We booked 3 rooms (one at a time for different people but on our credit card).
It looked like we were successful at the time until days later when we all checked our emails and the other 2 people were sent emails saying the hotel was fully booked and they didn't get rooms. The hotel was NOT fully booked. We got rooms on other sites.
We're still waiting for one of the rooms to be taken off our credit card.
NOT WORTH THE RISK AND STRESS...
The price advertised did not include any of the fees they charged. At checkout it was much more expensive then just booking the flight thru the airline. Waste of time. Also Taipei is in Taiwan.
I booked a plane ticket for my brother. I was notified 2 days before flight time was changed to 2 hours later. No big deal. The day of the flight, it was cancelled. I've taken numerous flights in and out of the same airport never to have a flight changed and then cancelled.
While my brother was trying to find another flight I was on the phone with trip.com asking what they could do. They agreed to move the flight to a different, much later time. They said they would send an application. I then got a text from my bro saying he booked the only ticket he could find. I got back on the phone with trip and asked them to cancel the application. They said they couldn't and refused to give me a refund for the cancelled flight.
My brother ended up paying nearly 10x the price for a plane ticket the same day.
Honestly, I wouldn't even accept a free ticket from this website knowing they might cancel my ticket leaving me stranded somewhere.
I am extremely disappointed with Trip.com as having specifically enquired on the search engine for the Queens Hotel Southsea Portsmouth I was inexplicably directed to the Queens Hotel Hong Kong. Unfortunately I did not notice this misdirection & booked as quoted immediately realising my mistake I have attempted to cancel. Unfortunately all my efforts have been in vain as Trip.com have failed to achieve any progress in obtaining a refund on my behalf. I must admit I do find this result unbelievably disappointing, so much so I do not think I will be utilising their services again..
I had the most horrible experience with booking on this website. On 11th december, 2019 I booked a room at Generator Dublin. Since I had exam the next day I decided to pick a single dromitory room (at least that's what I thought based on the photo they had on the website and there was no information given other than Room Type: Dormitory). When I got there, I got my key and I went upstairs. I found out that i have a bed in a stinky, dirty 6 bed dormitory with males (I am a female). I was extremely disappointed! After 9 hours of flight this wasn't what I was looking for right before the day of my exam. I called trip.com and their customer service was horrible especially the person I talked to (Franky). He was rude and literally behaving as I was the one lying and after checking for quiet a while and keeping me on hold, he came back and give me 2 options: to cancel or to go in a 6 bed female dorm. As it was too late to book another place, and almost all the rooms were occupied I had to go with the second option, but I will make sure that I never book with this website in the future and I strongly recommend others not to believe every photo you see in this website, and make sure not to do the same mistake as mine.
I was looking at several hotels for New Year's Eve. I found a very nice one but had to go through trip.com. I booked the room and got a confirmation number. I decided to call the hotel just to confirm that I had a room and they said that they were booked for New Year's Eve. They told me that I was scheduled for January 12th! I would not even be in the state on that day. I emailed trip.com and they tell me that I scheduled a hotel for December 1st. When I tried to make a reservations it was on December 30th. How could I book a hotel room for a date that has already passed?! This place is a scam. Contact your bank and get your money back oh. I'm hoping I can get mine back.
SCAM! Stay away! Refuses to refund APD (air passenger duty / government tax) if flight is not taken. This is tax earmarked the government, but for no-shows, the tax is not imposed and shall be refunded to the purchaser of the ticket.
They booked the reservation under their company name and credit card so you cannot cancel booked for the 4th of January it was automatically sent to the 11th our fault we didn't check get to the hotel and it's for the following week called immediately within 24 hours couldn't get anyone didn't realize the bottom of the line that says absolutely no refund it is a scam company no hotel has ever even heard of them so we were stranded in Amelia island but no hotel the company is a scam trust me stay away I called another hotel which were booked and they said do not use them they have problems with them because they give people rooms and then non-existenthow these people are still in business is beyond me they're probably not even from the United States
Worst company ever. I would not even call this a company, its a scam! They made our holiday a hell. We booked a flight through them to Tel Aviv from London via Istanbul and back. After 1 day of arrival (Christmas day) we received an email our flight back was canceled. So we contacted "costumer service" to get help, but it was the most useless thing on Earth. They were keep promising us to get us another ticket one day later, and get rid of us by saying wait for our email confirmation. They were keep sending us confusing emails about not having enough information, or our flight is not changable. They dont even speak proper english and I felt like I am talking to the wall. After contacting them several times for 2 entire day saying the same thing over and over again I realised we wont get any help from these people. So we decided to book our own tickets after wasting 2 days with their useless messages. They also mentioned the flight company got bankrupted so we thought we better get another ticket as soon as possible especially because we didnt want to waste our holiday dealing with this anymore. On the 3. Day when I asked them about refund, they told me I am not entitled for any refund because I didnt apply for refund, also they dont even see any flight cancellation anymore and our flight is still on. So after this torture I would like to warn everyone not to purchase any tickets through trip.com if you want a peaceful holiday!
