Their website builder is not functioning properly anymore I've been with Weebly the last 2 years for some strange reason it functions incorrectly not happy at all I thought it's a great builder unfortunately now for some strange reason is not functioning properly
Unfortunately, I've been with Weebly for 7 years-- yes, there were frequent glitches, but they had support back then to help fix things. Now, I have two websites-- one of which is an e-commerce store and I am absolutely terrified because of the time spent on this recent launch and there's really no one to help. There's been a nice person named Paul I've been able to email with-- but it's days and days before I hear back and there are money sensitive, HUGE problems like people not being able to login to their accounts. It's been two days of this randomly happening and no one responding. Seeing these reviews have me terrified about my Domain now because I'm probably going to have to go back to Shopify. Worth the added expense when you have the comfort someone will be there to help in a timely manner. I feel like once Square acquired Weebly, they abandoned anyone still using this interface vs. their Square option.
Weebly was good in the past but in recent years it has become a nightmare to deal with them. It is beyond time consuming, stressful and frustrating trying to reach Weebly over problems and next to impossible to reach anyone. Despite advertising that a person can have a free website, unless paying for services, when a person is not really doing business under a company and does not need to make changes to the website but want the website to still be on the internet, Weebly has deleted the website. Despite contacting Weebly about the website being taken down by Weebly, Weebly does not respond or deal with the problem. Weebly kept billing monthy despite the second website being moved to another company and has refused to issue a refund. STAY AWAY FROM WEEBLY OR YOU WILL FACE THE THE MOST SIGNIFICANT STRESS FRUSTRATION, THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, LOSING YOUR WEBSITE AND BEING BILLED WHEN THE WEBSITE IS NO LONGER WITH WEEBLY.
You will either be stuck with them forever or go through a nightmare to move to another system. You WILL lose your verified reviews, which we all know are vital to selling online.
Not only are they terrible for SEO, they hold you hostage, which should be illegal. A customer's data belongs to the customer and should be available to take with them wherever they choose to go, especially when the customer is paying for the service.
I hope they go out of business or someone files a class-action lawsuit against them.
I started using Weebly in 2015 - maybe even earlier - and was quite happy with their platform. Then my business grew and I needed a website with a lot more functionality. I spent hours creating product listings (items?!) and found my own work-arounds for shipping functions that just weren't helpful or intuitive. Basically, I limped along with Weebly (Wobbly) for years after it was clear it wasn't the right platform for me. Fine. That's my problem and my own fault. However, trying to extricate domain names from this platform has become so impossible that I want to shout from the rooftops: DON'T WORK WITH WEEBLY!
In April, the nonprofit I work for hired someone to help transition our site away from Weebly to Shopify. That consultant spent hours in the chat trying to figure out why the domain couldn't/wouldn't transfer. In the meantime, as we were trying to transfer the domain, the advanced site plan automatically renewed and we started communicating with Weebly about getting a refund. It's a nonprofit for god's sake... every penny counts. That was in April. I've spent five hours between yesterday and today trying to find out why the transfer didn't go through. It's clear that the random folks that show up on the chat know nothing and have no access to what's really going on. Which is frustrating since I'm a paying customer. Though the problem was finally pinpointed, the customer service experience has been terrible. When an agent couldn't find a separate thread about the problem yesterday and I sent her a screenshot, she implied that I was trying to pull one over to get a refund that wasn't allowed.
I started seeing the writing on the wall and decided to move my personal site away from Weebly and now that domain is also "stuck" only this time, all I'm getting from customer service is, "this is a known problem and we're sorry for the inconvenience". I believe that Wobbly is falling a part. PLEASE DO NOT PAY FOR THEIR SERVICES!
No one in the company knows who they are and what they are doing. The company is now merged with another company named Square up but they call themselves square which is easy to mix with square space which is a legitimate company. I spend over two hours on the phone with 4 different people but they do not even know how things work inside the company. I have been on hold for over 30 minutes on the phone and I wanted to speak with the manager at the end but they said I have to write my complaint which I decided to write it to the public rather than them. I am even not sure if anyone manages anything there. They made all the mess and sold a domain saying I get access to free templates but the templates were for the so-called square company. I requested cancelation, they canceled everything and mentioned my customized domain will be released in 3-5 business days. It has not become available and after following up I have been told I need to purchase the plan and domain with them again for at least 3 months to be able to transfer the domain or I can wait for a year when the domain becomes available again! For me it was not about the money, it was their disgusting business model that they only wanted to sell you products with no support.
