Bought a small side-beside refrigerator in January, 2023. A loud noise was coming from the refrigerator two weeks ago, A Whirlpool tech said it was because I was missing an air duct.
I called Whirlpool customer service and they said no to my request that they pay for the part since it wasn't there to begin with, not the service call or other parts. I'm not a tech so how am I supposed to know when a part is missing?

Brand new whirlpool dryer with steam cycle. Called in for service within days of owning it. Repair man has came out twice. Whirlpool says this is completely normal. It pours out water around the door onto the floor when in steam cycle. Not a little water either, a lot!

Three and a half years ago we redid our kitchen and purchased all Whirlpool appliances. A month ago, our electric range showed an error on the control screen and quit working. I called a repair service and was told the control panel was out and the repair bill would be $515. I called Whirlpool and after being on hold for 45 minutes, finally talked to someone and was told since we are out of warranty there was nothing they could do. Finally I asked to speak to a supervisor who called back several hours later and said he would look into things and get back with me. 3 weeks later after no one called back so I called Whirlpool again and was told there was nothing they could do other than a 20% discount off full retail on a new range but only if ordered at their website. I checked out local pricing and the Whirlpool "discount" was still more than sale prices locally. Here I was with a three and a half year old range, having to go out and buy a new one. Inferior product, definitely inferior response to my situation. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product!

Whirlpool has faulty Control Panels in Wall Oven models (Model: WOS51EC0HSxx) and they have Control Lock, if any power failure happens when this lock is enabled, after power is restored, this Control Lock can't be disabled, only way to fix is to replace the entire Control Panel, which costs $649. Usually this happens after the warranty expires. This is a big scam and they should take responsibility for the bug/faulty Control Panel software!

Shambles
February 10, 2025

Bought a Whirlpool fridge on May 8,2023. On May 27, the fridge was dead. Whirlpool would neither replace it (corporate policy) nor fix it (no spare parts in stock). By late July, two compressors and one mother board later, the fridge was finally up and running. On February 7,2025 the Whirlpool fridge was dead again. This time it's the fan, which - surprise, surprise - is not in stock and is backordered from China on a timeline of weeks. So… we cut our losses and bought a Samsung fridge which should be with us in two days. Damn you, Whirlpool. We'll never touch another product of yours with a 10-foot pole.

Six weeks without refrigeration

Previous review

Our new fridge arrived on May 25 and broke down on May 27. It's July 18 as I am writing this and the fridge is still dead, with Whirlpool both unable to fix it (no parts in stock) and unwilling to replace it. "Outrageous" does not even begin to cover it.

MALA CALIDAD
January 5, 2025

Mala Experiencia.

Ice maker quit working on the fridge/freezer
Top rack broke on the dishwasher
Oven throws a code for upper cooling fan speed and have to reset the breaker anytime you use it. But yet no recalls on any of the appliances. Sell in quantity not quality!
Bought whirlpool because I have a washer and dryer still running strong after 20 years but this new stuff is junk!

We have had our Whirlpool refrigerator model WRS588FIHW 2.5 years ago and our ice maker stopped working. Out of warranty of course. Called a technician to fix. First issue a sensor went bad so they replaced the ice maker. Also the technician said a wire had severed at the bottom left side of the freezer door. He spliced it back together. The freezer made two batches of ice and quick working. Had to call the technician back. The wire is built in the door. He said that there is no fixing it other than replacing the whole freezer door.

The circuit board failed and my 13 month old machine was in a constant state of draining. The service guy said a new board + labour would be $389. The machine cost $500! This is a well known issue with Whirlpool washers yet they still use the same problematic board. In a few words...Avoid Whirlpool.

The brand new washer broke down after only a few months. Been waiting on service for WEEKS. Every time service guy is supposed to show up, it gets canceled with some lame excuse. One guy finally showed up, put in an electrical part, and naturally it worked for five minutes. Now we gotta wait another two weeks and pray someone shows up. Worst experience I've ever had.

I would like to share my experience with a Whirlpool fridge I purchased less than three years ago from Canadian Appliances. Two months ago, I discovered that the door had rusted in several spots, and the condition has been getting worse. I called Whirlpool customer service three times and emailed them with attached pictures. Finally, they informed me that my fridge is not under warranty, and I would have to pay 50 percent of the cost to replace the door. I did not accept this because I paid $2,500 for the fridge, and I cannot trust the quality if I have to pay for repairs. This is poor and unacceptable quality.

First of all we had the gasket fixed twice and replaced twice in the first year. It takes a special ice bin to keep the ice from falling to the bottom of the freezer (it doesn't work ice falls thru). The bins on the freezer door are open and the food falls out of the freezer (we had to put cardboard to close the gap). The refrigerator is now almost two years old and the gasket leaks and we have to wipe the water collected on the shelfs daily. We are looking forward to labor day to get a new refrigerator (not Whirlpool). The refrigerator was purchased from Best Buy their order # **************

Whirlpool/Bauknecht. Wat een ongelooflijk slecht bedrijf zijn jullie!

Over the last 4 years we have purchased 11 whirlpool appliances 5 of those 11 have been refrigerators. Of the 5 refrigerators 4 have had catastrophic repair issues within the last 3 years and are as follows: 1.) Failed after 37 days of use and Technician was not able to repair, fortunately The Home Depot replaced a new refrigerator as Whirlpool was not willing to own their defect. 2.) Failed two months after purchase requiring 6 months to repair same issue, then the same issue came back two more times and now the refrigerator is out of warranty and Whirlpool doesn't want to own the defective refrigerator. 3.) Failed at just over two years due to a faulty structure with the refrigerator that was due to gaps in the seals that damaged the thermostat, defrost coil, control board. We actually were able to repair this ourselves and keep the refrigerator working. 4.) This is our most recent and last Whirlpool purchase, but we noticed the gaps in the refrigerator seals and immeadiately returned the refrigerator back to Lowes as we learned from the issues in the units above. We have purchased over 20 Whirlpool appliances in the last 17 years and we are no longer going to purchase anymore as the products are terrible and the customer support and follow through matches the product.

Whirlpool dishwasher
March 14, 2024

I bought a dishwasher directly from the company. It stopped working 11 months later. There was no Whirlpool technician in my area so I had approval to use my local one. I paid out of pocket with a promise of reimbursement and 3 months later I have received less than half of the money for my expenses. Emails and phone calls have been ignored. NO MORE WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCES FOR ME. BUYERS BEWARE!
