Horrible
July 11, 2018

Ive been getting money taken out of my account constantly. I tried returning my items and they dont want them back. The agreement Sears & I had for my payments was not the same as they gave WhyNotLeaseIt! Complete rip off!

As promised
July 8, 2018

I've used them several times. The trick is to catch a major appliance on a good sale so the payoff isn't way over the product's actual value. That way ur not further penalized for not qualifying for a standard credit agreement.

I did what I agreed to on time and so did they. I have a pesky habit of actually reading contracts I sign, so there were no surprises or unexpected problems.

It worked for me!
January 18, 2020

I'm reading all of these reviews and I'm confused. I could not afford $1400 for new tires on my pilot. I used this company at Sears, and I just purchased my tires after 90 days with the early purchase option.

The representative on the phone was extremely pleasant and helped me make the purchase. They conformed to the lease agreement and did not overcharge me.

It makes me question all of these reviewers and the fact that they most likely did not read the terms of the lease and did not understand what they were doing. They saw a chance to get a product without having to use money or a credit card, took advantage of it, and then come time to pay they claimed idiocy.

I have had 3 leases with them already (in 2 years) and no issues. They take the payment on the due date, and I know I have to pay the amount that I borrowed + 10% at the end of the 90 days. I have even made additional payments to make the final payment a little easier. This has become a great lifesaver when I am in a crunch. Also it is not WhyNotLeaseIt who does not explain the terms its the sales person that sold it to you. If you did a little research before going in, it is very simple and straight forward. Amount borrowed + 10% in 90 days = DONE

I was able to purchase a desperately needed washer and dryer from Sears, thanks to WhyNotLeaseIt. I had no issues thus far and paid off the lease within the 90 days. I totally understood that it was going to be a lot more money if I did not pay it off in the 90 days and I made sure it was paid and I called them at the number on my contract. I had no issues getting through and spoke with a very nice customer service agent that was most likely not in this country, cut I could understand her and she was polite and I will definately be using their services again!

Everyone here complaining about these terrible people ripping us off, signed a contract with this company to make your first payments with the ability to purchase for maximum of a 10 percent interest rate within the first 90 days, anything after that you're paying a lot more and continue to lease for 5 months. Its not the company's fault that you didn't care to read because you were just excited to find out that sears was going to let you lease something with your terrible credit lol. The company's only source of profit is when people dfault on their payments or take the continue leasing option, so yes thats the way they want you to do it. Other than that, you should have read the contract because if it seemed to good to be true, then guess what. Mit probably was. Happy saturday! 5 star rating from me, a customer who bought a nice mattress, paid it off in 90 days, and lived happily ever after.

Great experience
May 9, 2019

Purchased a dishwasher from Sears through why not lease. We didn't have over a $1,000 so we were able to break it down into manageable payment for 90 days. Make sure toy understand the program thoroughly or it could cost twice what it cost for your appliance if you go past ther 90 days. Just know what your signing up for before using this program.

They make it sound like you can lease the item, and eventually own it. Well, I've been paying 12 dollars a week for a year now on a 250 dollar item, and still owe about $130. Ridiculous. Never again. Stay away!

This company going in my bank account taking how much money they want each month, they will get there payment and then come back and take more! Every time I asked them why they have a excuse for it! If your wise you wont do this option, if its presented to you decline! Customer Service is poor and also upper management. I had to get unprofessional because I am tired of them taking money out of my account! When you take more money that is owed that is considered fraud, this is fraudulent company!

We purchased a refrigerator and oven through their leases. It has been nothing but hell with them ever since. Every time I try to make a payment online, it automatically takes the payment out of my account twice, no matter what I do. I try to pay $20 dollars, it goes through twice and I pay $40. And I set up a schedule over the phone with a representative, who said I would only have two more payments to be made in December and January. But suddenly I still have four more payments happening in February, that do not line up with my lease at all. And they never alert you when an automatic payment fails, they just allow the interest to build until you're 200 dollars in debt. The representatives always say they are helping, but the numbers and payments never reflect what they said, and they never fix the problem.

Horrible, lying company that steals your money. Can't wait to be over with them, if they ever let the payments stop.

Total Rip Off
March 18, 2020

I purchased a fridge when Sears was going out of business in Oct of 2019. The total price was $800. I put down $300 and "leased" the remaining amount. $900 later and I'm still making payments. When I called they told me the "payments" were essentially just renting it and in order to "buy" it I would need to pay the total amount due of $400. That was not explained at the time of buying the fridge or anytime thereafter. Stay away from this option

RIPOFF!
June 13, 2018

You are basically renting... if you choose to purchase the item after the lease is up, prepare to pay what the item was listed for. Or, a bit more.
I wish I would have used another finance company, like Progressive. Where the price of an item goes down after making so many payments.

Total Rip Off
February 5, 2019

This service was sold to us as a 'payment plan option.' After paying nearly $600 in payments on a dryer that was sold to us for $$629, the buyout price is over $300. Ridiculous! Please don't get into a plan with these people. It's a complete racket! They sell it as something very different. Apparently there is an option to pay off the balance in 90 days and avoid this, but that option was never shared with us.

Rip off cons
August 26, 2018

They talk out both sides of their mouth. No true understanding of words. Play on people's true needs of the item and then twist the words onto believing that you are paying for an item when in fact you actually renting an item for life. The payoff terms that they're talking about is basically you could have just bought the item yourself without their assistance. Because if I was able to make a payment first and then come up with the remainder 90 days. Heck I could have went on and just waited 90 days and paid for it the same day.

Beware Dont Do It
June 17, 2020

This is the worst just dont do it... You will regret it... There lease has hidden agenda they will make you pay for merchandise that you no longer have they will turn your account over to collection and it cheaper to just pay them off instead of going to court if it's less than 1,000 stay away

Sears representatives need to be more aware of the details of this leasing program, they explained it as a lease to own, which it is not. The payments you make dont even go towards paying off the item, they go directly to why not lease it as a lease payment unless you pay more than their required monthly payments. If you cant pay the item off within 90 days they force you to make 5 months worth of lease payments before you can own your item even if you have the money to pay for it. I know this is all in the fine print but still, this company knows they are taking advantage of people who cant afford to pay for these expensive items up front. I'm going to end up paying about $600 more than the ticket price for my washer and dryer because of this company not being transparent and not making sure the Sears associates explain their program properly. I will never use a leasing company like this ever again.

Liars and Ripoffs
July 17, 2018

Sears told us it was a rent to own situation. We paid a certain amount for 5 months and we'd just have to make a phone call and the product would be ours. They continued taking the same amount out every month until we sent the products back. No one told us they would continue taking money out every month after the 5th month and it said nothing about it in the contract. I read it at least 10 times to make sure I didn't miss anything. I spoke to the company several times and no one from there told me anything about it either. Now I'm having to send the product back so they will stop taking money out of my account. Next time I'll go through Rent-A-Center or something.

The worst
October 8, 2018

Upon using whynotleaseit, they told me that I would basically have a "rent to own" type of deal. Unfortunately it was nothing like that, once the scheduled payments came out I was told more money has to be paid in order to own the property. Instead of paying $519 for a wash machine, I end up paying $778.72 just to lease it and they want another $500 just to own it. They are the absolute worse.
