If you enjoy paying for a service that you will not receive, then please run dont walk to Vital Records. They will make sure that your order will nit be fulfilled in a timely fashion. They will ensure that your money is gone, never to return, AND you will not receive anything for your buck! If you enjoy getting the run around, talking in circles, wild and intentional incompetence, flagrantly disregard for your needs, utter disdain for you as a customer, then do yourself a favor and utilize Vital Rwckrds Online for your official document needs

I am trying to gather all needed documents to get a real ID. I have had them all and had gathered them a couple of years ago but have misplaced the whole set of documents, a whole other story. Anyway, a couple of months ago, I requested a couple of copies of my older son's birth certificate from Vital Records Online. He needed it and had misplaced it. I did receive the copies I ordered and purchased. So, I decided to use Vital Records Online to request and purchase my birth certificate, my 1988 divorce decree, and my 1998 marriage certificate. They were unable to find my divorce decree. They did send me my 1998 marriage "certificate", I thought. So, then I requested my birth certificate. They emailed and asked for my marriage certificate saying it was needed to be able to send me my birth certificate. I did not understand that but did send them a picture of my marriage "certificate". Vital Records Online responded by email that what I sent them was not a marriage certificate. Now, remember, I received this document- marriage certificate- from them. They sent it to me as a marriage certificate. I looked at it more closely and realized it did not have the word "certificate" on it. So, it may not be official, but it is what Vidal Records Online sent me as a marriage certificate. So, I did not receive what I paid for. I am also not going to receive my birth certificate either. I believe Vital Records Online owes me a refund for both an invaluable marriage certificate and for a birth certificate for which they took payment without delivery. Bottom Line - Vital Records Online is not reliable but will take your money.

I placed an order for my birth certificate in April and paid $112.65, plus an additional $55 for expedited processing. After receiving no updates for weeks, I contacted the company in early June and was told the request was still "processing." Following that complaint, the $55 expedited fee was refunded — but I still have not received my birth certificate, nor any meaningful communication or resolution. It is now July. This company has had my money for months, failed to provide the service I paid for, and has not taken any responsibility. What makes this even more concerning is that this business is promoted on a government-affiliated (. Gov) website, which gives people the false impression that it is an official or vetted agency. That is misleading and borders on fraud. This is unacceptable. No one should be losing money or documents to a service that hides behind government legitimacy without delivering results.

Buyer be ware

Needed a birth certificate for my wife paid $94 and they just send me a form to fill out plus automatically enrollment subscriptions which I did not want now they're trying to charge me another $9 a month and I still have no birth certificate. WTF

I have been waiting over a year to get my divorce certificate. Vital Records said that they were backlogged so I waited for my certificate. I contacted them several times about it while they kept saying they were still searching. Now, Vital Records says I don't have a divorce certificate or none was found. Although they still charged me 63.00 for nothing. I just called the courthouse to find out why Vital Records couldn't find my Certificate... the person I talked to said they didn't know anything about that and sent me to the proper website where it cost 5.00 to get my certificate. But Vital Records say that they are still going to charge me because they worked so hard to find my certificate. I also paid extra to have this record sent by FEDEX but instead they sent it regular mail. I mean at least send me the form through FEDEX I paid for it; instead they sent regular mail... 73 cents for a stamp.

I ordered a copy of my daughter birth certificate MONTHS AGO! Even after I paid for quick shipping I was supposed to receive it back in April finally I gave up and requested a refund but was denied even though I never received the B. C and this issue was clearly on their end. DONT USE THEM! They will screw you over!

This company markets their website so it looks like it's a legit company where you are directly ordering a birth certificate. It is just a third party. Their website has a notary service linked for when you need notarizing, which I utilized. I was getting my child's birth certificate from CA so she could travel out of the country with school. Their notary service failed to stamp/notarize the document despite me paying and completing the process. They did not notify me about this until 6 weeks after my order was completed. I was told to expect the document to be received 4 weeks after I ordered it, which I had paid to have expedited. My daughter has to miss her trip and I had to trouble shoot on my vacation with my family. Needless to say it was extremely upsetting for my child who can no longer go to her French trip and also very stressful for my travel partner given we had to find service to come out of the mountains to figure out what I was going to do with this disaster. I am now having to deal with the trip refund from the travel company. Vital records online treated me like I needed to follow up with ca vital records and track everything myself and was treated as though it was me that did not notarize the document despite paying for and receiving the receipt and verification the notarized document was completed and sent by the company to ca vital records. Every step the service reps were unaccountable and offered no answers that help to alleviate the problem. I never received any acknowledgment that it was their service that fell short and made the mistake somehow of not actually sending the notarized document. They offered to resend the document but it was so so late the woman acknowledged there was no way they could obtain an order within the timeline. Do not waste your time.