Booking through Trip.com was one huge mistake that I will never make again.
Although their customer service representatives were friendly enough over the phone, any changes you want to make to your flights require you to file "itinerary change requests" which take several hours to process (i. E. you can't just log-in and change something instantly like you would when dealing with an airline directly). Any changes I tried to make to my recent booking (online, via the app, or over the phone -- I tried all three) took several hours to process during which time the seats I was trying to book were sold leaving me, essentially, screwed.
In short, their customer service is ineffective and their policies are incredibly restrictive. I would NEVER book through them again.
Had the worst experience in my life. Informing the client that their reservation was cancelled 30 minutes before checkin is very in appropriate. The hassle and the stress if brought is really not acceptable. In addition to it, despite cancelling the booking and giving the refund for the cancellation, a compensation was promised to be recieved 15 days after the trasaction. Everytime a follow up message was given, the date seemed to be pushed farther from the said deposit day. Now they said to wait for 30 days.
Although the customer service replies a bit promptly (with in a day or two), kindly make better your services to avoid incidences like this. Likewise, do not propose compensations that you cannot deliver promptly. Resources for this kind of hassle is not easy to obtain.
The service does not deserve even 1 star for that matter. Really the worst.
Trip.com is a scam. I purchased a hotel and prepaid. The day before I was traveling they sent an email that said it was canceled. I called and Louis told me he did not know why it was canceled and there was nothing he could do about it. He said they are based in Hong Kong and do not have to abide by American laws and regulations.
Buyer be aware. This company needs to close down.
They charged us $345 for an early cancelation because we had noticed there was a 1 letter typo on the ticket name. They made us wait 1 week to validate they could not change the name on the ticket and told us to cancel and find another flight and still charged us $345 for the cancelation after telling us to wait. They just want your money they dont care how they get it. Dont use this company it is scammy, thieving, and absolutely deserves every explitive in the English and American English dictionary.
Staff does not speak fluent English, which makes it difficult to communicate - rang them a few times to buy priority boarding and received bunch of useless e-mails, nobody had a clue what I wanted and e-mail responses where one line long with no explanation just to brush the problem off. Very disappointed and never experienced customer service at a bottom level like this.
This worst agent I have ever use, disorganised, no credibility and unhelpful.

I booked a return trip with them. I had to keep checking with Airline. Agent did not send any updates like very bad unacceptable changes.
When I found changes myself I had to educate customer service.
Each time different person dealing the same issue. There is no continuity.So they keep asking me the same question.
Agent and Cathay Airline kept passing the ball. I think work together to put their customers in trouble. Only concern is their dollar value.

They sent a double name wrong to the flight carrier. After a lot of discussions and emails with them they said that they changed the name on the ticket but they didn't. They changed only the reservation for the ticket, didn't know that there is a distinction. So until the day before the flight all seemed to be ok until we tried to check in and found out that the name on the ticket is still wrong. When talking to them they said they changed it and everything is correct but the wrong name is still on the ticket. For changing the name they sent an email in the middle of the night with a link valid for one hour.
Will never use again. They misspelled my wife's name then refused to correct it. Basically they stole $800. There was no solution to the problem, no refund, no help. We had to buy a new ticket through the airline.
I booked a flight on December 2 With Trip.com Scheduled to depart December 14. After multiple emails, communication through the app, they don't pick up the phone? Trip.COM could not find my flight booking. They said it didn't exist. On December 7 I booked a ticket with the airline. December 11 trip.com emails me telling me that they will not give me a refund as they found My booking? Are you kidding me? This company is a joke.!
I Book a hôtel with Trip and they don't make the reservation but they take my money and they gave my a fake reservation number. When i arrive at the hotel they toll me that Trip don't reserve my room and now they are sold out! That was 6 month ago and Trip never refund me after they told me they make a mistake and don't reserve my room... they stole me 1000$!
Answer: Do not book with them. If anything happens and you need to modify your booking they will not help you. They have canceled people's bookings at the last minute as well. This company is all about the money. Once they have your payment they are done with you. DO NOT book travel arrangements with them. Read the reviews and I'm speaking from experience. The price is good but if anything happens they will take your money and will not help you.
