Looking at the type of behavior, I don't even feel like contacting customer service as mentioned as I see the whole situation as part of a scam. Today, after they requested all my personal information (including photographs of identification documents), and after verifying my account and collecting the amount from my bank, Worldremit sent me the attached email canceling the transaction and my account without providing a single specific explanation. I believe it's the first time in my life being treated like this. I see absolutely no reason to be involved in issues as I have had no problems whatsoever with any transactions. Unfortunately, I listened to a friend who recommended this service to me because it was more economical. On the other side, I have a very disappointed recipient who was relying on the process and expected the promised amount within the time frame. Now I have no choice but to pray that they actually refund the amount I sent. Please stay away from WorldRemit.
This firm not only tried to withdraw money from our account, but then when we filled out a fraud report and asked where the money was being sent, they can't tell us? They have to protect their customers? They are protecting thieves trying to rob us! Stay far away and report any activity until they are brought down.
I signed up for their service and submitted a transfer to a contract programmer that has worked for me for more than 5 years. Hours later I received an email they were trying to contact. They never tried to contact - lairs! After 45 minutes on the phone I was connected to an Indian I could not understand. The Indian kept questioning me why I didn't know the contractors two middle names in Spanish. I ask them to cancel my account.
The same exact issues someone complained about in 2021 is what I'm experiencing in 2022. And the response they gave the person is what they are giving me. Talking about the transaction is currently locked with our local partner and a refund can't be used right. And they are waiting on them to confirm the cancellation. But I tell you what! They will never try to refund your money. The good reviews is done by the company. They remove their negative comments Cv on twitter and leave only a few enquiries. They are thieves
I had a very bad experience with World Remit. I had used them in the past with good results but today, needed to send money to friends in another country and two transactions went through but two were rejected. Then they closed my account. When I called to complain, I was kept on hold forever and switched to two representatives who talked in circles. One asked me a lot of questions and repeated herself over and over. I was told i didn't meet their criteria but they refused to explain in what way, stating if they explained the criteria, people would quickly find loopholes ( No transparency). Then i got an email stating that my account would remain closed. I am sure there was a misunderstanding but it wasted a lot of my time and caused great inconvenience. Meanwhile I have to wait for the money to return to my account before I can find a better service. I do not recommend World Remit.
With apps like Xoom sending money in 10 minutes, world remit takes days! If you have a sick relative that needs money in Africa (bank to bank) they will die waiting on worldremit. Money should be instantaneous but they keep it to make money off of it for themselves while you loved one is waiting to receive the money. I sent money on Sunday and it is Tuesday and it is still processing! Last time I'm using their service.
My bank account was debited by World Remit for 48.97 euro.I cannot contact them by phone as I need a transaction number or support ticket. There is no e mail or webchat.Their twitter help account is suspended.
I used world remit for the first time to send money exactly a week ago today. Right after I sent the money the sent me an email saying the transaction was canceled and ever since I'm trying to get my money back but everyday is a different excuse. You wait for almost an hour to talk to someone and sometimes they even hang up on you. Stay away they're a big scam!
The problem with world remit is getting worse by the day, you send money it doesn't arrive, you call no one answer your phone. Yet when you want to do another transaction they are ready to take your money, they should close up shop and stop frustrating their clients, it is the lost time I will ever use it
I sent money and they never transferred it. I should have sensed something was wrong when they refused to use a credit card to make the transfer. They deliberately force you to use a bank account so that you can't get your money back. When I called them surprisingly they answered, albeit, after a very long hold. They asked for a bank statement and despite complying with their request they never made the transfer. I also emailed them and exchanged emails with several people but they only use their first name in the email. Beware!
The app leads to deduction of money from the bank account, but transaction does not show up. Customer service is impossible to connect. Waiting time keeps fluctuating. Even chat has waiting time of 20 minutes. No call back option
Very unreliable and poor Customer service. I have two transactions that are still pending for the last couple of months. I have been trying to collect my money back in dollars and it's $3000 or have it transferred to my country's account as initially requested. Their customer service agents are trained to lie to their customers by giving them false hopes. My next best choice is to report them as scammers to the authorities.
They claim they send your money within minutes; however, they never sent it and simply disabled my account. Thankfully I haven't lost any money yet though I am worried they may try to steal from me at a later date. I may consider requesting a new debit card so I don't lose any money. If I see any unauthorized charges, I will need to request a new card ASAP.
I have been using World Remit for 3 years now. Occasionally there has been a delay, but it was always resolved in 24 hours or less. 2 weeks ago I sent a mobile money transfer and to date is still processing. I have called Customer Service about 10 times and they give me the same story but do nothing about it. I dont understand how a technical issue, if that is what it really is, can not be attended to. This type of service is not acceptable as World Remit is playing with people's money which they need for living. As I write this I am on hold with Customer Service once again, though I am not hopeful it will be resolved this time. I would not be surprised if I am following six months from now, even 1 year from now.
After using worldremit for almost 2 years, doing some 200 or more transfers to various countries in West Africa (I work there) they suddenly came to ask me to submit a scan of my passport and tell from every transfer in the past (!) how I know the person (give evidence of it!) and what the transfer was for. Also they wanted to know to who and for what amount I would be doing transfers in the next year. As it was impossible for me to go into detail about 200+ transactions I told them it would take about one week to do that work, so I only provided info on the only person I would be transferring to in future. That was not acceptable for them and the cancelled my account. Totally ridiculous and unreasonable requests for information. Companies who turn away their best customers like this do not deserve to operate.
Had a terrible experience where I tried to transfer 127 dollars and they wanted 6 months bank statements, pay slips, passport and other documents. When I said no they would not give the money back till I forwarded the documents. I put a stop to the payment through my credit card then they sent an email saying they cancelled the transaction. Seems like a scam to me
As mentioned in other sites, incompetent people who are unable to process a transaction and then hold on to your money for weeks, providing no explanation and not responding emails. Two weeks since I cancelled the transaction, and yet I have not received my money back. In the meantime, I transferred the money using TransferWise and the money was in the recipient bank account within 6 HOURS! There is no way to compare! Save yourself time and sanity and just stay away from this company!
Sent an urgent money with Worldremit for a sick relative that needed to go to hospital on November 16,2019. Today is November 23,2019. Worldremit converted my money and has been sending me messages that they had "technical difficulty" sending this money. One of their agents confessed that they don't have a relationship with the recipient bank, yet they presented themselves as capable of transferring the money. That is a worst form of deception. Meanwhile, my relative had to borrow money from others at high rates to be able to go to hospital. As I write this review, Worldremit is still keeping my $434.66. I am looking to get to Court next week to get relief and redress. It's a scam, I would have given ZERO star if I had that option.
Case Number *******
Hi WorldRemit,
You have misunderstood my complaint.
I made it very clear for you.
I am still waiting for my account and ID to be verified.
You state it should take 48 hours.
I am still waiting after 7 days!
Can you help or not?
Kind regards,
Simple as that, I've sent money with many companies for over 15 years. I've never been told the money was ready to be picked up when it was not. I would never use this service again nor would I recommend it to ever be used.
Answer: Have they refund your money? Am still waiting for my money to be refund since two weeks now.
