Back in December 2014, I wrote a pretty negative review, based on my experiences with Zulily at that time. I actually dis-engaged from the company and didn't order anything for a couple of years. But, in all fairness, I've since been back for over a year and have placed numerous orders, and I've been overall very happy with the products & service.
I still think you need to be very careful of their published dimensions, sizes, etc.--be sure to check out the item elsewhere before you order. You also might see a lower price elsewhere, but I didn't find that to be the case too often. Finally, it really helps to know the brand before you order, or do some research and read reviews on other sites. I now feel they deserve a 4-star rating. Happy Shopping!
Here's another shopper who wishes she had found this site before ordering from Zulily. I've ordered from them 8 times and have had issues with 4 of the orders--that's a 50% failure rate.
Two orders received were way off in size, I received someone else's order on another (with their name & address on the shipping invoice), and the 4th error was due to incorrect dimensions shown on the website.
Count me out as well.
First order and sizes, quality, and fit of garments were very poor. (XS w/ a 36" waist, sleeves too tight to fit [& I weigh 100 lbs], fabric so thin I'd be afraid to wear it.) Spoke w/ customer service (which was friendly btw), could only get a store credit even though I was so hesitant about placing another order with them (but our fault for not reading the return policy). Placed a second order, was supposed to arrive by a set date, 3 weeks later and still hasn't arrived. If you don't mind the wait and know the brand's quality & fit, you can find good deals, but I won't be placing another order.
My fault. 1st ordered a pair of "ugg-type" boots that were like cardboard without the fake fuzz (not fur) inside. Took 2 months. The following year 2014-I bought 2 pair of boots for my 4 yr old grand daughter. I went by the size chart. 1 pair 2 sizes too small, the other would fit a newborn baby. The return policy just forces you to get more of their Asian sized junk. Never get your money back in equal value. I ended up trashing it And taking the loss. Their commercials are great but that's where your money goes. Not in the quality of their items.
First off, the reason for so many returns is that the merchandise is inconsistent with pictures, sizing and quality as described on the website. Then, if you're even fortunate enough to be able to return items, which is rare, then they will not credit your account unless you stay on top of them, which can take months. I think they count on people forgetting or losing interest.
Update - I returned my orders ($72 worth) via USPS, and Zulily will not credit my account stating they never received it, because I didn't use their prepaid label. SCAM people!
I will not order from Zulily again... why pay shipping cost when it clearly won't be shipped out as its advertised. I ordered a pair of boots Sept 19, they still haven't shipped. Do not waste your time!
Pretty cool site with tons of cute clothes for our girls. We really never experienced the issues that some have posted here. Considering the pricing, we don't expect the packages next day and really can't remember anything taking a lot more time then claimed.
Every day -- a new selection of things you might not even know you needed. Household items, clothing, seasonal fare, pet needs -- it's all there on Zulily. It's like opening a door to wonderland each time you look. And they stand by their merchandise as well. That's huge. Zulily is the most anticipated part of my morning routine. Who doesn't enjoy a chance to shop? There might be a real surprise waiting for me!
Do not order from these guys - worse shipping experience, 3 orders, well past the 30 day mark and no sign of the orders. Since these items are seasonal (halloween) - and I ordered in mid-sept. One would assume that they understand the urgency behind WHY to ship in a timely fashion. They will offer you a (semi-useless) $10 credit when you complain... blah -
I'm done with them
I have ordered many items from the sales on Zulily. I always compare their prices whenever it's possible to find the same item for sale elsewhere, just to verify that I'm getting a good deal. Lately a lot of the sales are for merchandise sold by QVC, as the same parent company owns both companies. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I check both sites to compare prices. I have found lots of unique items on Zulily and I like the fact that they offer PayPal as a payment option. My only complaint is that I try not to purchase anything fragile, because I've had at least three orders show up broken inside the package due to poor attention being paid to adequately wrap and/or cushion the fragile items inside the shipping box. Customer service has been great when this happened, refunding my money immediately or replacing the item if it was still available.
I am a regular shopper on this site. You have to watch the prices and item descriptions but overall great stuff at good prices. Their return policy could be better, but it is comparable to other online shopping sites - I usually just try to get all of my purchases before doing a return to bundle them if necessary. They have interesting items I don't find in store near me.
This company is very hit or miss on what they offer. As a plus-size woman, I like the prices, but so many of their tops are see-through and don't look that way in the photos. I've been ordering for several months from them and have donated at least half my items to the thrift store. Only order brands you recognize from them. I suspect a lot of their items are cheap Chinese goods.
I have been ordering clothing from Zulily for a number of years and have been happy with my items - no surprises in style, size or quality. I always get compliments and people asking me where I buy my clothes - especially my tunic tops. I have found some really flattering and unique pieces. I was very surprised by the number of bad reviews and experiences, which prompted me to write my own review. True, delivery can take awhile depending on the item but this is not hidden - the expected delivery date is there and you can track your order online and there are no surprises. I am fine with the wait because I am buying something I can't find elsewhere. I have never had to contact customer support and have recommended Zulily many times. I am wearing a soft summer cardigan I bought from them today - fun pattern, super soft material and unique layered-cuffed sleeves... I have never seen another top like it. :)
I'm so happy I discovered Zulily before the holiday season. Great selection of products at a great price. Keep in mind that delivery is normally a week longer then other online store. But it's worth the extra days.