Thieves. Hijacked my domain and won't give it back. Can't connect to customer support. No online solutions. I am contacting the BBB to get this resolved. In the meantime they have put my business to a halt. What scum bags.
WHY SINCE SQUARE HAS TAKEN OVER THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON EXISTING! YOU GUYS HAVE HORRIBLE SERVICE FOR US WHO HAVE BEEN WITH YOU FOR YEARS! NO ONE TO TALK TO A BOT THAT DOES NOT HELP! YOUR SERVICE NEEDS SERIOUS HELP AND IN THE MEANTIME I AM LOOSING SALES
I've been using Weebly for 7 years and I certainly regret it.
I have hundreds of pages to transfer to a different system so I just put up with Weebly, but for anyone starting out don't even think about it. Run any Weebly website through an SEO checker and then you'll see red everywhere, then there are hundreds of duplicate pages because of the way they create category URLs for the blog. Google hates these duplicates. Page loads are also slow in general because there is no image optimiser.
And the image picked up from a blog post when posting to social media is often something from the overall page template and not the one that you have attached to your post.
These little issues go on and on for years and are never resolved. Just check their forum for all the comments asking why things have not been fixed for years...
If you are working with other products such as landing page builders or email systems it is extremely rare to find integration with Weebly. That means you are often stuck with having to pay Zapier for example to integrate data flows.
It's a total mess, but try to get help from "Support" and you will eventually give up in frustration. Mostly they don't answer. When they do it's worse. So better not to become frustrated and just put up with what you have built until you can muster the energy to transfer to a different system.
Weebly discriminates between countries for "security reasons" (scams, etc.). Countries in Africa like Senegal for sure. They do not disclose the countries nor give you a solution. They say that their "firm response" is that it is like that. This involves that you cant access the site to edit from these countries, nor have any visitors. So, what is wrong: 1, multicultural teams working on the sites, are imposible. And 2nd they are contributing to limit access to a young and growing country such as Senegal were I work. It is not contributing the population to feed itself from content, information, knowledge, etc. It is a shame and we are extremely sorry we have been using Weebly for so long. With no answe from Weebly, we have to unfortunately change host platform, with the work that that involved. But our values are still important to us. Good luck!
I had my art portfolio up using this crappy website builder that recently 'joined with Square' then when I copied my website reluctantly to their new Square platform everything that I worked so hard for became erased and everything was gone I will NEVER use this GARBAGE WEBSITE WEEBLY/SQUARE EVER AGAIN! DO NOT USE!
My business went under, and my business credit card got an unexpected charge. No easy way to find em
Weebly is a fiasco. I have had a paid plan on it since 2013. It was great before it was taken over by Square in 2018. Square tried to 'knit together' the weebly interface w/ Square's store. Ok maybe that should work-- but it DOESN'T. There are endless problems with items not charging shipping when they should, and charging it when they shouldn't. Ten months of contacting their "customer service" (aka customer disservice) has done nothing. Stay away from Weebly. When I have time to take on rebuilding my website on a new platform I'll switch, but omg, be warned, you will regret Weebly; find something better if you are starting out now.
Honestly, I'm so sick of using Weebly to enter new items into my inventory system (used with Square). I'm absolutely computer-literate, I know what I'm doing, so this is not about user-error.
For some reason, almost half of my items do not actually save the edits. And the weird thing is, there's no rhyme or reason to it. Like, it'll save the categories that I want it to be in, but it won't save the changes made to the title, or the sku, or save it as visible when I've clearly marked as visible. It tells me that it's saved. It looks just fine when it goes back to the "all site items" screen, but when I actually go and check my online shop, they are not visible. So, I have to go back in, find all of the items that didn't actually save correctly, even though it originally said it was saved. I have to remark them as visible, re-edit the title, re-edit the SKU and then save again. It's the stupidest thing. And it's only for some. This especially awful when checking customers in the shop in-person, I scan the barcode and if I didn't realize the sku didn't save correctly then the item just will not show up.
