Car never got towed
February 7, 2022

My fiance and I have been waiting 15 hours for a tow on our car that has a flat tire. Ended up getting a ride home and the car is still where it was! Kept promising us a certain time and never picked up the car! Very poor service! I will probably never call them again unless my father is working. We where stranded in the highway until some guy with a tow truck brought us to a gas station. $#*! you AAA!

I've been a AAA customer for over 10 years and am extremely disappointed with my recent experience. Another AAA insured driver rear-ended me on 12/12/22 while I was at a full stop and my AAA adjuster told me that I might be held responsible. What the heck?! Additionally, it has been over 4 weeks and I am still in limbo with the uncertainty of $1,000 deductible (and possible point on my record) and my adjuster will not return my calls or emails - apparently she has been on vacation for over 2 weeks. Glad she's relaxing while I'm freaking out... I will be dropping them immediately if this does not end well. Don't waste your time with AAA, they have seriously gone downhill.
Sincerely,
Your once loyal customer

My husband waited for more that 2 hours under florida sun 98 degrees, not acceptable. They said they don't have enough trucks. We pay every year and never used it, and we need it doesn't work. Very disappointing.
Update, AAA never come, I had to go and help my husband, AAA lied, they said the town truck was there, but it wasn't, he wait for 4 hrs.

I got stuck with car needing to be towed. They said it's gonna be 90 minutes. Then 2 hours. Then 3 hours. Then stopped responding. I ended up getting a private towing at the end of the day. Really not sure how are they still in business.

I had gotten off of work. Ran into Walmart came out car wouldn't start so I called AAA. The Phoenix location had a very rude customer service agent, and the wait was Six hours.so I had to call another towing company and pay out 201$ plus the 100$ for the AAA service.if AAA team members would just be honest I could have saved 100$.Honestly there should be no reason for it to take six hours to get a tow back to your home but you live you learn and I've really learned just not so use their services.

Disappointed recently
December 31, 2015

My husband and I have been long term members of AAA Roadside services. We haven't needed the service for many years until recently. We needed a tow to a repair shop, and we were given a timeline of 90 minutes. After two hours passed, we called back, and were told all times were approximate and it would be another two hours. This was a beautiful sunny day, no bad weather to deal with or anything. Very, very disappointed.

I have been a member for over 17 years. Now they only want you to request your tow online. If you speak to someone. They keep you on hold if you call back. Over 45 min. Terrible service now.

My car got stuck in the snow and I called AAA to pull me out. I have been a customer for 7 years. They told me that l was at the bottom of the queue as they didn't consider me a priority. That was 2 days ago and my car is still stuck in the snow. My son got seriously ill and to be admitted to the hospital and I had to call an ambulance to get him there! Do not waste your money on AAA. Find someone that will actually show up.

Dont Worry... Be Happy!
September 6, 2016

I have been a member with this org. From day one! At the age of 15; having to pay for my first vehicle and AAA coverage. Now, twenty five years later and a Commercial Pilot, still maintain the policy with insurance. Having to recall the number of unexpected and adverse weather conditions for towing, battery replacement and other services are well worth the Price!

Been members for years. When any member of the family has a flat, fender-bender or needs a tow they show up quickly and ready to help. Saves us a ton of money as cars age. Also enjoy the many, many discounts.

I have been a loyal member of AAA for the past 14 years and have seen their services decline sharply. Today I required a tow only to realize you can't speak to an actual person. All communication is conducted through texting and automated voice messages. It took this pathetic company 2 hours to inform me that I was in the queue and more information would follow. That never happened! I was forced to take action and resolve the situation on my own. Thank goodness I'm resourceful and mechanically inclined. I was able to get myself back on the road without the assistance of AAA in about 4 hours.

This company is not to be trusted or relied upon! If I could assign a negative number to this review, I would. Needless to say, I'm canceling my membership and will seek a competent company who respects and responds to its clientele with "real people" when they're in most need. Do yourself a favor and put in the hard work and research as I plan to do in search of a firm who provides exceptional customer service during the most dangerous and dire circumstances. Goodbye AAA, bankruptcy awaits you!

