I spent 5 years building out a nice site on Weebly. An app glitch happened and I contacted their tech support. I was told to uninstall and reinstall the app. When I did this, it immediately deleted every piece of data created with the app on my site, basically gutting the site. Luckily I saw this and did not save the update. Further communication with both Weebly and Square tech support produced no useful result. My site is now frozen in time, because if I save what's in the site editor, I burn down my site. There is NO backup or archive of the current or previous versions of the site, and changes cannot be rolled back. So their tech support recommends solutions that burn down your site and they take no responsibility, they have apps on the site that will delete any content created with them over time, there is NO mechanism for backup, archive or rollback, and finally they will make NO effort to assist a user other than providing scripted answers that don't provide a solution. Buyer Beware!
Even though they know I am the site / account owner and can even see my credit card information to confirm, they won't help reset my passwords. Only way to reset is via an "forgot my password " link and if you don't have access to the associated email account- you literally have to build a new site (per their support.) Unbelievable.

I've been using Weebly for 7 years and I certainly regret it.
I have hundreds of pages to transfer to a different system so I just put up with Weebly, but for anyone starting out don't even think about it. Run any Weebly website through an SEO checker and then you'll see red everywhere, then there are hundreds of duplicate pages because of the way they create category URLs for the blog. Google hates these duplicates. Page loads are also slow in general because there is no image optimiser.
And the image picked up from a blog post when posting to social media is often something from the overall page template and not the one that you have attached to your post.
These little issues go on and on for years and are never resolved. Just check their forum for all the comments asking why things have not been fixed for years...
If you are working with other products such as landing page builders or email systems it is extremely rare to find integration with Weebly. That means you are often stuck with having to pay Zapier for example to integrate data flows.
It's a total mess, but try to get help from "Support" and you will eventually give up in frustration. Mostly they don't answer. When they do it's worse. So better not to become frustrated and just put up with what you have built until you can muster the energy to transfer to a different system.

I PAID for a 10y Weebly website in 2014. After a change of ownership, they're asking me to pay again, with 2 years left to go. And they can't be contacted. Outrageous.
I have had a domain and website through weebly since 2009. I pay annually for the domain, and it's threatening to unpublish it now even though I just paid $30 in Sept 2022 for a one year lease of my domain. It's March 2023, how can they keep $30 but unpublish my site simply because they want me to pay a subscription too. THERE IS ZERO CUSTOMER SUPPORT no one responds, there is no way to contact them. They are scamming me buy selling me my domain and then pulling back now.
You will either be stuck with them forever or go through a nightmare to move to another system. You WILL lose your verified reviews, which we all know are vital to selling online.
Not only are they terrible for SEO, they hold you hostage, which should be illegal. A customer's data belongs to the customer and should be available to take with them wherever they choose to go, especially when the customer is paying for the service.
I hope they go out of business or someone files a class-action lawsuit against them.

Always read reviews before you plant your business or services with a software company. Make sure you have the freedom to take your business somewhere else for any reason.

I've had one business website (teamhci.com) on Weebly for years, and manage another (@julielappin.com), also for years. Both are down, and the email addresses I use for each are also being rejected. After hours on Google trying to get support, piercing the requirements is based on user email -- which are being rejected. In addition, I ran into multiple support page dead ends. The whole experience makes me wonder if Weebly/Square in financial trouble, and trying to take my (prepaid for the year) businesses with them. Before Square, I would have rated Weebly 4 or 5 (out of 5) on support; right now it feels like 0/5.

