What happened to the quality of WinterSilks? I have a wonderful 100% silk turtleneck made for them by. The White Pine Company in the 80's, and others of slightly lesser quality purchased from them more recently. Couldn't find this standard product #RN ******* today. Customer Service was less than helpful..."100% silk probably too expensive... never seen anything like it since I have been here." The company name continues to be WintérSILKS. If silk is too expensive, change the name. Signed, Disgusted

I received a pair of silk sock liners as a Christmas present. Less than a month later the heel of one of them already has a hole in it. In my defense, I keep my heels smooth, never wore them by themselves and laundered them according to manufacturers recommendations.
Not Happy.
I live in a part of the country where it's important to keep your feet warm in the wintertime and I hoped that these would last for at least the season.

I bought what their website listed as SILK, but was sent an acrylic product called Polarmax, The customer service person could not tell if I had been sent the incorrect item or if their silk really was "a 2nd skin like Polarmax". She said there were no Polarmax items on their website, so I assumed their SILK listing was just fraudulent advertising. Then I checked their website again & there were Polarmax items. I called back, asking for a customer service supervisor to get someone a little more knowledgeable. The agent refused to give me a supervisor & said he had no idea about my question--Do they actually have silk items or not-- he only knew what was on their website. Certainly not going to play with them anymore. Returned item in question for a refund.

I hadn't ordered from them for several years - I used to love their products. Made the BIG mistake of ordering a large order (9 items) Dec. 23rd. First of all, the order wasn't even SHIPPED until 12/29... and now they are telling me it was left by my door on JAN 6th. USPS did NOT ring my doorbell, even though I was home, and I did NOT receive the package. HOWEVER, Wintersilks says they will NOT do anything until JAN 23rd, when I must call them back. I bet they'll just brush me off when I call back then. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Fraudulent billing scheme
December 25, 2015

My father purchased a silk undershirt for about $60. He ordered, and then received the item, along with an invoice. Apparently they would not accept a credit card payment, so he wrote a check and mailed it. He then received a late payment notice with a charge of $10. He wrote another check and snail-mailed it. A month later, another late notice, another check. Rinse. Repeat. My dad, being in his 80s and too trusting, did this 5 times.

This is appalling behavior. Do not patronize this company.

My mother used to buy Wintersilk silk long underwear for me 20 years ago- they were great. I have purchased several sets over the years- and with each passing year, the quality has declined. I purchase FOUR sets of mens silk long underwear pants in T/L and FOUR unisex mock turtleneck L tops. As I have done for years. This year not one item fitted correctly. The pants are so large that they will not stay up and they are short. They don't even reach my ankles. The tops? Short in the arm and the body and they don't come near my wrists. Plus the body of the tops is gigantic! They are square! TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. The Chinese sure can't make clothes. Wintersilk needs to smarten up and watch what is going on in China. The quality of the silk is miserable- thin and easily pills. The sewing is awful. The sizing is absurd. I will never buy from this company again. Does Hanro make long underwear in silk? They make nice long underwear in fine cotton! Hello Hanro, good riddance WinterSilks.

Called on the 14th of Dec between 9am & 10am 5 times and waited 5 minutes for three of the calls with no one to speak to, I then sent an email and received no response, I called again at 1:30 to ask to speak to supervisor and after being asked to answer some questions I was told I was being transferred. Guess what, it went right to a survey and then disconnected. The president of this co should hear about this but then again the workers are a reflection of the management. I would not trust this business and surmise this will probably go into the waste can,

No colors
November 19, 2015

WinterSilks heavy weight T-neck tops in a variety of colors are my all-winter staple undershirt, but I guess when they wear out I'll have to look elsewhere because they are now offered only in white and black or gray. No more colors. Other reviewers have commented on poor quality and service from the new owners but I cannot add because I cannot find anything there I want to buy.

Over the years, I have come to value the WinterSilks undergarments product but after 3 horrendous experiences ordering from them, I now will avoid the company at any cost. The customer relations staff, or whoever it is you reach on the phone to make an order, is uniformly unhelpful, and beyond that, aggressive and hostile. It seems they can never just accept the order and send it in the mail: they are always claiming some "problem" that bars prompt service: either they claim the physical address does not match the billing address or that the credit card is being rejected or that there is cause to add very high shipping surcharges, none of which ever occur with other companies. Each time I place an order I end up embroiled in chains of phone calls that never resolve anything. It's as if they don't want to make a sale. And now they won't.

No Clothing for Men
October 29, 2015

What happened to Wintersilks clothing for men? All I see now is underwear and accessories? This seems to have happened since they were acquired by Blair.

