Worse company ever, people have thick accent and does not listen does not care - scam!
I told them I wanted to buy it and they kept me on the lease for months, so I told them to come and get it, they wouldn't give me that number until I pay more!

Fraud
December 10, 2019

I ordered a few Christmas gifts December 10th. I was approved and they took $60 down payment despite advertisement from Sears stating $30 down payment if ordered online. False advertising!

They didn't notify Sears of the lease agreement. I contacted Sears and whynotleaseit several times trying to get one of them to contact the other to get the order fixed. They refused.

Whynotleaseit changed their story several times claiming I had to give them between 24 and 72 hours for Sears to fix it. This is my third lease and my wife has done a lease before also. We never had to wait. It's always been instant. Sears has no order # or knowledge of the order.

I am submitting the $60 charge as fraud to my bank!

The only thing is that when you have a problem you have to call India, where the culture is apparently to ramble on and on and on and on with the customers instead of recognizing that their time is valuable and getting to the point.
They do. Not. Shut. Up with the small talk and it's irritating AF.

Total rip off
December 6, 2019

They don't tell you the money you pay does not go toward owing the product you leased your only renting it and never get to actually pay it down ever. They say your borrowing money no payment you make go to the product you have to still pay for it once your lease is done full price. I payed twice of what i should have thininking it was going to be payed off after 6 months its not a lease to own its a lease that never ends.

Easy to use at Sears
November 24, 2019

I read my entire contract before I entered into this aggreement. My washer and dryer died and I did not have the money to purchase outright. I also had a new car loan on my credit and could not get approved for traditional credit. I was able to pay this off quickly with their buy out option at the end of the specified leasing period. Reps are friendly and willing to assist.

BEWARE!
November 15, 2019

Absolutely the most ridiculous contradictive language on a contract I ever read! There is a purchase price in another paragraph there is a end date with option to buy and another paragraph after states garbled language of depreciated payoff payments that make absolutely no sense. So when manager "Rich" and rep beforehand start rereading the agreement to me multiple times I had to ask them to stop. I asked how long have you been working for this company? About a year. I asked so you sound like you understand this agreement pretty well? Guessing you've reviewed it multiple times during your time with this company right? Yes. I said well, no matter how many times you read it aloud to me it still sounds contradictive and makes no sense. I'm certain if I tried to explain medical billing to you right now you more than likely would not understand it either right. Probably not. Now that we're on the same page...
Advised this manager that I wasn't paying any more than what this product is worth. Along with misleading advertising "So easy own in 3 months" I am not paying more than what this worth. Both reps said I could purchase for a higher amount than what it was after 90 days. You've got to be kidding me! How does that even make sense?
Told the manager if you take one more payment from me I am giving to my lawyer and another copy is going to the F. T. C. Along with my bank statements of how much I've paid to your company thus far. The manager then writes my account off says that I own it outright and the account is closed.
Pretty sure this company needs to get investigated. Once you bring up FTC to a shady company they quickly respond! That's for trying to pull more money from me. Wrong person to deal with.

Worst company ever, they tell me that this was a credit program. I just realize because they keep taking money from my account after I paid the full amount of the washer. So please do not use this program. They are there only to rob you.

I leased a refrigerator from sears outlet for $613.73. I didnt have the money to purchase the refrigerator at that time but I knew I could pay it off next month so I decided to lease with this company. I glad I didnt see these bad reviews or else I would've never leased it. I called the company within a month and they only changed me 35 dollars so a total of $548.73 to buy out my lease keep in mind that sears charged me $111.23 for a first payment. I bought a refrigerator worth 1k brand new so I still came out on top. This is a great company if you are responsible and know that you have to pay off the lease within 3 months. Interest does go up every month so that's why I pay off in the first month. After you pay it off they will give you a confirmation number and you will receive a email tell you that you paid off your item. Make sure you call back after payment to confirm that the account is closed. Oh and when you call do not give your last 4 digits of your ssn that way you can talk to a real person. The mechine on the other line is a peace of crap. Lol here's the number just in case you need it *******680.

DON'T DO IT!
November 13, 2019

I went to Kmart a year and half ago to purchase a window ac for my garage. They sales clerk told me that I should get a bigger ac unit and go through there "why not lease it" program. Being an idiot, I went ahead and did it. The agreement was that they would deduct $42.37 out of my bank account every month until I got the overhead down to $100 then I could just pay off. As mentioned above, that has been over a year and half ago. Since this time I have been charged multiple times with a $42.37 twice a week, and then another $20.00 a week later. When I call to try and talk to a real person, I never get one or mysteriously get disconnected. I have tried going through my bank to stop payment, but bank wants a statement showing that I have consent from why not lease it. I have tried taking the ac back to Kmart and returning it in return to just stop taking money out of my account, but Kmart can not help. Thus far they have taken well over $1,000.00 out of my account for a $286.00 ac unit. I am now forced to close my bank account and date them to try to hit my credit with it. Don't do business with these thieves.