They make it next to impossible to cancel your service with them. I had to search through their support service faqs. Even after that, it sent me to their automated chat system. It seems as though Square/Weebly is managed by one person. If this is the case, I refuse to give them my service. Hassle-free process my a$$
They failed to apply our nonprofit and tax exempt status to our accounts, despite it being done 3 times for the same bill along with a letter of confirmation from them. When I disputed the bill because they would NOT provide me a detailed bill or why my bill went up almost double, they shut us down. I was 100% correct to dispute the bill. This is a multimillion dollars lawsuit because not only did my sight get hacked but they shut down all the rest of my sites that had nothing to do with this bill and that were either paid in full or free. Anyone know a good attorney willing to sue them for destroying our 911 Emergency Services and discriminating against the disabled and so on.
Unfortunately, I've been with Weebly for 7 years-- yes, there were frequent glitches, but they had support back then to help fix things. Now, I have two websites-- one of which is an e-commerce store and I am absolutely terrified because of the time spent on this recent launch and there's really no one to help. There's been a nice person named Paul I've been able to email with-- but it's days and days before I hear back and there are money sensitive, HUGE problems like people not being able to login to their accounts. It's been two days of this randomly happening and no one responding. Seeing these reviews have me terrified about my Domain now because I'm probably going to have to go back to Shopify. Worth the added expense when you have the comfort someone will be there to help in a timely manner. I feel like once Square acquired Weebly, they abandoned anyone still using this interface vs. their Square option.
Weebly used to work fine for the 10 years I had it before Square took over. I knew it was doomed. Square is ruining it. I am being forced off the platform because of error codes that don't allow me to set up emails, and my website is being removed in 28 days because Square is refusing sign ups. Even though I have a Pro Account and paid for the year. They made sure they took my payment before telling me I am booted off. When Square, the company, started, they were unsecured and had tons of hackers getting into mine and other people's accounts. Since so many hair stylists were using Square, they catapulted it up but the company is still no better than it was with zero customer service. The guy literally responded to my emails 2 months later - 2 months too late - what kind of customer service takes 2 months to respond to hacking into an account? Meanwhile my account was hacked and they were saying I owe tons of money - from other countries - although my sales were in person not online. Because this guy was not addressing my issue, and blew me off, they have a record that I was contacted by him and didn't respond so now banned from Square? Square did not allow you to shut down your square account that contained my bank account number! This company is a joke and has ruined Weebly. Are they going to refund me the amount I paid a designer or the yearly fee I paid? Much less the time it is going to take to transfer everything somewhere else, and work involved. Unlikely.
Was once a low-end decent web site builder. After the Square purchase, I'm assuming - everything started to suck; the support, loading times, slow, basically just terrible all around. Times out when logging in, double login, overpriced.
Weebly just makes you go around in circles, over a month still can't settle the refund that they charged double on my credit card.
Horrible customer service, keep saying refund on their way, financial institutions holding the refund.(As I checked with bank, no refund pending)
To the end Weebly get back to you that refund request over 30days, can't get refund
The Weebly.com website has a serious flaw in its programming. If a file/picture is posted to a website with a common name, for example "Scan 1234", and later a totally different file with the same name is posted to that website, the program over-writes the original file/picture and places the latter file/picture in its place, causing incorrect files/pictures to be posted where they shouldn't be, even if its on a totally different webpage of the website..

If you're looking for a website builder that epitomizes frustration, inefficiency, and sheer lack of knowledge, then congratulations! #Weebly is the perfect disaster waiting for you. I've had the misfortune of using this platform, and let me tell you, it's been nothing short of a digital nightmare.
First off, let's talk about their so-called "customer service." I've encountered more knowledgeable toddlers than #Weebly's representatives. It's as if they've never even seen a website, let alone know how to build one. Every interaction feels like a blind leading the blind scenario, with me often having to educate them about basic website building concepts. How is that even possible?
SEO? Don't make me laugh. If you're hoping to rank anywhere on search engines, #Weebly might as well be a black hole where your website's visibility goes to die. Their platform is so outdated and clunky that even the most basic SEO practices become a Herculean task. And don't even get me started on their "SEO advice." It's like asking a fish how to fly.
Unresponsive? That's putting it mildly. Trying to get a hold of #Weebly's support is like trying to catch smoke with your bare hands. And on the rare occasion that they do respond, their advice is often so off-base that it's laughable. I've received better tech support from my grandmother, and she still uses a rotary phone.
In a digital age where website building should be intuitive, efficient, and supportive, #Weebly stands out as a glaring example of how NOT to do things. Their platform is a labyrinth of outdated features, their customer service is a joke, and their overall approach to helping users is nothing short of abysmal.
In conclusion, if you value your time, sanity, and online presence, steer clear of #Weebly. There are countless other platforms out there that offer superior service, better features, and actual knowledgeable support. Don't waste your time on this digital trainwreck.

