Yelp Reviews Summary

The company's reputation is significantly marred by widespread customer dissatisfaction, primarily concerning its review management practices and aggressive advertising tactics. Many users express frustration over hidden reviews, perceived extortion for advertising, and a lack of genuine customer support. Positive aspects are scarce, with some customers appreciating the platform's potential for connecting with local businesses. However, the overwhelming sentiment reveals a distrust in the company's ethics and practices, leading to calls for accountability and transparency. Overall, the feedback indicates a critical need for Yelp to address these serious concerns to rebuild trust among its users.

Guarantee Auto
November 5, 2020

STOP!
Guarantee Auto is the worst,
Had to take a van back two days later because the breaks locked up on the grade with ALL MY FAMILY in it, the dealer was rude to my daughter and had no concern for the SAFETY OF THE FOUR SMALL CHILDREN IN THE VAN, INSTEAD THIS GUY WAS IN HIS OFFICE ORDERING CHINESE FOOD FOR HIS LUNCH,
HE SAID HE WOULD FIX THE VAN
WE DROPPED IT OFF ON THURSDAY
NO PHONE CALL.NO TEXT, NO EMAIL
WHEN MY DAUGHTER FINALLY CALL GUARANTEE AUTO, they said oh ya it almost ready, no word on the van again,
My daughter calls them back and they say 4 pm your van is ready, when we asked for a copy of what was done to the van, they got rude

Yelp is a fraud. Yelp LOVES LOVES LOVES HATE SPEECH AND FOUL, NEGATIVE REVIEWS. The worse the review, the better for YELP. Yelp actually TAKES DOWN POSITIVE REVIEWS and deletes them! We tried it! Worst company out there. Disgusting business practices. NO INTEGRITY. Avoid at all costs. DO NOT TRUST THE SCUM REVIEWERS either. INSECURE LIARS WITH No accountability whatsoever

Extortion by Yelp
November 3, 2020

Our business never agreed to Yelps terms of service and after we popped up on their site with a negative review written by someone supposedly in San Francisco (we are a small clinic in rural Idaho!) we began receiving calls from Yelp to join their plan and they would help us with outreach and managing our reputation. All for a substantial monthly fee, well substantial to us anyway. When we denied them and told them not to continue us calling we received another negative review. Not from any patient we have ever heard of either! Yelp corporate may not endorse this behavior but it is clear they do not monitor their own sales force. Shame on you! One day I hope the Justice Department shuts you down!

I was called by Yelp a week ago, they signed me up over the phone told me it would be on for a week and then turned off so I would not be charged anything. And then I was charged out of nowhere more money than I made in a week. I called and they will not give me my money back. When I ask for a manager to whoever I was talking to on the phone they told me there was nobody above them. All they could do is send me a payment inquiry to fill out and told me I have a 50 50 chance of getting my money back like they flip a coin. I didn't sign anything, and didn't even know how much they charge because I was never told. They just told me they needed my card for verification. Absolutely horrible buisiness. If only I would have looked at these reviews first):

Fake reviews
October 30, 2020

Have had 2 reviews that were not posted with no explanation. Now they say they're going to flag business who have a complaint of alleged 'racism', what are they thinking? Yelp isn't acting in good faith.

This week, I was viewing a podcast for business owners who were very critical of Yelp and this site's business practices. I then looked at our profile on Yelp. We have at least 6 positive reviews that are not appearing about our law practice, which is incorrectly listed as a personal injury firm, which we are not. A client's mother wrote a long bad review that is the only review visibly appearing. The client's mother refused to let us talk to her daughter or follow our instructions for treatment. Instead of dropping the daughter client, we wanted to help the daughter, so we continued through the first hearing but a supplemental hearing was held by the Judge who ordered an evaluation. This is when the mother wrote a libelous review threatening to report us to the bar and get us disbarred if we responded to her review, which we did to protect our business reputation. Other client reviews which are favorable are not visible on Yelp, however. When we just called the contact number for Yelp at *******357, we got a saleperson, who said she has been with the company 10 years. She said that there was no one else we could talk to when I asked for customer service. She said she gets these types of calls all day. We were told to watch an unhelpful video, which we had already watched and that Yelp used algorithms so nothing could be done to make the favorable reviews visible. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Then after you post a review because of Yelp ruining your hard work they delete it in order to protect the same negligent management that hurts their employees future in the field.