I had bought in the past from wintersilks and their products were good enough value. Recently ordered silk shirts that looked great in the catalogue, but were ill fitting, with necks that were not in line with the size of the shirt (as in way too big). Two different shirts and both were poor quality. Return policy not listed ANYWHERE in the choosing, buying process and I had to pay to return and had to insure! Customer service informed me the return policy is on the home page, Do you know anyone that looks at return policy before looking to buy. In Massachusetts all return policies have to be at point of sale. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

I have ordered s size silk Rib Cuff Turtleneck top and it was Chinese sizing for Asian petite females, as in wider in the middle (a square with collar and sleeves) and 10 cm too short sleeves. To compare pricing: for same price as I payed them 89 usd with delivery and + taxes, I have purchased an original Ralph Lauren silk button shirt for 86 usd from ebay. Quality & sizing was night and day, since winter silks are just cheap. They have Photoshop-ed pictures in their web-shop and international customers are not even allowed to leave comments or get discounts. Rib Cuff Turtleneck was so sheer that you can literally count how many flowers I have on my bra print, so you can't wear it outside or on it's own. I have actually bought better quality and cheaper silks from Chinese ebay sellers before, so one does wonder why shop specializing in silks is so $#*!ty. It's basically a scam shop, better spend your money elsewhere. To be honest I also have doubts that what I have received was a silk product, it is not cool feel and feels like cotton blend.

I have ordered from WinterSilks in the past and I have liked the products I have received. In the past, I have not had trouble with shipping. After a week had passed, I had not received an email with a shipping confirmation. I called this morning and was told that because the billing address and the shipping address were different they needed to confirm both addresses. Right. This wasn't the case in the past and something like this takes a week? I was told I was mailed a letter. Gee, what are the odds that this is the only letter I have never received? Bottom line, order may be delivered 3 weeks after placed. There are much better ways to shop on line.

As many have said, this company has changed dramatically in the past years. Both quality, sizing and styling has changed, and not for the better.
But, of most concern is the VIP automatic charge that you might be assessed if you are not careful.
It is something that happens when you follow some clicks during online ordering. Without realizing it, you may authorize this charge. I was able to get the charge removed after filing a complaint, but it should not have happened in the first place.
I suspect all these changes are a result of the consolidation of a number of companies use the "Blair" name-whatever that corporate entity that is.
The business practices we are now seeing are probably the result of consultants advising how to increase the profit margin, without regard to impact on product and subsequent customer loyalty.
Thanks to SIteJabber, and social media, we have put some (just a little) power back in the hands of the consumer!

I purchased next day shipping on Monday for an item I needed for a bridal party on that Friday. The next day shipping cost about $30, and it ended up taking over a week, arriving the next Tuesday. On the Wednesday afternoon after I purchased the item--when I realized that next day shipping wasn't actually next day shipping--I called customer service to cancel the order. After all, the item was still in processing--it hadn't even been handed over to FedEx yet. The customer service representative was very rude and absolutely insisted that the order could not be cancelled, and that I would have to pay a fee to return the item and that I would not be refunded the shipping price. She finally yielded to pay for return shipping, but I still lost out on $30 and had to receive the item and then send it back. This website and company is a serious bust--don't bother buying anything from here when your local Macy's has more silk products for less with instant gratification.

I've noticed that sometime in the last few years, this brand has basically been sold to a mega-corporation, and anything good about them has evaporated. They used to have lovely, flattering silk underwear tops with v-necks and thick lace trim, which were absolutely stunning. I remember layering a few of the light weight silk underwear tops and wearing them on a first date with my now long time boyfriend, and his repeated comments about how sexy I looked. Now, they only sell misshapen sacks for older, overweight women to wear.

What happened to this brand is really sad.

I recently purchased a washable silk nightshirt and was looking forward to this little luxury and, when it arrived, the garment was fine. However, after just one hand washing/line drying, it looks like I've worn it for years: threads hanging, thin material with a now rough finish in spots, pulls in the silk. From reading the other reviews, it appears that WinterSilks has lowered their standards. I have pajamas from Alexander Del Rossa that are polyester but feel more luxurious and wear like iron for one-third of the price. Done with WinterSilks!

I typically buy silk undershirts and camisoles every couple of years, spending about $500 per order. I wear these undergarments daily - light weight sleeveless / short sleeves in summer and heavier weight 3/4 and long sleeves in winter. I placed an order a month ago and found that selection had decreased tremendously, but I ordered anyway because I had really worn out quite a number with the tough winter.

I was amazed (in a bad way) at what I received. The materials were a much looser and lighter weave - for light weight through heavy weight. The silk felt coarser. The workmanship was poor with completely different edging and seams - day and night from before to this order. The value of the goods received was half compared to previous.

I kept the items only because I was desperate. I wrote them a complaint and heard nothing in response.

DO NOT BUY! I will never again order from Wintersilk or any of their partner businesses.

My wife and I bought several clothing items from wintersilks. From turtleneck sweaters to robes to underwear. Nothing lasts. It all wears out quickly. The quality is very poor. I would avoid buying anything from this seller.
