The company's reputation is significantly marred by widespread customer dissatisfaction, primarily concerning its review management practices and aggressive advertising tactics. Many users express frustration over hidden reviews, perceived extortion for advertising, and a lack of genuine customer support. Positive aspects are scarce, with some customers appreciating the platform's potential for connecting with local businesses. However, the overwhelming sentiment reveals a distrust in the company's ethics and practices, leading to calls for accountability and transparency. Overall, the feedback indicates a critical need for Yelp to address these serious concerns to rebuild trust among its users.

Excellent service! The Owner and Staff are friendly, professional, and up front. Shawn my point of contact provided me with exceptional service and walk me through the process and later status until it was completed!
Discussing rip-off I have a towing business and I needed extra extra advertisement so I called Yelp and then course they just told the hell out of it but I got people calling me but I'd ask the people text me their address so I can go pick up the car wherever they're at and never got anything never ever in 6 months any people kept taking money out of my account money out of my account finally I found out that they had a different phone number online they didn't have my own phone number and they didn't give me back any money they didn't apologize for anything they just told me that they had that signed the contract and I needed to pay and I already paid $4,000 in 6 months these people are scuzzball okay they knew what they're doing cuz I told him I want my phone number on there and it wasn't on there ever I thought it was out of all the customers that called me only had one called me back and said hey how come you didn't come pick up my car I said well you texted did you text me the address he said yeah I texted you yesterday that's how I found out it was a totally wrong number they had on there they didn't do anything about it they just ripped me off any business that uses Yelp I don't go into their stinking filthy place my name is Pat from Nichols Towing in Phoenix Arizona
Extremely pushy and disrespectful sales people. TERRIBLE ROI on their services BOTH TIMES I finally gave in to the harassment and tried them. You gotta just hang up the phone because they will never take no for an answer. They've also hidden more of my reviews than they have published and claim to have no power to change that.
Don't sign up for any of Yelps services. They promise things they don't deliver and then charge you through the nose. STAY AWAY!
I want to warn others against using Yelp Business. Biggest scam artists
/bait & switch con around!
Yelp is a total joke, pay them or else! They call small business constantly to try and sell them advertisement, yelp is nothing more than an angies list aka: pay for sales leads
From the start a terrible experience don't start an account you will regret it! Mind you I'm at 5 stars with over 100 online reviews. Yelp will misrepresent your business with fake reviews and not publish the legitimate reviews your clients leave unless you or your client are actively paying them monthly. Your account is rigged so that you can't ever delete it. Techincal support will treat you like trash on the phone. They'll charge you hundreds of dollars without your consent than it will take months to be refunded. I'm here from a year of terrible experience. I was warned away and should have taken the advice. Stay away from Yelp or you will regret it!
I don't usually write reviews, but I do want to warn businesses away from using Yelp, especially smaller businesses that rely on Yelp for leads. They hide information like phone number leads and positive reviews even though we're paying roughly $1000/month for ads. To even get our phone number updated, I played phone tag with 4 different representatives and they still haven't changed our number. Each representative I spoke with either ghosted my email or hung up on me halfway through me asking questions. I'm honestly so surprised that they're still in business with this kind of "customer success" support. You're better off with Facebook and Google ads - those have yielded almost 5x more leads at a fraction of the price and there's no hidden fees or complicated process to go through. We're definitely pulling all of our ads moving forward.
100%SCAMMERS. STAY AWAY FROM YELP. HOPE IT WILL. E A MASSIVE LAWSUIT FROM BUSINESS OWNERS!
ATTORNEYS MUST DO SOMETHING A ABOUT IT. PLEASE HELP BUSINESS OWNERS COMPENSATE THEIR LOSSES DUE TO YELP WAY OF DOING THEIR BUSINESS
I bought a Derek Jeter baseball from this company. They stated that the baseball will pass a PSA/DNA testing to assure authenticity of signature 100%. It didn't and I asked for the cost of the testing to be reimbursed. They didn't reimburse me and just stopped communicating with me. The ball was a FRAUD! Please be sure when dealing with this company and the seller of the ball was Katie wade Her listing on EBay is JSK10 do not buy from her!
While Yelp has gathered a marvelous collection of business reviews, their app hides reviews of their own Yelp business. Why? Maybe its because most of them are from pissed-off advertisers like myself. I tried their pay-per-click scheme, which cost me hundreds of dollars, and brought me ZERO paying customers. Yelp refused to honor the $400 credit that my Yelp sales rep offered to get me to try Yelp advertising in the first place.
