They have absolutely no vetting of the shippers.
I have paid through the roof to have my beautiful, $2,000 mattress delivered from New York to San Diego.
It arrived FOUR MONTHS LATE (forcing me to buy a new one), with UNTREATABLE STAINS AT THE BOTTOM.
So thousands in mattress gone, hundreds in shipment cost lost, and a damaged/soiled mattress at the end of it all.
Seller and Transporter were great to work with. Coordinated everything with the seller before listing on U-Ship. No problems. Blanket Wrap Delivery of antique cabinet couldn't have been better.
THIS COMPANY WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY SINGLE RESPONSIBILITY. THEY WILL ONLY GIVE YOU EXCUSES. WE HAVE HAD 3 PRINTERS STOLEN BY THEIR DRIVERS AND THEY JUST SAID OHH TOO BAD GO TALK TO THE DRIVER AND GOOD LUCK WITH THAT. FIRST 2 GUYS WERE ON DRUGS. THEY DO NOT CHECK ANY BACKGROUNDS ANY DAMAGES- OHH TOO BAD. THEFT- TOOBAD. I WOULD NOT USE THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES*******TERRIBLE!
The uShip platform is easy to use and gives you many options to ship goods. This was my second shipment and I plan to use them for all my small load shipments.
Uship is not supportive of your requirements.
These guys consider themselves neutral to the customer (ordering shipping) and the shipping service (broker). So don't expect them to assist you if you have any issues or disputes. Although they consider themselves neutral, don't be fooled. They are making money on both sides, and don't vet out any of the contractors on their site.
This will bite you in the $#*! for sure, and it will definitely bite them in the $#*! one day if they don't support their vendors and customers.
There are several other broker type sites like this out there and they WILL support you when there is a dispute until resolution.
Do yourself a favor, don't use them. If you do use them, be sure you don't give any of your payment information to the drivers or shipping companies outside of the uship site. Many of them will quote you pricing, them charge you fees separate from uship.
I have now been burned by their lack of "customer service" when it comes to disputed with the shipping services. I will never let my business do any business with this company again.
First time using the site overall. I had two different shipments to send to two different places. It took me a minute to figure out the navigation and time frame for when I could expect to receive bids on my shipments, when actually as soon as you post your shipment the site takes care of the rest. I received a few emails through the site about dimensions and time frame which were easy to find the alerts and access. No stress involved or worries with shipping companies as Uship covers generally all liability and credibility. You can also easily access reviews from previous customers that have used the companies to ensure quality before you agree. Uship takes a very reasonable fee in my opinion, I didn't feel like I was getting shafted on the price at all. My overall experience was welcoming and gave me much needed piece of mind, little confusing navigating the site at first but that's not really a general complaint but more of a personal issue. I will be recommending the site to others.
Actually love the service UShip provides HOWEVER the last carrier we booked through them - MOCOMPTI - was the Worst UShip carrier EVER! Completely incompetent and ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS to deal with. MOCOMPTI asked for UShip to not allow us to leave feedback (after the carrier returned our shipment to us instead of delivering) so they could continue doing business through them. Through an 'internal policy' at UShip
They basically oblidged and we could not leave feedback on the 'Worst Carrier on UShip' - MOCOMPTI. Let me be clear, USHIP IS A GREAT SERVICE and I have used them for over ten years now - they are Awesome! It's just this last shipping debacle has cost us quite a bit in lost revenue with a heretofore lucrative movie contract. Trust me, If you need your larger items shipped within the US and Canada - use UShip BUT, if you get a quote from MOCOMPTI - BEWARE!

This is the fourth time I've used them three times for a car fourth time was for moving apartment great communication and all times that I've used them throughout the whole process
Bike was picked and up and delivered the next day. Enclosed in a delivery van and it was in perfect condition. Delivery driver was very good and knowledgeable.

They over charge after accepting bid. Extra charge for unknown reason was more than bid. I had quit using them one time before for the same reason. I will deal direct with freight company.
Excellent experience. I had a bid within an hour. The shipper was excellent and provided superior communications all the way through the process. Would use again.
UShip service has wasted a lot of my time and that of the respondents to my listing. HERE IS WHY. I am in Canada and my delivery is completely in Canada and the companies that responded were all in Canada, BUT on the uShip site all the quotes were shown in US dollars without any indication as such. So, when I went to accept a quote, I was shocked to find that the real price was 25% more than I had expected. I consider this as fraudulent.
To add insult to injury, I went to their contact web page and filled out a complaint only to find out that their SEND button does not work.
I WILL NEVER USE THE uShip SITE AGAIN.
This is the first time I ever shipped a vehicle. Setting it up was pretty easy. The next day I got a call that the driver will be at my home within a hour and a half. The driver never called but showed up. While loading the vehicle up I asked numerous questions. I asked about when the vehicle was going to be delivered. It was on this past Friday 12/30/22, he stated he was headed to Chicago to pick another vehicle up and then stay the night there. He stated that on Saturday 12/31/22 he will drive to North Carolina and drop off the truck. The truck did not show up on Saturday. The truck did not show up Sunday or Monday morning. The weather was not bad on the route so I figured there was no weather delay. I began calling every number I could find for Uship and Orion and was unable to get in touch with anyone. I emailed everyone I could also. Finally after several hours I heard back from Uship. They stated that they too were unable to reach anyone at Orion. I was very frustrated and was going to file a stolen vehicle report. Without any notice the vehicle showed up in North Carolina Monday afternoon. I am not rich so this vehicle is very important to me and my son. My son had to borrow a friend's vehicle to get back to base in time. Uships' lack of communication with Orion caused much frustration and inconvenience. More than they know.
I choose a defend price for LTL through Central Transport. And for the third consecutive time through different providers I was charged additional fees a week later. I review my invoice with no explanation of the $105 upcharge. I call customer service and they take way too long to find out that Central said the driver was onsite over their 15 minute window for unloading (a joke but doesn't apply to me).
The driver said he was onsite for 40 minutes. Well I have cameras for this very purpose.
I was told to issue a refusal of the charges and sent a screen grab of the trucker arriving and leaving. 6 minutes from door to door.
The next day I am informed that Central through my claim out and I was going to be charged.
I was pissed and said I would not pay. So they said to send the video of the entire drop off. Two days later no word back from uship and my window has now closed to debate the charge.
This is clearly a bait and switch tactic. I hope they like chargebacks, because one is coming!
