I am trying to set up a site for my new small craft business and, sadly, chose Wix and paid $324 for a one year subscription. After weeks of trying to build my site, I realized it was fruitless because I do not know Java Script and it was not made clear on the sign-up site that I needed to know this. I requested a partial refund of my yearly fee (perfectly willing to pay for the month used) but the company denied my refund with no explanation. I gave them one-star because 0 stars is not an option.
I can't help but think I am not the only one in this position.
Choose ANY OTHER company but Wix.
This is so frustrating! I made an online store website, I worked so hard. Finally it was ready do publish and I put the option for customers to pay with pay pal and wix payments. They said they needed 7 to 10 days to verify all the information before putting the money of the purchases in our bank account and it has been over a month and they haven't finished the verification process! I contacted them so many times and we always get the same answer "just wait". We already shipped all the products that people bought and we are very afraid of loosing all of that! All the worked that I did, the money that we haven't received and all the products that we already shipped. I don't know what to do!
I left WIX this morning. I had a WIX page for my fan fiction writing. All of a sudden, WIX wouldn't let me post links. When I contacted customer service, they gave me nothing but double talk. When it became obvious they were not going to help me, I pulled the plug on my page. Only then did they start trying to talk to me normally (which by that time was too late - I had already had it). Their handling of the situation early on was very unprofessional and left a very bad taste in my mouth. I won't be back.
I stopped doing business with WIX in November or December 2014. I found a hidden enrollment billing of $50 showing up on my November or December 2015 credit card statement. Received NO notice of re-billing. I disputed the transaction through my credit card company. It has been my experience that companies are pretty gracious and quick in removing these kinds of hidden enrollment billings. Not Wix. They are still playing hardball and demanding payment. For what? I closed my website in April 2015. I don't even know what they are charging me for.
Once you cancel they continue to bill you year after year. Each year I have to try to get customer service, which is a whole other issue, and try to get the charges credited back to my account. I have had four missed calls from them so far and have an open chat box going for thirty minutes with only my chats... no response from the company. I was holding my phone and it didn't ring, it went to missed call! Worst customer service ever!
I have tried a few other website creator, and WIX is by far the most practical, resourceful, and yet affordable one I have tried. It was recommended by a book publishing designer, friend of mine, and besides being able to fully create my website in one day, I also received a, effective customer support assistance when I needed. The technical support representative quickly accessed my computer, identified the issue, and the problem was immediately fixed. I was speechless to see my problem solved in less than 5 minutes. I am giving 5 Star for my overall current experience 10/12/15

This company charged my card $1,439 dollars. I've never used this company in
My life. They only refunded my card back
Accept the rest of $571 dollars. They claim they don't have anymore billing infomation for the rest of the charges. They claimed that I would receive a email in 5 or 7 days. I told them I'm not waiting for $#*!. I want my money back now! I want all of them arrested. If anyone is with me we can file a lawsuit all together.
I would leave a 0 star review if I could! I have been trying to delete an account for two years. It was originally set to "auto renew". I took it off this feature because the service has to expire before they let you delete your account. Each year the auto renew feature some how "magically" gets switch back on and then a 60$ fee gets charged and I am told that I have to wait another year before I can delete my account... so I turn auto renew back off and wait again. Then in the spring I see another $60 charge and get told to have to wait another year to close out the account. I'm disgusted by this entire process and this company.
They have 14 days refund policy. I paid for 1 year and decided to stop using it. So I requested for a partial refund less than a month form the starting date. They refused refund request without any explanation.
Well for starters customer service is a joke you have to write your complaint and wait for someone to answer on the help page. And nothing changes to add to the web page unless people vote on it. WTF really. Your supposed to be helping me make money not lose money! I cant change shipping charges on each individual item!. I cant give shipping discounts if a person buys more than one item from me and I was told to create a coupon for that. Then they could use it for buying just one EZ salsa and I would lose money. This is not E commerce friendly. It is great for everything else. Looking forward to taking my business somewhere else
Having been associated with some form of web design/support/maintenance over the past decades, I'm quite impressed with how the wix platform works! I used it for one year to see how many adds I couldn't stand, like some other web platforms. I actually didn't mind the small wix add because it was a free site and I had tons of my photographs loaded. I like the editor and the many free apps/buttons/tools. This year I took advantage of their savings and locked in my own domain and upgraded to Premium. Now it's really cool to have my own little domain like a real person, not just some FB junkie. Anyway, I'm a big fan of Wix.com so please enjoy! BTW, it does take work to learn it, so don't criticize it unless you've seriously spent some time to understand it. I'm sure it's not powerful enough for some mega techies, but for the common humanoid, it works fine.
