Frustrating, annoying and upsetting experience ever. Worst part, i'm still unable to resolve it.
First, setting up an account was a nightmare, felt like entring area 51. Story short, i wanted to transfer wee amount of $90ish to friend's family in Pakistan. Who passed away while ago. I found his family is going through some tough time. Unfortunately, my transfer did not get through due to their account been closed. I cancelled the transfer and email WorldRemit. They asked me to provide recipient's ID which i provided. Then they asked me for recipient dad's ID. Which i find ridiculous. Now, WorldRemit won't refund and want to review the transaction. Its been one week back and forth by emails, phone calls with long wait and hanging up on me. Pls pls don't use this service. I dont want anyone else to go through what i went through. My good deed has turned into something i'd never expected. Hope this review would help others. Thank you
So I used this site after looking into customer reviews. So far I have had to call them multiple times and wait for hours for a CSR Agent. The agents then say they have made sure all is well with the transfer and when you recheck the corrections later, they have not been made. Then I called yet again and the CSR was singing pop songs into the phone as she assisted my call. She asked for info I had already sent them. I checked the status of the transaction and the details were incorrect even though I had called previously and had them corrected already. She put me on hold and said a team would be emailing me in about 30 minutes. I said the transfer corrections need to be made and they are not, so I am to then email them back? Yes, she says. What in the world is this place? I would use a more well known site if you are sending funds to someone. If you want them to actually get them and in a timely manner that is.
On july 22nd I did 2 transaction of like 45 bucks and failed due to it exceeding the recipients balance limits in his country. (?) Cancelled both and got the confirming automated emails that stated they would refund within 7 working days. Its been almost 2 months and I still havent gotten a refund, cant mail them or contact them in any sort of way. Even the in-app chat support function doesn't work for me.
They have taken my money yet when the recipient tries to collect they turn her away saying nothing is in the system. I Have since spoken with customer services however it's been ongoing for almost two months now! They have wasted so much time for my reciepeint going back and forth to her local branch to be told the same thing when customer services are telling me it's sorted! 5 times she has travelled now during a pandemic as well! No apologies either they don't care about there customers just taking money. Still waiting for a refund 6 weeks later...
I opened an account because they got a high rating from Trustpilot. I got my ID and selfie verified within minutes which was a good thing. However, once I initiated the transfer of funds to my recipient in the Philippines, the status has not changed for several hours. Their website stated that it would only take a few minutes. So if this is an emergency send then use another remittance service. Also, to get in touch with a live agent, good luck with that. Terrible service which makes me wonder how Trustpilot could give this company a 4.5 Star rating out of 5 stars.
A lot of hoops to jump through to get an account including copies of the ID and a selfie, not to mention my credit card info. All so they can close my account the first time I try to use it saying "we may have concerns over security or feel that there's been a breach of our terms and conditions". This happened in seconds, meaning nobody actually reviewed $#*!. Just a broken automated system.

WorldRemit closed my online account for no apparent reason. Their excuse is that their Security system was uncomfortable processing my last transaction. While unable to give me specifics details when and where the last transaction was made. While insisting that I proceed with future transactions in store. The last transaction I know I made was in store. Which means that my online account got closed due to me making an in-store transaction. While they insist, I make any future transaction in store. Unable to provide details for closing my account other than security reasons, no details on what raise the red flag when I sent money to my wife in store using WorldRemit. I'll stop using WorldRemit and I'll recommend Western Union, Wise, PayPal... but never WorldRemit...
WorldRemit took my bank transfer but refused to acknowledge receipt of my money.
After a few days, they cancelled my transaction and cannot be contacted via online chat, email nor phone.
It has been 3 weeks and my money is not yet returned.
WorldRemit is a registered and licensed remittance company in Singapore.
Please google Monetary Authority of Singapore, go to their Contact Us link at the footer and file a report of regulatory breach and misconduct against WorldRemit if you were scammed by them too.
WorldRemit is one of the most incompetent companies I've ever used in remitting money to Ghana.
They will hold up your money for days. If you rely on them, you could lose a love one at the hospital due to your inability to pay up medical bills.
They intentionally hold up your money, invest it for a quick turnover, then give you silly excuses of technical problems.

Worldremit starting cancelling transactions to Pakistan, recently it has cancelled my two transfers and other bad thing is that its holding up money for more than a week after cancelling the transaction.
On contacting them by my clients they said, they are not sending money to risk places, so if such case they should remove Pakistan from the list of sending money there. This is not good to take money for 8 or 10 days of a cancelled transaction, if you cannot send through do not hold the money for nothing may be worldremit is earning interest on that money from mediatory bank, for reference my two clients were from different countries one is from UK other is from USA.
They never respond to e-mails. Hold times to their call center are really long! 15 - 30 minutes! Do not use them! I tried about 20 transactions. I have had many problems, but you will really have a horrible time trying to fix any problems. I was on hold for 45 minutes and then they dropped the call! Even though they verified my cell phone number, they did not call me back after they dropped the call. So... I had to go try to call them again! Another 20 minute wait time!
My daughter is in a foriegn country and needs a lifesaving operation, she is dying as they wait for the money and World remit has done nothing but hide behind policy & procedure and then after the promised time expired they have made promises to solve the issue and not followed thru on none of them
I sent 1500 USD and after 2 weeks, I still do not know where the money is. It says transaction in progress. I am not able contact customer support for several days - no answers on phone calls, no email answers. The service is terrible.
Stay away used to be ok no customer service no email they want you to phone which takes forever and they hang up mid conversation can cost a lot if transaction goes ok fine if they require any evidence then you are infore sleepless nights be warned
Less then a minute after hitting the send button I received this email: "We're sorry to inform you that we've made the decision to cancel your transaction and close your account..." This company is scammer that operates out of Kenya. Do not use this company. If you do, do as I did and immediately have your bank put a stop payment on the transfer.
Please Worldremit can you send back my money to my bank account. I can't wait for this l have a family serious problem that needs money now.
I am very disappointed with Worldremit. They are very $#*!ty service. Transactions are delayed and your recipients will not receive any money. I sent 2 transactions but my recipients never received any money so far in 7 days. Their customer's service keeps lying like oh our local partner says this and that. No satisfactory answer. I will never ever use this $#*!ty service again.
In reference to this company will take your money. Am having the same problem with them. I hope they solve it. They are very polite on the phone as if they are well trained to say whatever. They know my problem and I hope they do solve it. Am hopefully they will solve it. But it's taking forever.
Please DO NOT WASTE your time with World Remit. They Suck! They let me make the transaction and five minutes later informed me that they could not do the traction because of some internal review. When I asked why, they refused to divulge any information. Also, it took them exactly 44 minutes to answer a phone call. Horrible, Terrible company. I will NEVER use them again. Waste of time and effort.
I sent money to pakistan. They have given me offer to earn 20 pounds. But when I tried to redeem that voucher, they disabled my account without any reason. This is just a fraud. They have posted wrong information about 20 pounds voucher.
Answer: Have they refund your money? Am still waiting for my money to be refund since two weeks now.