Pay to play
October 23, 2020

Yelp removes 5 star reviews that are legitimate. On average after three years in business Yelp will remove 90% of a business positive reviews unless you pay Yelp substantial advertising fees. Poor reviews remain and the reviews are not balanced with accurate percentage of good reviews verses poor reviews. Yelp purges most good reviews and leaves a business with many bad reviews. Not representing the true percentage amount of good customer satisfaction. Media controlling unfair unbalanced reviews.

Price Fixer
October 22, 2020

I called Dori's Air Conditioner first. The technician examined by air condioning unit. He came back with My unit has exploded. The price would be around 3000. 00 for a compressor and $8000. 00 for a new unit. I told him that I was getting a second opinion and I would get back to him. Anthony from Price Fixer was my second opinion. He found nothing wrong with my unit. He found that the breaker was not on. Dori's charged $80.00 for the visit. Price Fixer wouldn't take any money from me. Which company would you use? Linda Fine Indio

Allowing False Reviews
October 19, 2020

Yelp allowed a false review to be posted about my legitimate, successful business. I was rudely told by a Yelp representative that it was the person's "experience". Anyone can have an "experience", whether it is real or not. One can have an "experience" while online or sitting at home watching television. However, to allow someone to post a review that is NOT true concerning one's business is unfounded and condones the act of trying to sabotage a business that regularly exceeds expectations regarding customer service. The person who wrote the review of my business was never a client and continued blocking our parking lot with her car, arguing and yelling at us when asked, politely, to move because they were impeding our clients from safely pulling into and out of our lot, and ultimately had to have the police intervene because the Yelp reviewer told us that "we can not make her move her car". Evidence of the issue (video and screenshots from Facebook) would have been gladly shared with Yelp to remove the review. Yet, Yelp did not want me to submit any evidence of the false reviewer. The review was taunting and relied heavily on provocation so that reviewer could post a discreditable and refutable review. UNACCEPTABLE. It begs to question, "Where is the reviewer's evidence"? In fact, the review goes against Yelp's OWN STANDARDS.
Yelp has seemingly and blatantly taken a stance with the those who wish to lie and post untrue reviews of people's livelihood, their business. I implore Yelp to tell us what kind of people they employ. Are these members of society who wish to bash and not assist businesses that are trying to please their customers and place food on the table? Why go to great lengths to allow a review to be posted about a business that is untrue? Why does Yelp allow the degenerative type of mindset to make false claims and "experiences" regarding businesses without evidence? It is time to call into question the overall practices of Yelp. Yelp's metric for allowing reviews is purposely complicated with no plausible explanation other than to allow false reviews and not allow true reviews of actual clients who have visited one's business establishment. The FTC needs to become heavily involved in Yelp's unscrupulous business practices.

Yelp will alter your reviews so that you can advertise with them. They will have one of their "yelpers" write a negative review and that is the one that they will showcase for your business, then they will contact you and tell you how they can help you remove that negative review. If you don't advertise with them they will only showcase the 1 negative review and will not showcase any of your positive reviews. Pure wicked!

When I added my business name to Yelp I was contacted about a FREE credit for advertising on YELP and walked through how to set it up. I never trust these promos BUT I did because it was YELP. I was WRONG. I was billed over 400 dollars and didn't even know the free never kicked in and was going to charge me. I was also told there would be a follow-up call to review results and that did not happen either. DO NOT TRUST this promo! When I reached out to Yelp they basically said too bad and gave me 100 credit. NOT OK! This is NOT the right time to be scamming small business.

DO NOT TRUST WHAT YOU READ ON YELP! Yelp customer service has failed to respond to my concerns regarding a review on my site with false statements and damaging allegations about matters with which the yelper has no personal experience. They refuse to address the malicious information, and will not allow me to respond to the false accusations. The person making the false claims is a "professional yelper" with over 200 reviews - he gets an award for posting all those reviews, and Yelp does not care whether they are true or not - I guess Yelp gets SEO benefits whether the info is true or false. I repeat - DO NOT TRUST WHAT YOU READ ON YELP!

This WOKE, CANCEL action by YELP represents one more way a fractional part of our society is attempting to apply potentially unprovable biased labels on innocent victims. By it's own declared practice of applying these labels, they are declaring that they will be judge and jury. I hope they get sued into bankruptcy. Which, tragically, will not undo the damage they will have done to unsuspecting upstanding businesses.

Yelp is Anti American
October 12, 2020

The website platform itself is great but the people working at Yelp are the problem. Their agenda is to support criminals and illegal activity, illegal workers, and businesses that support terrorist activities.