Total rip off site again. If its too good to be true it is. They let you build and make you mess up so you need a designer and scam you that way. After I did days on the site then they messed it up so I had to get a designer to pay for and did not even get a phone number to call STAY AWAY another f. Scam company on the web. Huge mess.
Use another billing service, I have heard Stripe works well. They do not give you the money that was paid.
I supplied some services and they held my money and said that I had hit a new earning threshold. I made $440.00 and now the extra $210.00. They told me they need a bank statement to prove I held the account. I will not give them my personal bank statement, and I no longer have a business account. They refused to accept a voided even if they accepted it the first time. They are stealing my money and it looks like this is a familiar pattern with them. STAY AWAY THEY ARE THIEVES! They should be put out of business and in prison.
I have been using Wix for years and though it is not a bad platform they very deceptive in their billing, you pay for a year and then they automatically charge you for another year with no warning, no bill being sent to you and they charge you what every they want. It should be up to me if I want to renew with them for another year, not up to them to automatically charge me. I would recommend not to use them their service is not that great I'm just use to it over the years. There are better services out there that don't have to be deceptive in their charges.
Seems like a straightforward and easy website builder, but when I signed up for premium to have more space and features there was no option to only buy for a year, it WILL auto renew and they will not remind you after that year or give you a chance to cancel, they will re-enroll you in another year plan and only notify you after they have charged your account and will not give you a refund. Very shady practice to me.
I designed my company logo with Wix and decided to order business cards from their affiliate OrderPrints! BIG MISTAKE! I ordered two sets of 100 each and paid extra for a heavier card stock. What a Joke?! The cards arrived and looked like they were cut out of kindergarten cardboard paper... maybe that's even heavier than the ones I paid for! Never will I order cards from them again. VistaPrint did my old cards and they were of professional thick card stock, not cheap and flimsy like the ones I got through Wix! That company should pick better company affiliates so they will get return customers. After this incident, I will never use either of them again and I suggest you don't either!
I was looking for a website when I can across Wix.com who offered FREE websites. I was interested, prepared a three page website. Then they offered to upgrade it. Thats when I was not only charged, but they kept their advertising on the site and then deleted the pages I needed. This is a "BAIT & SWITCH" company to stay away from. You can look at what they did to my site at sidewinder1debartoli.com. I am going to have to replace the whole thing. When you speak to them, thy don't answer you but instead avoid your question. They suck!
I paid for two years and a domain name. Neither have appeared when I log into my account. WIX says I have no paid account but that is not true. I want the money returned to me that they took under the belief that services would be supplied. I have no access to my website and WIX has no customer support. I can't even ask for a refund.
I have been using Wix for years and recently it has become buggy and utterly unusable.
Want to update your site? Sorry, that wont be happening. Or maybe it will. Or maybe the screen will develop a life of its own where it moves things all on its own without pause!
It seems to depend on the direction of the wind.
And if you think that customer service is an option, THINK AGAIN.
Incompetence, indifference and inaudibility is all you are likely to get if you dare to contact this trash heap of a company that takes advantage of people by outsourcing labour to another country - allowing them to pay a pittance for staff who can't possibly deal with things in the same way as a person living in the same country.
Goodbye.
Title sums it up. Great design set up - but then nothing works and you can't get help. Premium was supposed to include free email and domain, but then they are charging and it turns out it was only for one year. I am leaving.
Answer: There not bad, but they offer really poor customer Service skills. Doesn't matter how long you do business with them the only thing they care about is your money. So if you dont stay 100% on top of things on your end your screwed.

Answer: No no no
Answer: I've been trying them for days now, with no luck! The recording first said, that "due to call volume, i would have to call back when they next opened on Monday (feb 13th!)" which means that they haven't changed their answering message for days! Then I tried this morning, and there is a new recording that saids that they will next be open on Tuesday feb Feb 21st! So. Fuck. Seriously. We can't afford to rebuild our whole site again with another service! And i've/we've had WIX for over 6yrs now..
Answer: Hi, I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We'd like to assist you in resolving this error as soon as possible. Please contact us at support@wix.com for further assistance, or call us at 1-800-6000-949.
Answer: One of the things that really bother me with Wix (besides them being so focused on extracting money from their customers that they tend to forget about everything else) is that they make these changes and do not care one bit to inform their customers that they are going to do this, so all of the sudden one has a site that doesn't function and unless one keeps checking daily whether everything still works as it should, one end up having problems. That's one of the reasons why I'm out and do not plan to use them much longer.
Answer: Please don't. It's just a scam to take your money and give no service.
Wix has a rating of 1.3 stars from 654 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Wix most frequently mention customer service, credit card and premium plan. Wix ranks 149th among Website Builder sites.
