We tried to get a quote to transfer Sterling to another currency in another country. XE said we had entered into a contract and even though we used another company to do the transfer XE bullied us into paying nearly €2300 or face court action.
We never received confirmation of a contract from them although they said they sent but couldn't prove we had received it, though initially they said they could!
We knew they couldn't prove we had received as we hadn't.
They are bullies who use their power to rip off those of us who work hard for the little money we have. In times like these we cannot afford to lose that money.
My opinion. Stay clear and use another transfer company.

Xe Abysmal Customer Service

Made my first transfer with Xe to the Philippines from US. Shortly after I got an email from Xe telling me my account was permanently cancelled. No explanation! No nothing! One star is generous!

Disgusting and very unprofessional. Website shows a rate and they quickly take your money then they start their nonsense with demanding more and more documents. Eventually they start fibbing you off a week later still no transfer and still no refund. Then they demand a large deduction of fees if you cancel. Damned if you cancel and damned if you dont because they will not transfer. Its a scam organisation FCA should close them down i still have not had my refund or my transfer and its over a week. All calls are simply given a standard reply someone will call you back and 4 days later no calls no nothing. DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY!

Transfer fees
August 28, 2019

£55 fees deducted off a £125 transfer. Have you ever heard such nonsense. Could have used any other company and only paid £2.99. They are looking into this and might pay some back as gesture.

I transferred money to funeral expenses and services of my aunt on Nov 14,2019 till today 12/6/2019 Family not get the money yet. The money is holding for the Xe's teams to consider to release the money to the recipient or not. Xe sent e-mail to me "pending authorization" to release the money but never call or SMS to me. I did not check my e-mail therefore the Xe is continuing to hold the money until my family called and told me that "we never receive your money" I called Xe Company. They will under consideration of my request and will notify me by e-mail. Ask for money back. They say "NO". "Please waiting for us to notify you by e-mail" per Xe's rep.
Do NOT USE The Xe Company, they are scarm company.
Want to give NO STAR, unfortunately there is NONE

Trying to open a trade account with XE Trade business account for a Singapore business and I have to say that the experience is very frustrating and that they have been poor communicators, taking days to respond.

This poor service may be due to XE Trade forming a partnership with Western Union and maybe not all XE Trades fault.

"XE.com and Western Union Business Solutions (Singapore) Pte. Ltd (WUBS Singapore) have partnered in order to service customers online in Singapore. XE trade business is the brand name for this service."

XE Trade business require documents to be certified (which is fair enough) but the don't tell you exactly how they need the docs certified thus making multiple trips to a lawyer.

I'd stay away unless you are desperate.

I live abroad, and last summer I was able to transfer money between my bank accounts in two countries using XE. But ever since December, every time I've tried to use XE's app, it's given me a "pending transaction" and told me to wire their parent company the money through my bank so they can send the funds to my other account. This has happened twice now and I've had to contact their unhelpful customer service both times. It happened again after a representative told me my accounts were verified and that I should no longer have a problem with it - so they either lied to me or their system really is that bad.

It used to work very simply, just by sending money through their app, with no extra steps or charges. But now they want me to go make a transaction through my bank - which charges a fee - and which I could've just used to send the money in the first place? If they make you take the additional steps, why even bother using XE at all? Just use your bank! Going through a third party to do the same thing takes even MORE effort for a service that's supposed to make things more "convenient".

After having a help desk staff help us filling out the original form, EVERYTHING WHEN DOWN HILL!
Over 7 days Xe kept asking for more information, which they could have asked for initially.
The HELP DESK did their best but the verification and technical support people kept changing their emails.
They received our money within a day but they say it will take them 10 days to return the money -- really!
Still waiting to get our money back!
The negative reviews of Xe are absolutely true, the industry web pages are not!

If I can rate 0 stars, I will. My account was closed on the 2nd time I tried to send money. I sent the first time $100 as trial. Then the 2nd time, my account got closed. No explanation. I tried to get customer service through chat, still my account remained close. I do not have this problem with Remitly. I only tried XE because they have no service charge. I am going back to Remitly where I have been a customer for 5 years now. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON XE!

HORRIBLE SERVICE

I have used other companies to transfer money in the past. I decided to try XE for their international presence and advertised quick turn around. They advertice 24h transfer. After 3 weeks 11 emails and 4 help centre conversations to nowhere i have decided to cancel it.
- they dont respond the emails;
- help centres dont have access to data for transfers from New Zealand or Australia.

