Just spent 3 hours in the blazing heat waiting for a tow that was promised in 20 minutes and then another 30 minutes and then another 20 minutes etc. until I had waited 3 hours during the hottest part of the day and ended up with a formidable headache. I have been a member since 1997 and rarely ever needed their service but felt it was worth having for peace of mind. After all these years of trusting they would have my back it is disappointing to say that I was dead wrong for trusting in AAA.

Let me start by saying I have been a member for 30+ years. Service levels and customer service have gone way down. It is NOT what it used to be!
Many times in recent years we had to wait multiple hours when we needed to use the service.
Our most recent experience, which was yesterday. We waited over 4 hours for a tow truck and this was in Daytona, not a remote location. There is NO reason to have to wait that long given the amount of money that we pay AAA every year and do not use the services that often. Buyer beware there are so many better less costly options out there.

They left me stranded on the side of the highway for 8 hours continuously telling me a driver would be on the way. My initial call was at 8:45pm. I called them every 2 hours for updates and was repeatedly told a tow was in the way. 3:30am I finally get a call back from the dispatcher telling me the 1 and only available tow truck driver refuses to comeout and that I need to find a ride home and to leave my keys in the car. So I find my own way home because their 24 hour roadside assistance is a complete lie. Then after being promised that 1 and only driver would tow my car at 8 am he finally got to it at 10:30. I don't know how it's legal for them to advertise 24 hour roadside assistance as I was completely ignored when I needed assistance for 13 of the 24 hours they supposedly operate. After a complaint to the BBB they wouldn't even refund me the price of my full membership. Very unfortunate to be a member of AAA for multiple years and the 1 time I need actual assistance I get told find my own way home we will get to you when it's a good time for our tow truck driver to do so be it the 13 hours later it doesn't matter to them. Never renewing my membership and highly recommend nobody become a new member.

AAA left a 24 year old girl stranded on the highway 11:30 pm. Called and after an outrageous wait on hold was told 5:30 the next morning is soonest someone can help her. She ended up having to get a tow company and paying out of pocket. AAA gets 3 membership fees. When we call for service they don't show up. Basically stealing from members and not providing the service customers pay for. Explains 1.2 star rating with BBB.

Along with warranties, new warranties, some credit card coverages, ad infinitum! Triple AAA was the first place to go before taking any trip when I was free and 17; and it still is for me at 49, happily married, with a great son! Its a free resource, and they can provide a lot of security for very few if any $. Give em a try on your next road trip! I know you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Trying to get AAA to come get my vehicle here in Florida was a far more worse experience than getting a root canal... I waited on first call 3.5 hrs & then only to be told the vender has cancelled my tow! (yes AAA does not have there own trucks) they sublet to cheap vendors that sometimes take the call, but most not! & then dispatch could not find anyone to pick up my car on a wed at 6pm & was advised to get my own company. Wth why do I pay $168 a year for gold premium service when I can't even get bronze crappy service... dont waste anymore $$$ on AAA anything pay the $16 premium with your auto Ins policy and go through your car policy.

I went there to get a starter put in, my car sat there for 3 days and they did absolutely nothing but kept giving me the run around with no intentions of ever even looking at my vehicle. They told me Tuesday it was 3 cars ahead of me. I called them back on Thursday and they said it's 4 cars in front of mine which is insane. The service is horrible and they're liars. The AAA tow was terrible too, The driver killed my battery. I told him I had a bad starter. He turned the key and put it in neutral and left the car on and my battery drained and died. So I told AAA I don't want service from them now or ever and to tow my car to another place cause I don't have time for games

I needed assistance to get my car towed to the dealership. Upon doing so, the employee towed it incorrectly and ended up damaging the clutch. This costs me $1500 out of pocket after insurance with the rental fee and the mechanic. I have tried for THREE months now to get somebody to reimburse me, my insurance has tried multiple times to get in touch with someone and no one has been helpful. You would expect AAA to know what they are doing and not damage your vehicle, OR if they did, to assume responsibility and handle the charges. It has been so very frustrating, to AAA $1500 is pennies, for me… it's a lot of money. Somebody fix this now.

Horrible
August 27, 2022

Horrible. They used to be so good. NOT NOW! I've been with them 42 years. I'm canceling my membership. Trying to get a live person on the phone is challenging. Then, they don't show up as promised. I was told a tow would arrive 1 hour after my call. When they didn't show, I called and was told it would be another 45 minutes. Imagine if your wife, son or daughter was stuck on the side of the freeway. You cannot count on AAA.

I have been paying for AAA road service for 50 years. I just got a letter of non-renewal. They are canceling me for using the full amount of benefits I'm entitled to under my Premiere membership and for which I paid.

