Horrible customer service, we called 3 times regarding a charge for equipment that was returned to them. Have proof of tracking and that they received the equipment at their warehouse in Fort Worth Tx. Does anyone at their company speak English?

Our old internet provider said they serviced the area of our new rental, but then AFTER we signed the lease, informed us that they actually don't. Literally the only game in town was Hughesnet or Viasat. Hughesnet was 1990s AOL dial-up slow. Unusable. Via sat PROMISED fast speeds, but never delivered. Latency averages 700-800, which renders it absolutely unusable (3-5 second delays for both phone and video calls) Customer service is atrocious. They will lie and lie and lie just to get more $$. They promise "business hours," but still yank all of your data. READ EVERY WORD OF THE FINE PRINT - IT'S A TRAP. They had us using 35-90 Gigs PER DAY when our devices were shut down and we weren't even home. No, no one had our password (the stupid modem automatically resets several times a week, which switches up the password and we have to go chasing it down.) The slightest changes in weather knock out the service altogether. Both my husband and I lost our jobs over their absolutely terrible, spotty, slow "service."

Terrible service
December 30, 2023

BEWARE! Viasat paid google to take down their real reviews.
And the 3 star ones you see? Good luck trying to leave a bad review.
Most are employees.
85% of customers are very dissatisfied. They throttle you even when you don't use it much. Do your research. This company is about greed. And only greed.

The worst internet ever.
November 22, 2023

When I spoke to them the first time they told me NO CONTRACT, the internet did not work from day one, I called several times and they did not solve the problem, when I wanted to watch TV it only said "no internet connection" when I canceled the service they told me They was going to charge a extra $343 from my bank account. Because there was a CONTRACT, I do not recommend them at all, terrible signal, horrible prices, and customer service the same, terrible, while I was trying to solve my problem with them on the phone another person could be heard in the background cursing because they ran out of lemonade.
Don't waste your money and time with these thieves.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE
November 16, 2023

Viasat is totally no service. Half the time we can't even get on the internet. Yes, other internet services may be bad, but nothing rivals the total worthlessness of viasat. It must be in the brink of going out of business. By the way, viasat says it's going up 33%; that's comical.

Avoid ViaSat
October 19, 2023

We had limited choices for internet provider until Starlink came along. ViaSat "sold" us 50-150 mbps for a premium price of $300 per month. Since our contract started 3 months ago we've had 20mbps at best with uploads of 1-2mbps. We've had 4 service calls which were very difficult to setup, and it wasn't till our last service call that they realized our equipment was faulty. Broken equipment- it happens.
We requested a refund for the 2 months ($600) for the time that we were not able to use the service, and we were denied. Instead they offered 1month, citing that there is "no proof" that we had service interruptions (despite 3 other service calls for no service and the realization that the original equipment was faulty). So it was a no brainer to discontinue service with them immediately. But just so they were certain the door hit us from behind on our exit, they denied the 1 month refund and reminded us they we signed a contract and would need to pay them an additional $350 as a penalty. Thankfully, there is nothing in the contract protecting them against the sale of a faulty product and will have an opportunity to dispute this legally.
This company makes their money selling a contract that offers an unrealistic product and then penalizes you when their scheme is revealed and you cancel the contract.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this headache, especially as there is now other companies with faster service, cheaper rates and good customer service

Stole money after I took my payment method off.
September 20, 2023

I got screwed. I took my payment method off in July. Nothing came out in August. And then Sept hit they take 177.00 from me. Without a card on file mind you! The day it happened I called. They told me to email corporate. I do. 5 days they said I'd get a response. 7 days pass. No response. So I call again. 2xs in one day. I've got screen shots proving that there was no card on file on the 13 2 days after they took mymomey. Mind you my cycle begins on the 4th. They said one was put on on the 4th. No it wasn't. I haven't had one on there since July. They didn't care and said I couldn't get my money back even tho I hadn't used my internet because I didn't even know I had it. I called as soon as I knew. So it wasn't like I waited until the end of the cycle to complain. I wanted it immediately stopped and a refund. They told me to call my bank. Ha. Yeah. OK. So I'm guess the bank has to tell them they ain't getting the money I don't know. But I did tell them to block any action from viasat. This is insane. That money was for groceries. Not internet. There was a reason I tool my card off the account!
I wasn't enrolled in automatic pay on the 13 so how was I enrolled 2 days prior? Lord have mercy. I swear. Never use viasat!