I'm honestly sick of it. I've spent the last 5 hours, entering items in, saving them and THEN re-editing those same items. What a waste of a day. Moving forward? I have no clue. I'm going to have to switch over to a whole new service. This sucks and is so frustrating.
Weebly just makes you go around in circles, over a month still can't settle the refund that they charged double on my credit card.
Horrible customer service, keep saying refund on their way, financial institutions holding the refund.(As I checked with bank, no refund pending)
To the end Weebly get back to you that refund request over 30days, can't get refund
It has problems often. As far as they are small and you can deal with them, it is just a litle slow and uncomfortable. But if you have a serious issue, there is no way to contact them. You send mails (the only contact way they have) and no one responds... so you can have your website or your payment system crashed for weeks.
Weebly seems like a great option until you realize there's NO support given and unless you are "of the top tier". Otherwise Weebly just takes your money and doesn't offer anything. Even as a customer with a website they DO NOT OFFER ANY SUPPORT. You will spend your time trying to find a way to speak to them and they will continue to blow off their customers. THIS IS A HORRIBLE WEBSITE DOMAIN HOLDER. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND THEN YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. YOU EVEN GET CHARGED 2 YEARS AFTER YOI CANCEL YOUR WEBSITE. AND THERES NO ONE TO SPEAK TO THE CLEAR IT UP. THEY DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS EVEN ON THEY OWN SCREW UPS.
Do not use Weebly. They will rip you off.
I unpublished my website before an upgrade; Weebly decided to delete my account. All my billing was up-to-date. They then asked me to pay to open the account to access my domains. They then made me pay to access my content. Then nothing. Crickets. Their service people ran me around for a week. DO NOT USE WEEBLY.
Weebly hosts sites like alisachilders.com, who literally go out of there way to say black people were made by god to be slaves, and the bible supports it... there is no way to complain to weebly about there promotion of SEVERLY RACIST VIEWS! And they really don't care as long as they get their money. GO ANYWHERE ELSE TO GET YOUR WEB SITE HOSTED! They need to be canceled... or take what they post for others as their own... AND THEN WEEP AT WHAT THEY HAVE DONE FOR/TO HUMANITY!
Do not waste your time, money, energy.
Weebly and square must be AI, as no human has ever reached out to resolve issues they created.
This company is so bad it's hard to believe they're still operating.
If you dare become their customer you will soon regret it. They cause problems but do not resolve them, they don't mind wasting your time sending you on wildly unproductive goose chases and then you get to start all over again!
If you're in to torture then go for it. Otherwise, consider the time it took me to write this to you and think... Hmmm... I bet they're right. Why would they bother writing this review unless they were frustrated beyond belief?
Better companies than this no good, scamming pile of pus.
Answer: Weebly has a lot of pages, this to me doesn't seem like one of them. You might get this error if you go there. 404 Error - Page Not Found They have a blog that can answer that or lead to that answer.
Answer: You need a paid plan, then you can get live customer service. You still can only get that during business hours. Keep your notes in front of you, they are tricky. Remember what you say in the live chat box because the chat box will not reveal what you were previously saying. They'll try to confuse you using that and try to change your story or something. Then they'll say is that all and end the conversation. Your problem not being solved you'll have to contact them again.
Answer: Confirm this with weebly, don't go there first. Looks like a hack attempt on your account to me.
Answer: I have tried the same and contacting Weekly is futile. They could care less about their clients.
Answer: Weebly does allow facebook marketing on their site. You should take a look at their complete Terms of Service, the most important restriction on advertising is: (q) include more than three ad units per page, or any advertising that greatly reduces the usability of the site. So, you would need to be careful about how many banners you include. That being said, many of Weebly's templates work really well with affiliate sites. The ability to insert HTML and Javascript files gives you a lot of flexibility. I've created a couple of demo sites that show how you can use affiliate data feeds on a Weebly site. You can see them here: http://www.webbuildersguide.com/website-builders-reviews/weebly-review/