WORST LEASING COMPANY!
November 5, 2019

I PROCESS MY LAST PAYMENT FOR EARLY BUY OUT ON 10/28 AND THEY STILL CONTINUE TO TAKE PAYMENTS OUT OF MY ACCOUNT AFTER I MADE THE FINAL PAYMENT. THEY STATED BECAUSE THE REP FORGOT TO CLOSE OUT MY ACCOUNT AFTER I MADE FINAL PAYMENT. I CALLED AND REP SUBMITTED A REFUND FOR THE AMOUNT AND SAID I WILL GET IT BACK IN 48HRS, 4 DAYS PASSED AND STILL NO REFUND, I CALLED TODAY 11/5 AND ANOTHER REP TOLD ME I WAS GIVEN WRONG INFORMATION AND IT WOULD COULD PROBABLY TAKE 10 DAYS. EVERY TIME I CALL THEY PROVIDE ME WITH WRONG INFORMATION! I ALSO I HATE THAT EVERY TIME I CALL I HAVE TO VERIFY A WHOLE LOT OF PERSONAL INFORMATION BEFORE A REP CAN ACCESS MY ACCOUNT. I SHOULD'VE DONE RESEARCH AND READ REVIEWS BEFORE STARTING A LEASE WITH THEM.

This place is a joke, they will put you on hold for 10-30 mins at a time for simple answers.
The customer service is over seas so you wont deal with an English speaking person.
They dont take payments easily.
Process is annoying to apply and annoying to pay off. Overall save a bit and buy it outright this place is a scam.

Absolute Scam
November 3, 2019

This place needs to be shut down by the BBB. It is an absolute scam. I don't think I have read one positive review of this business. I just wish I had read them before leasing to own through Sears. Never missed a payment, and ready to pay off my lease but NO ONE will take a payment. They will put you on hold for over an hour or flat out disconnect the call. They want those lease payments to continue, which they will well beyond the date you are expected to pay off. You will never own the product if you do not use the payoff option. Do not use this program!

This system is very tricky... YOU MUST read the fine print and understand what you are reading. Getting a lawyer is pointless... I got suckered into this smart gimmick but oh well. After the leasing term ends and you're "final payment" is received, you either pay an additional $900+ to own the equipment or you start another leasing term... This INFO IS ON THE RECEIPT itll get thrown out in court. It is a good system if you have a job but your limited in you're bank account... If you have the money to spend buy one out right. DO IT and save youreself tons down the road

I have used this program with sears, Have had three leases and paid them off. I didnt have any problems with any of my leases they told me everything up front they explained what I didn't understand and I totally understood that I lease the property till I pay it off at the end of the 3 months they give you options to pay it off yea probably a little more that the items were sold for but for someone like me i got a great lawnmower tools grill and am very pleased with my results in fact about to pay off the fouth lease i have... they approved me for another lease for christmas which I can pay off early. Yea i pretty much like this company they have treated me very well...

Plain and simple, their contracts are convoluted and end up having the consumer spending hundreds if not thousands more to close the contract. Their customer support is horrible. Their mere ability to have an educated conversation over a customers concern is lacking. I would NOT recommend this service to anyone, under any circumstance. Huge scam! Huge rip off! Very very disappointed. Let's not forget SEARS in all of this, no wonder they're going out of business, working with these types of partners is just horrendous and unprofessional. I really thought the SEARS brand could be trusted, guess not. Good riddins and see you never.

Don't lease a mower
October 9, 2019

I got the Attorney General involved on my account. Misleading contract to say the least. I paid the 1800 plus amount stated on contract. Tempo said I still owed 900 plus to pay off... or refinance thru Sears.

The Arkansas Attorney Gens office got involved. Got an email today saying account paid in full. I threatened to sign the pending civil suit already in the works... over 1560 signers as of August.
But they settled mine before hell broke loose

Don't Do It
October 4, 2019

I leased an elliptical thru Sears. As of August 8th, my contract was complete. I wanted to return it because it's a flimsy piece of crap. I was told I could have it picked up with no problem after my contract ended. The Salvation Army called me one morning to tell me they were at my house to pick it up. WAIT! No one told me this! I'm not even home! I've been trying to get them to send someone out to pick it up because if they don't, they will charge me even more! What a rip off!

I leased a refrigerator and dryer from them, it was at least $2000 to $2500 in total. It was still an amount on the lease, they paid it out. Going over the amount we paid to the day he paid it out. In total we paid almost $9000 for both items. I thought they were a company where you would pay a little interest but DAMN! I will never lease from them again. I WILL DEFINITELY "NOT" RECOMMEND ANYONE TO LEASE FROM THEM!