I have spent so many hours with these guys and no resolution has been provided.

My advice: Try other alternatives such as OFX!

CON but not PRO

I used this organisation with confidence, changine Sterling to Euros without problems except for the lack of response from XE when I needed information.
The BIG NO-NO comes when you want to change your EUROS back to STERLING!
It took me multiple messages and weeks for a response to arrive say that they do NOT do currency exchange in the opposite direction. Not a lot of use to me and XE took great care not to let me know that the service was only ONE-WAY.
The result has been a significant monetary loss because of their refusal to reply combined with the rapid change in exchange rates during their deliberate (?) delay time.
Not efficient and unbelievably unhelpful.
Please be aware that this is the Catch 22 with XE.- I had to search for a different and reliable agency with a suitable branch bank in Paris (Barclay with no charges) but it was too late to prevent a 12% loss not to mention collapse of two new house purchase chains.

I had been an XE customer for many years. My debit and transfer banks never changed. Bank accounts never changed. The last time I logged into XE, I was told my bank accounts were not verified, and I would have to go thru a verification process. At some point during this process, something failed, and the bank accounts could not be verified. I called customer service, and the rep told me what to do to fix things. I did as instructed, but I still received a failure message that the bank accounts could not be verified once again. I called again, and was told to try something else. Same result...failure. The next call gave me a rep who said what has happened will be reviewed by their in-house "team." I got no response from them. I tried to log in again, and a message appeared that said the account was closed. I called again and asked why, but the rep said customer service was not authorized to tell me why my XE account was closed. I asked to speak to someone on the "team". I was told that was not possible. I gave up after having wasted many hours with this online XE mess and incompetent customer service.

Something seems badly wrong with this company. Whenever I get a chance, I tell those interested in money transfers to stay away from XE.

"High risk"
April 3, 2019

I opened an account with intentions to move real state funds from US to Europe, before I was able to do y first transaction my account was frozen - 'unable to transfer money' with the label of being 'high risk' - they will not tell me why;
I have good credit and no 'risk' as far as I know - and is irritating to think they migh know something that is 'high risk' which I could take care of - but they keep it away from me... anyways, I was a little reassuring after I read how many bad reviews they already have, figured I add on more!.

Horrific cancellation fees when you haven't even sent your funds to be transferred, you've basically just filled in an online form. Totally immoral. Avoid unless you want to be ripped off.

One of the worst providers that I have ever seen, will definitely not recommend to anyone. XE doesn't have any secure customer verification methods. I tried to make a payment of £1000 with my U.K. Debit card, I tried 7 times, every time I try to make payment it gets cancelled, when I rang them to complaint they said they have some issues with some debit cards payments of £1000 or more. And they have also closed account of two of my friends when they tried to make first transfer, no reason given, nothing.
Customers should be given the information as to why their accounts are closed but this i professional company doesn't even say that.
Another friends of mines payment was received by XE. They kept his money for 10 days and then when she called to complain then she was told it was cancelled and they didn't even bothered to returned her money or even inform her, had she not called them back then she would have never got her money back, very horrible experienced faced by four of us.

XE is Not fit to provides services in U.K.

I lost my money as simple like that. They simply never sent my transfer. And they pretended on trustpilot that they'll refund it BUT IN REAL THEY JUST ASK FOR STUPID DOCS TO AVOID TO DO IT!

JUST RUN AWAY FROM THEM IF YOU NO WANT LOSE

Their customer service definitely needs work, I was told in a very condescending manner that I can't use their service because I don't have GST registered as I'm only a small business and told I can't use XE for payments? And just like that, my account was canceled and I was not offered another solution and whisked out the door. What is with that? I'm off to OFX where my business matters!

Today I sent Can$1000 to india and found that they charge zero fee but when I confirm press the rate is changed and I am ending up looking Rs. 1000.
I decided not to go with this company.

I'm not happy with xe and wont be using it again. It's a shame as I loved the layout before. Now they are constantly changing the layout. The currency chart is much harder to read. I hate it!

Pathetic service- Don't trust
December 29, 2020

I had sent transfer on 19th dec when the rate was high, received email asking to call them to complete transaction. Tried for 4 days on hold for hours and hours and was never successful in reaching an agent. Sent an email stating the same and asking them to call me, but never received a call for 3days. Sent email out to cancel on 28th for which i received the confirmation in 20mins that the transaction is cancelled, but havent received money till today 29th.
