Promo codes never work, and customer service stinks. There's an impenetrable firewall between you and the humans at world remit. No chat function, no email contact, and the phone number has a plus "one hour ## seconds" wait before someone answers. Been on hold for 24 minutes and 47 seconds and the wait time is increasing! I'm done with these idiots.
£50 of £250 sent went missing. Predominantly rude, sour staff. They cant be bothered to answer the phone. Manager did not call me back. Rude call "assistant" hung up on me., and calls cut off multiple Gave a substantially lower exchange rate than confirmed, and £30 of the funds sent disappeared. I spent about 5 hours trying to resolve this, unbelievable that they are allowed to trade. If you want your money to disappear into the pocket of crooks this is definitely the company to choose
I have used WR for a few years but no more after 4 transactions in the last fortnight, I had to chase up every transaction and usually had to wait 30-40 minutes on hold before talking to a call taker with a prepared script, no explanations for delays with second last transaction, took the money out over 49 hours ago, when I queried the delays it suddenly became a review, I emailed all the information then they claimed not to have received it, sent again, more delays. Finally got an email this morning at 9am saying that review is completed and funds will be released, that was 4 hours ago and 49 hours since the money came out of my bank. I am cancelling my account and would suggest using a reliable money sender that doesn't tell lies and actually listens to their customers.
I used WR for years without a problem. As of late 2001/throughout 2022, their website lags intolerably, and it takes an eternity to make any transaction/payment. I have now given up on them, and 'moved on' to another service. It's weird that this happened. Such a waste of the 'market share' that they had.
I've sent money and every time there is a problem it's impossible to get a hold of someone. The numbers they post online don't work or transfer you to another company. It's a total mess! Stay away from these people. Remitly is way better, doesn't charge a fee and since I've never had any issues with people not getting their $ idk how the customer service is
The worst service ever! We have tried to send money 3 times! All unsuccessful (before the pandemic situation too). The customer service is terrible.
For example, the last time we tried to send money from Switzerland to Colombia, waiting for 24 days, calling them, sending emails... and finally, they sent us an email telling us that the reason was that the process took more than 60 days and the recipient never appeared. Which is obviously not true!
How can they send an email full of lies? More at this moment when our families are waiting for the support!

I decided to send money to my wife in Colombia ( for urgent medical reasons)
After 5 days the transaction was never made and worldremit doesn't cancel or refund me my money ( 150 euros) using the same excuses. Stay away!
So this service World Remit is a Scam. I have used them for 2 years and I have done transfers up to 5000 usd per time and it has worked. Transfers have been from Scandinavia to Kenya. Then suddenly one transfer was lost and then the problem starts. I have been sent round in a loop of their customer service. I kindly asked for a swift confirmation (confirmation that they have sent the money) but they could not produce such. I ask them to pay back but they refused. I was lucky I only lost 100 USD it could have been much much worse…. Since they did not reimburse me or did anything I cant trust them and I advice others not to use the service since they cant be trusted!

WorldRemit is a scam service! Users stand warned. They act reliable at first to win your trust so that you increase transfer amounts, and suddenly steal your money. In fact, all the official telephone contacts on the WorldRemit website are out of operation (probably fake), which shows how shady an operation this is.
I initiated Transaction number ******* on April 03,2023, and immediately deposited the amount to the WorldRemit Rwanda account for onward transfer. To this day the money has never been delivered, and the status on my account shows: "We're awaiting your payment". Moreover, all the 'official' WorldRemit telephone and email contacts are not available.
Don't say I didn't warn you!
Scammers, as all other victims here have noted. They pretend to transfer money, then keep it and break of all communication with you. I am in the process of getting the British police to crack down on these criminals.
I have sent money through world remit few times, their rates are not great but I did because it was urgent. It was all ok until their system had an issue and one of the transactions was cancelled by them, since then I can't get my money back, every time I call I get a different reason as to why, and today I also learned that I have to send them my Bank statement ( which has all my private info and bank account number) just so they can see if in fact the money was not deposited in my account. Its been almost two months of back and forth. Use the major companies like western union and money gram please.
Got this after sending 100.00 usd to 5,000 php pesos. Reason unknown.

Yeah definitely not a viable alternative if you are trying to pay vendors or contractors because the platform is full of issues and is not business friendly.
After using World Remit for the past 8 months to pay our overseas writing team, today we were notified that our account was closed pending review. Our team is angry, they need to pay bills and feed their families.

Made a mistake of sending air time top up instead of actual money. I tried so many times to get refund or redirection, the reply came very late and they refused to give a refund. So they've got the money but the recipient didn't get anything and I've just paid for nothing.
I've been waiting for a refund since my transaction was cancelled last October 09,2020. They kept saying manual refund, i already did my part i gave my bank account but still my money not yet refunded. Worse company ever i experienced. Do not use this company to send money. Not recommended. SCAMMERS.
Worldremit hold my first transfer and called in the middle of last night! So I called them today morning and after 30 minutes of call. Hold... check etc. etc. And about 20 questions about the recipient, told they may clear my transfer (excellent!). Maybe they would not do it again during next transfers, but still... hell of effort to pass their scrutiny as a new user!
They withdraw money before confirmation of transaction. Once withdrawn immediately the refund process takes up to 7 days to complete. After complaining the service rep claims to be a subservient of their computer system. Beware of any company where a computer controls people! As you can see based other reviews this is common practice for this company.

WorldRemit has stolen 6000 USD from me and refuses to provide any help whatsoever! I am opening a case with the Belgian central bank.
They refuse to offer any assistance and in their portal they are falsely stating that 'Local partner is processing the transfer' which is nothing but a big fat lie! Their local partner refuses that they have received any information at all regarding this payment from WorldRemit.
I am not homeless and have no money for rent! I am loaning cash from everyone i now to stay in cockroach-infested motelrooms.
Twice in 12 months, transfers hang in limbo. No customer service relation, no explanation of what happened. Until reported to FCA then they start sending emails they working on it and take a long time to resolve