Same thing that happened to so many others has happened to me. Buyer beware. Took my money, never heard from them again. Ill be filing a complaint with the BB and contacting my bank about fraudulent charges. Total waste of time and money.

One of the worst companies Ive dealt with in a long time. You have to fill out the information and verify it on the original website. Then you have to check your email to verify all the same information again and provide pictures of your drivers license. I didn't realize that until 2 weeks after paying for the service. $60 for them to delay the process. After I verified the information on the email, I called them to confirm the actually performed their job and sent the information to my home state. I was put on hold for 20 minutes just to speak with someone and the lady was dismissive about their delay in my processing. I highly reommend you got with anyone other than Vital Records. Its a rip-off and their service sucks.

I've been waiting now for almost 3 1/2 months for my NJ Birth Certificate, and the state returned the application and the fee and said only one document had been included, so they could not process the rest of the order. One of the two documents I sent to them originally never made it into the application or was not correct, to begin with. So now I must wait even longer to resubmit this application. I agree with others here, go directly to your county or state's website and do it through them, this was a waste of my time and money, which I doubt I'll ever get back.

I'd give 0 stars if possible. The whole organization is a SCAM. I paid them $60 in January for a certificate and after 8 months, with them losing my data twice, they accomplished nothing. They are not the Department of Health for a state which is the RIGHT PLACE TO GO. This is a scam, with horrendous customer service and will waste your time, take your money and do nothing. They should be closed for scamming consumers.

Pretty much what the title says. Vital Records is great at processing your credit card payment. And then it just ghosts you to find out that it won't ever send your birth certificate to you.

I apply for a NY birth certificate for my son 10 weeks later I am still waiting they keep saying it's still still under review
Yesterday I travel to NY and received one in person I was inform then that this company is a fraud and should report them and the only out side company that they work with is vital check please do not use this company you will not receive anything from them

Ordered birth certificate. They won't refund my money. Keep giving me different answers that contradict the previous answers. Don't waste your money. Somehow they manage to look legit with a lot of reviews but are not to be trusted. They did refund my money.

Trying to get a death certificate for my brother. Worst experience i have ever had. After multiple emails and phone calls, i am even more confused. They will charge your account immediately. After all the crap, they send an email that says they need more info. The email also says they have everything. Scroll down and it says we don't service this area anymore. I then see on their website that they only provide the death cert 3 to 6 months after the event. I call and want a refund. I tell the girl do not refund to the account that paid. 4 times she said she would refund to the account used to pay. Finally i asked for a supervisor. Was told they don't have one. Asked to talk with who you work for. Was told don't work for anyone. Asked to talk with her boss. Was told not available. She put the refund through on the account i told her not too. After all this i told her f@$k you

This business is a fraud

This company is a fraud. Do not use them for Apostille services as they will waste your time and money. I paid $159.00 on May 10,2024 for an Apostille for a birth certificate. I followed their instructions exactly and sent the original birth certificate to them immediately. When I heard nothing, I contacted them and asked for an update on the order. They claimed there was no order on record. I sent them a copy of their own order confirmation as well as credit card info for tracking the payment that they had already received. They did not have the decency to respond to multiple emails asking what happened to the order. The customer service person was very rude and insisted she simply had no record of the order even though they had collected the $159.00 from my credit card and the USPS confirmed that my document had been delivered to them five days earlier. I finally found someone who did confirm that they received the order and had processed it. He gave no apology or explanation for the claim that there was no order. Already, ten days had passed despite their promise of a 3-5 day turnaround. Well, after 18 days, I was shocked to find that all the documents were returned to me unprocessed. I had no Apostille on my birth certificate and the Department of State of New York had rejected the application because VRO did not process it correctly. I lost all that time and I lost $159.00. Worst of all, they never did have the professional decency to respond to my many complaints about losing the order and subsequently failing to process it correctly. I strongly recommend that no one use this company for any service. They will take your money, fail to process your request and have no accountability to fulfilling their corporate promises. Such behavior is the definition of corporate malfeasance and fraud. Taking money for a service that they cannot provide is deception. It is also a disrespect of paying customers. Their customer service is atrocious. Please save yourself the hours of stress I have endured with Vital Records Online. Find a company that is professionally responsible, accountable and capable of completing the services they sell (or provide an explanation or refund if they cannot do so).