Love the prices! You will have a bit of a wait getting your order though. I have had in the past two items arrive damaged. No problem... one phone call and done! People there are always polite and very helpful! Like any place know what your buying... read everything.
The selection is a whole lot of everything. Fun to shop for my family, myself, whatever I want for the house, garden and pets. And MORE. The seasonal items are amazing, many by independent artists. I'd much rather shop online than to hit the crowded stores. Zulily guarantees you will be happy with almost everything you buy. If something arrives broken (rare), or not quite right (also rare), they go out of their way to replace it and/or give you a refund or credit. I like pinning to Pinterest, and it's a good way to earn an occasional $15 in Zulily credit. Love that!
Zulily is my FAVORITE place to shop! They have a wonderful variety of things at great prices and offer excellent and prompt customer service on eligible returns and correspondence. They also offer a payment plan. Occasionally an item doesn't work out but more often than not, I've gotten things from Zulily that have become favorites. 1 suggestion would be that they consider offering gift receipts as I frequently buy gifts from them but would feel better giving a gift receipt along with the gifts. Lower shipping fees on purchases and returns (especially for frequent/loyal shoppers) would be great too but their overall product supply and service makes the current prices well worth it. Highly recommend!
I have shopped at Zulily for many years and it's always fun to see familiar brands at lower prices as well as little known and unique brands.
Shipping time varies but I don't mind the wait most times. I have purchased jewelry, clothing, groceries, shoes, household decor, etc. Returns were handled promptly with a refund or store credit..
I occasionally find good deals on Zulily, but it definitely isn't my favorite flash sale site. It's frustrating to browse because there is no way to sort items by price (low to high or high to low). There also isn't a purchase threshold for free shipping (although, once you place an order and pay for shipping, everything else you buy in the same day ships free after that). Shipping can take a really long time, too, so it's hard to order anything as a gift. I also won't buy any wooden items from here anymore because the two times that I did, they shipped out without any protective padding inside, so both items arrived cracked.
I've made several purchases from here... I can tell you this, the clothing sizes and fit are mostly different from the size chart. Some of the clothes were poor quality and or had holes in them. I never returned anything always figured out ways to either use it or pass it along to someone who can.
Prices vary on things, I can find a lot of these items at home goods/tj maxx. Do your research.
Smart pay is a plus and enticing.
Been shopping at Zulily for about 3 years, and for the most part my purchases have been fabulous. Never fail to get a compliment on a pair of rain boots at the dog park, a unique swimsuit at the pool, something different workout outfit at the gym and never do I worry someone will be wear the dress. Clothes are unusual, and priced great. Customer Service excellent- helpful with questions, and credit lost, stolen packages. Cons: shipping costs is a bummer, as well as returns. Just recently zulily started adding customer reviews, which are helpful with fit and sizing, as well quality of garments. But still only able to find a few reviews. Often delivery time seems like forever.
Answer: Zulily has awesome customer service! I have nothing bad to say about them! Definitely worth ordering from them... I have been happy every time (& I use it a lot!)
Answer: I have never ordered shoes from them but I agree that they likely vary according to brand. Contrary to other comments (that I am very suspicious of...) I have never waited a long time and the quality has always been as shown. There are so many rip-off sites out there and I suspect some hire people to post phony negative reviews on the 'good' sites. I do not recommend searching for cheaper products - you'll end up on a bogus, cheap site. I now research every site name and sift through comments - its exhausting but has saved me from spending money on sites that were not good.
Answer: Got money to burn? Order from Zulily. There isn't enough room on the Internet to list all the reasons you should NOT order from them!
Answer: Nope... no returns accept and good luck on getting a refund. Stay away from this site.
Answer: It could be a week or it could be 3 months. But my advice would be not to order at all. The sizes are never right (a small may fit someone that wears a large or it may be too small for an infant) and the quality sucks (the fabric on a dress I bought is so thin you can see through 4 layers). STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!
Answer: Wrong size, no return policy. Beware don't order from them
Answer: Sorry I don't know the answer, but it could explain why everything is so cheap
Answer: Yes, it may take that long, but they are up front about that on the item description page. I have never had a problem with them.
Answer: Let me just put this out there. The people who bought things from Zulily (and are unhappy with their purchases), probably didn't research the brand before they bought it. Think of Zulily like Marshalls or TJMaxx. That's what Zulily is, in online form. I just bought a hoodie from them, and researched the brand before I bought it. The particular hoodie was being discontinued, so they were selling it very cheaply. I bought it, and it is the real deal, originally $89. So research the brand. And don't expect your purchase quickly. They wait until they have enough orders to bulk purchase (another reason why their prices are low), before they buy. So it'll be a few weeks before you get it. I hope this helps.
Answer: If you bought them from Zulily, you might see about making your granddaughters feet smaller. I'm sure that's easier than dealing with Zulily.
Zulily has a rating of 2.3 stars from 4,526 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Zulily most frequently mention store credit, return policy and poor quality. Zulily ranks 9th among Daily Deals sites.