I rarely write reviews, but my recent experience with Weebly has compelled me to share my frustration and disappointment with their service. As a web developer with extensive technical skills, I can confidently say that Weebly has severely let me down.
I have a domain with Weebly that I wanted to move to a more reliable hosting service, Hostinger. However, Weebly's interface has been so broken that I've been unable to unlock my domain. With no live chat available, I've had to rely on their slow email support system. It took them an entire week to respond to my initial inquiry, and another week to reply to my response. Worst of all, they didn't even fix the issue!
I then requested that they contact the registry to unlock the domain, as Hostinger's support team confirmed it was still locked. Weebly never replied. I've sent them two more follow-up emails over the past month, but have received no response.
This poor service has greatly impacted my brother's business, which relies on the domain. He's now been without a website for two months, all due to Weebly's lack of customer support and technical competence.
In summary, my experience with Weebly has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I would strongly advise others to stay away from their service. If you're looking for a reliable and responsive hosting service, look elsewhere. Weebly has proven to be a massive headache that's not worth the time or effort.
Weebly is a fiasco. I have had a paid plan on it since 2013. It was great before it was taken over by Square in 2018. Square tried to 'knit together' the weebly interface w/ Square's store. Ok maybe that should work-- but it DOESN'T. There are endless problems with items not charging shipping when they should, and charging it when they shouldn't. Ten months of contacting their "customer service" (aka customer disservice) has done nothing. Stay away from Weebly. When I have time to take on rebuilding my website on a new platform I'll switch, but omg, be warned, you will regret Weebly; find something better if you are starting out now.
Tip for consumers:
stay away, stay far away from Weebly. Terrible site. Numerous bugs that charge shipping wrong, tax wrong, no matter what you pay for a plan you will never get any helpful customer service.
Extremely dissatisfied with the customer service, which is almost impossible to contact. We bought their service after looking at all the articles and tutorials on their super flexible and rich website builder. Unfortunately once you purchase, you'll discover that the actual builder is totally different. When asked why, they will tell you that they just switched to a new platform, that will get the old feature deployed asap. After almost a year, we didn not see any change or imporvement at all. Also the app store is advertised with multiple integration possibilities but in fact not available! Pricing is also not transparent and every time you try to talk to someone from their customer service, if you are lucky to get there, 1 out of 10 you get incomplete answers or are pointed in a wrong direction that leads you to start another frustrating contact attempt! SCAM!
Very dishonest company and people altough I had deactivated the recurrent mo subscription they kept
Charging me…lucky for me I had the paypal payment system thus I could just stop the automatic payment and get the refund thanks I had screenshots of the deactivation of services
It has problems often. As far as they are small and you can deal with them, it is just a litle slow and uncomfortable. But if you have a serious issue, there is no way to contact them. You send mails (the only contact way they have) and no one responds... so you can have your website or your payment system crashed for weeks.
I'd like to give 0 stars. Worst company I've ever dealt with. Charged my husbands credit card and then somehow got my credit card number - maybe through Go-Daddy? Because all the monopolies are in bed together now - and charged me my Canadian credit card AGAIN in U.S. dollars! 104.00 Canadian! I didn't find out until I did an audit on our credit cards and they kept me on the phone for over an hour with the 'team' trying to figure out why they charged me. They requested a screen shot of the charge on my credit card, which i emailed to them immediately. They asked me dozens of questions and kept putting me on hold while they ran after their tails. After all that, the rep came back and said they could not find any justification for the charge or any record of it - but because it was more than 4 months ago they weren't going to refund me! So I'm calling Visa and reporting their fraud to have it removed. Now I find their partner company go-daddy has been charging my credit card as well - in U.S. dollars! Stay away from these shysters and never leave your credit card on an account!

I was surprised to see all of these negative reviews. Although there have been a few bumps here and there, I have not had any significant problems.
It's not worth my time to explain it all, but one of the main problems was the strange connection between Square and weebly and if you change the email address in weebly then you end up in a mess where you can't log into weebly but you can log into Square and from there get into weebly but not the other way around, and the password reset doesn't work. I also lost half an hour's work because I ticked a box which required an upgrade but I couldn't back out to where I was.
Thieves. Hijacked my domain and won't give it back. Can't connect to customer support. No online solutions. I am contacting the BBB to get this resolved. In the meantime they have put my business to a halt. What scum bags.
They shutdown my websites and my account claiming I was violating the terms, but I was not. I decided to create my websites somewhere else. I will never go back to weebly.com again. Try squarespace.com instead.
