Sent money, did not go through got a text that it will be resolved in 4-6 hours, contacted them in over 6 hours, one of the agents made out that it has been delivers to the receivers account that they should send a copy of their statement as prove that they have not got the money, mean while got to chat to another agent that said that their local partner was experiencing technical problems with there system. After all this never got an apology nothing from them.
I am a new user of WorldRemit. Their FX rates for Kenya schillings are about 103/$, vs Western Union giving only about 94/$. That's 10% more shillings per dollar, a Very Big Deal. MoneyGram closed my account because I was sending too much money! Getting approved on WorldRemit by sending the passport and photo took a day or so. After that, money traveled quickly.
I've used this app for 2 years. I had no problems until the last transaction where they did a security check and suspended my account. I've been emailing and talking to customer support on the phone everyweek. I sent them attachments of everything they wanted to know to authenticate who I was and they denied that as well. Over 2 months of emailing back and forth and my account is permanently closed and I never got a refund. I'd give you one star but my early transactions went through smoothly...
Although my transfer was not handled well and was in "limbo" for much too long, since my review(s) and complaint, WorldRemit did put my case in to the correct hands and they have done everything possible to resolve my issue and make things right. I was contacted by them several times via email and they also tried calling several times but I am out of the country and my SIM card does not allow for my Verizon calls to go through and they expedited my cancellation and returned the monies to my account in 2 days, much faster than the 7 days their policy states. I am very satisfied with how they worked hard to resolve this matter, although I am still not sure if I would use the service again. Do know that if you do have a issue though and let them know of a legitimate complaint/problem, they will work hard to resolve it.
WARNING - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I SENT A $4000 WIRE THEY HAVE STATED THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO PROCESS AND HAVE NOT/DO NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WILL BE RETURNING MY MONEY TO ME! This is completely unbelievable and I will be reporting this company to all possible agencies. I wrote my first review 4 days ago and if I could give them a negative 5 stars, I would. I just want to warn people now. I requested a transfer of $4000 on July 6th. After requesting a lot of verification, copy of my Passport, which I understand and was fine with, there was no communication from them since July 11th, when they said they had sent my funds to their "Partner" who was processing the transaction. Waiting, waiting, waiting... at the end of last week I attempted for 2 days to get their "live chat" feature to work and you click on the box, but there's no chat feature. I am in Guatemala at the moment so calling is difficult and uses up a ton of minutes, especially when you are on hold for over 1 hour. After my phone call with them a "case" was opened where they were going to look in to things. Today I received a email saying that they are unable to process the transfer. Ok, frustrating, but fine. I checked my account and my $4000 was not deposited back so I responded to their email, letting them know the funds had not been redeposited back to me and when could I expect them (my Case #16009461 - Transaction 97965460) and I just received a email back about an hour ago. Here's what these "professional" folks have to say:
"Hi Tiffani,
Thank you for your email.
We did not process any refund yet as your transaction has yet to be canceled. Cancellation is also not possible at the moment as your transaction is currently locked by our local agent. We are still waiting for some updates from them to confirm the cancellation. We will revert back to you as soon as we have an update.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused. We hope to update you shortly."
So, definitely, be aware that this too can happen to you and do not send any large amount - or any amount at all, through this company. I have used Xoom, XE Money Transfer and Remitly frequently and there were times when they were not able to process my request for one reason or another and they have ALWAYS sent a refund immediately since they were unable to perform the request. No one can afford to lose money, I sure can't afford $4000 and it's a payment to my contractor for the building of my home, so this is a huge, huge issue. I have given this company until 7/23 to find my funds and get them back in to my account or I will be taking legal action and also contacting the Better Business Bureau, Federal Trade Commission and anyone else I can report this company to.
BEWARE!
I have been using WorldRemit for over 4 years to regularly send money to family in The Philippines.
The deposit to bank accounts or cash pickups have always been fast and correct.
You obviously have to be 100% correct in the account details but never had any problems.
I use world remit every month and have never had an issue, until now. I did a transfer on the 29th of September using the same reference i use every month and the transfer hasnt been done, theres no online chat and i have tried calling 3 times to speak to a consultant and the wait times are awful.
This really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
They really need an online chat to deal with customer queries.
World remit please contact me to resolve my payment issue and please activate an online chat help function so that your customers can be helped on time.
If my money isnt paid or refunded ill be opening a fraud case.
Recently there was an issue with Mpesa in Kenya and my money was not delivered. I got an email from them notifying of the problem. Anyway they ended up cancelling the transaction and refunded money to my account promptly. I hope to continue using them in the future.
I was deeply impressed with the speed, accuracy, and low cost of this service. I travel a lot and have always struggled with how to give people I meet in other countries funds for things after I have left the country. I have now found the service I plan to use and I highly recommend them to others. If you sign up for the first time, please use the reference code: ROBERTG1329 and you and I both should receive $20 after you send a total of $100 through their system. But, even if you don't use the code, I highly recommend the service!
