Charged my credit card on February 10 and sent me an email that item had been shipped. Now Its 3 weeks later and no sign of the merchandise. The company's customer service says that they will not do anything for 30 days after the charge! So I get charged interest for their policy. I miss my son's birthday and they do nothing.
I order from WinterSilks occasionally. Today saw that they are offering $5.99 flat shipping on any order. Proceeded to make my choices and was then offered at 20% discount if I would provide my email address. I did. At end of order shipping was charged at $17.99. I called "customer service" and was told that I could only have one promotion. The offer of flat shipping cost should stand, but they refused. This is misleading and seriously offensive.
The few articles I ordered would cost less than $5.00 to mail anywhere in the US.
Their HIGH shipping costs are the main reason I seldom order from WinterSilks. Terrible image to give to the consumers. From what I have read and learned their customer service is the least favorable thing they offer.
I was a loyal customer for 30 years, but no more. I'll be finding another supplier for my silk long johns from now on. Customer service at wintersilks is now horrible. They have little to no product knowledge and there is no one there to care if we are happy or not. All I can do is warn all my facebook friends to stay far away from wintersilks. Hopefully others will do the same.
Having a similar problem-no garment, much too much time has passed since I placed my order 12/06/16 and it is now 01/13/17) During my last customer service conversation I was told there is no issue until it has been 30 days since it was sent out. What is that supposed to mean? This is 2017 - how can it take so long. AND how can they not even care. AND why are they still in business? I've been had.
The company makes mistakes in taking the order and ships several days later than promised. I asked to pay more for fast shipping and they did not do it. I had to make special arrangements for someone to pick the package up.
I don't know how it will end but will NEVER order from you again.
I was a long time customer and like your stuff!
I've ordered from Wintersilks many times for many years. I've bought long johns, sweaters, and their silk panties are the only ones I'll wear.
Most of the time, I'm very happy with both the products and service. Occasionally I've had to return an item because it didn't fit. The sizing is off sometimes. I stopped ordering the silk noil sweaters because they pill. I've never had a problem returning an item. I've never had a billing problem.
The apparel, unlike intimates and long johns, changes often. When I find something I like, I buy it. And I get a lot of compliments.
Wintersilks is one of the best kept secrets in apparel. No one is ever wearing what I'm wearing. And there are great bargains as well.
I love their 100% silk longjohns! They're excellent to keep me warm while I work out in the pasture in the winter. The bottoms are cut weird so that the waistband dips down in the back instead of reaching my waist, but I don't care. It doesn't keep them from working.:)
So far everything I've bought from Winter Silks has been high quality. Unfortunately I didn't keep my receipt, so I don't know if this will show up or not.
My wife and I bought several clothing items from wintersilks. From turtleneck sweaters to robes to underwear. Nothing lasts. It all wears out quickly. The quality is very poor. I would avoid buying anything from this seller.
My first order to Winter Silks was a pair of flax linen pants in size 10. When I opened the package I noticed how thin and flimsy they were and proceeded to try them on but when they would not pull up over the thighs I knew they were way, way too small. I packed them up, thought the return shipping was too high. Since reading these reviews I have decided not to bother hoping I meet someone tiny who can wear them. Never again Winter Silks.
I am about to send back the second night gown which I bought -- thinking the first several years ago was a fluke. I bought this one about a year ago and after 3 washings (I did not wear it till recently) the fabric began to disintegrate and holes appeared. Now a big rip opened up. A blouse that I bought a few months ago was so shoddy that I sent it back. As a very long time customer, I am appalled at the quality decline.