I use AAA for car insurance and their emergency roadside assistance program. Both have been good. I luckily haven't had to make any claims yet on my insurance, but their rate was 40% lower than Geico. And it was also a lot cheaper than Farmers and the other major insurers. Also, their roadside assistance program is pretty good. I've needed to be towed once and jumped one other time over the last 5 years, but it has been worth it I think because of the cost of the towing and the inconvenience of having someone else jump your car (there were no other people around at the time). I also used it once to help a friend who had locked herself out of her car. In terms of customer service, I've had very good experiences with helpful and friendly reps who have tried to help me save money and navigate the AAA system. Overall, I've found AAA to very good company to work with.

Needed a tow.
September 20, 2023

Where do I even begin? I have been a AAA member for years never had to use their services until yesterday. My husband's truck would not start. We called AAA at 2:30 in the afternoon for a tow at 6:30. No one showed up so my husband called AAA again to be told that it would be another three hours for a tow company to get out there to the vehicle. Needless to say, we told them to forget about it and ended up calling our own towing company. They promise you the world just to get customers so they can make money. My husband had to walk 7 miles for a towing company because he had no service on his cell phone. Not to mention my husband has heart problems. This was our first call to AAA and definitely our last call. I highly suggest you not even spending the money. You will wait around for hours if not days for somebody to get out there to rescue you.

Unethical company. AAA tech JH took my battery still under warranty, would not leave me my property that was legally mine with core charge, it was escalated and the management or supervisor Bob who handled the situation belligerently and never followed through on what he promised, hassled the dealership who was dealing with car, and never got back to me as AAA said he would on the BBB complaint I filed. From start to finish it was abysmal service. The tow truck driver was great. I've been a member over 20 years, will not review as the last two years service has suffered greatly.

AAA used to be a great service. Now you pay for it and receive nothing. They won't drop a car at your house if you have a dirt or gravel driveway. They won't travel on a dirt road regardless of it is county maintained or not. They will leave you sitting on the side of the road for hours before they decide If your address is acceptable. Rude customer service and terrible policies. Save you $ and get road side assistance from your insurance.

Excellent!
November 25, 2018

Knowing I have AAA gives me peace of mind that if I ever need them, they'll be there so quickly and do their work so efficiently. The day after Thanksgiving I tried starting my car and the battery was dead. I went on the website and filled out the battery service request. Less than 30 mins later, a technician came and tested the battery. I purchased a new battery right on the spot and he installed it and took away my old battery. Took all about 10 minutes and I was back on the road. Every driver should have AAA!

Dead Battery
November 12, 2021

The battery in my Honda Accord has gone flat three times recently. Twice, people saw me with the hood up, and came with jumper cables to get the car started and on the road. One kind helper, a woman, laughed when I said I had tried to get the AAA on the phone. She said I'd be lucky if they came in two hours, and I told her that the automated response kept asking me where I was. I had said "Springfield" and she said "I don't understand." Then the whole call faded out. Anyway, the battery failed again last night and since it's under a three-year AAA warranty, I asked for a replacement. Nothing doing: the tech said the battery was fine and that I should buy my own battery. So the only solution when I go into a store to shop is to leave the engine running -- that way I know I will get home before ten o'clock in the evening.

Just spent 3 hours in the blazing heat waiting for a tow that was promised in 20 minutes and then another 30 minutes and then another 20 minutes etc. until I had waited 3 hours during the hottest part of the day and ended up with a formidable headache. I have been a member since 1997 and rarely ever needed their service but felt it was worth having for peace of mind. After all these years of trusting they would have my back it is disappointing to say that I was dead wrong for trusting in AAA.

Let me start by saying I have been a member for 30+ years. Service levels and customer service have gone way down. It is NOT what it used to be!
Many times in recent years we had to wait multiple hours when we needed to use the service.
Our most recent experience, which was yesterday. We waited over 4 hours for a tow truck and this was in Daytona, not a remote location. There is NO reason to have to wait that long given the amount of money that we pay AAA every year and do not use the services that often. Buyer beware there are so many better less costly options out there.