Customer service is good once speak to a person, issue is when can't, hopefully they employee more people to help with customer service and staff are always polite when can chat to someone
I had a very good experience with worldremit because they people help me to transfer my money to my relative instantly. All you need to call on their toll free number 855-5I5-7III
I sent £100 to my brother in Nigeria, world marked it as received, my brother went to the bank twice but did not get any of the funds realised to him, I contacted world Remit chat about six times but they gave me the same story, now they have closed my case without resolving it. Be aware of this company they will steal your money.
Dear Inhumane Worldremit Company,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a deeply concerning incident that occurred during a recent interaction with WorldRemit's customer service team.
During a phone call with a WorldRemit manager, I was shocked and appalled to hear them explicitly state that they would prioritize following company processes over addressing a genuine emergency situation. Despite my plea for assistance, their response indicated a disturbing disregard for human life and empathy.
As a loyal customer of WorldRemit, I have always appreciated the convenience and efficiency of your services. However, this experience has left me deeply troubled and questioning the values of the company.
I strongly urge WorldRemit to review its customer service protocols and prioritize compassion and flexibility in situations where lives may be at stake. No company should ever prioritize bureaucratic processes over human life and well-being.
I sincerely hope that this incident can be thoroughly investigated and appropriate measures taken to prevent such distressing situations from occurring in the future.
Infuriating Customer.
Worldremit means service failure. They are liars & incompetent.
Their so-called verification process is a joke: they have been messing around for 6 days requesting the same documents (passport & ID) several times. While they were wasting my time, I made a transfer to the Philippines with Remitly & the money was received in less than 15 minutes. Just AVOID worldremit and use
Any other similar company. No-one can be worse than worldremit.
World remit Germany has refused to refund back my money after doing all they asked me including sending them a bank statement.Customer service is very rude, they have hanged up on me several times. What do I do?
Phone World remit couple of time and waited over an hour still no answer. Just wanted to verify why my receiver didn't get the money. Out to their online chat, they disconnected after few minutes. Very bad experience.
I sent a sister yesterday who got stuck because her wallet was stolen. I was supposed to send him $ 500 USA. I provide my identity document. Then they asked for the recipient's ID and then told me they should investigate within 48 hours and release the money. They said there was another person with the same name who had committed fraud, just to screw you up. There is no transparency of their operation not even knowing where they keep this sensitive information that you provide,. You are at their mercy, it is a real trap. I will never use this service again, that's all
The supposedly instant cash transfer for collection is a load of rubbish and trading standards should step in and get this company to pull its pants up,
I sent money to family who are waiting in the place to pick it up 25 miles from where they live and have now closed! Leaving them penniless and stranded,
The 6000 pesos came out of my uk account via debut card instantly and the transaction still has in process! 6 hours now and nothing for a supposedly instant transfer/collection,
Been on the "hotline" number in uk for 1 hour on hold so far, sent a email which of course has not been answered,
Whole damn waste of money and every ones time, stressful, will use western union
I have perfect credit history, cash reserves in the bank, no criminal history, no ties to terrorism, no history of subversive political activism or anything along those lines, and these folks promptly closed my account and refused to give an explanation beyond, "you don't meet our criteria." Really? Why? And why won't you tell me? So ridiculous!
Followup:
And now I am getting notices saying that the transaction is just delayed, but my account is definitely closed, and I don't want this transaction to go through now, because I already sent the funds another way. And it remains to be seen if these folks will ever return the funds from this transaction: Based upon many of the other reviews below, these folks seem quite happy to cancel transactions for no good reason and keep the money.
World Remit practices discriminatory practices when money is being sent to African territories - specifically, Nigeria. They take the money from your account and then puts a freeze on your account. Hold time 25 minuets to get the "transaction verification" on the line - a department who thinks they work for the CIA - asking questions that are not there business. I provided the reason at transaction initiation - I'm not about to prove that's the reason I'm sending $300. They are just as trashy as the new owners of MoneyGram and will never again receive me nor my family members business. I'll continue to pay my personal bank the wire fee to avoid witnessing the excrement of humanity at play. Prejudice imps!
These chiselers misleadingly claimed to only charge me a fee of $1.99 USD for sending $ overseas -- yet they actually charged me many times that amount ($18.51 USD) by taking advantage of me on the exchange rate. Meanwhile, they have the gall to claim that their "core mission has always been to empower economic migrants" -- while their entire business model is built on parasitically siphoning funds from immigrant remittances. Genuinely shameful!
Oh, and they're only reachable by phone. Ignore the outgoing recording's claim that you'll be on hold for "five to ten minutes" -- it'll be at least a half-hour wait. Enjoy that hold music...
Answer: Have they refund your money? Am still waiting for my money to be refund since two weeks now.