I had this satelite service out of desperation because my area did not have any other choice. I regret ever having spent any money here, they are the literal worst. I changed to ATT as soon as I could and ViaSat suddenly had a better rate and better speed to offer me...haha NO. After I cancelled they continued to charge me for months! Constant fight with a guy on the phone that sounded so high he could not function. He said both "I see your service is cancelled..." and "it was justifiable that they charged me in September because I cancelled my payment in Aug" So they were just charging the card no matter what! I had cancelled in July, for reference! AVOID THEM

Wait until you try to disconnect their services. You have to go yourself to the root and disconnect a piece of their equipment and you have to wait 2 weeks after the end of the billing cycle for them to send you a box to return their equipment and then you will have only another 2 weeks to return the box. If you fail or send the wrong things or get injured trying to go on top of your roof they will still charge you 300.00 additional. Horrible customer service. I never asked for a refund I just didn't want to wait 45 days to get a stupid box to then be able to return their equipment. I also asked for an email as a proof I called to disconnect service and they refuse. But then sent me an email afterwards anyway. Horrible. Stay away

Bad Company
September 9, 2023

Terrible experience: Internet speed was 5 times slow than what was in my contract and ViaSat was not able to fix it. When I cancel service, they still took earlier termination fees.

This company is horrible. We are rural and had no other choice for internet. It is terribly overpriced and the service is mediocre, at best. Down more than up, and slow when it is working. And we were paying for the highest speed and most data. I called to disconnect before the next billing date, and they charged me another $250 for another month service anyway. Plus they lock you into a contract for 24 months of their crappy service. And their customer service guy wanted to chitchat about the weather and my health. He would not let me speak to a supervisor. This is a terrible company with terrible internet service. DO NOT RECOMMEND. It's a scam.

STAY AWAY
August 3, 2023

This company has horrible customer service! I disconnected my account in 2018 and returned my equipment at that time. They reached out via debt collectors in 2022 saying the equipment wasn't returned. WHERE DID THIS COME FROM 4 YEARS LATER?!? They are now trying to scam me out of $300 and won't speak with me on the phone because the account is too old? Absolutely insane. This company has been a headache since day 1!

Don't get robbed!
July 28, 2023

This company is the worst internet service I've had in 30 years! They are rapists and thieves! Tried to charge me $530 for one month, all bull$#*! charges and extra fees I didn't know about, that they claim are valid. They suspended my account and then still are charging me the monthly fee of $160 which is extremely limited data. I would run out of data after 2 days of watching tv for a couple hours a day! The internet went out half the time or it was buffering. It's nearly impossible to speak with a representative and of course when you do finally get through, they barely speak English and if you can't get through, the message just hangs up on you. Now they're trying to charge me $350 to disconnect it and get their equipment down from the roof to send back or they'll charge another $300…unbelievable! This has got to be illegal! Very unhappy. My internet in the middle of no where in Alaska was better than this! Dial up AOL was better than dealing with this crap!

Agree with all of the reviewers here. They don't deliver anywhere near the speeds promised, and if you cancel, they charge you a cancellation fee of up to $360. I paid for 50Mbps service, and my service averaged 3Mbps. They said they don't promise 50Mbps speeds and that 3Mbps meets their promise. I'm filing a dispute with my credit card company.

I called the customer service many times for installation they hold me for long time and no response, they given me many fake time to installation, and they mentioned if I need cancel service I have to pay 2 years.
And when I did the order by cellphone I asked the sales lady she said cancel for free no fees.
This not clear, something wrong happen, I don't understand.
Also the email the sent me for order confirmation not mentioned for any cancellation fees.
I don't know are they scam company or what.

My wife and I recently had to move. After calling customer service we learned that we would be charged $240 for early cancelation...well ok. But on top of that...we have to climb on top of our roof...get a cable that thr tech put in and send that back as well otherwise it's another $140. We didn't put the cable up there...we are both disabled. We told them that and they said we would have to find someone to get it down and if we didn't and didn't pay...they would send us to collections. We didn't say anything about not paying either. What the hell kind of a company would tell disabled people to climb on their roof or find someone to do it for some "cable" that they put up there? I have heard a lot of things through the years but this is the top of the heap! Wow is all I can say.