If a Yelp salesman entices you with: "Don't you think if somebody clicks on your ad, that they will probably buy your service?" -- Remember my testimony and tell them, "I would be a fool to think that."
Tried Yelp ads. They produced almost nothing but junk leads. The leads are forced to watch their yelp account for a message back from you, so you'll quickly find they will never respond, even if you reply within 60 seconds. I suspect they have a call center creating fake leads to 'justify' that the ads are working. For more than $700 I received less than 20 'leads', of which only one ever responded back to me with any valuable response, and which never committed to anything of value. After cancelling my ads, I find that I have been billed for 'locations', meaning they kept billing me for upgrades to my account, in spite of the fact that with all ads cancelled, my entire yelp account should have been cancelled. This exemplifies this company's lack of ethics and willingness to defraud by debiting customer accounts at will. If you disbelieve, just contact me and I will provide dated screen shots of my account, the billings and proof of billing after cancellation, as well as the info for all 'leads' provided to me.
I only signed up for 2 days and was def not satisfied and charged $20 per click, which was def not explained correctly to me (I thought it was way less per click). So I got charged $62.67 for 2 days before it was cancelled. They suck and I got no calls at all. This is more a scam than anything - they don't explain things correctly - leading you to believe you might be charged nothing sometimes. It seems like the clicks are bull$#*! - if someone actually clicked on your ad they would probably call, but nothing. The sales rep is a liar - saying it's a great service and he'd sell it to his own family member. Bull$#*!! Don't waste your money.
Horrible company to work with! So much for $300 in free ads to start. (Their gotcha ad) I signed up on june 16th and cancelled on July 17th and was charged 802.68 for NOTHING! Zero business for 802.68. I asked for a credit and she would only offer a credit on future ads. DO NOT USE OR BELIEVE ANYTHING THE SALES PERSON IS PUSHING. I was lied to and robbed. What a scam!
If I could give this less than one star I would. They will take your money and run! For a "Directory Service", Yelp is TERRIBLE at its "Customer Success". It doesn't earn the right to even call it that after my experience, and now the experience I'm reading of others. There is no transparency in price, I received a $430 bill, had a Yelp representative ghost me for the call THEY scheduled, then ghost me after I had questions later. I brought this up on two separate calls with Yelp and both times they brushed it under the rug. When I threatened to remove my account completely, they said that users can update information that's public, so basically it wouldn't do any good and that they'd just put the page back up in the event the public wanted to make edits. I told them (and stand by this) that I will NEVER advertise with them again! They do NOT have businesses' interests at heart. The only thing I was offered (which was a complete joke considering the complaint I made was ABOUT advertising) was that they would offer me another $300 toward future advertising. Who in their right mind would do this? It's like they weren't even listening. I also had Key Words mismanaged and they labeled me under a service I don't even provide. The first "Customer Success" rep. I had swept this under the rug and told me that didn't matter. She was quasi argumentative with me even. WOW! Good luck, Yelp! I think that there's a reason Google outperforms you!
Worst customer services and spam company.
Do not trust yelp advertising. They offer $300 free credits to try out their advertising, then they charge you insane amounts per click.
The people that message look fake and are empty leads.
Drove by Community Towing and saw several huge rats racing home to the cars left for years impounded that they live in. Management is nonexistent. Looks like a dead zone of cars. Shameful appearance. What a business neighbor..
Yelp reps make promises and don't provide service. Customer service has one level and "does not have the ability" (their words) to elevate a complaint or concern. Do not do business with Yelp, they are an advertising scam. Customer service keeps you on hold for at least 30 minutes before answering and then blames response time on Covid.
Yelp is a scam, rip off and more. Do not under any circumstances use them for a business to "help" for advertising and getting customers. They stole over $400 from my mom in laws business!
A company who gives you zero control if your business is listed on their page, they remove all good reviews and leave negative ones up tarnishing your reputation online. I do not recommend using yelp as a source of finding businesses. Yelp should be ashamed of themselves and ask how they sleep at night destroying good people's livelihoods.
Answer: Yes, it's true or they go to "not recommended"
Answer: Yelp are crooks, find some where else
Answer: For one of my business they made me pay for their monthly service which I never did, so my positive review was hidden.
Answer: Look somewhere else. As the reviews here show Yelp is notoriously unreliable.
Answer: Yes they erase all reviews they darn well wish to delete. CROOKED YELP!
