Steal your money
October 12, 2022

I've got a Wix website and the next year they charged my card automatically
With $384 just like that
I'm fighting for my money back
I did not was agreed I did not sign up for anything still they charged my card when they just want too?
Is that ok? And just try to call them you'll see there's no actual people you can say a word
It's a machine
Try to chat with them
Same story
If something what is not in the topic you can chat with them either
It's like they take your money without no problem
And you will fight with a giant with no ear to hear you and no eyes to see you
Try that
Good luck with that
Honestly

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT COMPANY I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED.
THEY ARE UP THERE WITH FACEBOOK AND GOOGLE...
JUST SPENT A WEEK BUILDING A 42 PAGE WEBSITE AND NOW I CANNOT PUBLISH IT...
GO TO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THERE IS NONE... IT IS JUST QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS, SO IF IF DOESN'T SORT THE PROBLEM YOU ARE EXPECTED TO JUST GO AROUND IN CIRCLES...
SO I WILL TAKE MY MONEY BACK TO SHOPIFY...

DISREPUTABLE!
January 31, 2024

My company was closed during covid, and honestly, I forgot about this. I was sent an email about 10 days prior to my premium plan renewal, and about the same time, I was contacted with a credit card fraud alert. Wix was trying to use my credit card, which had since renewed, so they were guessing at the new expiration date and did not have the correct CID. When I looked at my WIX account, the box was checked for automatic renewal and they were trying to put a charge through for 2 more years. Keep in mind that it is still 10 days before the actual renewal date. I requested a cancellation online, got a confirming email and thought all was well and that they would reverse the charge. Nope! They continued to process the charge, and 3 days later I went to check and WIX had gone ahead and renewed for 2 more years. It is not easy to find anybody to speak with, since they have essentially NO customer service. I finally got a person in SF who offered to request a refund, but was doubtful since they only will refund after a 14 day trial. I am still 7 days prior to the renewal date, but he stated that the auto-renew box was checked. He tried to talk me out of disputing the charge with my credit card company (I think it costs them when you do that). I disputed anyway because they did not have the correct expiration date or CID, and my bank reversed the charge. If it weren't that they were dishonestly charging my credit card, I would have been stuck paying in excess of $325 since apparently they do not honor ANY cancellations for existing customers. Not an acceptable business model if you ask me.

I requested a refund for the 168.00 premium plan for a business website that I no longer run since moving out of state. I also do not use the business email and would have no way of knowing that they planned on charging my account. I was not expecting the auto renew that they conveniently place on the account so they don't miss out on a buck. 16 days after the charge was placed on the credit card and I was made aware if it, asap I asked for a refund explaining the situation and that the 168.00 was a lot of money to me at this point in time, but they quickly denied it. Seriously?!
Since the 168.00 was for 1 year of service, it was reasonable and fair to ask for a refund for a service that does me no good and I have no way of recouping the expense so it is a total loss. Wix doesn't care obviously, so I will never use then again or recommend them to anyone I know, unless they refund me the 168.00 and I will assume someone in their staff just made a bad business decision. Wix has the chance to make things right so I certainly hope they do.

Please do not use wix
March 21, 2020

Please do not use this platform. And if you do use this platform. Do not use wix payments. You will have a better chance using Paypal for your customers payments. Wix does not value humanity. There is no way to talk to any service agents who can really help you with your account. Wix has held money from my account for a month. I've been using wix for a year. And out of the blue they wanted to verify my identity. That's fine! I sent them all of my information. I. D, business license etc. And 30 days later they have not released my money. The customer care can not help. Sending emails does not help as you'll always get a replying message saying "we will contact you soon". The coronavirus is here and business owners need their money. Wix could give two $#*!s. If you want to verify your users identity. Do not allow your users to use your platform to receive money. Ask for legal documents first! I will be deleting my account and trying out Shopify. Now I see why wix has so many bad reviews. I literally called 3-5 times a week. Which only made me mad because all the agents read from a script. They have no remorse!

I tried their free trail site to build my website but their software didn't work at all. I wasted a week. Now I am trying to cancel the account but WIX customer service does not answer your call. There is only recording to go to WIX wesite. You can't even leave a voice3 mail. This kind of business practice must not be tolerated. I am going to complain to CONSUMER AGENCY. Their website Q&A How to Cancel site only talks about Upgrading your account to Premier account before canceling your account. There is not way to cancel your account once you sign up WIX.COM. Could someone help me how to reach WIX customer service to cancel my account?

