Locks you in a one year plan
March 8, 2021

Shutterstock and other stock companies are far more reasonable than adobe.
Adobe locks you in a one year plan. Be very careful when signing up.

I mistakenly sign up for this service and let trial period ended. I tried to cancel it when I realised I have been charged (second month), and I thought this was it and it was cancelled. But it didn't! At fourth month I have already paid 150€ for this service that I have not used and they want to charge 120€ more to cancel it! INSANE! Moreover... I cannot even delete my credit card. What kind of customer service is this?

ADOBE STOCK SCAM
February 8, 2021

I wish I had googled Adobe Stock before falling for their offer of a "FREE" trial. It is a SCAM, they do not make it clear that you are bound to a year contract. You get stuck paying monthly for a service that is NOT worth it, if you try to cancel there's a huge cancellation fee. I feel scammed and disgusted by this business practice. I talked to customer service only to be more nervous about it. DON'T FALL for it.

For a website that was presumably designed by designers, for designers - the UX is diabolical. They need to do some serious user focus groups. I HATE that every image ever saved to a library shows up in my CC libraries in-app. It's messy, clunky and totally inaccessible. Why they linked stock libraries with CC libraries I'll never understand. I wish I could turn it off. I want my CC libraries for assets I've built or use regularly - I don't want to repeatedly see the 5 versions of a red car I considered for a project 3 months ago. And it's not like it's easy to organise or clear out your library folders - deleting or moving ONE saved image creates so much lag. The website is so damn slow. The site constantly goes down, meaning there are times (always when you're on a deadline!) when you can't download your licensed image or you discover that half of the 50 images you selected actually didn't save. We have a huge subscription for my work team and I know it's expensive. If I had my way, we'd just use Shutterstock. Oh, and one last thing - it's really difficult to troubleshoot issues because 'library' can mean a multitude of things in Adobe! Grrr. Rant over :D

Adobe Stock images is a complete scam site -- they offer a 30 day trial and will keep charging you after you log on and go through their purposely hard cancellation process.

When you find the charge on your card, and contact them, they bait and switch the conversation: "How can we make you stay?" When you say you cancelled already - they tag on an additional $60 "early cancellation fee."

If they do this to you - use their chat. Demand they cancel without the fee and then reverse any charges. Make sure when you do cancel - that you get a cancellation email. Else, screen shot it.

I had the same story as many others here. Missed a payment, and Adobe took all my credits -- credits I'd already paid for. Who knows a lawyer who is willing to file a class action lawsuit? These are deceitful business practices, and the reason consumer protections exist. Adobe will never get another dollar from me.

Scam and Crap
October 11, 2020

Disgusting business practices, and using the trust people have for the Adobe Brand to fleece cash like a street rat would do. Shady.

The free trial traps you in a 1 year long contract that you can't cancel without insane cancellation fees.

When you do cancel, even if you stick for the whole year but don't renew, you lose credits you haven't used and access to licensed images, if you don't have them saved elsewhere.

If the above wasn't bad enough, the amount of good quality images is so low that you will spend ridiculous amounts of time browsing through crap (and slow, slow, servers) just to get a good one.

A 100% unbeatable terrible experience.
Stay away.

I signed up with Adobe Stock a little over a month ago. I did the trial that they offer. Somewhere in their terms and conditions they hide that you will be committing to a YEARLY subscription when the trial is finished. So make sure to cancel before the trial ends if you decide to go for it. I ended up not needing to continue the service and so I went to cancel. As soon as I clicked cancel I see a big ol "You will be charged an early termination fee of $59.97". "What?! What is this all about? I never signed up for a yearly plan. I'm supposed to be on a monthly." After maneuvering my way through their chat system I finally get on with an actual person. For about 40 minutes this person was trying to negotiate and argue with me to stay. I get that it's part of their job, but to an extent. Long story shorter I turned down their offer"s" and the agent became very rude and also said I was still on the hook to pay the $60 cancellation fee. I told them that I never knowingly signed up for a yearly commitment. You guys never sent me any emails or anything letting me know the situation. I said I shouldn't have to pay that fee and that it would be bad business when obviously it wasn't clear in the trial promotion that you are locked into a yearly commitment if you go past the trial. I said I know that you can waive it so please do because I am basing my reviews off of this interaction. Sure enough the chat person waived the fee and then basically just ended the chat. No "Happy to help" or "Have a nice day". All they said was "It's waived. You will receive an email to confirm" and then they just ended the chat. I will never do business with Adobe Stock ever again. I thought that businesses would have figured it out by now that the customer is always right. If you give the customer the W (win) today then in the long run it's good for business and you may even get that customer back at some point. Interactions like the one I just had though, I will never be back.

You are actually signing up for annual monthly fee of $30 and they will charge for cancellation. IT IS A SCAM. DO NOT FALL FOR IT. Try another (better) cheaper, fair, site.

Absolute Ripoff
August 23, 2020

I pay more than enough for my Adobe CC, considering their business model is to force you to pay for apps you don't need. On top of that you have to pay to use templates in apps like InDesign through Adobe Stock. Absolutely shocking. I cannot wait for my Adobe subscription to end so I can use products that don't take the mick.

It took me an hour to get a refund for my unused assets and cancel my account. The messaging is really slow, I'm sure it's part of their strategy to wear you down so you accept their offers. They sent me two pitches to stay even though I was cleared I no longer needed the service. I got their attention by letting them know I planned to give Adobe Stock a seriously negative review. I'm particularly disappointed as I was with Adobe HQ for 5.5 years and during that time these manipulative practices would never have been supported. There are many other good stock sites, choose one of them

DO NOT purchase their plan. They make it nearly impossible to cancel without going through about six hoops and THEN they still charge you another $60 to cancel your per monthly subscription.

Available licenses
May 18, 2020

I had payed for 6 months/40 assets a month and costomer service assured me that after cancelation i can still use my available licenses to download images till i finish all licenses. Well, my last payment was 2019 July 09. I was downloading images till 2020 January and then i still had 190 images left. Now i log in and i see that i don't have any available licenses left. And costomer suport are acting like stupid robots. In 2 days comunicating with them all they can say is: "You have cancelled your plan hence you do not have any licenses available." THIEVES

Adobe Stock has some of the best images available, and the website is easy to use. HOWEVER, be aware that once you sign up for a plan, they charge an exorbitant cancellation fee--double the monthly charge for the basic plan of #29.99/month.

AVOID
April 12, 2020

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID
Bought an image which had confusing license terms. Found it was in proprietary AI format, downloaded the "free" trial of Adobe illustrator and had to provide credit card details. Got locked in because the manage your free trial is set to "You'll be able to manage your plan shortly" and you can't cancel the trial or prevent your payments being taken. This is clearly to make you forget about it so you have money taken after the 7 day period.

Stay away from adobe until they improve their ethical standing. The big issues is that if you decide not to renew your subscription they will cancel all remain credits. In other words you are most likely to be not using the pictures you pay for in the last few months or you will be downloading stuff you don't need before the contract ends. Just as gyms make their money from people that don't go after the first month, Adobe makes their money from people that don't use images regularly. They are most likely going to convince you to do a second year to try and keep your first years images. In short they are not going to let you keep what you purchased. Everything is in the fine print, they are well protected. It is not a customer friendly organization. We need to stop giving these people money to send a clear message to do business ethically. You are better off going to other sites.
