised that if I move to a new location where ADT doesn't have service in I'll get a full refund. Absolute BS. When push come to shove they completely shook off of their promises and said that I will have to: "pay off the remaining of the contract" and "pay off the equipment in full". Claimed they wont reuse the equipment even if I returned it (I don't believe that). This company is absolute sham. Running business practices from the 90's. Why do we still have these shade non-cancelable contracts allowed anymore? $#*! these guys.
Very poor business like I said sent me a router that did not work the 1st time got a second router same thing got 2 cameras oh cameras oh you have to take the batteries out to charge them the things that I stuck on the doors and windows which I clean the surfaces fell off and they charge me for something that I don't even have working I tried to get out of the contract and the guy got very rude with me and says well I can charge you the $1000 why am I being charged for anything when you've sent me bad equipment I will be calling the Better Business Bureau because I do not want any of this stuff
Answer: Difficult to reach them and even more difficult to reach someone who can assist accurately. A lot of billing hassles.
Answer: No $60 call out service charge anytime there are any issues including dying batteries.
