“Hopefully your tickets will be fine - mine were”

I used viagogo to purchase tickets without reading any reviews. I then read the reviews here and became very anxious. The e tickets came through but were in Row S instead of Row R as I had ordered. I wasn't worried about being one row behind but the discrepancy worried me in case it was a sign of the tickets being dodgy. I used Live Chat a few times and they were really friendly and reassuring. I was still nervous when I got to the venue but only because of all the negative reviews I had read. As it happened, we sailed through the gates and happily took our seats in Row S.

“Purveyors of Fraudulent Tickets”

Scammers. My friend bought us tickets to see Gipsy Kings at The Bristol Beacon with Viagogo, (at what we now know was double the price in the first place) only to discover when we got there that our tickets were invalid, the seats had already been sold by the venue to other people so ours technically didn't exist. Viagogo had sold us over priced tickets for seats that were not available. We had to buy new tickets (which cost half the price thankfully) and we're pursuing a refund. AVOID.

I bought tickets to see Ariana Grande in Hamburg on October 9th 2019 on Viagogo the last days of August. After I bought them i saw the awful reviews and was full of anxiety up until the scanned my ticket, (after 6-7 hours in cue to go in). My tickets worked fine and got to see her in third row. Initially, I was worried because they said my tickets would be delivered to me a couple weeks before the concert and I had to fly to where the concert would be held and even read some reviews about how people never even got their tickets. Thankfully, my ticket arrived the date it was planned via UPS in perfect conditions.

Now, the costumer service they gave me made me feel so much better, i contacted them through Twitter DMS a couple times and even though at the beginning they were a bit slow, they replied and even called me on the phone to solve any doubts I had and reassure me that if they didn't work, they would try to get me other tickets or give me my money back. I contacted them 2 or 3 time via twitter and on their web page after I saw the date on my ticket was different than the concert date. They explained that the concert had been rescheduled and that my tickets would work.

Even so, I wouldn't buy tickets on Viagogo just because the anxiety of my tickets made it worse than usual, especially after i had to spend money on my plane ticket. But if you already did, just check your tickets and read some articles on how to notice if they're fake. It really all depends on the person and not the website. Also have in mind that some people who buy on Viagogo and everything works out for them, probably won't write a review. So most of the reviews might be bad because that's the initial reaction.

I hope everything works out for you whoever reading this! Don't stress too much.

Tip for consumers:
Just hope for the best! It all depends on my seller and i read once that only around 1-2% people get scammed when buying tickets of re-sellers :) BEST OF LUCK!

Apart from struggling to get hold of anybody when i'd put the tickets on as paper instead of e-tickets I had a very positive experience selling my tickets through Viagogo. The event was last Thursday and the money went into my account today (8 days later). Would recommend using them x

Is this text familiar to you:"Issue - Oops! There seems to be an issue with this order. No need to worry, though. Were looking into it and well let you know if we need any additional information."
I've sold nearly a three weeks ago the tickets on viagogo and still hasn't received the money and answer from their side :(

My order ID is marked as Completed, but Payment related to it as failed. I have written three times to support and always received same text that I should check my PayPal account without any useful details.
So, I cannot recommend this service to sell tickets and still hope that I can get my money

[Update]
After posting this review I have received email from viagogo support with real reason why they cannot send money to me. After that I have fixed this issues with my PayPal account and finally have received my money

I have purchased two tickets from Viagogo for the Shawn Mendes concert in London on 6 May 2016. I paid £140 for two £22.50 face value tickets. A PDF of the tickets has been sent to me. It has another customer's name on the tickets. Concerned about this, I contacted the venue, Eventim, Apollo. They were very courteous, but explained they could not confirm whether or not these were genuine tickets nor whether duplicates of this same ticket had been sold. The very nice lady I spoke with explained that they have had problems with Viagogo and other similar websites and have a large number of people turning up at events with fraudulent or duplicate tickets. I have now looked up the person on the ticket and it turns out he is obviously a ticket tout as his company with £2m of assets is listed at the address on the ticket. Do I risk wasting more money on travel and accommodation in London for what could be duplicated tickets? Advice please!
UPDATE. The tickets were fine; we had no problems and enjoyed the concert, but enjoyment tempered by fears about not getting in leading up the the event.

I bougth the ticket for this match throughout Viagogo ticket platform and roughly just 10 days before the match itself. So, I was aware that the originally price of the ticket cannot be reached any more ( originaly this ticket was cca 130 EUR). That was not such a big problem. The problem was, as many of you have already noticed - not transparent expenses, at least until you click on the final "pay" button there.
Only than it was clear to me that Viagogo Provision was 127 EUR and a top of the sealing price of 650 EUR! At the end, it costed me 820 EUR! So, I would say like this: the ticket which I bought, just 10 days before the match was worth ha, max up to 450 EUR. Not more.
So I fill to be ripped off for about cca 400 EUR. I. e. 100 - 150 %.!
Although at first I ve been informed that the ticket will be sent to me via UPS, it was not happened. Instead, I got it just two days before the match via Email and for download. Viagogo service called me also to informe about the changes. That was ok. And even with this ticket print form I didnt have any problem to entry the stadium. On the ticket itself was the name of original buyer -but that doesnt make any problems since you dont have to confirm your ID on the stadium entry. And Viagogo informed me that they will refound me already calculated sending -UPS costs, since I got the ticket per Email. Thats nice of them.

So, my conclusion: be careful and think twice: I didnt have any problem with ticket itself, I was on the match, the seat was pretty good, nice view, nice event,
Viagogo basically is a platform for re-sealing such tickets but with a really big provision and pretty untransparent until final click on the " buy" button!
Use it only if you really dont have any other option and you really want to attend the event!

I saw £28 as a ticket and it stated a child ticket. I was charged £40 but it was a ticket for someone else in another name for £10! Luckily I changed my ticket thanks to a nice and helpful employee of Viagogo face to face at their office at the 02.

Viagogo (along with Get Me In and Stub Hub) are NOT the people setting the price of the tickets - the prices are set by the PEOPLE SELLING THE TICKETS! Viagogo then takes a commission payment from the seller. So... listen carefully one more time... these sites are RESALE SITES. They allow people to RESELL their tickets at inflated prices, and they then take a percentage payment from the SELLER as commission. Please stop blaming these sites for the prices you're paying - they are very transparent about the service they provide, even (in the case of Viagogo anyway) letting you know the face value of the tickets. Actual example text from Viagogo site... "Prices are set by sellers and may be lower or higher than face value. Prices exclude booking and delivery fees (applicable by transaction). Original face value price per ticket (excluding fees): 35.00 - 85.00 GBP"

I booked a ticket to the Australia Open tennis 2 days before the day of play. The ticket was marked up by $164 against the original purchase price, but as the event was sold out (and I am a huge tennis fan) I decided to go ahead with the purchase. Even though It took a few nerve racking hours before I received my e-ticket and I was skeptical about entering the grounds on the day, it all worked out ok and I had the best seat I have ever had at Rod Laver Arena.
All in all for my first experience, I found it reliable, although a little expensive. I guess it depends on how much extra you are willing to pay for a sold out event...!