AAA Towing office does not take responsibility for their drivers doing damage to people's cars especially seniors, by refusing to pay a claim and not telling member they close claim. Just because I have older car is why they refuse to fix cause of cost. My car had no damage before this, so they should pay for repairs they caused regardless of how old the car is. I've been a member for 40 yrs and this is how they want to treat their seniors. I'm looking for new company & taking AAA towing to court. People shouldn't have to go thru this. Driver of truck that did the damage shouldn't be driving putting clients vehicles at risk.

Been a member for over 20+ years. In 2021 I called AAA at 10:30 a.m. to tow my car that broke down in a dangerous spot. Called several times for updates. Each time 2-4 more hours. At 10:45 P.M. now they called to tell me, "we are still trying to find you a tow truck! What the hell, 12 hr and no service. I called a truck myself and car was home in 35 min. Same thing happened to my girlfriend. Car broke down. Called about 2. Tow truck never showed up. Few months later her grandson (on her acct) called AAA with assistance with a stuck car. AAA refused to assist. AAA can no longer provide what they claim. DO NOT BUY AAA.

Love AAA
January 10, 2016

We've been AAA members for over 20 yrs and wouldn't be without it. We used it last night at our favorite restaurant and always receive 10% discount so that alone pays for the yearly charge. When we got to our Az house in Phoenix in Nov. My wife's stored Toyota Highlander was a little hard starting and within a few days it wouldn't turn over. I called AAA and their man arrived and before towing checked out the 7 yr old original battery and showed me that was our problem. I asked where I could have a battery installed and to my surprise AAA has a traveling van service that installs a new one right in our garage, He arrived in 20 mins and had the car fixed and a printout showing before and after charging results and a very reasonable price. We were totally impressed and our new battery has a 3 yr free replacement! Gotta love great service!

After 18 years of being a AAA member. I was ousted by AAA. No reason, no notice, no email, no mail. I only discovered this after making a call today (October 29,2022) asking about my membership bill that I normally pay each September (I had not received the bill). According to the CSR@ AAA, there was nothing I could do to resolve this discontinuation of membership. I barely use my AAA membership card, I also pay for my Daughters membership to protect her and my Grandchildren. This is quite the slap in the face after having the comfort of their service for almost 20 years. I've always bragged about AAA, being a single parent, and now Grandparent. AAA you could be more respectable to long time customers. Expect more posts about this disgrace and leaving me and my Family basically abandoned without the peace of mind you've provided in past years. Loyal member since 2002, it reads on the card. Despicable.

I paid $120 and they never towed my car
August 18, 2023

I upgraded my membership so I could be towed more than 5 miles. On the phone triple a told me that they would temporarily park it in their parking lot, and deliver it to where it needs to be once the membership officially upgrades (already paid the $125). Triple A towed my car to their parking lot instead of my destination- now they refuse to tow my car since it's in their parking lot, where their attendant parked my car. When my membership officially kicked in, I ordered a tow. Triple A lied to me. They previously said they would tow it when the membership kicks in- they didn't tell me that they could not tow the car from their own parking lot. Despite the employees lying time and time again to my face, they still will not tow my car as promised. My car window was also broken while parked in the triple a parking lot The company has a bad ethics problem.

My husband waited patiently for close to a month for his truck to be fixed. 3 faulty batteries later, he finally realized that the mechanics did not have a clue. He asked for his money back for the battery, and that's when the so-called interim manager, very young, inexperienced employee couldn't handle the situation and refused to help us. A couple thousand dollars later, we're going to speak to an attorney. They won't even call us back. They won't admit that they couldn't fix the truck, when it's obvious. Rude, childish, ignorant employee making fun of me as I walked out. Disrespectful to me personally.

Waste of Money!
November 9, 2023

Terrible experience in settling a claim. They don't do anything. I, Myself need to do everything for them to start working on my case. From getting the police report to contacting different insurance for some updates. How to resolve my case. The Representative is rude and inconsiderate about how i feel. All they care is to get money, but when the time comes that i need help, they dont do anything. Waste of money. I feel like im not insured at all. Like im paying for nothing!

" Supposedly 24/7 "
July 26, 2021

They just call it 24/7 because they think putting someone on the phone line paying them probably $10 an hour helps people! I am there calling for help and the actual road assistance team doesn't even work at 6 am and I have been told to wait for 2.30 hours for them to call me... Can someone define "24/7" for me? Placing a person as a customer service provider doesnt mean anything to me if that person is not able to send help. Very bad service quality Triple A! I do not recommend this company to anybody. They do not deliver anything thats promised. NEVER make your plans according to Triple A.