First of all, I've been using Wix for about two weeks to re-design this, my current website:
https://www.flightdeck1.com/ I should have the new one created with Wix live by March 8 or so. I started my business Flightdeck+Rogue Racing about 18 years ago. My company is the only attraction like it in the world, still. Our customers are tourists, local residents and businesses booking corporate private events. Since we opened I've created/designed our website and had an outside company do it 2 times. Our current website which was designed by a creative agency is OK, but it is very very difficult to make any edits and changes. So I finally got fed up and went back on the web to see what's out there for the DIY websites. I tried six different website builders in the last two months and settled on Wix which I used 7 years ago and it was meh. But the Wix today is volumes better than from back then. At least twice a day I'm blown away by what I'm able to do in creating a website and by the way, I'm no graphic designer. My plan is to create this and then find somebody on upwork or fiverr to go in to improve/polish it. I read a few of the 1 and 2 star reviews and I swear most of must be competitors, hiring people to write low reviews or they're just plain bots, In my humble opinion. (still a work in progess re: photos)

I've used Wix in the past, built a website and bought the premium plan. I later cancelled the Premium Plan as I employed a website building company, mainly because I found the Wix Platform too fiddly to get around and in many ways limited me on what I wanted to as a website.

As a result I contacted them explained and I cancelled my premium plan. I trusted them to do their job properly and I honestly had no reason to doubt them. This was in 2020

I have since established that they have continued to charge my bank account, without my permission and run up a huge bill.

Sadly it means that I now have to change my bank card to ensure this doesn't happen again. It's peace of mind I know but, when they ignore you request there's no alternative. I therefore must warn people when they use this company and should you change your mind, regarding the service you're paying for you'll have to chase them and monitor your bank account for several months afterward to make sure nothing goes out and this isn't how it should be.

Not even ONE DAY into my expiration, wix registered my domain with godaddy. Possibly the most EVIL thing a website host/creator could do. Apparently, it's a common issue.

DO NOT JOIN WIX IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR DOMAIN NAME.

Shame on you Wix
November 4, 2018

Shame on you Wix for acquiring bully paradise called deviantART, which should've been left to rot until it stops existing! Acquiring deviantART in my opinion means Wix supports bullying, which is why I won't be using anything, which is related with Wix.

Money maker
October 31, 2022

When they are In the process of building our website they are all around by calling and exchanging e-mails. After finishing and they get what they need, the phone numbers and the email addresses stop working, this is a part of their plan. Wix is an Israeli software company founded by the developers Avishai Abrahami, Nadav Abrahami, and Giora Kaplanm, Headquartered in Tel Aviv. They are not interested for our reviews, they don't even bother reading them. Wix is based on automatization, we should check the company before we do any business with them.

Beware
February 23, 2021

I saw a charge on my credit card bill for over $200 from Wix. I hadn't used their service in two years but had apparently signed up for auto renew. They never sent ANY email communication that I was up for renewal or confirmation that I had paid for my renewal. It just appeared on my credit card bill. You cannot call them, so I emailed a very nice request for a refund on a service I don't use and, quite frankly, forgot I had. Because I was a couple of days beyond the window to cancel (like I said, I didn't receive any confirmation that I had paid except my cc bill), they denied my request for refund. This was AFTER I explained to them my family's financial hardship due to my frontline working husband's hospitalization. This company is heartless and incapable of doing the right thing. No doubt they will rely on my husband and his colleagues to do the right thing if they are ever in need of service in the ER. It's just all about the bottom line - not at all about doing the right thing. The $219 we could put toward our medical bills just lines their greedy pockets. Shame on them.

I thought I was going crazy - do not pay for premium. I honestly feel scammed by what I was led to believe to be an otherwise legitimate business. I was making personal financial/budget adjustments, so I turned auto-renewal off so that when my paid-for year ended, it would cancel and I would live without the premium benefits. I was very shocked and angry when I found out after I could no longer get a refund that my plan had auto-renewed. OK, I turned it off AGAIN, made a note to check about a month before it would cancel, thinking I had somehow mistakenly forgotten the last time (I hadn't - there was a warning of renewal in my spam folder, however I checked my old emails, and I HAD IN FACT turned off auto renewal previously). Well, it's that time of year again, and what shows up in another folder of my email (pictured)? A warning that my plan will renew soon. Wix NEEDS to fix this. There is no reason I should be worrying about whether my account is no longer cancelled... after cancelling and receiving confirmation of said cancellation nearly a year ago (also pictured). Yes, I will agree the website builder is nice, easy to use, has great options. But it's not worth this trouble. Give your money to a more honest business. This is not how you should treat your customers. Wix is great if you love the interface and don't plan on cancelling, ever. I will never, ever pay for a service through Wix again.