As many have said, this company has changed dramatically in the past years. Both quality, sizing and styling has changed, and not for the better.
But, of most concern is the VIP automatic charge that you might be assessed if you are not careful.
It is something that happens when you follow some clicks during online ordering. Without realizing it, you may authorize this charge. I was able to get the charge removed after filing a complaint, but it should not have happened in the first place.
I suspect all these changes are a result of the consolidation of a number of companies use the "Blair" name-whatever that corporate entity that is.
The business practices we are now seeing are probably the result of consultants advising how to increase the profit margin, without regard to impact on product and subsequent customer loyalty.
Thanks to SIteJabber, and social media, we have put some (just a little) power back in the hands of the consumer!
WinterSilks heavy weight T-neck tops in a variety of colors are my all-winter staple undershirt, but I guess when they wear out I'll have to look elsewhere because they are now offered only in white and black or gray. No more colors. Other reviewers have commented on poor quality and service from the new owners but I cannot add because I cannot find anything there I want to buy.
Silk half slips in 3/4 length are knit, so stick to hose and skirts. The hem is trimmed with the same elastic as the waist (how weird is that!). Now consider that they want to charge $49 shipping for a $30 slip. $49 shipping? Really? I am in Canada, not the moon!
I received a pair of silk sock liners as a Christmas present. Less than a month later the heel of one of them already has a hole in it. In my defense, I keep my heels smooth, never wore them by themselves and laundered them according to manufacturers recommendations.
Not Happy.
I live in a part of the country where it's important to keep your feet warm in the wintertime and I hoped that these would last for at least the season.
Tried twice to place an online order. Both times the order was received by WinterSilks, but both times the order "disappeared" in their system. Now they have my personal and credit card info, but no one knows where this information went! Their response to my email query:
"Thank you for contacting WinterSilks regarding your order.
We have checked and are unable to locate any record of receiving an order from you.
We apologize if the order did not get processed and for any inconvenience this has caused.
Sincerely,
Candy

So they apologized for the "inconvenience," but have no explanation as to where my credit card information has gone!
My wife used to like their clothes and service... Alas, Winter Silks has turned into a low quality warehouse. So, I decided to have myself removed from their catalog mailing list. 12 months later I am still receiving their worthless catalogs despite repeated requests and complaints. I'm guessing their abject refusal to stop sending me landfill has something to do with their eroding customer base. They can now add another customer who will never buy a thing from them again. At the rate they are losing customers... I probably will stop receiving their catalogs soon enough... They will be out of business. Well Done! Winter Silks!

Since the late 1970s I'd shopped Winter Silk when it was called Silk Collections -- and continued to do so without hesitation until the most recent years.
Winter Silks started using synthetics; workmanship is of a lower quality; and the variety of merchandise has diminished.
Regretfully, I've observed that all poor rating reviews has a measure of accuracy and will trust the comments as affirmations to what I've discerned.
I kept asking myself whether the company has new ownership with new policies.
If so, they need to have a wake-up call, because I am looking for another resource as I am sure that other very well may have considered.
I recently purchased a washable silk nightshirt and was looking forward to this little luxury and, when it arrived, the garment was fine. However, after just one hand washing/line drying, it looks like I've worn it for years: threads hanging, thin material with a now rough finish in spots, pulls in the silk. From reading the other reviews, it appears that WinterSilks has lowered their standards. I have pajamas from Alexander Del Rossa that are polyester but feel more luxurious and wear like iron for one-third of the price. Done with WinterSilks!
Like others, I'm so disappointed with the response I've gotten (which is zero) when I asked about a product. A mock neck sweater got a run at the neck the first time I wore it (which was well after the 90-day return period). I wrote to ask about a replacement and have gotten zero feedback (they could just have said "too bad" and that would have been OK). I think their quality has dropped and there seems to be a lack of pride on the part of management. There are better sites online to shop (eg. LLBean, Chico's, etc.) and so I will shop in those places.
Last fall, I ordered some long underwear and a sweater for a one-time business trip to Minnesota in winter. Somehow, I ended up in the WinterSilks VIP Program and got charged $14.97 every month! By the time I caught it, several months had passed, and I called to complain. I was told it would be cancelled, but lo and behold, it appeared again on my credit card this month. I have cancelled that card... I will never buy from this company again. Beware the VIP Program when you order from this company.
Answer: It's because it's not even the same company making the garments anymore. Venus Swimwear sold out years ago to a company called Blair. I think Wintersilks is now probably being used to launder money due to their obvious neglect of once loyal customers and now horrible quality of merchandise.
Answer: Why do you call yourself a silk co. When your clothing is made up of less silk and More spandex, etc.? If it's such a luxury and you want us to be comfortable why don't you tell the truth? Why do You glue on the mailer containing orders ads for ADT? For goodness sake: your co. Bombards us enough, are you getting paid from adt to glue on an ad? HAVE A HEART!
